STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Autonomous: Tri-Wing TIE Droids are completely autonomous droid fighters, no longer requiring any sort of organic pilot to operate the starcraft
  • Firepower: The Tri-Wing TIE Droid is fairly heavily armed, sporting four NZ LC-2A Laser Cannons and a single NZ HP1 Turbolaser
  • Small: The Tri-Wing TIE Droid is quite physically small, potentially making it more difficult for enemy units to hit during combat
  • Fast: Tri-Wing TIE Droids are quite fast moving and relatively maneuverable, making them challenging opponents for enemy starfighters to deal with
  • Smarter: Compared to the TIE Strider and TIE/D Vulture, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid boasts a much more advanced droid brain, making the craft more capable of combating enemy organics
WEAKNESSES
  • Relatively smarter: Though a definite improvement over the TIE Strider and TIE/D Vulture, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid still cannot fully match the skill and unpredictability of organic pilots
  • Bloodthirsty: The droid brain installed within the Tri-Wing TIE Droid is especially aggressive and bloodthirsty, something that can be exploited by enemy forces
  • Unshielded: Tri-Wing TIE Droids do not possess deflector shields, making them quite vulnerable to most forms of damage
  • Fixed wings: Unlike the TIE Strider and the TIE/D Vulture, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid cannot enter "walker" mode, and is purely an air and space based starfighter
  • No hyperdrive: The Tri-Wing TIE Droid, like all Mahporeenian droid fighters, does not come equipped with any sort of hyperdrive system
  • Expensive: Compared to the TIE Strider and TIE/D Vulture, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid is far more expensive to produce and manufacture in large numbers
DESCRIPTION

The success of the TIE Strider and the TIE/D Vulture has lead the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant to develop the Tri-Wing TIE Droid, a pure space superiority droid starfighter. Unlike its predecessors, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid is incapable of entering "walker" mode or patrolling on the ground, instead sporting fixed wings that do not transform into walker "legs". In exchange, the Tri-Wing TIE Droid is designed to combat aerial and spaceborne threats, which it does rather admirably with its four NZ LC-2A Laser Cannons and single NZ HP1 Turbolaser.

The Tri-Wing TIE Droid is also far more intelligent than both the TIE Strider and TIE/D Vulture, sporing a much more advanced ATLAS Mk I High Efficiency Droid Brain and operating system. This better allows the Tri-Wing TIE Droid to effectively combat organic threats, though the droid starfighter may still struggle in combat against living beings. Nonetheless, Tri-Wing TIE Droids are far more capable of keeping pace with organic pilots, boasting a much larger rate of success in combat against them.

Unfortunately, the more advanced nature of the Tri-Wing TIE Droid means that the droid starfighter is correspondingly more expensive, making it much more difficult to produce in large numbers. Tri-Wing TIE Droids are best used to supplement existing starfighter forces, being highly capable of both supporting friendly units or hunting down enemy assets.
