Sophelia was following all things Pelagon since herself, her cousin, and brother had fled the Covenant's takeover. She'd never been able to give up on others who hadn't gotten out. A chance that maybe...maybe, some were still alive. Still out there. And she knew the other survivors from the diaspora had the same hope. She'd built a memorial just outside of the sanctuary on Naboo for her people. And there were so many holos of 'have you seen...' and 'missing' she'd lost count. So, when she'd heard a rumor of a prisoner camp within the Sith Covenant space, she dug deeper for some credible intel.

It had taken considerable resources and no small amount of credits. Nearly all of her race winnings. But she finally had enough to make her case to the jedi council. Requesting permission and a sanctioned mission. It took some time but they'd ultimately agreed. The padawan had been paired with one Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor . While she had never met him, she'd heard enough to know he was more than capable. And her mother had hired someone called Fiona Tierney Fiona Tierney . A hired gun to help them. Soph suspected it was to protect her. It was a good thing her mother hadn't know about her other missions and the danger she'd already been in.

And hopefully, she'd never know.

Soph had also messaged someone else. Isar du Vain Isar du Vain . She'd kinda sorta neglected to tell the jedi council about him. And well, she kinda sorta neglected to tell him that she was a jedi. But she'd asked for his help. If anyone had a way to get into Covie space and dock at that prison, it was him with his syndicate connections.

"He'll be here soon," Soph spoke to Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor and Fiona Tierney Fiona Tierney . Soph was thankful for the stop on Corellia before they headed into enemy territory. Her and ships didn't get along well. She felt...ill. Her fair complexion paled even more. She'd need another few ginger chews to get her through the rest of the way to the prison station. She wore navy pants, slim leather-bound boots, a white tunic tucked into a belt slung around her waist, and a navy-trimmed jacket that went down to her calves. Collapsible staff hooked to her belt. Fingers nervously fidgeted with the belt at her hips, eyes scanning the crowds for that familiar flash of red-magenta hair.

Putting on the mask
You will feel no remorse for those who would show none to you.
You will feel no fear beyond the fear of failing those behind you.
You will seek no reward beyond mission success.
You will feel no pain until death.
You are not wrath.
You are not vengeance.
You are the Light’s wraith.

*Slowly his emotions, his feelings, everything that could distract him was compartmentalized. He still felt them, but they no longer could rule him, they no longer clouded his judgement.

He was called to duty by an assignment he was specifically requested for, by who was a question he would have to answer later. Right now his mind was focused on the task ahead, whatever it was. Right now, all he knew was that it was dangerous, and that it was taking time away from him seeing Lira or Buster. So it was best to blot that out and complete the tast so he could go home and see them.

The Jedi Master was armed and armored like he usually was. He offered a nod and a I was called. To help.

"Boo."

Behind the party, the single word rolled off Isar du Vain's lips with a laconic drawl. The magenta-skinned Zeltron's expression looked smug as ever, chin slightly tilted up so that he stared down his nose at the group with eyes the color of lilac blooms. He wore simple dark pants and a red and white armorweave jacket with a black tunic beneath. Strapped to his left arm was a personal shield generator, while on his right hip he wore a blaster pistol.

His eyes narrowed as he took in Soph's outfit, then panned to the rest of the entourage.

Between the fingers of one hand he held a deathstick from which a small tendril of a smoke rose and beneath the sickly-sweet smell were notes of lavender.

"Someone call for a special delivery?"

Fiona 'acquired' the group a Consular II Class Escort Frigate. Easy enough to be manned by a small crew but large enough to hold enough prisoners of war. It seemed sleeping with the Commodore had a few small perks and one of those was access to a vessel for this 'off the books' assignment. Fiona had little skin in the game, her job was to keep Ardemark safe and sound. An extremely tall order but one she would succeed at.

An odd little ragtag group. Two Jedi. Herself. One greasy Zeltron. Her nose crinkled a little at the smell, wondering if he had bathed in cheap essential oils before getting here.

"This is who we were waiting on?" Fiona had expected something more with more substance. "Good thing I had that anti-pheromone package installed after that uh...group activity.. on Zeltros." She was still speaking to Ardemark regarding this. "Worst headache of my life, not sure how anyone goes to the planet for more than three minutes."

Soph nodded to Master Connel. And offered a timid smile. A thankful one. Anyone willing to help her people gave a lot of weight in her book.

Soph felt Isar first. Through that mental connection they’d never severed from the job on Nar Shadda. Smug as ever. She turned at his words. Azure eyes rolling even as she couldn’t hide the slight uptick at the corner of her mouth. She used to hate that scent of lavender.

Head shook.

“You’re late.” Blues sparkled warmly against her accusatory tone. She swallowed. Suddenly nervous. For a few reasons. The main being, he was seeing the part of her everyone else knew for the first time.

Then her shoulders squared. A look to the redheaded mercenary. “You can do that?” A whisper of surprise. That would be…interesting onboard. “Does it block him from sensing emotions?”

She stepped forward, eyes flickering between their party. “Alright. Let’s start with introductions. You all know me. Sophelia.” She let the others do their thing. Then a glance around the hangar. Better to talk more onboard and get underway. Too prying ears and eyes. “Let’s get on board and get underway.”

The Zeltron snorted at the redhead’s crinkled nose and her expression, then followed Soph’s lead and clambered up the ramp of their ride and into the cargo hold.

“Isar,” he supplied his name, helpfully, followed by, “I am in the freight business.”

Smuggling, obviously. But one didn’t just stand around at a spaceport announcing it. Soph, some masked guy, and a grumpy redhead. Isar took a drag on his death stick and then sighed out a cloud of smoke through the nose. A real A-tier team she had here. Isar turned and flicked the deathstick onto the ground outside the ship. The less these randoms knew about him, the better.

Once inside, he made sure the ramp shut securely behind them.

Isar finally raised an eyebrow at the redhead’s expression.

“What’s eating ginger?”

Just call me “Ariel”... I’m going to… stand over here now… Facial recognition software id’ed the blonde girl, it was still searching for Isard, but Connel stepped away and didn’t hide it. He wanted space from the Zeltron. He knew exactly why, and would answer if asked, but for now the walk would suffice as he pulled out a comm-link from one of his pockets.

Track my signal and follow it, passive sensors. Who was he talking to? Mind your business, that’s who.

"No, it just blocks their annoying little pheromones. He can still feel emotions, just more difficult to manipulate. It also blocks toxins."

Fiona needed it in her line of work. The implant wasn't foolproof. If one ingested poison they could still die. Her mood could still be swayed by pheromones, it would just take much more effort on the end of the other. The Zeltron would still be able to try to influence her. No doubt he felt her irritation at this point.

Introductions were now going around the small circle.

“What’s eating ginger?”

"Not you sweetheart. Ever." She paused, nodding to Ariel. "Like the mermaid cartoon?"

Just because she was a mercenary didn't mean she wasn't aware of popular culture. She did go to the HoloPlex from time to time. The posters were in the lobby.

"Fiona. Hired Mercenary. Pleased to meet most of you."

Soph stayed silent at the name 'Ariel.' One golden brow arched. But she kept his secret. It wasn't hers to tell. And she of all people knew what it was like to have a false name. The ramp began closing behind them as they all boarded the frigate the mercenary supplied. Soph was very curious about the blocking toxins part. The healer in her wanted to study the tech more.

Maybe later.

Now?

Between the way Connel was acting and the banter beginning to build between Fiona and Isar, she could feel a growing headache. Fingers came to lightly pinch the bridge of her nose as she wove between the minimal crew Fiona had hired. If Soph could handle negotiations between nobles, surely she could handle this group, right?

Right?

The ship rumbled beneath them as the crew went through pre-flight checks. Soph took a ginger chew from her pocket and slammed it into her mouth. Putting it beneath her tongue. She'd given Fiona the coordinates earlier. She just hoped they were right. Soph turned to the group, hand gripping the back of a chair in the common area as she felt the ship begin to rise.

"What do we think the best play is here? The access codes you have should get us through and docked, right?" Eyes went to Isar. "Once we get there...it won't take them long to know something is up."
