Character Tilon Quill

NAME: Tilon Quill, born Tilon Luken
FACTION: TBD
RANK: Jedi Knight, former Sith acolyte
SPECIES: Human, former alchemical test subject
AGE: Adult of indeterminate age; Bowie-like
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: Average
WEIGHT: Wiry
EYES: Orange
HAIR: Reddish to purplish
SKIN: Pale with a bluish tint
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
  • Having spent a good portion of his adult life among the Selkath, Tilon is an excellent swimmer.
  • He is visually distinctive, both by choice and biology; he just plain cannot blend in.
  • Raised primarily on the frigid worlds of Ziost, Hoth, and Pagodon, Tilon is comfortable in cold climates.
  • He has a very broad education in nonhuman Force traditions. He has a large tool kit of abilities, mostly nonlethal.
  • Due to his youth among the Sith, he is hesitant to participate in violence and not particularly good at it. He has no killer instinct and favors the defensive style called Soresu, which limits his offensive options.
  • He has a profound knack for understanding alchemy with a special aptitude for plants.
  • An independent Jedi, he has very limited connections with Jedi institutions and governments, leaving him with few options for allies and support.
  • He speaks a small amount of many languages.
APPEARANCE:
Tilon is lean, colorful, quick with a grin and quick on his feet. He's sometimes kind of...feathery?

BIOGRAPHY:
(Original NPC bio)
  • A student and occasional test subject in the Sorzus Academy until age 12, Tilon knows the Sith well. When Jedi terrorists massacred the young acolytes, Tilon was one of several saved by Darth Daiara Darth Daiara and Jend-Ro Quill Jend-Ro Quill
  • Tilon became Quill's ward, Padawan and, eventually, adopted son. He spent formative years at the Hoth Enclave, the Jakku Enclave, Quill's nearby hermitage, and (after Quill broke from the Jedi) a library on Pagodon.
  • Over Quill's objections, Tilon joined the Jedi and was knighted while still a teenager. Their relationship became strained and distant.
  • Despite his best intentions, Tilon had no aptitude for being a Jedi at war. Many of his tasks involved research, and he put his broad background to use analyzing Sithspawn. On a few occasions he even managed to reverse their modifications or ensure they could live relatively normal, free lives.
  • He has returned often to Ahto City and spent a great deal of time living among the Selkath. As an independent Jedi, he has often served as an unofficial Jedi liaison with the Order of Shasa. He also has friends in the environmentalist movement and helped protest the construction of a megastructure for a galactic economic conference circa 900 ABY.
  • Around the same time, he joined an expedition to visit a community of Mist-Weavers on an obscure world. He became conflicted: though he had grown up collecting techniques from nonhuman Force-sensitives, a Mist-Weaver showed him how that approach, however well-meaning, could be extractive and ethically complicated depending on the power relationships involved. This was a difficult time for Tilon.
  • He signed on to the extragalactic Longjumper's Mark expedition circa 900 ABY, supporting the communications team with his ability to absorb and share languages.
SHIP:
Tilon has often made use of Quill's transport, the North Ridge.

TOOLKIT:
In his father's footsteps, Tilon grew up in eclectic and esoteric environments and has built relationships with several Force traditions. Some highlights:
  • He is unfortunately very familiar with Sith biological alchemy.
  • He has the ability to bend probability like a Suerton gambler, one of his father's most practiced abilities.
  • He has the ability to acquire and instil portions of languages, which his father learned from Gutretee elders; this has been a cornerstone of his father's work.
  • Beginning in his youth, Tilon spent time learning from the Order of Shasa and the Progenitor itself on Manaan. He has spent years in close community with the Order of Shasa and knows their skillset well, particularly Progenitor's Call.
  • He has some skill with the abilities of the Mist-Weavers, and can use mist-weaving for basic disguise applications.
