The pointy end

She didn't fully get the joke. "I do not think so." TO which comment she made it uncertain but a chance for them to explore here on the planet and test out their skills. She was checking the scanners and they had a lot of the information about the environment itself. Passing over some parts of it with the screen to show where the jedi had been working on different things for them. Wu was going now until she came to the doors and opening them letting in the crisp air. The light was reflecting off the white marble with a nod of her head. Enjoying the feeling before they all moved around, she came out seeing some fo the jedi moving around and they were setting on tables under some fo the buildings awnings different artifacts.

It was a bad joke, but at the same time possible, something she read once about the Empire experimenting on Wampas at one point and some small rumor of a blue sentient one that spoke in a bastardized version of wokkie, where they true though? Sukai had not idea. "Never mind, it was a silly idea". Parking the craft Sukai hopped out into the literal snow white environment, the cool prick of the mountain hair pinching at her face, "Certainly chilly up here I must say, glad these robes arm warm". Perhaps her should have worn her old face mask as the cool air entering her lunge would soon become a nuisance to the young Jin. Looking around she observed the workers and Jedi walking around, giving a small wave to the odd one that came a little close, "Where to first master".

She looked at her and where could they go... hmm she was thinking about it and just started to walk. The grounds that they were on showed to her a lot of places, buildings and the like. Mostly filled with nothing they were for storage. Something that might be used lter if they needed it. She was prepared for anything that they might be able to find, she was interested in seeing some of the parts that they were pulling out of the rooms from deeper. "It might be interesting to see what we might find inside." She smiled though seeing some of the runes inscribed on the pottery, mats and there were murals from the walls that had faded. Ancient where she could see them but they had other containers of small things like cups, bracelets and older leather outfits.

Sukai cocked her head to the side as she awaited a response from Wu, though did not receive one as the Jedi knight more or less just started to wander about, moving gaze from store house to store house. Finally both stopping in front of on of the many excavation sights, worker and droids milling around the entrance though Sukai's concentration on the odd bit and pieces that were inside. In not time the young Jin was inside the room, eyes glued to the many elaborately decorated pots and jewellery, armor and outfits kept in good condition due to the extreme cold, sparking the historian inside of her. "Yes, very interesting indeed, definitely not sentient wampas or anything, definitely some sort of near human species".

She gave a nod of her head. "There are any number of human species across the galaxy, who knows what they were like." She was curious though and going inside there were some murals, some objects but nothing major. Where she could move about with her padawan though she had a small grin. "It looks like they built from the highest point of the mountain and went down into it. Smart in some ways, they would be able to likely touch some natural caves then they could use. Or model into whatever." hmm she was thinking about it and really trying to figure out where they might be able to go that the teams hadn't. "We'll find something more secluded that hasn't been touched."

What Wu said was true, they could never know what the people who live up her were like, but if she had to take a guess Sukai would think the planets former inhabitants, if they where native, probably looked something like Chiss or Pandorans. Something about blue skin and cold climates just seemed to match, hopefully that was not too racist. "Hmm that is interesting, would allow for better expansion and limit the risk of the tunnels caving in, though that would mean whoever lived here climbed all the way to the top before starting a settlement... why though"?

This was fascinating to the young girl, a mystery that needed to solved or some sort, kind of made her feel like some adventure, similar to that guy who looked very similar to Han Solo, what was his name again? Sukai could not remember, but the tails of his anicent temple and treasure raiding was exciting never the least. "Well then, by all means let us delve deeper into this cavern of adventure, though ill we have to watch out for traps along the way? this may not be a Sith temple, but you never know".

Wu had a theory.. maybe... it was kind of well more just her. "Well the mountains around here would cover and obscure anything settled. If they wanted to grow plants or raise animals. in the shadows away from the sun it wouldn't get much.... though that would be dangerous. THe air is thinner and it gets colder up here." She she was looking at what they might be able to do and she knew some of the things jedi did. Glass gardens and mountains where they could locate thermal vents for the heat. The sun they could get artificial lighting to make it synthetic. It wouldn't be as good but she might be able to get them a few other things. Wu was motioning to her padawan about some of the things. "They could have gardens or vents in the mountain where they would have been able to grow crops and raise animals though."

"That may be true, but who know what technology the natives used to survive, perhaps they were meat eaters only and raised cattle of some sort, perhaps we will know maybe we will not, but I find just the adventure to be rewarding enough, also the natives may be one of those aliens like, oh what where their names again, you know Plo Koons race, they do not require a lot of air to live... maybe a similar species settled here... arg I'm ramabling on again, sorry about that, hee hee". Sukai tended to get a bit overwhelmed when talking about history a bad habit shared by everyone in the Yumi family.

Wu's next comment though made more sense, "yes that could work, and they may have used mirrors of some type to direct sun light down the caves as well as provide light to the inside, the white walls would do wonders for reflecting the beams and dispersing the rays". Sukai rose from her crouched spot, looking further into the cave, "Are you going further in, I would very much like to see more of this place master".

She gave her padawan a look as she clasped her hands behind her back. "I was planning to go inside yes, exploring and having a chance to learn about a new culture possibly or a new species that has been lost well.. it is rather exciting. Exactly what I might have wanted to get off of Tiantang for." She said it and was looking at more of what they had before she started walking and went looking up at some of the jedi researchers who were here. She was smaller then all of them but they were glad to make sure she had all of her equipment and information for going down into the mountain. Wu shook out her head until she got a glow rod and looked at the wals. Where small vents had mirrors reflecting light into the caves, small lattice works of glass carried the light throughout the rooms and was like a thin sheet of ice over most of the surfaces but it cast the room in light."

Sukai was excited about the prospect, but the mention of the Jin home world did raise a few thoughts in the young girls mind. Having lived abroad and on the move Sukai had never really stayed on any planet long enough to call it home, aside from Dantooine, and longed to one day visit her fathers home world but knew so little about it. This played a bit on her mind as the two continued into the cave but soon being pushed to the back of her mind, sniggering a bit at Wus short stature. In time though it seemed both there theories turning out to be true all but on a smaller scale, vent and tiny glass mirror sky lights dotting the walls and roof of the place, "It's so refined and precise... but does not seem to done by any modern tools, must have taken a long time to carve out these caverns bit by bit... do they have an idea on how old this place is"?

Wu was looking at it and they were mirrors, glass even but looked like ice. Something that had frozen over where she touched it. It wasn't ice and it wasn't completely glass but she was curious about it as she walked. "I am not certain what was used, the material looks like ice or glass but it doesn't feel like it." She was more curious but getting a way she would be able to look around and she was looking at Sukai with a small grin appearing on her face. "We can try and see if there is some loose or extra. Just in case to realy experiment and study it but I am not certain if we will. Everything that we have here has mostly been searched so we can go down deeper." She was moving with the bigger and bigger grin on her face though when she pulled out a glow rod to toss it down the stairs.

Like ice or glass, it was a bit puzzling to the young girl/very young vampire, her small hands running along the elaborate decorated engravings and patterns, glass was made from silicon, perhaps this mountain had an abundance somewhere, or was the clear looking ice something enter? "Such strange much mystery", Sukai mused to herself, slowly wandering deeper into the cave system, trying to find a loose or broken piece for which to take, not wanting to damage the walls herself a ruin such fine art. Though she did for a secon give Wu a, 'really' look when she half haphazardly chucked the glow stick down the stairs, "Master, what would have happened if that sets some deadly traps off"? A slight joke but once could never to to careful.

"Hopefully it would have activated and not hurt us." Though as she was looking the strange ice/glass was reflecting the light. Dispersing it across the surface as she looked at the glow appearing. A little brighter around them and she could get a better view. "It is small and soft but this could be smart. The glass or ice doesn't seem to reflect the light to brightly more make it into a soft glow that illuminates the halls without hurting the eyes." Wu was walking and could see more as she spoke. "I don't know what it is though, there is sense a sense of foreboding and more... reverence.. this place wasn't built to become a tomb it was built for something." She didn't know how to explain it. It was in her gut feeling of the place, the stone, intricately carved, the glass ice stuff that illuminated with a little light the halls and rooms easily enough. The way it was clean even this long abandoned. SHe didn't know what to say to the padawan though when she started down the stairs and stood there at the bottom touching the glow rod with a nod of her head.

Sukai gave a slight sigh, but decided to humor the Jedi knight with her own hypothesis, "Yer but sometimes those trap have delayed reactions or block off entrances, what if one was right above where we stood and smashed us into Jedi paste, 'available at your local space port' hmmmmmm"? her gaze shifted to the translucent material that dotted the walls as Wu changed the subject all of a sudden, very sus in her mind. Still it was strange the way the material acted, "Perhaps it is some sort of crystal or rock, you said it was force attuned did you not, maybe because it is neither glass nor ice... or force infused ice, as they say elsewhere, woaaaah mind blown". I could have been true, maybe it was not, but whatever the case one thing was clear, this long abandoned settlement had many secrets to give and much to explore... what was their original mission again?

Hmm her padawan was correct about it. There could have been a delayed reaction for them to be in danger. One could never be too certain but one of the things a jedi needed to be certain about was these sorts of things. Where she was looking though to go down deeper was into the depths of it, with the padawan and everything that they had. "It could be something, maybe we'll be able to figure it out or maybe we'll just be confused and want more questions but either way." She said ti and let it trail off though while walking and retriev ed the glow rod from the bottom as it went into a lalrger chamber. Tarranced sections with the material and vents that were streaming sunlight down through glass mirrors and shafts to go around everywhere. The overgrown sent of rotted fruits and veggies could be there in the background and it was old where she looked. "I think we found one of their green houses."

Confused, want more question? not really something Sukai wanted to hear, the thought of getting to the bottom of this mystery and finally knowing all that facts was itching at her history buff mind. Heck she would spend the next 50 years exploring the depths of this ruin if it meant finding out its secrets, though it was not like 50 was a long time to Sukai, though Wu probably would not be as fortunate, "I would very much prefer to know the answer instead of asking more questions master".

As the two continued their trek further into the tomb like structure a slight smell of plant life entered Sukai's nose, not to dissimilar from an indoor garden, which want the next room turned out to be, but with more a greenhouse vibe to it. Sukai quickly put a hand to her nose, blocking the smell of the rotten plant, "More like stink house, gess, how long has this stuff been here for"? With the cold air and seeming to be un-rat-infested cave system such plant life may have been around for hundreds of years.

Wu nodded her head in agreement once the smell came to her. She was uncertain about it here, she hadn't smelled it at first but her padawan had higher senses then she did... Which explained a few things when she was passing through. "I do not know how long but if it was under the right conditions. I imagine it wouldn't really have anywhere to go except up and there is not many elements to speed of the decay." She was curious though while they moved around, staying at attention in case there was something or anything down here. She paused while walking towards some of the areas, different alcoves and hallways that went down deeper.... and there was a feeling in her gut. Like she shouldn't go that way and didn't know how to explain it turning back to look at the padawan and then some of the other parts of the room. "It is hard to explain, I have never been here but there is a sense of forboding everytime I want to go into these rooms."

Sukai was not very acquainted with plants, all the talk about decay and effecting elements going over her head, just increasing the girls sense of wonder about the abandoned ruins, that were not really ruins at all. "So in a sense your saying there plants here very well might be over several decades old or more"? This empty complex just kept getting weirder and weirder, left in such a fine condition, hardly any sigh people lived here besides the small item they found at the entrance, though that just made this even weirder, like the people who once inhabited this complex just, vanished all of a sudden. "You have a bad feeling about this, is that what your saying? I have had such feeling many a times while searching through other ruins, most of the time it proved true, though this place feels, different". Like a small sense of danger but with a overwhelming feel of interests, beckoning one further into its depths.

She was thinking how best to explain it. "yes and no, like there is a buzzing in my head when I get close to it but it isn't wicked or evil... more just wanting me to not go that way and avoid it." She was looking at her when she was trying to put the feling she had itno words where she was going. Letting the force guide her when she was going through all of it. Opening the pathways with the scent of old mold and she could see some of the other parts here. Curtains and cloths that were moth eaten, small holes in them while she walked towards another chamber filled with seats and murals of different jedi but they had notable robes and different methods. Helping people, giving out supplies as well as handling the area as peacekeepers barely taking their sabers from their hips while handling mediation. She could see some other places where they were hiding children from armored soldiers and dark jedi. Families as well as everything that was coming after them all."

Okay now she was confused, but perhaps it was something not force related, like "Spirits of the past or maybe the natural force giving for warning, there are many a places that spring to mind which are connected to the force but are neither light nor dark". Whatever the case the duo decided to press on besides the slight foreboding coming from within, 'trust in the force, let it guide you' , Sukai taking in a deep breath as the ventured further, the stench of old and damp cloth replacing the old smell of rooting leaves.

The room they had entered felt like that of a Jedi temple, the murals and tapestries along the wall giving her a good indication, but it was not any type of Jedi temple she had seen before, or heard of, what's more the Jedi in the pictures seemed more, passive, more protectors then warriors. "These pictures, those are dark Jedi... not Sith... is it possible this place, this temple is from the old republic era? Maybe a place for Sages and councilors"? Sukai was somewhat familiar with the old Jedi ranking system, with Knights sentinels, sages and so on, each taking on a different task for the order, though she may be wrong.
