Deep within the bowels of the Imperial Administration Bureau, hidden behind a nondescript door reading simply "Authorized Personnel Only", Head Marshal Fikos gazed at a number of screens overhead.
The control room was quite large, and contained a number of stations; work consoles hummed quietly as two officers, their uniforms crisp as razors, manned the Complex's sophisticated Security protocols; the screens overheard were constantly shifting through a number of surveillance feeds, and daily reports from a number of guards on duty were displayed for review.
This was Head Marshal Fikos' domain, and she ruled over it with an iron fist.
The beautiful blonde woman stood, her uniform pristine & boots glistening with polish, reviewing a datapad in the center of the room. After a few minutes, her face impassive, she gently laid the datapad down upon one of the consoles and turned to one of the officers, who immediately acknowledged her.
"Yes, ma'am?" He asked, falling immediately into parade-rest.
"The Regent has requested all daily reports be brought to him immediately upon review. I will deliver them. Notify me of the results of the scan." She replied, her tone sharp & commanding.
"Yes, Head Marshal." The officer briskly replied.
Marshal Fikos retrieved the datapad, then left the control room. The door hissed shut behind her, leaving her alone in a brightly lit corridor. Her black knee-high boots sharply clicked as she strode down the hallway at a march. Her blonde hair, covered by a peaked cap, was wrapped tightly in a bun, and her uniform, contrasting with the clean white walls of the corridor, gave her a menacing air.
The security of the Complex had fallen to her, and her alone, and she was one of the few members of the Imperium with access to every area in the Complex. Taking a lift up, the doors opened into the Administration's main Commons. A number of Imperial Guards snapped to attention as she exited, but she did not acknowledge them.
Accessing another lift, utilizing the same keycard, she quickly found herself on one of the higher floors of the building; outside, through great floor-to-ceiling windows, mid-morning light shown.. Osseriton, home to the Fel Imperium, stretched out beyond and below.
Moving quickly, Head Marshal Fikos mounted a set of stairs which would take her to a higher floor. This area was strictly reserved for members of the Imperium's High Command, and she knew she would find Regent Harris in his offices. The datapad she held would provide a daily account of the Imperium's troop status and security protocols (which changed, daily). It would also contain information disseminated by Yarisa herself; a list of possible missions the Regent would have to approve before she was able to take action.
One of these, a matter known only to a small number of The Imperium's High Command, had been personally requested by the Regent Himself: The possible search for a Blood Relative of the Fel Dynasty, and possible heir to the throne. Yarisa had taken particular interest in this particular mission, and she had a number of options at her disposal. All she required was her Lord's approval.
Just outside the Regent's Office, two Imperial Guards stood watch, standing at attention like great statues, exuding a silent air of power. She knocked on the door, awaiting Harris' permission to enter.
