- User enhancement: The Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton greatly enhances the strength, speed and endurance of anyone wearing it, increasing their overall combat effectiveness
- Adaptable: The Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton can be worn as standalone armor or be fitted over preexisting armor sets
- Accessories: Each Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton comes equipped with a number of different accessories, such as a Retractable Vibroblade, a Miniaturized Smoke Grenade Launcher, NZ MAM MkII Jet Maneuvering Gear and NZ Pangolin Type 1/A Reactive Armor Plating
- Neural interface: To assist its wearer in utilizing the armor set, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton is equipped with a neural uplink and an ATHENA DCOS-1L [DIrect Central Operating System]
- Additional protection: When worn over preexisting armor sets, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton provides additional protection for its users against certain types of attack, though this is not the main focus of the armor
- Bulky: Even when worn as standalone armor, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton increases the size and bulk of the person wearing it, which can make it more difficult to move throughout tight spaces
- EMP/ION vulnerability: Though it possesses decent protection against EMP and ION based attacks, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton can be rendered effectively useless by these types of attack, turning the exoskeleton into a liability instead of an asset
- Training: The use of a Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton requires extensive training to get used to, as most people cannot naturally adapt to the increased strength and speed that the exoskeleton provides without practicing first
- Expensive: The Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton is quite expensive to manufacture and maintain, especially due to the number of accessories that the armor set is fitted with
- Limited coverage: When worn as standalone armor, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton leaves large areas of the body exposed to attack
- Restrictive: When worn over preexisting armor sets, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton make physically block their users from accessing certain aspects of their original armor, such as by blocking access to storage pouches
The Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton was originally created for the civilian market rather than the military, as the idea behind its creation was to allow workers to work more effectively for longer periods of time than would be normally possible. Unfortunately, the availability of labor droids and specialized machinery on Mahporeem made the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton somewhat redundant, limiting its overall deployment within the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant.
As such, the Wampa-Pattern Industrial Exoskeleton remained forgotten for quite some time, until Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen came to the Imperial Remnant with a request for the creation of an exoskeleton for Imperial Confederation forces. Already having a working design in admittedly limited production, it was only a matter of modifying the exoskeleton for military use, which the Imperial Remnant did with a number of off the shelf components from its own stores of supplies and the N&Z Umbrella Corporation.
To make the armor more suitable for frontline combat, the Imperial Remnant replaced its disposable power cell system with an NZ F.A.R. Fusion Arc Reactor, giving the exoskeleton the capacity to operate for extended periods of time without the need to replace its power source. The Imperial Remnant then added a number of accessories to the exoskeleton, including a Retractable Vibroblade, a Miniaturized Smoke Grenade Launcher, NZ MAM MkII Jet Maneuvering Gear and NZ Pangolin Type 1/A Reactive Armor Plating.
The resulting upgrades to the exoskeleton, along with the exoskeleton's ability to enhance its users strength, speed and endurance, enable their users to greatly increase their combat effectiveness, and the exoskeleton itself can be worn as a standalone set of armor or over preexisting armor sets, such as Tenebrae Armor and other similarly sized sets.
