The Dusty Borderlands of Karn
Planet Karn, Somewhere in the Outer Rim

Just south of the Empty Yellow Steppes and Forgotten Place Peak, nestled nearby New Sandy Death and the Old No-Water Dunes, was a flat strip of desert badlands called Monday's Place. And it was the perfectly perfect, place to probably start.

Now, Monday was a pretty little blonde gal herself. She once hailed from Corellia and owned a dog, graduated from college, dated a few Space-Ball players, and built starships for the Cor-Corps of Corellia. Then, well, probably ten years ago, she crashed landed on this horrible planet called Karn with a bunch of other Corellian refugees. Most of whom all died terrible-terrible deaths in the badland's open desert. No thanks to a wild list of terrible terrible things. Including a wildly hostile environment, dangerous thorny wildlife, long forgotten sink holes, land mines, bad Tinder dates, and the ever-present threat of savage psycho brain-eating Desert Raider groups. But mostly. Well. Just Raiders. Because, honestly? Raiders probably got cha' first. Luckily. Monday herself wasn't just a cool, smart ass Corellian babe with a knack for machines and deep desert survival. Oh no. She was a cool, smart Corellian babe with an automatic grenade launcher and a desperate need to kill bandits too! Probably for their old stashes of hidden car, speeder, land raider, and spaceship parts. And yes, Monday's killed ALOT of Raiders too. Woo.

Anyway. Fast forward ten years to the present. Monday's Place was a happy little car repair shop located in the middle of the planet's most dangerous flat strip of desert. Run by a pretty little blonde gal, decorated nicely, self sustaining, just a few automated death turrets, and often visited by local traders, survivialists, miners, prospectors, scoundrels, and monster hunters. But mostly... As with today. Just, Monster Hunters.

"So then hero?"

The bubbly little Monday herself smiled and with a swing of her giant hyper-spanner.

"How's about a little monster hunting, eh?"

"Why Miss Moxxi, Miss Moxxi." Samatharis of Rulon gave a wide and theatrical bow, "...I thought you'd never ask. Again! Haha."

"Well burn my britches girl. It's about, damn, time. Hehe!"

The colorfully adorned and, (always crazy,) Monday took Samatharis by the arm and escorted her outside to the front of the garage.

"Well howdy about that. Look Sammy! It appears the galaxy got my message. Them's other folks starships coming in for a landing!"

Sam accepted Monday by the arm and skipped happily out into the warm desert air,

"Why Miss Moxxi, Miss Moxxi. I do believe we have company for this little hunt of yours. Ha. How about that?"

Together the two gleeful woman stood out by the shade of the tall garage sign post. Watching as new adventurers and heroes of every kind, made their approach.

"Introductions then?" Monday exclaimed over the thrust and wind of the approaching star vessels.

"Why not? Let's see who's come to say hello?"

The wild and perky Miss Monday gave herself a deep bow in kind.

After all.

It was time to see who had shown up to the party.

* * *

ooc: Welcome to Monday's Garage. The only mostly-safe car repair shop on the whole planet. :p
Miss Moxxi Monday has a job for a brave group of Monster Hunters and she's paying in galactic credits and precious high fives!
Swing by and let's get this adventure rolling. :D
Grenade Launchers optional, but welcome, post order is disabled since we are so many, and as always,
BYOB bishes!

This was certainly not a typical operation for Shai. She was a smuggler, weapons developer and blacksmith... with some Sith hunting on the side now and then. Working as a merc to wipe out pests wasn't a normal job she would accept.

But she had nothing better to do and wanted to let off some steam. Shooting a bunch of pests into the next system seemed like a pretty good idea to fulfill that need.

When she finally touched down close to the garage, she slipped on her helmet and made sure her armour's temperature control was active. With everything set she left the cockpit of her freighter and lowered the boarding ramp.

The resulting wave of heat quickly made her push the air conditioning up another few ticks.

The Shistavanen walked down the ramp with one hand resting on her particle pistol and the other slinging her carbine around her body. "Am I late or early?!" she called out to the two women a few meters away. "The name's Shai. Saw you bunch had a bit of a pest issue." she introduced herself as she held out a hand for them to shake.

Aloy was in need of a break. A break from planning wars, From politics and from leadership. And what better way to spend a vacation than hunting? She'd spent a vacation very similarly some time ago on the planet Karn, Hunting monsters for a cute mechanic girl named Monday, And her Jedi employee, Sam.
Though it didn't last long, She enjoyed herself, Enjoyed the company and even got a
custom speeder built by Monday's own two hands(And maybe some imperial parts).

So imagine her surprise when she saw Monday's name attached to another contract?

So she loaded up that speeder and took off, Headed straight for Karn with all the monster killing equipment she and Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla could carry.

4o1aKMA.png
The Sabre-1 (Which Shai Maji Shai Maji might recognize as "The Screech owl") touched down gently, Barely a walk from Monday's garage. It sat at a funny angle, But the gyroscopic interior sat comfortable upright, Keeping the cargo and passengers safe and sound while they waited for the boarding ramp to extend.

A moment later, Aloy came walking down the ramp with one hand on the speeder she and Monday had built, And the other holding her helmet under her arm.

A lot had changed since she and Monday last met however. For one, Her right leg had been severed at the thigh, Replaced with a
clawed prosthetic that seemed to click and clack as it gripped with ramp with magnetic talons.

For two, Her
armor had been replaced entirely with pure beskar that gleamed silver in the few scars scratched into it's blue paint, Accented by the white trim around her visor, The odd handprint on it's dome and shark-like teeth painted on her cheek plates, Much like the old starfighters that Monday might have even built now that Aloy thought about it.

But under all that blue armor and cybernetic replacements, Aloy was still the smooth and red mercenary that Monday had met all that time ago. Same short red hair(Albeit an inch or two longer now) and the same mischievous grin as she caught sight of the mechanic and Sam.

"Yo! Mon-daaaaaay!" She calls out, Picking up the pace until the speeder was at the bottom of the ramp, Allowing her to let go and jog up to the two
"Chit, I really must apologize. Seems I wasn't as thorough an exterminator as I thought last time"

With the initial excitement subsiding now, She glances at both Shai and Samatharis, Both of whom she recognized from previous adventures and mishaps, But Shai especially.

"Jedi, Shai" She nods to each respectively "Today's full of familair faces huh?"

The last time Kranak could remember getting some R&R was months ago in Kashyyyk. He was in the pursuit of bounties and mercenary contracts ever since. Though on occasions he fought alongside his vode; for his clan and The Enclave. Though if it weren’t for his clan Alor, he probably would’ve gone and continued chasing after a bounty in the underbellies of Coruscant or a similar wretched planet for several more months. She had mentioned a contract on Karn recently. They’d be hunting Sandrakes for a local; with a good price for each of their heads.

This contract wouldn’t count as an actual rest and relaxation for the giant but it would be a nice, much needed change of pace for him. And the fact that he’d be paid for what he practically does for a hobby in his spare time? He couldn’t pass it up, deciding to join Aloy on this one.

tQcpQG0.png

The Screech Owl gently shook as her landing gears met the coarse, sandy terrain. Unbuckling the co-pilot’s seat belt, the giant stood up from the seat and made for the ship’s boarding ramp at the rear, accompanying the clan Alor.

The ship was small for a man of his stature. He had to frequently duck his head while navigating through the interior of the ship. Some of the corridors were also a bit too narrow for him as well. He had to walk sideways occasionally while making his way to the ship’s cargo hold to get ready for the contract.

Upon reaching the cargo hold and the rear boarding ramp, the giant loaded his ECM 598 Medical Backpack at the back of Aloy’s speeder, along with some hunting equipment they brought. After loading the supplies, the Ori’ramikad slung his Westar-M5 over his chest and reached for his greatsword. He tied the straps of the beskad’s sheath tightly on the left side of his War Belt, over his left blaster pistol holster on the long black Kama. He had already performed half a dozen gear checks on his equipment and weapons during the down time in hyperspace while they were enroute to Karn, so he was set for the contract.

It had been a long while since the last time he wielded a beskad. He was trained in the use of the beskad along with his melee training, but it was safe to say he was a bit rusty when it came to his swordsmanship. He hoped this contract would prove to be a good opportunity to get the hang of the beskad once more.

The rear boarding ramp lowered, with its hydraulics hissing gently. What laid before them was a garage in the middle of a coarse, arid desert; with a number of large caliber automated turrets dotted around the compound. The giant raised one eyebrow at the sight. The defense hardware here would prove formidable for platoons worth of troops. He wondered if the automated defense grid was built to hold out against the Sandrakes, or something far worse and dangerous than them. If the former was the case, they’d have a lot of Sandrakes to kill today.

"Yo! Mon-daaaaaay!" She calls out, Picking up the pace until the speeder was at the bottom of the ramp, Allowing her to let go and jog up to the two

Said Aloy joyfully as she walked down the boarding ramp and jogged towards a group of three. A female Shistavanen clad in beskar’gam, a well dressed woman and another with plain desert clothing. The Ori'ramikad followed after Aloy with a slow pace as he gently pulled the speeder bike from where she left it, bringing it into the garage and joining her in the small group in the compound.

To the giant it seemed like Aloy had some catching up to do with these people. He didn’t want to interrupt them, so he kept it to himself until he was referred to, silently studying the terrain around him with an impassive gaze underneath his buy’ce; his left hand casually resting on the pomel of his greatsword. He'd get acquainted with them soon enough anyway.

Morgayne left her ship, opting to take a speeder and ride "sidesaddle" towards the group rather than use her repulsorpack, which she had made a few modifications to in order to enhance its speed. Already the Melodie saw a few vode. On the way to Karn, she'd practiced with her beskad, knowing that although she was well trained in it, she was used to being underwater and thus having a greater range of motion, and would need to practice being out of water with it. The young Alor waved at the group. "Su cuy'gar!"

Sam gave a smug nod to so many visitors in beskargam. This was going to be an easy job with so many professionals. Nice!

Dressed in dark expensive clothing, fur trimmed boots, and a light weight silver fox fur vest, Samatharis looked a bit too cosmopolitan for a warrior. However the lightsaber she wore on her belt told the rest of the story. The brunette stepped forward and shook Shai Maji Shai Maji hand with a light greeting,

"Heya. Right on time. ...I'm Sam. This is Monday. Welcome to Karn."

Then Aloy and her giant companion arrived with a warm hello. Two beautiful speeder bikes in tow.

"BABY!?" Monday dropped her spanner with a gasp.

"Oh uh..." Sam pursed her lips.

"Aloy! OMG! Baby!"

"Sorry." Sam shrugged to Shai, "They're just friends. It's a long story. Don't ask."

Then. Just as quickly as Sam could dismiss it. Monday gleefully jumped up and down with joy. After all. Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla , the red-headed sexy-love of Monday's whole life, had just returned. ...Well. Let me rephrase. When I say 'love', I mean...

"Omg! I missed you! Yippee!"

Monday jumped into Aloy's arms.

Almost dropping the poor Alor's helmet in the process. Causing Sam to just slap a palm over her face. Monday's gleeful appearance was such an embarrassment some times. Oh bother. Pull it together Moxxi. Jeb'us.

"Omg!
Did you miss me!? I super-honky-tonk missed you Red! Like, omg. Why didn't you call? I would have washed! Fo'realz'sies."

"Monday. Please. We have guests? Remember?"

"Omng. Shut it Sammy' baby. Can't you see I'm swooning! I'm swooning here!"

Monday was indeed doing her best 'swooning' in Aloy's arms. It was kinda heavy. And sad. Derp.

"Yeah. Great. ...Anyway. Heya Red. Welcome back." Sam stepped forward and gave a nod to Aloy and her tall companion, Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla ,

"Sup. Looking good big guy. Like that sword."

"Omg! Sam. Don't be such a stiff!" Monday peeled away from Aloy and bounced up and down. The poor blonde was clearly, just, a bit insane. She picked up her giant spanner wrench and waved it at the sky,

"Ahem. Speech time! Welcome Mando peoples! I am Miss Monday Moxxi. Warlord of Karn and the greatest wasteland mechanic of all time!"

"It's, Miss Moxxi Monday." Sam whispered. "You got it backwards again Mon."

"SHUT UP SAMMY BABY! ...The Goddess is talking. Ahem. Now. Where was I?" Monday clapped back.

"Right. Sry."
Sam rolled her eyes.

"Anyway... As I said. I'm Miss Moxxi. The great Miss Moxxi Monday for short. Warlord of Karn and the best mechanic. Ever. Don't you forget it."

"Um. Monday." Sam pointed back to the newcomers. There was a another gal just arriving. Morgayne Muirgheal Morgayne Muirgheal via side saddle, "We've got more people coming."

"The frell!? MORE people!?"
Monday gasped.

Sam and Monday both waited until the newest beskar wearing mermaid lass pulled up to the party. Sam gave her a salute.

"Heya. Welcome to Karn. I'm Sam. This is Shai, Aloy, that's tall guy, and that there is..."

"Hi! I'm Monday! Omg! Are you a fish!? Fetchin' frell mate!? Bite my arse and call me a donkey! That's amazing! I want to pinch you! Squeee!"

Sam slapped a palm over her face again. Oh gods. There she goes again. Force save us.

"Moxxi... Please. Decorum. She's in full armor. Ugh. ...Hi. Sorry about her. She's..."

"I fetchin', LOVE HER! Omg! Aloy baby look! She's adorable. Omg. I wanna hug. Can I have a hug?"

Monday's eyes were practically watering with love and affection for Morgayne. Her bottom lip wouldn't stop quivering for a hug. Even if she was adorned like a bad-ass warrior and driving a custom bike to boot. Poor gal.

"Anyway." Sam gave a wave to everyone now present. While Monday fawned over Morgayne, it appeared the Jedi would have to do the morning briefing.

"Welcome all. Thanks for coming. We've got a few more people arriving in just a few minutes. So we'll go ever the mission briefing in just a few minutes. Until then. Feel free to gas up at the pumps or get a bite to eat at the Shop N'Go. The junk droid who works the counter is friendly enough."

Meanwhile,

Monday was busy poking a finger at Kranak's full arsenal of supplies. Curious as a baby. "...Ooo. Are you a medic? Do you have any bacta? I love, love, to drink bacta smoothies. So tasty."

Sam just ignored the colorful blonde's mindless comments and continued.

"So yeah. we'll fill you in on the monsters and pricing in just a moment. There are digi-maps over in the store if you fancy landscaping the terrain and all that. Weather looks clear and hot for the rest of the day. Monday? How's our bandit report coming?"

The bubbly blonde poked up her head from behind Aloy's speeder,

"They're dead! I killed dumb Baron Bloodhound just last weekend. Fluckin' fooly fart-tard. Rammed a rusty spear, right through his eye! Hahaha! Oh, Sam. You should seen it. It was beautiful. Beau'tif'ful. Awww. My finest murder spree yet!"

"Right... Gross. Eww." Sam nodded with distaste. "Anyway. So I guess that means we won't have too many bandit raids to worry about. Succession usually means the bandits will be fighting one another for the Baron crown for a little while. So we should be free to hunt the badlands today. No problem."

Monday leaned over Aloy's speeder bike like a slippery snake and started to draw circles on the seat with her fingers, "...Ooo. Is this where Red parks her cute bahooty when she rides. Mmm. Bootyyy... Hehe... Mmmm..."

"Moxxi. Hey. No daydreaming about Red's butt. Focus. Focus." Sam snapped her fingers lightly.

"Urrrrgh. ...Fine." The blonde slithered off Aloy's seat. Much depressed.

"Anyway. Okay people. Just a few more newcomers and we'll start the brief and then we'll turn you loose on the badlands for some hunting. Again! Thanks for coming. I think everybody will make a pretty penny today with plenty of money to go around. Nice!"

Sam clasped her hands together and adjourned introductions. They all had a moment to explore the garage, refuel, re-ammo, and get a lay of the land. Meanwhile. I'm sure Sam would be available for questions while Monday tried to swiggly-swooty up to Aloy again for a quick spot on her 'Smexy girlfriends' list. Pfft. Ugh. Man?

I guess some things never change?

Sheesh.

The girls introduced themselves... however that was not Shai's highlight at all. A very familiar ship descended down close to her own freighter. "Well I'll be damned..." she muttered as her old friend came marching down the boarding ramp along with a particularly big friend in tow. "Yeah well, that makes two of us. I haven't seen her in ages as well." she commented as she removed her helmet and glanced at Sam.

Unfortunately reunions were going to have to wait as Monday completely lost it with Aloy. She watched on as the girl freaked out around Aloy, making her way to the brute of a Mando that came with Aloy. "Something tells me she missed her." she quipped as she glanced up at the man, holding out a hand for him. "Name's Shai. Don't think we've met before." she introduced herself with a smile.

Soon Monday declared speech time and Shai stared on with borderline horror. Slowly she made her way to Aloy's side and gave her a tap on the arm. "Sorry if my enthusiasm isn't as over-karking-whelming as hers, but I am glad to see you again. How've you been?" she greeted the girl with a hushed voice and a warm smile as her crimson eyes looked her over. "Glad to see you haven't lost any other limbs while I was gone." she joked with a slight snicker.

When Sam spoke up, Shai finally paid full attention. It might have been judgemental, and Shai would feel bad about it later, but she hoped that the crazy blonde wasn't coming along... unless her knowledge of the area was so great that it would outweigh the fact that she was louder than Shai could ever be.

The miriad of new faces was also going to be an adjustment. She would have to try and get to know them while on the hunt. For now, she was hungry and dearly missed a good friend.

With the briefing over, she gave Aloy another tap and gestured towards the shop. "Buy you a snack or somethin'?"

If her attemps of stealing Aloy away for a moment were successful, Shai would walk with the girl towards the shop. "Kark me, it's been a while. I've been wanting to make a trip over to Vizsla central but life's been keeping me busy. How's things been going with the clan?" she would ask as she walked.

"Alright Monari, I'll see you later. The holotapes should still be on the chest of drawers, just put em back when you're done. Keep Talohn out of trouble now." The Mirialan waved goodbye to the little Cathar hybrid as Leea swung onto a speeder and sped off. She might have landed closer, but this gave the soldier turned pilot the opportunity to surveil the landscape she would be working with.

The world was hot, far warmer and dryer than she was accustomed to or preferred. Leea was thankful she wasn't wearing heavy armor, as it was she wore a simple fabric clothing in lighter bland colour with a wrap around more of her head. She burned easily and this planet was not going to be fun in that regard. She could almost imagine the skin peeling off of her a week from now, when the sunburns were healing. Nonetheless, Leea liked the looks of the place and she looked forward to seeing what the hunt would bring. Aside from the reward incentive, this was an opportunity to explore. People, places, creatures, all of it.

It was only a few minutes by speeder bike, and soon she found herself before a rather curious station. As she dismounted and walked towards the group of people near the entrance Leea recognized a few faces, well more like the armour worn, as well as some new people. Rolling down a dust-filled veil away from her mouth, Leea called over, "Well, looks like I can't get away from you guys huh!" She waved for a moment before turning her attention to a rather peculiar person in the group. Walking the distance she asked of Morgayne, "You a Mando too? I don't believe we've met, name's Pandac, though you can call me Leea."

"Hey mon, How's it been~" ∗gagh∗ Monday was all over her before she realized what was happening, Swooning in such a way that Aloy had to hold the poor thing up.

Omg! Did you miss me!? I super-honky-tonk missed you Red! Like, omg. Why didn't you call? I would have washed! Fo'realz'sies.

"Hmh. Missed you too darlin'! Sorry about that, Reception out here's weak as republic propaganda" She shakes her head while patting Monday on the shoulder, Though she had to take a step back and let her prosthetic leg adjust it's footing to hold them both up.
Truth be told, She was surprised that the Mechanic hadn't taken notice of the metallic replacements where her leg used to be. Seeing as it was still rather fleshy when they last spoke.

She was also surprised that the time and distance between them hadn't done anything to dampen the love-struck mechanic's feelings for her. In fact, It seemed to have only strengthened it. Funny, She might have come back to her too, If not for her
Blue.

Lucky for her, Sam brought the other guests to Monday's attention, Which resulted in a short speech that drew a chortle from Aloy. Immediately after, Monday became distracted by the side-saddled Mer-mando, Giving Aloy time to slip away.

Sorry if my enthusiasm isn't as over-karking-whelming as hers, but I am glad to see you again. How've you been?" she greeted the girl with a hushed voice and a warm smile as her crimson eyes looked her over. "Glad to see you haven't lost any other limbs while I was gone."

She looked over her should immediately, Smiling just a moment later as she caught sight of the familiar shistavanen that had tapped her pauldron
"I mean, You never know. You've never seen me without gloves, Shai" She chortles while wiggling her leather-clad fingers at Shai

"Buy you a snack or somethin'?"

"Kark me, it's been a while. I've been wanting to make a trip over to Vizsla central but life's been keeping me busy. How's things been going with the clan?

Speaking of the clan, It draws a bit of a sigh from her before she nods and follows Shai, Waving Leea Pandac Leea Pandac and Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla off as she turns away
"
You two catch up and have fun, I'll be just a minute!"

It wasn't until she was out of earshot that spoke up, Resting one very much organic hand on Shai's shoulder as they walked, But never making eye contact
"It's been hard, Owl... I've become the master of my own fate, But missed the fate of the very union I fought for..." She sighs, Her other fist clenching "But I think you all know why I left."

"Ma just ain't been the same since Wayland. She barely talks to me or Jan, Just sits in her lab... Darsch is back too, With a kid. But she ain't the same either. Guess I can't be looking to the past anymore, Too ghosts wearing familiar faces..."

"Roon's pleasant enough though. Not a lot of us Vizslas left to share it with, But the mountains are as beautiful as they are cold... I'm planning on proposing to Blue on top of the one outside my home, Actually. Got a ring made from Phrik for the occasion, And a potential foundling we might raise, Or we might try cloning if that doesn't work out"
She smiles warmly, Despite the previously grim tone. Blushing even.

"And then after, It's back to war where House Vizsla belongs. We've been fighting the Yhuuzan Vong on Kestri, Wiped them out with The Enclave recently. And, We're fighting in the Eclipse Rebellion against the Eternal Empire, The Sith Empire's corporate backers. We steal from Sith shipments before the emperor even sees them, And use the resources we raid to build us a home at "Vizsla central" as you call it. I'm doing my part in the war, For my people. But I'm doing it My way."

"Well met Morgayne, I look forward to working with you." Leea was just glad she had managed to speak the name without a catch. That was a bit of a mouthful for one less accustomed to longer names. Momentarily distracted by Aloy's greeting, the Mirialan waved to Kranak before turning back to the Melodie. "If I may be so bold, I've never met one of your kind before, is it difficult to travel, or take part in something like these hunts?"

He scanned the terrain laid before him with a watchful gaze, while his clan Alor and others began exchanging pleasantries. The terrain was more or less similar with that of Tatooine’s barren deserts and desertified plains. The giant assumed he wouldn’t have issues navigating the terrain. He had hunted some game, as well as bounties in Tatooine before, so he was somewhat used to moving in arid terrain such as this, whether on foot or by a speeder-bike.

The ensuing conversation between the hunt participants caught his ear. He broke his gaze from the sandy, coarse terrain and turned his gaze towards the hunt participants, listening to the conversation that ensued between the parties involved.

"Omg! I missed you! Yippee!"

"Hey mon, How's it been~" ∗gagh∗

"Omg! Did you miss me!? I super-honky-tonk missed you Red! Like, omg. Why didn't you call? I would have washed! Fo'realz'sies."

"Hmh. Missed you too darlin'! Sorry about that, Reception out here's weak as republic propaganda"

"Yeah. Great. ...Anyway. Heya Red. Welcome back." Sam stepped forward and gave a nod to Aloy and her tall companion, Kranak Vizsla ,"Sup. Looking good big guy. Like that sword."

[“You can call me Kranak. Well met.”] The giant replied to Sam’s kind gesture.

"Omg! Sam. Don't be such a stiff!" Monday peeled away from Aloy and bounced up and down. The poor blonde was clearly, just, a bit insane. She picked up her giant spanner wrench and waved it at the sky,

"Something tells me she missed her." she quipped as she glanced up at the man, holding out a hand for him. "Name's Shai. Don't think we've met before."

The giant Ori’ramikad turned to the Shistavanen vod shortly after she referred to him. The witty remark got a chuckle out of him. [“It certainly seems like it.”] Kranak grasped her hand, giving the fellow vod a firm handshake. [“The name’s Kranak, vod. Pleased to meet you.”] The giant spoke, his sonorous voice filled with joy. Meeting more Mandalorians always made the big guy happy. Their numbers were too few in a galaxy this large. Both of their heads turned when Moxxi spoke to all those involved with the contract around her.

"Ahem. Speech time! Welcome Mando peoples! I am Miss Monday Moxxi. Warlord of Karn and the greatest wasteland mechanic of all time!"

"SHUT UP SAMMY BABY! ...The Goddess is talking. Ahem. Now. Where was I?" Monday clapped back.

"Right. Sry." Sam rolled her eyes.

"Anyway... As I said. I'm Miss Moxxi. The great Miss Moxxi Monday for short. Warlord of Karn and the best mechanic. Ever. Don't you forget it."

"Um. Monday. We've got more people coming."

"The frell!? MORE people!?"

The giant turned his gaze towards the newcomers to see who it was. He saw a familiar figure dismounting from a speeder bike. He could see who it was clearly after the kicked up dust and sand from the speeder bike’s repulsorlift settled. It was Leea in the flesh!

Though he was somewhat gobsmacked when his gaze met a Melodie clad in beskar’gam with a custom speeder bike in tow, next to Leea. The giant wasn’t expecting to see a Melodie in an arid planet like this at all. He had heard of the existence of these creatures in bars and cantinas from drunken spacers and the likes, while he was looking for his next bounty or his next mercenary contract.

Their homeworld was in the Yavin system, a planet called Yavin 8. It baffled him when he first heard these creatures hatched from eggs like fishes or amphibians, even though they had inherent humanoid traits; the latter being a mammal. Ever since he wondered if such a thing made manifest was plausible, after hearing that spacer’s drunken nashgab about them. He had suspicions and more or less dismissed the fact that such beings could exist scientifically, and thought it was just a simple, drunken spacer rant. But this Melodie’s appearance surely changed his mind on the matter.

He wondered how she became a Mandalorian. Being half-fish would have its drawbacks when it came to fighting. But if she was deemed fit for bearing the weight of the beskar’gam, she had to have been a capable warrior, adept at fighting on land as well as in water.

"Su cuy'gar!"

The giant paused before trying to respond, as he was still bewildered by the sight. He parted his lips to return the greeting, but before he could, Monday exclaimed in excitement at the Melodie.

"Hi! I'm Monday! Omg! Are you a fish!? Fetchin' frell mate!? Bite my arse and call me a donkey! That's amazing! I want to pinch you! Squeee!

"Moxxi... Please. Decorum. She's in full armor. Ugh. ...Hi. Sorry about her. She's..."

"I fetchin', LOVE HER! Omg! Aloy baby look! She's adorable. Omg. I wanna hug. Can I have a hug?"

"Anyway...Welcome all. Thanks for coming. We've got a few more people arriving in just a few minutes. So we'll go ever the mission briefing in just a few minutes. Until then. Feel free to gas up at the pumps or get a bite to eat at the Shop N'Go. The junk droid who works the counter is friendly enough."

Kranak sensed motion coming from his immediate right while Sam was giving them a quick briefing. Glancing at it, he saw Moxxi curiously fiddling with his backpack loaded at the back of Aloy’s speeder bike.

"...Ooo. Are you a medic? Do you have any bacta? I love, love, to drink bacta smoothies. So tasty."

[“What are you-”] the briefing continued before he could speak any further.

"So yeah. we'll fill you in on the monsters and pricing in just a moment. There are digi-maps over in the store if you fancy landscaping the terrain and all that. Weather looks clear and hot for the rest of the day. Monday? How's our bandit report coming?"

The bubbly blonde poked up her head from behind Aloy's speeder, "They're dead!

He glanced back at Moxxi when Sam paused for a second, only to see her lean over the speeder bike, her hands caressing the leather seat as she mumbled to herself.

"...Ooo. Is this where Red parks her cute bahooty when she rides. Mmm. Bootyyy... Hehe... Mmmm..."

He managed to fight back the urge to laugh, but only just. He had to ask Aloy how she met her when he had the chance.

"Moxxi.

Nice!"

The giant then turned his attention to his backpack loaded behind the speeder when the short briefing was finished. He didn’t like people messing with his gear, like any other Mandalorian. He hoped nothing went missing while Moxxi tampered with his stuff. He was somewhat relieved when seeing his medical gear all accounted for.

"You two catch up and have fun, I'll be just a minute!"

Kranak glanced over his left shoulder after hearing Aloy speak. He gave a slight nod of the head when he heard she was referring to him and Leea. The Mirialan waved at him while the giant Ori’ramikad was performing another check on his backpack just to be sure. He returned the greeting with a nod of his head towards Leea.

These weapons and gear checks prior to a mission or a contract were starting to become an obsession of his, slowly. After completing equipment check on his medical backpack, satisfied with the results, he decided to have a chat with Leea and the Melodie while they waited for the actual briefing. He walked over from Aloy’s speeder bike and towards the Mirialan and the Melodie.

[“Su cuy.”] the giant said, as he approached the two. He gave a nod of the head to the Melodie and turned his gaze to Leea. [“So how have you been, Leea? How’s Tahlohn?”] he inquired, his arms crossed and standing next to Leea now.

It had been some time since he last saw them after the battle in Kestri. He wondered what the Cathar was up to these days.

Morgayne removed her helmet and smiled at Leea Pandac Leea Pandac as she asked her questions. "It can be, but we learn how to manage. Clan Muirgheal specializes in underwater combat for obvious reasons. I decided I wanted to try something new." She said, returning Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla 's nod. "You're a medic? Kandosii! My clan's got some medics as well. I know from when I was a kid that wounds above water act differently from wounds below water, so our medics are trained slightly different from most." The Alor said with a smile. "I've learned the basics of first aid for both."

Feeling the hand rest on her shoulder, Shai glanced over to Aloy as she spoke. She listened quietly as the Alor told her story. Overall things seemed to be a roller coaster ride for her, however a smile formed at the mention of proposing to Tan. "I'm surprised you haven't popped the question already with how tight you two are. I'm glad to hear it, though. Just lemme know when the wedding's happening so I can airdrop some presents in." she quipped, smiling at Aloy.

The girl continued to speak, explaining her plans for the near future. Shai couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at her words. "This is the way." she muttered as she glanced over to the store ahead of them. Inside she bought them both some snacks, cola and a garage pie, staring awkwardly at the droid behind the counter. "If you're in need for an extra gun, though, feel free to ask." she started as they made their way out. "The Union's a mess. Not hitting nearly as many Sith targets as they're supposed to. I joined the Owls for that single reason and they're not fulfilling that reason. I can't go after big targets on my own." her voice grew colder as she spoke, the memories of why she joined brewing up again. "So if you're a gun short, hit me up. Might bring a walker or two along for you to play with as well." she gave a toothy, maniacal grin as she glanced at Aloy.

By the time they rejoined with the group, her pie was done and she was already snacking on the packet of sweets she bought. "Gonna be feeling that heartburn any minute now..." she muttered as she shoved the packet into a pouch. "Alright, so when are we rolling out?" she asked the rest of the group.

So it was true; The union was in shambles since she left...

"I hear ya sister... Left for that myself, Too much politics and beskar tableware, Not enough deckin' sith spittle in the face..." She growled, Only the snacks and Shai's "the way" quip could release that clenched fist of hers, Damn near getting a snort in response.

"Well, I'm happy for more guns, And certainly a walker" She chortled "Truth be told Shai, I'm not... Just a Vizsla now... The title of Alor may not even be mine to keep for all I know, But I'm damn sure leading my own people to kill these damned sorcerers... So, I'm making my own syndicate type thing. Opening 'er up to other mandalorians, Not just my house. We're headed back home to help the Death Watch Crusade kill off the Graug and maybe grab up gear from my old coverts... Afterwards, I plan to build us up a sorta "Nite Owls 2: Independant boogaloo" if you know what I mean"

"After the weddin', Of course"
she winks while taking a bite of her food.

It was good catching up with the Shistavanen again, Someone she thought would have been disappointed in her for leaving the Union. But it seemed that Shai had her own reasons for leaving the politicians behind.

By the time they rejoined with the group, her pie was done and she was already snacking on the packet of sweets she bought. "Gonna be feeling that heartburn any minute now..."
"Guess your stomach ain't adjusted to frontier-world food yet huh?" She laughs as she emerges from the shop, Following Shai back to the main group

"Alright, so when are we rolling out?"

"Mhm. Give to it me to straight Moxxi darlin, What's troubling you?"

Leea was impressed as Morgayne spoke. Such tenacity to overcome an inherent difficulty in interacting with the greater galaxy, it was an inspiring action. "Well, I hope that this will be an instructive and profitable endeavour. I look forward to working with you!" The soldier hoped that she would be able to keep up with these Mandos this time, they always seemed so... capable. On the battlefield she felt like they were supersentients, always somewhere between five and ten steps ahead of the enemy, not to mention her as well. This time though she had something to her advantage. A new weapon, and hopefully their enemies would be a little less threatening than the Vong, might make this an easier mission than her previous encounter. Then again, from what Leea understood, Mandalorians preferred a challenge, so maybe this was going to be a big fight.

As Kranak came closer and officially greeted them, the Mirialan proudly replied, with what little Mando'a she knew, "Su cuy'gar, I've been well. Still a little sore from our last outing, but I'm glad we're going at it again. Talohn's been... well Talohn. Still got keep an eye on him, but mostly he's doing just fine. I think he would be here if it weren't for a little bit of a redecoration project on the ship. Found a little infestation issue, had to pull some of the circulators and venting out to clear it all out. But hey, clean ship! Plus I'm out here, never been on this world before." Although, she 'visited' several desert worlds not too dissimilar to this one before. Whatever this world threw at her, Leea was ready to take it on.

Samatharis gave a nod to Shai's remark.

Indeed. This was probably the full group. Time to get a briefing going.

"Okay people! Rally up! Time for the run down."

Monday gave a nod and quickly ran over to the main garage hanger. She slapped the button and opened the giant door. Revealing a small Sail Barge inside. The perky blonde quickly climbed aboard to get it running.

Meanwhile, Sam stood in the middle of the heroes and held out a tiny holo-projector,

"Today's game is simple. These are Sandrakes. Horse-sized reptiles with a bad habit for eating anything. From small animals to rubber tires - you name it, they've ate it. Now, last time Aloy was here we killed more than a hundred of them out in the Eastern Valley. Which was wonderful and bought Monday's little garage here some more time on the map. However, some of the larger monsters in the desert have resettled down in Death Valley and caused a whole new heard of Sandrakes to appear far, far too close to our borders here. So we need for you guys and gals to thin them out for us."

She pushed a button and the holo began showing an image of a full sized Sandrake. Tiny little dragon thing. Thank goodness they didn't breath fire too.

"Monday's intel paints the heard out to the west at about four hundred head. Which, is quite a bit of ammo. All things considered. However, most of you look like professionals. So I doubt a few nasty drakes will even pose much of a challenge for you. Especially on Speeder Bikes."

Sam pointed to the bikes already here assembled and to more inside Monday's Garage.

"And I do recommend you hunt them on Speeders. Being on foot just means you'll get run down and clobbered by dozens of them in no time. Trust me. You don't want that. Being trampled by a hundred horses just ain't a fun way to spend your afternoon in the sun."

Sam tugged on her fur vest and gave a nod to the sky.

"Forecast is sunny and hot. We're not expecting a sand storm this week either. So as long as you hunt during the day, visibility will be good. With plenty of high ground and low ravines to choose from."

The Jedi pointed out west towards the badlands and nodded.

"Monday is paying two hundred credits a head. We'll take skulls or jawbones as proof. So the more you kill and recover? The more money you'll make. The bones can be a bit heavy so pack accordingly or make multiple trips. You get paid when the bones hit the cement back here. Not before."

Sam turned a gave a wave to the Sail Barge behind her.

"Monday and I will be on the Miss Moxxi's Parade for the first hour of the hunt. After that, we'll be back here at the Garage to prepare for the count. But you can come back to the garage at any time to refill on fuel or ammo. The droid at the shop counter will handle payment up front for supplies. So, they're there if you need them."

Then she smiled and clasped her hands together. All done.

"You're welcome to work together or go at it alone. Just don't expect to much mercy from Monday's death cannons if you decide to start backstabbing each other. Murders all well-and-good out here in the desert but honestly, let's stay focused on the mission first. You can steal from each other AFTER you've gotten paid and left our happy planet's orbit. Alright. ...Good. Otherwise! Let the games begin! And may the richest Mercenary kill em' all! Ha."

As Samatharis finished giving the briefing, Monday kicked over the engine on the Sail Barge and took the helm. Slowly pulling the longship out of the hanger with a gust of it's repulsar lifts. Slowly unveiling a pink and purple flag with her name on it, at the top of the mast. She looked every bit the pirate's long ship she was designed to be.

"Ahoy maties!" Monday shouted over the helm, "Let's mount up and get a'rollin'! Time to bag us some Nasties! Wahoo!"

Sam smiled a grabbed a stray rope hanging from the ship. Then pulled herself up onto the deck with a swing and a jump! The Sail Barge was leaving the nest. All systems go!

"Any Questions!?" Sam shouted over the bow. "HIt me up over the radio! Otherwise, you can follow us out to the western expanse where the party begins! Haha."

The two women gave a happy wave as the longship sailed slowly over the concrete driveway and out into the red desert sand. Headed west over the shrubs and rocks of the hot desert badlands.

Ready to hunt some monsters.

Aloy put her hands on her hips and kept quiet for the remainder of the briefing, Carefully observing until she realized that, Aside from the 400 kriffing sandrakes, This would be a run of the mill job,

Well, Until Samatharis mentioned murder. To be honest, She couldn't tell if the Jedi was joking or if she actually expected this group to start shooting eachother over some wild animals... She wouldn't put it past Jedi these days, Not after the Silver\Mandalorian war that toppled Yasha Cadera's reign.

The sail barge though... Now that was a welcome sight!

"Hoooly chit!" She laughed, Taking some joy in Monday's theatrics "Wish you would have said something in your ad! I'd have brought my own!" She'd have to get that
landspeeder she'd been looking at sometime, For jobs like this.

Marching up to her speeder with a series of ∗clinks∗ in her step, Aloy couldn't help but wonder how the kark she'd haul all those skulls with her own
swoop bike. After thinking it over however...

"Kranak~" She stops beside the big guy, Looking up at the 2 meter tall black-clad commando "How 'bout you and I focus on killin' beasties from the speeder or air, And I'll put waypoints on the HUD wherever they fall. Then we can take the ship and scoop up some skulls?"

She knew well that she was the Alor of this clan and that didn't have to get the opinions of her Vizslas, But she taught to always consider council and viewed her clan not as a commander would, But like... An older sibling to all of them. Which, In this instance at least, She did have Kranak by a few years.

Either way, She was glad to have the largest of her battle-siblings here today.
