Quill would rather be left alone whenever possible. He visits major temples and convocations rarely and briefly. He ventures out from his refuges on Jedi business out of a reluctant sense of duty.

TIMELINE
THE CENTRALITY - circa 610 ABY
Quill Sagget is born into the Raskava Order, the so-called Holocron Eaters.
The Raskava diagnose him with the same affliction as the ancient Dark Lord Odion: others' life energies are uncomfortable, even painful.
Quill is a quiet and solitary boy.
ERILNAR - circa 830 ABY
After several years stealing and transcribing knowledge as a Raskava Scriptor (apprentice), Quill helps steal a holocron from a wealthy Ithorian named Jend-Ro.
Another Raskava kills the Ithorian. Overwhelmed by the brutal murder, Quill breaks from his team and they leave him for dead.
CORUSCANT - 835 ABY
Teferi Artemis and Ben Watts re-form the Jedi Order. A quiet, solitary young man named Jend-Ro Quill joins the cause as a Padawan.
Unable to live on heavily-populated Coruscant, Quill bounces between missions and small enclaves in the Rim.
He sees his first war: Omni's Clockwork Rebellion.
CORUSCANT - 838 ABY
After studying with the Ithorian pacifist Boolon Murr, Quill becomes a Jedi Knight. The One Sith sack the Coruscant temple and later kill Boolon.
838-848 ABY
Quill does his duty on various battlefields across the dying Republic. He also sees action during the cataclysmic Netherworld Crisis (844 ABY).
By the time the Mandalorians finally annihilate the Republic, Quill is a Jedi Master and a tired veteran.
Ultimately, he retreats to a small, deserted Jedi enclave that Jorus Merrill built on Hoth in 838.
TIMELINE
HOTH - 848-858 ABY
Quill lives alone as a hermit, keeping a very low profile due to the First Order's control of the region.
The Ssi-Ruuk destroy the First Order. Not long afterward, Wyatt Morga's attempt to reunite the Jedi begins to draw Quill offworld. He also works with the Outer Rim Coalition/Outer Planets Alliance and their Judges.
Through Force-imbued communication stones, Quill accidentally connects with a new 'pen pal', the Silver Jedi Padawan Auteme Denko-Durren. Auteme becomes his research assistant and the closest thing he's had to a Padawan.
THE OUTER RIM - circa 860-861 ABY
Quill succeeds in evacuating the Atrisian Jedi enclave during a rogue Sith offensive.
Quill coordinates evacuation efforts on many Outer Rim planets, including Nadiem and Kesh, ahead of the Bryn'adul genocides. He faces Bryn'adul in combat.
He also takes a leading role in opposing the conquests of the Catharian Hegemony, but finds little success.
To preempt a Jedi strike team from throwing themselves against Tathra Khaeus unprepared, Quill moves to kill the Bryn'adul leader at the evacuated Nadiem Jedi enclave. He fails and escapes with more than his share of scars.
Quill returns to his hermitage on Hoth.
863-864 ABY
Quill begins to lead training sessions and pilgrimages to learn more about the Force from obscure cultures. Having no patience for Jedi schisms and politics, he is an affiliate member of both the Silver Jedi and the Galactic Alliance's NJO, and works with Jedi of all affiliations.
A First Order splinter group occupies Quill's region of Hoth. Quill helps the resurgent First Order defeat them, but chooses to leave his home.
He seeks out and accepts a teaching position at Romi Jade's secret enclave on Jakku.
