GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: The Violet Hawks
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Classification: Armored Column
  • Description: The Violet Hawks is a small Sith-Imperial armored assault force, numbering fifteen vehicles of varying descriptions. Soldiers in the Violet Hawks wear standard Sith-Imperial Legionary uniforms, with the only difference being the unit emblem. The purple star of Lothal, chosen as the units emblem on its creation by Maxir Pellian. The Purple Star of Lothal is worn as a small pin on each soldiers uniform, usually over their hearts.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: The Violet Hawks serve as a fast reaction and heavy hitter force for the Sith-Imperial military. In combat situations, the Violet Hawks rely on their vehicles to fight as a highly mobile unit, hitting the enemy where they are vulnerable and retreating swiftly when necessary. When fighting a defensive war, they operate as a mobile deterrence and harassment force, striking at the enemies flanks or at exposed elements of any advance group. In an offensive war, the Violet Hawks focus on lightning strikes against enemy defensive positions, or maneuvering to flank enemy positions and cut off supply lines. They maintain a small infantry division within the armored column, allowing them to further engage in trench clearing operations, anti-mine operations, as well as establishing a fortified defensive position.
Strengths:
  • Mobile: The Violet Hawks are an armored vehicle column, allowing them to operate across a much wider range of territory than an infantry force can, and maneuver far more quickly. They are able to react swiftly to combat situations across the battlefield at a moments notice, and avoid being pinned down by enemy forces.
  • Versatile: The wide range of vehicles within the Violet Hawks unit allows them to tackle multiple types of enemy opposition and properly respond to rapidly changing and highly specific encounters.
Weaknesses:
  • Jack of All: With a focus on being able to engage any threat that comes their way, the Violet Hawks are not able to specifically specialize in any one category of combat, allowing them to be out gunned and out classed by a specialist division in any straight forward encounter.
  • Anti-Air: The Violet hawks have only limited anti-air weaponry, forcing them to rely heavily on supporting allied air power, or nearby anti-air defenses to protect them from air attack. Failing either, they must simply rely on the limited firepower they have and their mobility.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Violet Hawks are a military unit formed, originally, from the scattered remnants of a Lothal Militia force. When the world came under assault from the extragalactic exterminators, the militia took up arms with other military forces across the world to defend against the invasion, but they stood little chance. A simple corporal at the time, Maxir Pellian made the difficult decision to withdraw his forces from the front lines, and instead focus entirely on evacuating the civilian populace. The rest of his unit, under orders not to withdraw from their posts, were wiped out to the last, with only a scattered group of survivors withdrawing to Maxir's position. There, he rallied them into a rearguard force that held off further assault long enough for several transports and freighters to escape. Only then did they themselves depart the world.

The remnants of the militia made their way towards the Sith Empire, along with a majority of their civilian convoy, where they sought asylum. Only a few days after entering Sith space, Maxir and his men enlisted with the Sith-Imperial Legion, eager to take up arms once again and fight against the foes that took their home, and anyone else that decided to attack the saviors of their people.
