To steal a man's tea (Invasions of Atrisia)

| @[member="Darth Arcis"] |

Vilox Pazela worked his hands across the dashboard, eventually powering down all systems in the fighter other than the life support. The lights, impulse engines and other detectable signatures were powered down. He even filtered with the life support systems so only air was filtered in for him to breathe. The Living Force would sustain him in the freezing temperatures that would inevitably claim the Dominus he was sat in and thus he would be able to live in relative comfort until he powered the systems back up for flight. But he had no intentions of flying the starfighter just yet. He was concentrating on the force, feeling his way through the system for his target.

It was then that he felt the disturbance in the force, adorned with the Dominus alerting him that a ship had just entered the system. The energy necessary to form a hyperspace window would still be detectable for the duration of time needed for it to open and close. Although the starfighter could not pick up the exact whereabouts of the Chimera, now that it had entered the system, the subsequent hyperspace window formed that allowed it to drop out of hyperspace could be detected; and thus Vilox Pazela and anyone else paying attention would know that a ship had just arrived.

But it was Darth Arcis himself that the Dark Jedi felt through the powers of the force. He presumed that the one time Emperor of the Sith Empire would be able to feel him too. But neither would be able to pin point each others whereabouts. At least not yet. This was due to the vast distance that was between them still, despite them being in the same system. One was at the edge and the other on a moving, cloaked vessel that couldn't be seen physically nor detected via normal sensors. Checking with the Dominus scanning equipment, he found that he could not locate the ship that Arcis was on. That was how Vilox Pazela determined that he was on board a cloaked vessel.

"Impressive," he muttered, leaning back in the darkened cockpit. He couldn't be seen physically either, for he had blended the Dominus with the black expanse around him. But as soon as he powered up the lights and so on, he would be. "So you have a cloaked ship as well Dranok. A shame that I could not bring the Obscurity to this fight. Alas, I'll have to settle for just you and not your new toy."

Waiting for either Atrisia to find the Chimera or for the ship to reveal itself for the attack, he folded his hands into the opposite sleeves and closed his eyes, meditating on the Living Force to keep him warm, whilst attempting to attune his senses enough to find his enemy.

Mission - Ground Troop Support

Aditya Amadis was happy as a clam today, she woke up without back-ache, had a tasty and nutritious breakfast, got her mani-pedi done and dressed up in the best 'I'm now a Senior Prefect of the Imperial Shipworks' clothes her Assistant thought she'd look official in. Halfway through checking over the prototype of a new hyperfast, light armour, heavy gunned vehicle, the klaxons blazed. "You! Wassup?!" Aditya pointed and yelled at one of her staff. They raced off to make a call and came back white-faced.

"We're being invaded. Attacked."

Aditya slapped her hand on her face. "Really? I just got this squared awa-oh for the. . . TIMING! Gosh! I'm gonna shoot someone in the face!" Clapping her hands, she ended the meeting and made for the Bunker beneath the tower, paging her people on the Imperial Tower's intercom (OOC: @[member="Taiden Keth"] may be able to hear it) "Senior Prefect Aditya Amadis calling for all Imperial Shipworks Managers. Check in at T4-B."

Deep inside the Bunker, she sat in a fancy looking chair and called up the reports on the holoscreens. "Get our Guard Commanders checking in. Rev up the armoured vehicles. See where we need help the most, for now? Ummm. . . . " Aditya gulped. Responsibility? Now? She'd been hoping for at least a couple weeks to get the New Speeder Smell out of her own hair. "Protect . . . us." Hey, no one said she couldn't be selfish.

Get me His Imperial Majesty. "Your Eminence @[member="Akio Kahoshi"], I've got my Guard scrambling to protect the Imperial Tower. Is there any other place you need me and them?"

Bellalika remained small, or at least hidden as best she could. It wasn't everyday the inquisition needed to be in force and it wasn't everyday she had a reason to fight but here it was. They were preparing defenses and they were preparing for a battle. Which wasn't exactly how she wanted to spend the day. She had been wanting to simply enjoy the sunrise instead she was standing here in the armor she had made for her peoples and held her blade with a purge unit on her hip. Her arms were crossed and a million thoughts raced through her head the least of which was. Why am I here? She wasn't a soldier like Rex, she didn't like fighting, she was a force user sure but that just meant she knew how to make people forget she was around. Her specialty as the commander had put it was was being the wrench to fix things and not being a hammer. Though she had been used as a hammer more often it was seeming now.

Her face drifted among the faces and each one of them she suspected was going to die because there was little else she could ponder. She had faced the fringe and felt the Yun-Harla in a fight. Been there when she melded the energy of nearly twenty force users to create a massive hyperspace wormhole and fling the black hex from Elrood to the Fringe territory. She had seen the power many of their members wielded on display and in the case of some others what the non force users could do with the right equipment. So she let out a breath through her teeth behind the glasteel mask and popped her neck. Her voice came out filtered and a little deeper then it normally was. Oh how she missed the simple times of just running from a fight.

"Alright lets get as many things as we can setup and ready."

War, again. This time it was against a real opponent, or as far as Satoshi could tell, at least. The Fringe hadn't won their vast expanse of territory on the edge of space itself without dedication and brilliance. In fact, you could say that their anarchic nature had done them well so far ... up until now at least. Attacking the Galactic Empire was not such a prudent idea. The Empire was order and precision itself, flexible strength in the flesh, and on Atrisia their strength was at its zenith. Vice-Admiral Tressegar had pulled the bulk of the Imperial Navy to Atrisia, and they presented a formidable sight. Satoshi was proud to move his ship into formation with the rest of the fleet, and to defend his homeworld with fire, particle shields, durasteel and raw power. The Fringe would have their reckoning today, and they would come up short.

And from their inevitable victory today they could counter-attack. Sure, they didn't have the forces to completely occupy Fringe space but they did have enough to take enough concessions, humiliating concessions, to considerably weaken their neighbours. A lightning campaign could relieve the Fringe of their most profitable border worlds, weakening their income and therefore their military. Then the Fringe could be slowly but surely crushed, like two strong hands closing around their neck. It would be glorious. Now Satoshi turned his mind to the matter at hand, and turned his nerves to steel.

@[member="Aditya Amadis"]

The Imperial forces were assembling in quick order, exactly how he expected his people to perform. So far the attack had not begun, but he doubted if that would last long. The defenses around the Palace had received more than enough time to harden, now it was a matter of waiting. The reports coming to his armor showed a similar status from the people at the Imperial Tower, that building had to hold.

Speaking of which, his newest Prefect's line connected to his comlink. Normally a Prefect would not be in direct communication with the Emperor, but Aditya was special She was in charge of the most important government owned company in the Empire, and had been hand selected for the position by Akio. "Prefect Amadis, verify that the Imperial Shipwork's critical documents have been properly copied to secure servers, and anything that might be captured is wiped. And make sure that the same is done for the other state owned companies. Hana Exports has little the Fringe would find valuable, but it is still information that could be used against us."

Imperial Tower

The Tower was the nerve centre of the Imperial government and military apparatus and the news of the impending invasion threw its occupants into frentic activity. Deep within the bunker complex Moira absorbed the vast amount of information that was being fed to her through an array of holorprojectors and computer screens, processing them faster than an organic, and at the same time serving coordinating functions by sending out commands to Imperial units, for the Tower was a critical installation that must be protected.

Units of stormtroopers were mobilised and ordered to deploy to the Tower, civilians were conscripted in labour units to set up barricades and dig trenches. Lines of e-webs, missile and grenade launchers would meet any invader moving towards the super structure, commands were also sent out to mobilise armoured units of Imperial Walkers, AT-STs and AT-Ats. This was no time for half-measures, they would be called to fight and die and they would obey, lest they suffer the consequences of disobedience. Granted these preparations would take time, but while this incarnation of the Empire was new to the galactic scene its citizens acted like cogs in a well-oiled machine, they were used to obedience. Personally Moira would be inclined to give any moderately useful organic a gun or a blade and send them to the front. Across the holonet the call to arms was reiterated again and again, Imperial propaganda blared out of the loudspeakers, inciting the people to fight and promising rewards for the brave. Typing in a few commands, she dispatched some technical teams to assist Prefect @[member="Aditya Amadis"] in securing the critical data and documents of Imperial Shipworks so that they might not fall into enemy hands.

One report on a screen provided information on the presence of one @[member="Taiden Keth"] and a unit of Echani Thyrsians, who apparently wanted to fight. "Your willingness is appreciated. Fringe forces are poised to invade. Request you link up with Imperial units in defence of the Tower," she transmitted. A short transmission was sent to Emperor @[member="Akio Kahoshi"], providing an update on defence preparations. Needless to say normally someone of Moira's rank would not have such access...but they had a history. Likewise the command to mobilise would be sent out to aerial units, which should include ace pilot Somarae, so soon Hellhawk airspeeders, multitask air craft that could serve as troop transport and provide fire support, and Gorgon class bombers, able to unload a heavy payload, should be deploying.

Behind one of the Planet's Moons
Mission - Await a target. Masked for now, not moving, powered down.

The imperial home world, the peak and core of their strength, a beacon in the force to draw from near and far. Sera raised her arms in ritual and prayer, uttering words of devotion and protection. The red priestess taking shelter behind one of the moon's, masking her five Kintan's Lance heavy frigates, Naginata fighters deployed it gave them a screen of thirty, almost three squadrons of loyal nikto. All ships were crewed by Nikto and imperial personnel shared to keep watch on her, and make sure she followed orders. Cronos of the Empire was her Master but they didn't need to know that, she had made a great offering giving herself up to the inquisition, and would probably now find life much more difficult as a result. All this was for him, and him alone. @[member="Cronos Aegir"]

An Ocean blue stare gazed out across the viewport, drinking in the dream to come, absorbing all of it into her vision. All was the will of the force, she had seen visions of a battle coming soon, somewhere, but none would have trusted the words of an outsider, so she merely prepared the best she could. Enrolling in the empire and following their rigid doctrine was not easy for the Priestess of Kintan, but the sacrifice had been made, the force willed it. Those she would send to their demise today, were the will of the force, because it could not be otherwise. Their lights to be extinguished as they met the imperial war machine, at its most potent, their capital and homeworld, giving Kintan's harsh bred young spirits as an offering to their aid.

Sera's arms lowered to her sides, hands cradled at her stomach, fiery red hair that would light more than one fire itself. Standing on the bridge awaiting the call, the target painted to be removed, whether it be on the planet or in the endless black of space, the fleet only need call. Fighters or ships were at their aid, a surprise waiting behind a closed door.

The forces will be done.

A Bamboo Forest

War. Since the dawn of civilization, it was both what drove and divided people. Even hundreds of centuries ago, when the progenitors of the Ruferalahuin had reached a peak in solar civilization, it had all poured over and their existence became completely obscured from history. But War. War never changes.

"Damnit," she thought, "Awh, there's nothing but trees and... bamboo chutes here."
There was some sort of small, meaty creature running about through the thickets. Somehow she had caught wind of it and chased it into the woods, thinking it for a juicy, delectable morsel. It had evaded her grasp somewhere along the way and it seemed as though it had made its escape. "It got away.... Lame." She frowned and let out a long sigh.
Aynea's ears twitched briefly. There was something in the distance. Dinner? No, it was much too far for an animal that size to get and it didn't sound like anything she remembered. She turned her head to the side, ears pointing to the origin of the faint, echoing sound. That is when several small craft roared overhead and paced towards the capital.
"Hey, you imbeciles!" She yelled to the sky, straining her arms back and stomping.
It had blown dust and leaves all over her from the gust they created. Then she realized something; why were wartime vehicles rushing off to the capital so fast?
"Oooooooooohhhhh..." she slowly uttered.
Standing there for a few seconds with a dumbfounded look, her ear twitched about before the scope of the situation rushed back into her brief span of attention. And just like that, she sprinted off towards the imperial quarters, weaving over rocks and through reeds with her body leaned forward, sometimes rushing over obstacles on all fours. The closer she drew, the more distinct the sound grew. Air raid sirens, she nodded. By the time she got back to the imperial town, over a kilometer away, she was out of breath and feint. Her eyes twirled as she landed belly-first on the cold, hard stone floor with her arms outstretched. The tails of her fancy yellow robes slowly drifted flat on top of her. W-water... she murmured to herself from the ground, too cramped and complacent to get up. Hopefully someone would pass by any minute now and she could ask them what on earth is going on. She wanted to know. She needed to know. Her curiosity demanded it.

After months of infiltration and eating the sandpaper bread and questionable green-soup they served to the imperial soldiers in the mess-hall, she stood at attention as the Zeltron woman spoke to the troops. The undercover Fringer really, really wanted to mess with the mask over her face that matched their commanders. For some reason it was more uncomfortable than the scarlet one she usually wore. She maintained a professional demeanor as they were dismissed.

She just had to get past the stiffs to the central computers to upload the virus that would mess with their communications and possibly lessen their tactical systems until their back-ups kicked in. Easy as pecan-pie, right?

Stars, she missed her shotgun.

Mission - Secure the building.

So... Darksiders, Taiden received updates, Sith in all but name, it was enough, he knew his opponent. Kei may dispute it all he liked when Taiden returned to him, but he was in the right place, for himself and for his honor. @[member="Moira Skaldi"] Receiving the call Taiden began to secure the building, the Thyrsian echani moved with precision timing always, this task was no different. They spread out to make sure they were in vital junctions, some allowed to reinforce key areas underground, @[member="Kitt Solo"]. The bulk of them on the upper levels so they'd see the fiercest fighting. Fewer in number than their attackers surely, but fighting past these men and women hand to hand, was going to be long, drawn out, and very bloody if it came to that. There would be no easy or quick victory here. Not to mention the large number of regular imperials in this one of the most important sites on the planet.

Echani would use the structure, use the layout to every advantage, to work with the building as if it was a battlefield, one they communicated within, naturally finding who they were as warriors in the conflict. House Keth would breath deep of this battle, one more in their long legacy. In his planning he heard the familiar voice of @[member="Aditya Amadis"], unaware of her station on the world, an interesting development to say the least.

Anti aircraft defenses on the tower, received reinforcements, close to hand in case they needed repairing, or someone was clever enough to land men on the roof of the tower. They'd not be spared lighting fast blade and boot either, and Taiden would have advanced warning of any breach there. The Echani lit up Starborn, his lightsaber, its silver luminescent glow humming in front of his matching colored eyes, turning it off and preparing himself mentally for the day ahead. "For our family name," he said over the communicator to every Echani, "by the grace of the light." He was only 19, time to become a man and quieten the whispers back home, of him being too young to lead the house.

Well this was just boring, but boring was good. It meant no one was dying here or the fringe was just lazy. Rex's squad stood there waiting for the palace to come under attack, he would probably miss this time when they finally did come under attack but for now his squad stood there at parade rest outfitted with the best weapons the empire could get, masers from the Chiss. It was helpful having the Chiss in your back pocket when it came to weaponry. "Douglas! Go get our two friends here some weapons!" the emperors own trooper nodded and went off to fetch a pair of masers for the two mercenaries. "You two, our goal is to defend the emperor unless we get called for QRF. This is a high priority target so I'm sure that won't happen, just be prepared to move if it does." Rex spoke through his helmet to the two mercenaries. Soon the trooper returned with the weapons for the mercenaries handing them to the men with plenty of ammo. "You guys better thank me, this comes out of my paycheck"

Bunker - to Central Computer Core

Aditya had done the smartest thing in the history of Atrisian Warfare: She changed her clothes. Going from the prim and fancy office clothing, Aditya knicked a set of grey trousers, stuffed her blouse into the rolled-up waist hem and donned a military issue flak jacket, yanking a utility belt with twin blasters to settle on her hips. She was halfway through finding a pair of non-heeled boots when the Emperor gave her the objective. "Yessir, Emperor Sir! @[member="Akio Kahoshi"] No worries, I've got this. Oy! You three, confirm the idents of everyone who enters this bunker & mark them. .oops! Sorry Sir! Sr. Prefect Amadis out!" Aditya went through her command staff and began marking their upper arms below the armpit with a notch from an old school green marker. "Everyone gets this, or they don't come with. Anyone who doesn't have that mark's got thirty seconds to prove their Idents before they get shot. Understood?"

Properly marked herself, she took the technical team with her to the Central Computer Server Room, a satchel bag slung across her body for the hard copy data. "Once it's uploaded to the secure server, toast it." Aditya began the download, using her authorization code. Her team worked efficiently and quickly to salvage then destroy all copies which could fall into enemy hands. "Fire sale, people! Hurry up, the Emperor gave us a job." The Central Computer core listed a percentage of completion. Aditya started stuffing more sensitive items in her satchel, keeping them close to her own body until they could be properly contained or destroyed. No one but her would be responsible for the key elements. She thumbed the latch on the gun holster,

@[member="Moira Skaldi"]'s Technical teams came and Aditya sent the cyborg a message of gratitude. "I'll keep you posted." She knew the sentence was a redundancy, Moira couldn't not be informed could she? Who was Moira? Did she like avocado? Could Aditya learn not to use double negatives? Some things happened oddly in pre-war.

Shinju looked around the ship, Dranoks had dropped out of hyperspace and now she sneered a little. Her hand went to her hip and she checked the iron skin. Her older armor not needed for a war but best part here was looking to the Dark Desire as she ran to the stealth ship. The pilot warmed it up while she just stood there and got ready. Whatever was being planned she had one goal. Break things for the Yun-Harla. It would be easier now though she had been practicing and knew full well the limits of eating everything. It was how she got to vaporize the building with the army of light. Their explosions were delicious, their emotions perfect. Her face looked on as several more drop ships of troopers released to provide cover and she saw the Dark Swarm appear for herself. The cover as it were as the ship took off and She spoke. "Alright fringe forces prepare to move in, we'll touch down and break everything. I want their people begging for death understood."

With a look at the other fringe members who could come along because they needed to get ground side. The ship took off engaging its stealth systems as Shinju moved to get the ship planetside. The swarm worked to distract with all of its interceptors keeping the sight off of the black ship, The palace would be their destination but there was more to it then that she wasn't going to leave this in the open with her baby girl on it The rest of the drop ships coming in with cover from Arcis's ship and a good bulk of the fringe ships dropping out of hyperspace just gave her a grin as they touched down letting the cover several kilometers away be used to hide the ship. Her head swung around to the pilot and she spoke. "Now your going to stay here or else... I'm going to make sure that lovely daught your brought onto my ship. Decorates my room understood?"

The woman gave a nod of her head and Shinju flicked her wrist. "Now move out and remember we only kill and eat things when it is needed until then. Just kill things cause their troopers are expendable I want the emperors tea set." She stood up and exited the ship making sure they were out before locking it up. THe stealth systems still engaged to keep it from sensors and her twin derriphans strapped across her back. "Lets go and kill things shall we I am a little peckish."

Lucien moved into the hanger His Following behind him came his officers and their troops the Archon would stay behind and coordinate Lucien's forces as best He could. Lucien strode forwards two transports and three fighters were positioned to begin the assault. Lucien climbed onto his own fighter "You just heard Lady Exedō tonight we dine on Artisan China, Rickard you are with me, Pilots cover the transports down, the rest of you get into the transports" He shouted to his troops before climbing into the fighter. His ship left the hangar first followed by the others, He followed the path of the other fringe forces coming into land near by to the capital.

He climbed from his ship and gathered his troops. Then he prepared to move toward the capital.

Air to Ground
Objective: Wreck Things

Tricia was sitting still for the moment until the dropship jerked. "We're in the air, hold on and I'll find a spot to land." She just looked from her lounging position and smiled before standing and opened the door. The wind burst into her face as it made the ship jerk. The pilot looked at her and she grinned. "I'll be fine, just do whatever it is you need to do. Besides there is doubtful to be someone down there who can match me in a fight." Tricia jumped out and the cape behind her shot into the air while she flew away. The speed and wind cutting over a small barrier of force energy until she looked upon the bulk of an atrisian force and dropped down into them with a force blast. Her fist tapping the ground to send it around and repel several troopers.

Her face taking in the rest but letting the mental wave of her own wash onto them and they stopped. Their guns aimed but not firing while they turned. FIrst to each other and then pulled the triggers. A scorched mark in their throats to indicate where they fired while she moved letting the wind flap the cape behind her. The small birds on the planet flying around at the front and back as she went forward.

face-off-flying-doves-o.gif

Her face continued to look around and then she looked up at the tower in the distance. There wasn't a real plan beyond... Break things that she was given. If anything securing the tower could be as easy as bashing something into it until it fell and denying the Atrisian's access to it. Her muscles tensed under the iron skin not from the chill or the wind but from her preparing as she jumped up again and took off into the sky.

War! Bloodshed! The death of the innocent and perhaps not so innocent. Assuredly such a beautiful undertaking could not take place without Siobhan Kerrigan. Formerly commander of the Omegan ground forces, Exarch of Eriadu, now working for Firemane Industries now that she had cut her ties with the Protectorate. Her reason for being here on Atrisia in a foreign quarrel, in which the Protectorate was apparently taking no interest in although it took place right next door? Strictly speaking she had been here to discuss business with a General Yu, who incidentally had once conquered the surface of Cato Neimoidia with Moira Skaldi, but alas then war had interrupted.

Siobhan did not like the Imperials, but at the same time she had yet not been given a big reason to strongly dislike them. Fringe on the other hand she really could not stand and the Imperials did want to buy Firemane tech and with space soon to become a highly contested zone between the fleets in space this made the choice rather easy. The Imperial Tower, the nerve centre of their command and control infrastructure it seemed, was a fortress bristling with firepower, assuredly the Imperials and their allies would do their jobs and they seemed to be moving heavy armour into position. As alarms howled and loudspeakers blared out that all troops move to counter the invaders she quickly moved through the vast and long corridors, clad in battle armour and with her trusted Mark One Bolter at her side, her still unignited blue lightsabre attached to her belt, anti-force user grenades and thermal detonators rounding up the arsenal along with a scatter gun on her hip. In the distance she heard screams, Imperial soldiers apparently being crushed and she felt a strong surge of force energy being unleashed, her senses homing in on the powerful force signature.

Battle called to her like a siren and though she was less of the blood knight she had once been she answered, checking that her boltgun was loaded with a magazine of explosive bolts and that her explosives were securely strapped to her. A message had been sent to Kaeshana, informing @[member="Tegaea Alcori"] that Siobhan might be a little late for dinner. Hopefully she would come back with all her limbs intact. This was not her fight, not her war really, as much as her combat prowess might show the Imperials how great Firemane's services would be. If they survived, about which personally Siobhan did not care much. Her muscles tensed, cold resolve could be seen in her eyes, stepping out of the Tower past the units of stormtroopers who had set up defensive positions, lines of e-webs and missile launchers guarding the entrance outside.

The Force surged through, wrapping itself around her like a cloak and she welcomed it, power shooting through her as she sank deeply into it, her sheer will driving her as she harnessed her powers. Her muscles tensed strongly and she briefly cocked her head to the side as she stepped out into the sunlight, paying no mind to the units of stormtroopers and their mechanical constructs, then as a surge of energy hit her suddenly she leapt high, very high into the sky. At first it seemed like a force jump but rather then descending she shot out into the sky, the wind bending to her, with her long brown hair cascading in the wind as she flew. It should give her a better overview of the advancing enemy forces, something the Imperials could use. Of course, if she were honest with herself, her true reason was the presence she was sensing.

Aboard the Chimaera
High Orbit, Atrisia

And the rest of the Fringe fleets surged into existence alongside the Chimaera. Everything was already being prepped as the Lords of the Fringe began deploying their forces. Granted, King Arcis was utilizing technology that had previously been affiliated with the Sith Empire, but he was sure to make his units stand out from their predecessors. For instance, the Chimaera was painted black rather than the Imperial Grey traditionally found on the hull of most Star Destroyers. The 501st legion Stormtroopers carried the blue stripe of honor across their armor and the vehicles were given the red and golden logo of the Star Kingdom.

Rather than uncloak and enter combat, King Arcis willed that he'd do something differently than the rest of the Fringe forces. "Chimaera, lower into the atmosphere and land in an open, secure environment. Stay cloaked and prepare all ground personnel and starfighter crews."

Aynea slowly rose up from the ground, brushing the dust off her shoulders and large bust. "Gee, real polite..." she murmured as several anxious Atrisian official passed down the road. She began walking down the back alley lane of an avenue full of shops and other public facilities. Well, she thought whilst looking up to the horizon where the Imperial Tower was, Might as well find out what all the commotion's about. Each foot slowly and apathetically paced past the other as she marched off towards the palace. When the roads ended and the feet of the mountains began, that's when the heavy hauling stated. She let out a long sigh and prepared herself for what was inevitably going to be a painstaking trip up. Well, if the animals can do it, so can I! she determined.
When Aynea got there, everything actually seemed pretty desolate. It was like everyone flocked over to a different area, there was no one by the courtyards and barely anyone standing by the gates. "What in the..." she asked herself, as she drew closer. "That's not right, that's just... not right." she whispered. Her deeper curiosity lead her to want to explore for herself and find the answers to all of the questions that kept arising. She sneaked around the main gate and went around the west side looking for a wall or ledge she could vault her foxy self over. No good... she thought, sneaking back around the corner to see the men at the gate. One... two... three. Okay. Aynea looked around for some rocks or loose debris around the nearby shrubbery. "Happy Birthday, mm'heehee..." she whispered to herself and giggled, as she was itching for a chance to use her powers; a single fiery rock the size of her fist was thrown over the gate, somewhere outside the palace, and shattered into a bunch of small fiery fragments. Hoping they would be distracted and run after it to investigate, she ran up the face of the gate's wall and quickly dashed over its edge, into the courtyard before anyone stationed along the towers on the wall could see or hear her.
Aynea was quiet little one, she was. Her plumy tails brushed straight as she made a dash for the nearest door to the main structure. With a leap she thrust herself through the doorway and carefully kicked the sliding door shut behind her so that it would close with hardly a sound. "If I were someone important, where would I be..." pondered Aynea. As she cautiously walked through the great halls towards the core of the building, she thought of it. "The Emperor's court!"
Off the sneaky kumiho went, going from room to room, hall to hall, avoiding men and slipping around corners. Then, she found it. It practically glistened in the light as a choir of a hundred angels from Iego flew about and sang in heavenly bliss. She let out a long, relaxed huff, starstruck for a moment at the beautiful china, masterfully made silverware and perfectly carved wood stands. These look important... I better just... keep an eye on them. She opened the first case and shuffled through a few different pieces. "For the Emperor!" she gleefully joked, rather loudly, as she dug through more and more interesting things. Then she found the holy grail. The Mother Lode. The piece to end all pieces. As she carefully pulled the case over and placed it down carefully, she saw it in its full and unrestricted beauty. Slowly she reached out to touch it... no... grab it, caress the fan of questionable authenticity in her soft hands.
Then she heard the door behind her slowly slide open. In a nervous reflexive fit, she clenched the fan in her fist and dropped the glass covers on the floor. CRASH!!! The pieces of glass were sprawled about on the floor before her. Her tails lit up in a soft flaming glow and a plume of fire engulfed her hands. Kark! No! she thought as she panicked and gazed at the now burning fan. Aynea became a little teary-eyed as she watched flecks of ash fall and blew out the remaining flames. Uh-oh, she realized, darting off in a silent flash to the nearest door on the right and avoiding anyone who was about to enter the room with all her might. Off to the gut of the palace, she pranced.

Unfortunately, little did she know the room was already burning behind her....

Jar'Kai Space Port - Atrisia
(en route to Imperial Tower)

Somarae had never finished a flight check quite so quickly before. Her pulse was racing, there was going to be a battle. Here of all places, there was a war.

Her mouth started to feel far too dry, and she shut her eyes for just a moment, feeling the presence of her wingmen and her gunner around herself.

The Empire stands united. We will overcome.

"Gundark 225, you are cleared for take off."

"Gundark 225 copies, Tower. Launching now," Soma promptly eased her Hell Hawk gunship into the air, opening a channel to the others working with her, "Gundark 225 to all Hell Hawks, keep low and between the buildings as much as possible. Let the Qiangs and Naginatas run top cover and keep away from Fringe fighters if you can. Focus on landed ground forces and any dropships that get through the fighter screen. Make the Empire proud. Good hunting."

The replies were prompt, and Somarae smiled even as the pre-battle tension continued to build in her spine. The two dozen Hell Hawks split into pairs, spreading throughout the city's airspace to support the defending army. Meanwhile squadrons of TIE Qiangs and Naginatas soared in the atmosphere above them, the fighters working together to establish a picket and intercept the next wave of Fringe craft above Jar'Kai. As soon as the airspace above the Port was clear once more, the large frames of Gorgon Bombers took to the air as well, loaded with proton bombs and given a few fighters as immediate cover as they prepared to move on any large landing zones outside the city the planet's sensors detected. Somarae and her wingman flew fast and low down a wide boulevard, making their way towards the Imperial Tower at the city's heart.

Imperial Navy Garrison - Skies Above Jar'Kai:

ATRISIA
SURFACE
EN ROUTE TO PALACE
@[member="Ayña Kottos"]

Shinju moved quicker through the forest then she had hoped to. The palace was something to behold in the distance while she stood there pressed against a tree. Her ability to sense in the force was laughable but she could still find the large building filled with people and the knight pressed against the tree. Her flexibility in the iron skin was just as good as ever as she climbed letting her hair flip back over her shoulder. Two troopers were patrolling with more in the distance as she waited crouched on one of the limbs. THen they went past and she pounced quickly wrapping her leg around one until it hooked properly under his helmet. Her arm going to the other as she punched him feeling something give in his throat with a hiss of air. The three crumpled down to the ground as Shinju squeezed with her ankle and thigh listening for that snap.

There was no time to wait as she looked up and at the face of the man she had punched. Behind his helmet she couldn't see those eyes but she could feel him, feel that emotion and warmth, that energy while he moved to try and grab the rifle. HEr hand shot out pulling at him, at that deep warmth, at the energy within him until he stopped and started to shake. He fell over holding himself while small crystals cracked from the ice. The warmth going into her and making sure she burned a little hotter. Shinju felt the anger, felt the cool rage as he looked up until there was nothing and still she pulled every last bit from him. Her foot came down to test it as all that sounded from his leg was the shattering of ice. Isis had shown her how to steal away until all that was left were frost covered limbs and now she clenched that fist repeating the process.

Her eyes went back towards the palace and that burning sensation was back behind her eyes, the idea of feeding on more of the Atrisian people was amusing, it would be a better way to get them all out of the palace so the real fighters could sneak around with them distracted but then again she could also just flay a few of them and catapult their bodies into the palace for a siege... A classic as it were. It could all come later through while she straightened the Iron skin and took the rifles. The one rifle she set to automatic fire as she held her hand over the barrel and focused. Letting blue light flare into her palm... She squeezed the trigger and felt the jolt of energy from it, felt that sensation of euphoria as more went into her palm and coursed through her body. It let her expand those thoughts of madness in her head until the rifle clicked empty... THe pack expended and her eyes burning with the need to let it all out. She wanted to find someone to fight now.
