panacea
"Thank you all for coming." Amani entered the meeting chamber and bowed in reverence to those who had answered the call. Which was… everyone she contacted, actually. She smiled at that thought.
Jasper Kai'el
was the one who had inspired her to do this in the first place. He had originally come to her, looking for more allies against the same threats which plagued Alderaan now. "I want to know if you have any fire left in the tank." He had said. Amani downplayed it at the time, but the answer was unequivocally, "Yes."
Connel Vanagor
had already agreed to help. His shadows would prove indispensable in rooting out the corruption the Sith were already spreading across Alderaan. She had long known and respected his father, Caltin. Connel had thus far proved he was more than living up to the legacy: He was carving out a new one.
Eloise Dinn
was Amani's padwan. Of course she was going to show up. Their approaches often clashed, but the crucible of Jedi training had forged a bond of respect between them. Amani trusted her student more than anyone else in this room, and her… unorthodox approach might just prove valuable in the fights to come.
Corazona von Ascania
understood the conflicting duties of Royal and Jedi as well as Amani did. But it wasn't just a matter of empathy, it was a matter of perspective. Here, she could offer fresh insights that even the Queen of Alderaan had grown blind to over time. Her skills as a fellow Jedi would prove no less valuable in the fight against evil.
Jonyna Si
was a rebel at heart. Even when the old Jedi Council dissolved, she never gave up the fight. That was the kind of fire that could ignite others to action, the kind that could spur a movement. Amani hadn't seen Jonyna since those days, but she knew of her deeds. A rebel would be just what they need for a fight such as this.
"It's good to see you all again. Especially my fellow council members. We haven't had a proper reunion, have we?" For Amani's part, she was garbed in her old Jedi habit, which she had not touched in years. Over top she worn a royal cloak clasped with an Organa signet brooch, and a chalcedony diadem around her forehead. For the first time, it seemed she had finally embraced both roles together.
"Unfortunately, we all know this isn't just a social call." Hell, they probably wouldn't have all shown up if it was. Not that Amani would have blamed them for that. People like this? Their work never truly ends. "The Sith Covenant want Alderaan. They've been careful to hide their influence, but it is already there."
Amani looked around at each of the gathered faces, her expression inscrutable, "I can't trust my advisors. I can't trust the other Great Houses. Be it out of fear or out of greed, the ranks of Alderaan's leadership have been compromised by the dark side.
But you all are not Alderaanian. And you're all outside of the current power structure in the galaxy. More than that, you're my comrades. My friends. And friends? I could really use your help." She smiled now. Almost felt like being on the Council again.
