[*]Description: The Jen' Lazea (Sith for Dark Legion) is a vast amalgamation of fringe Graug warbands and the former Horde of Fornow that joined the New Sith Empire under the direction of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Carnifex. As in the time of the Old Empire the Graug have sworn allegiance to the new Empire, once again assimilating into a massive war force ready to spill out from the Empire's borders to rain terror and destruction upon the enemies of the Dark. These butchers are led by the monstrous Malgrog, the terrible warchief of the Fornow Horde. Long has he served the Sith diligently, slaughtering hundreds of Jedi and lesser soldiers in their name. He alone possesses the fury and cruelty needed to manage such a gargantuan host of barbarous raiders.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The smartest and strongest rise to the top, while the dumbest and the weakest cretins are made to serve and die at their behest.
High Warlord of the Jen' Lazea - The leader of the Dark Legion and coordinator of their transplanetary war effort, he is considered the strongest among the Graug and serves as the Sword of the Dark Lord's wrath upon the Light. The current High Warlord of the Legion is Malgrog, and he holds this position alone through sheer strength of will, cunning, and physical prowess that has led to the deaths of many would-be usurpers.
  • Warlords of the Clans - The various leaders of the Graug clans and warbands that had united under Malgrog's leadership to fight for the Sith Empire. Each answers to the High Warlord, but in turn they rule with absolute authority over their own clans.
  • Centurions - Mainly comprised of Hyal'Hâsk the Centurions act as the officers and commanders of the Graug clans, often working alongside the Warlords and utilizing their superior intellect to coordinate battlegroups and concoct strategies and targets of attack.
  • Legionnaires - Typically Legionnaires are Graug of noticeable cleverness and exceptional strength, surviving longer than most of their lesser kin as seasoned veterans of carnage.
  • Grunts - The basic Graug soldier is considered a Grunt, another individual in the sea of destruction set loose by the Sith Empire to terrorize and demolish their foes.
  • Scouts - Those who are considered weak by the Graug are often relegated as scouts, reporting on enemy activities and locations to better assist the Legion in a way that their lack of strength could not.
  • Slaves - Cretins displaced by the Legion's swath of destruction are often put into shackles and used as slave labor or used to feed the ever expanding horde, although it is not uncommon for higher ranking Graug or Hyal to take female slaves as concubines to boost their own status among the Legion. The life of a Graug concubine is short and monstrously cruel.
  • War Beasts - Following besides the Graug and their machines of war are horrific beasts like the Graunk, the Glycons, or the ferocious Warghests. They each have their own purpose and are bred exclusively for that purpose.

[*]Membership: The Jen' Lazea is comprised of many horrific species dedicated to tearing apart the Light:
  • Graug - The baseline soldier of the Legion. Vicious warriors from Gratos draped in heavy armor and wielding oversized weapon of unnecessary brutality. They often serve under the more intelligent Hyal'Hâsk, but it is not uncommon for Graug to rise high within the ranks of the Legion.
  • Hyal'Hâsk - Born from a mixture of Graug and Eldorai DNA on the ruined world of Kaeshana, the Hyal'Hâsk are the pinnacle of genetic engineering to create a warrior that possesses the power and brutality of the Graug and the intelligence and critical thinking of the Eldorai. They are often found leading war bands of Graug into battle as Centurions, directing the action from fortified positions or even riding out among them to partake in the bloodshed.
  • Graut - Diminutive and weak, the Graut are often considered as little more than cannon fodder and peons by the larger and stronger Graug warriors. They serve best as servants to smiths and can often be found trudging around armories and forges doing various tasks for their brutish masters, or being used to swarm enemy embattlements like a tide of fetid vermin.
  • Multi-Species Mercenaries - While the bulk of the Jen' Lazea is of the Graug (and their subspecies) persuasion, they have not been opposed to accepting paid mercenaries into their ranks of a wide variety of species. As long as they possess a penchant for murder and cruelty that lives up to Graug and Sith standards, they're acceptable.

[*]Dogma/Doctrines: The Dark Legion only has one creed: "Mazauk agh Matum". It is the Graug phrase for "War and Death", and is attributed to the entirety of Graug lifestyle and religion. The Dark Legion primarily venerates the War God, gifting him with blood and sacrifice so that their reign of terror may continue unabated across the stars. The Legion scrawls the War God's favored words, "Mazauk, Mokum, and Ghâsh" upon their weapons, shields, and armor in hopes to honor him by splattering the inscribed words with copious amounts of the enemy's blood and offal. The Legion also makes pleas to the Harvest God, desiring plentiful booty from the planets they raid in the name of the Empire. Of the total sum of loot collected in battle, one fifth of the bounty is burned in a great trough of white-hot flame as a sacrifice to ensure continual lucrative harvests.
[*]Curios: The Legion often carries Imperial and Graug symbols on their persons, and many have even gone as far as to brand themselves with the Legion's mark. Beyond that they adorn themselves with the trinkets taken from the corpses of their enemies, modifying their armor constantly to reflect the spoils of victory.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Sith have often gathered to their cause the most abhorrent and wretched of creatures eager to ravage and destroy for the mere pleasure of it. None have ever been as constant or reliable as the Graug from Gratos, hulking brutish butchers who revel in the debauchery of war and the Dark Side of the Force. They first came to serve the Old Empire during the reign of Emperor Moridin where they were often considered to be dullards and little more than beasts by the majority of the Sith despite the Graug being led by a Sith Lord of their own species. One of the only Sith who saw the rancid potential in the Graug was Kaine Zambrano who dedicated himself to learning everything about the Graug that he could, and was eventually rewarded by inspiring loyalty within a select few of the Horde, namely a monstrous warrior named Malgrog.

When the Old Empire began to collapse, the Graug Horde was similarly fractured by two opposing camps; those who remained loyal to Darth Vulcanus, and those who were loyal to the former Emperor Kaine Zambrano and Malgrog. Those that remained behind would suffer catastrophic defeat at the hands of the Mandalorians and the Republic, while those who followed Kaine would have their dedicated repaid when the Sith Lord took the throne of his homeworld Panatha and gifted them the planet of Fornow for them to model in their own image.

The Graug Horde loyal to Kaine colonized and terraformed Fornow over the course of nearly a decade, turning the once heavily forested planet into a grotesque quagmire of continent-sized quarries and fetid swamps as they mercilessly stripped the planet of its resources and began to mine deeper into the planet's surface to fuel the Sith Lord's ever growing war machine. But, all good things must come to an end, and Kaine Zambrano would eventually be ousted from his kingdom by the First Order. In his exodus he took the Graug with him and had them resettle on Belkadan in the Outer Rim. There they were again allowed to spread and transform the planet to fit their needs, and were reforged into a new entity at the behest of the newly crowned Dark Lord of the Sith.

They were no longer a simple Horde, they were now a Legion of barbarous brutes dedicated to extinguishing the light which they abhor with a deep-rooted hatred. On that day the Jen' Lazea -- the Dark Legion -- was born, and they vowed to serve the New Sith Empire and destroy all who opposed the hungering dark.
