The Gathering

Just what was Kiki up to?

Aeri knew her cousin was up to something. Had to be. He didn't just throw a party for nuthin. That was why she'd insisted Miz. Arceneau came to the party. If there was a reason why Kiki made this type of hoopala, she wanted to have a front seat view. As it was, the Zeltron assistant of the Trade Queen herself would stand beside Danger. She would wear a fantastic blue dress full of slink and pizzazz suited for one such as her. It clung like a second skin and Aeri wasn't afraid to show it. It may be a work night but that didn't mean she couldn't look good while she did it.

With the guests arriving in style, Aeri would stand close to Danger, giving low murmured updates. Hion the Herglic, CEO of Darkwater Security would be the first guest to say hello.

And you couldn't miss him!

A smile would shine over to him, as would the quiet call to attention for Danger to become aware of whom came their way. Violet eyes would pan in the meantime, scanning for one particular figure she knew well.

What do you have up your sleeve Kiki? She'd muse. Saeva has certainly come far. Could that really be the only reason why he'd throw a party?

It was hard to tell. But she just couldn't shake that nagging feeling.

What could one like herself say when she came in late trying to stay under the radar wasn't hard to do, or at less she thought it wouldn't be. After all there was more then one red head her tonight. With that being said smart could put it one way with her wearing something a bit more classic then so business like after all this wasn't all business with no play.

Walking into the place already it seem there was a crowd gathering she spotted one [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] that she set up a good business dealing with already. Night was young she was hopping to maybe work on others dealings as the night went on. Even so she did what she was good at that was to walk with a bit a sassy in her step, along with letting her hip do the curve talking.

Coming up to the bar ordering a very simple drink for now of just a light drink, she didn't need those to know that she was one of those ladies that could add fire to her whiskey with her lullabies. Even as she went about the place she would give her smile and nods as she went by or heads turned. There was a few more she knew of just not personality but she hope to after all she did have her brother to thank for that didn't she. [member="Anastasia Rade"] she spotted right way might as well, just start up as it seem there was a few others gather around. Walking up letting the beat of of the back ground music be her steps.

"Evening Ladies and Gents, I must find the owner later tell him such a nice place here.", her own voice thick with the accent of charm she had going on. She also left herself open so she could be approached by others or let herself go to approach others also. Getting a feel that there was a very mix of others business types all around. Now wondering if she should have asked her darling [member="Solan Charr"] to come with her tonight, wondering if he would be bore at a gathering like this. Then again she should brought someone like [member="Draco Vereen"] to let now or was it. Putting her drink to her lips as she listen to those talking around her.

[member="Hion the Herglic"] [member="Triam Akovin"] [member="Tmoxin Temi"] [member="Aleksandyr Gaillard"][member="Orick T'ane"] [member="Ioka Farnen"] [member="Danger Arceneau"] [member="Sempra the Hutt"]

Playing nice was something Orick had spent most of his life doing. Playing nice with [member="Tmoxin Temi"] was one of the hardest things he had been forced to do in the recent memory. She was a serpent, tempting and tantalizing, until she got what she wanted, then it was over, and if you were lucky she let you go. For some reason she didn't stop popping into his life, always at the worst possible time. He smiled and glanced at [member="Anastasia Rade"]. " I'm sure we will take you up on it, just as long as not all of the games there are rigged. It would be nice to win every once in a while." He chuckled as he replied.

Before he could even continue to pretend to play nice a blast from the past decided to wander over. "Triam, [member="Triam Akovin"]. Glad to see you're still around a kicking. You drop off of the map so often I am begging I should start taking odds on when you will decide not to resurface." He was cut off by Ana as she introduced herself. He couldn't help but smile, Ana was always so friendly he wondered how it was that she did it.

"And this lovely lady is Tmoxin Temi, she is the owner of a small company called Morpho Pharmaceuticals. She just expanded her business to include a rather impressive sporting complex and resort." He motioned towards Tmoxin, a smile on his face the entire time, but his eyes openly betrayed his feelings.

"Ladies, allow me to introduce Triam Akovin, a friend and partner in crime from the past. She's a doer of the impossible and a rather convincing business woman." He smiled as he gave her a hug through all of her armor, he didn't care what anyone thought, they were long time friends and troublemakers. She was one of the few people in the galaxy that could call him anytime, anyplace and get help with no question. He stepped back and looked between the three women. One of them was a devil in disguise, but the other two were people he would drop everything for, so if he had to endure the evening two out of three wasn't bad.

[member="Hion the Herglic"] | [member="Aleksandyr Gaillard"] | [member="Ioka Farnen"][member="Sempra the Hutt"] | [member="Kiran Vess"] | [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] | [member="Token Waters"]

Maybe it was time for Token to stop being such a bar rat and get out there and talk with a few folk. The trick was to meet up with people she didn’t know, and didn’t have some contracts with already. But it wouldn’t hurt to discuss with people Bright Star had been working with, introduce herself as acting CEO to the likes of [member="Danger Arceneau"] and [member="Hion the Herglic"], the ones in charge of a lot of locations for gaming rights and major security respectively.

A drink in hand, the blonde sauntered off into the group. She recognized a few. [member="Tmoxin Temi"] was one that Marek had taken to dealing with personally, and for good reason, Token could completely understand that. Right… a whale and a redhead.

Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Your heart sweats,
your body shakes..

A warm smile would shine over to the [member="Hion the Herglic"], having given Aeri a subtle incline of her head that would thank her for the heads up. Not that one could miss the former Senator of Tython's presence.

"Mistah Hion," Danger said with her familiar drawl, tipping her head back to talk to him. The Herglic towered over her, much like the Darkwater Security representatives she utilized for her own safety.

"I've no complaints, Mistah Hion," she'd say with a genuine compliment, "I've never felt safer." It was true, the small Herglic Security from Darkwater followed her everywhere.

"A pleasure to catch you here... I take it business is doing well?" she would expect that it would, given what she'd heard thus far about the Herglic Trade Guild once again returning to its former glory.

Let Me Push That Button
Kiran looked around the room. There were dozens of people now, maybe more than a hundred actually. They had filled the halls and were now conversing with one another, speaking about business, pleasantries, whatever their heart desired. Slowly Kiran observed them all, eyes carefully scanning over all of them. He saw Danger, he saw Aeri, the latter received a slight smirk that could only be hiding a secret.

Eventually the Zeltron checked his chrono.

It was time.

Slowly Kiran began to wander across the room. He moved through the crowd carefully, stepping between conversations and avoiding most of the bigwigs of business that had come here. A few tried to speak with him, a few even tried to grab him in order to get his attention. Each attempt was quickly rebuffed as he made his way through the former casino's grand hall. It only took him a minute or so, and as he reached the grand steps to the offices Kiran turned on his heel.

He stood above them, only by a few feet, but still well enough that everyone within the hall should be able to see and hear him. The Zeltron smirked again, and made a loud noise to clear his throat. The guards around the room seemed to ping something, and a singular attention grabbing noise echoed through the room.

Kiran watched, and once everyone turned and paid attention, he began to speak. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so glad that you could join us tonight. I believe that most if not all of you are here, and thus I believe It's time for the truth."

Slowly Kiran glanced at Aeri, then Danger.

"Saeva Incorporated and Myself are not your hosts tonight." He smiled. "That honor, I'm afraid goes to another man."

Sempra looked around for a seat to hold his immense body. He always brought his hover platform for occasions like this but on teth hutts were not that rare and there was accomendations made for his species. He moved toward it nodding toward guests who took notice of him.
There was credit in the air and Sempra decided to breath it all in and enjoy the event.

He was actually himself unsure how these people perceived him. Some might have considered him a simple gangster. He chuckled at this thought since he himself had direct influence over the so called laws in regions near by. Teth however, was still not outside his grasp - for now.

the seat was comfortable and fitted him perfect. His small retinue of servants hurried forth with plates and cushions to make his stay as comfortable as possible. He grabbed some grapes and was about to thrown them into his maw when he stopped. His eyes fell on [member="Ioka Farnen"] - and his features grew stern.

"Do not give me a reason to regret that I brought you jawa." he mumbled at him. "This is not the place nor the time for your expertice in that area." the leader of the hutt cartel had employed jawas on many occasions but this particular one did show prom, ise of extraordinary skills. somewhat rough in the edges but very promising.

Having given the warning Sempra returned to the grapes and swallowed them whole.

Zeltrons had that keen sense of empathy when things were about to go haywire. Or maybe it was just due to Aeri's Valkyrie training. There was always that sixth sense. More so when [member="Kiran Vess"] shot her that smirking grin. It made her eyes narrow in suspicion.

Suspicions that were only confirmed when Kiki made his little speech. Goes to another man? What other man? Was it someone who had recently hired him with Saeva? It was no surprise that utilizing the training given to him as a Son of Titan that Kiran had leapt up the business ladder. If anything, her cousin was very effective and efficient at what he did.

However, the pointed emphasis that Saeva nor Kira was the true host tonight made her wonder.

"What game are you playing at, Kiki?" muttered Aeri.

"Well..."

A disconnected voice echoed from the top of the a stairs, not permeating the room but striking those who stood in the front row of the little gathering. Footsteps quickly followed the voice, familiar to some, completely new to others. Eventually a man was reveal, his legs wrapped in black suite pants, his torso covered in a tight jacket, his shoulders broad and his beard jet black sprinkled with just a hint of white. "You can take some of the credit, Mr. Vess."

The man smiled smirked even as he looked at the crowd.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Alric Kuhn, and I am your host tonight." Most of the people in this room probably thought he was dead. In fact by his count only three of them knew that he was actually alive. "Some of you may have heard of my unfortunate demise, but I assure you those rumors are patently false. Just a minor disagreement with a former business associate."

That got a few chuckles out of the room. "I apologize for the secrecy and the lies, but I do so enjoy making a show of myself, my ego demands it."

For a few moments he gazed around the room. He knew most of the people here, or rather he had a dossier on most of them. One of them specifically caught his eye, and he gave her a small smile, something hiding behind his eyes that likely she would only notice. Then her gaze fell on Sempra, the Hutt. Then it slowly panned to some of the others. He looked away, then continued his small speech.

"To make it up to all of you, I've arranged for an opportunity for each of you." Alric smiled, his voice boisterous. "Most of you will know my reputation as the former CEO of Titan Industries, so you will know my reputation as a Champion of Industry and technological growth. With my return to the forefront of Galactic Business, I will be founding a new corporations, Vanir Technologies. If you so wish it, each one of you will have a chance to invest and buy stock within the company here at this very party."

Again some rumblings, but Alric ignored them. "If you wish to, there are datapads on the Bar with all the relevant information, Within the hour sales will begin."

He smiled again, then swept his arms slightly.

"Again, I want to thank you all for attending." His voice tinged with a hint of something as he finished. "Don't forget to enjoy yourselves."

Your throat is tight,
you can't breathe...

The only difference between a prayer and a curse is the one who stands to profit.

That's what her momma used to say. Reckon it was a sayin' that spoke truth in spades. The CEO of Darkwater would not be able to miss it; granted, to be fair to the lady, the bulk of their counterparts would also be surprised at the true identity of their host. Maybe that was the reason the color would blanch from Danger's face, her expression a frozen cordial mask that did not melt when piercing ice blue would meet her own.

For some women a flesh-and-blood man doesn’t pose near the threat as that of a memory. She hangs like a broken record, playing the same verse over and over, unable to go forward, unable to go back. It had been nearly twenty years since Alric Kuhn walked out of her life, and the sight of him still made her churn.

Whether it was for his head or any other reason was up for debate. The crowd would fade momentarily from Danger's awareness, and her focus would linger upon the man who wore a smug mask. He was older now; he wore his age upon his gaunt angular face. The perfectly trimmed beard. The barbered hair cut of peppered hair. No, Alric Kuhn was a man who still would make any heart atitter in awareness. By all appearances he was the perfect picture of a Tetan Businessman.

Her jaw tightened. The seconds they locked their eyes together was brief, but it was enough. There was something more in there; fleeting, but she caught it. Something rose within her chest, a lump that tightened along with a mighty strong desire for drink.

How could he stand there so smugly? So boisterous? Is this what he'd been working on while he left the girls to their own devices?

Did he know about Rose? Did he even care? Questions would plague her. The old Alric would. But that was then. This was now. Did it matter really? She never expected that from him, but then again, she never expected his betrayal to begin with. Two near decades was enough to change anyone.

It did to her.

Lucien looked out over the gathering of glittering people. The net worth in the room must have been equivalent to that of a small nation. He had attended to make some professional connections but it seemed more was on offer to this end Lucien made his way over to the bar. The data-pads were just one excuse to visit the bar. He noted several individuals that he already knew. The Infamous [member="Danger Arceneau"] for one and [member="Tmoxin Temi"] Lucien had been involved in business meetings with her but a short time prior.

Having secured both a data pad and a glass of wine he leant on the bar to look over the information on offer. Vanir appeared to have promise and Lucien was determined to get a slice of the pie. He scanned the room searching for unengaged individuals but for now it seemed all those he knew were already mid-conversation it was no matter he could wait he was afterall a patient man. Perhaps he would approach [member="Alric Kuhn"] when he was free. One could never go wrong talking to the host.

Lord Ajihad, or known as "Rhodes" in the buisness scene, rolled into a private docking bay on a yacht. He was dressed in black suit, with slots for hidden weaponry, of course. As he walked towards's the entrance to emporium of sorts, the guards halted him where he stood.

"Sir, we're going to have to ask you for all weaponry before we proceed."

He blinked at this statement, not often used to people asking for his weapons. After all, he was an assassin, and was used to sneaking into places like these. Playing the part of a wealthy buisness man was altogether new to him.

He cleared his throat, and, making sure nobody was looking, spoke to the guards. "You do not need my weapons. I can move along."

With a somewhat befuddled look upon his face, the guard slowly responded. "We... don't need your weapons. You can move along."

Rhodes nodded his head to the guards before entering the brightly lit room, and looked around. He licked his lips, marveling at all of the important people there. He would normally be contracted to kill them, not work with them. After deciding not give in to his desires and kill everyone there, he walked into the crowd, hoping to stir up some buisness for the Triad.

A newcomer named [member="Triam Akovin"], approached the group. She appeared to be a good acquaintance of @Orick T’ane. Introductions were made, and Tmoxin listened politely with a thin smile on her face, occasionally giving a barbed glance to the smuggler, mostly when she thought no one was paying attention. She could tell he was unsettled by her presence, and this gave her a subtle feeling of control over the situation.

“It’s good to meet you, Triam,” she said, nodding.

Suddenly there was some hoopla at the top of the stairs, and it appeared that Saeva Incorporated had a surprise in store. Hopefully it wasn’t a troupe of male Twi’lek dancers as in the last business event she had been too. She shuddered at the memory of being gyrated upon in the most unpleasant manner as she was trying to secure a contract with a research company. Brightstar would never have that type of entertainment at their events at least.

In anycase, it appeared the CEO of Saeva was back from the dead and how dramatic that was. Holomovie worthy even. Still, to be able to invest in this new company did appeal to the Hapan CEO, especially their fringe science division.

Tossing her red hair back, she turned her head once more to see who else had arrived at the party. There was [member="Lucien Cordel"], who had funded some recent bio-tech improvements. She would need to say hello to him. Of course, Tmoxin kept a keen eye on [member="Aleksandyr Gaillard"]’s whereabouts as she headed across the room to greet the Sith financier.

[member="Anastasia Rade"]

Jaster had forgot about the time, he was for course speaking with the waitresses, galactic history and what not. He was board at such public matters, he truely never enjoyed being in public meeting with people who at a moments notice would take his money at a moments notice. They were richer then he would ever hope to imagine, though he was no slackie. He emassed almost if not equal economic opportunities as the rest of them.

He figured he should rejoin what most would consider escalated society and make new alliance, or partnerships. Though Jaster was a Bio-Scientist who specilized in Vong Engineering and Bio-Weaponry. This however was work for his trading company, rights and terms to transport good across the galaxy. Not an easy job for anyone really, but Jaster was forced to do it.

The minute he returned to the party, he immediately recognized some big player in the galactic scene. There was [member="Orick T'ane"] and his wife [member="Anastasia Rade"], two very influential people that you really didn't need as enemies, but as allies, they brought their own trouble. Next to them was on of his main competitors in the Medical Manufacturing Industry, [member="Tmoxin Temi"]. Influential in her own right and ties to some other big companies and firms. Jaster would truely find meaning and insight in a deep conversation with her, him being a medical scientist and all. Then there was the largest obstacle Jaster was faced with, [member="Danger Arceneau"], also know to many as the Trade Queen. He ran a Trading and Transport Company as well, mostly raw foods and minor needs to planets and smaller nations. This women of course probably never heard of Jaster or his company as he did his best to stay down wind of her radar, never cutting deals with companies she already worked with, or nations who she negotiated with. It wasn't that Jaster was afraid of the women personally, but he knew that she could shut his operations out if she felt the need.

There were off course some allies he recognized within the meeting. Some such was [member="Seanna Vel"], a women Jaster negosated with to transport her goods to colony worlds in the Unknown Region. Then there was [member="Sempra the Hutt"], the Supreme Leader of the Hutt Empire, also his biggest client as he transported nearly 90% of all of his goods and imported 50% of all Sempras goods and resources. Jaster was glad to see there were people he could conversated with of things got rough.

This was when he heard [member="Kiran Vess"] and [member="Alric Kuhn"] speak about investments. Vanir was a company that Jaster did have on his radar. Not for trade reasons, but for its knowlage of Fringe Tech, something Jaster had a lot of, but no knowlage of how to use. He was a Vong and Biological Specialist, unknown weaponry and tech was outside his domain. He would have to look into this investment opportunities.

Lighting a cigar of the more expensive brand Sempra puffed it slowly to ignite its red glow. He listened to [member="Alric Kuhn"] as he made his appearance.

He had heard rumors about this man, but could only place him vaguely among the rich and famous. He immediately took an interest in the offer and bent down whispering something into the ear of his pale albino slave. The slave immideately made his way through the crowd to collect one of the data pads to bring back to his master.

Mean while Sempra corrected his seat and leaned back. He did not expect much to happen here. Besides [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] there were non here with direct connections to him. He attended these occasions because it was good to keep himself in the loop of things and it also reminded these people of the ever present hutt presence in the galactic. Most of the present considered themselves above dealing with hutts, Sempra knew that and had learned to accept it. But he enjoyed the fact that him being her made a few people a bit more "edgy."
While not a super power in ancient times the hutts still held significant financial leeway. they spread their credits and influence far from hutt borders through their minions and ever so often people were not aware that they were dealing with hutt wealth. Not until something went wrong at least.

He ashed his cigar by tapping it toward the silvery edge of a plate held by a lightly dressed Zeltron slave standing next to him. It was her sole purpose here this day. Sempra blew out some smoke which found its way upwards, soon to be forming a light dim curtain spiraling toward the ceiling. The large reptilian eyes of the hutt traced it for a while before his pale slave made a discrete cough making his master aware of that a bid had been delivered.

Sabrina arrived late for the party, she was busy with getting her new carrier designed. This was a welcome alternative to it, chance to meet new business associates. To see what her rivals where up to in a friendly setting, and not in competitive way. As she walked in she saw a bidding process going on for some stock in technology company, know that was interesting. She could do with some one helping her develop her anti matter weapons, and that company might be useful in that en devour. She had look at it's portfolio, it made ground weapons, as well as other things like a carrier. She smiled and figured it was worth trying to own a chunk of this company, even if it was just to help her fledgling empire gathering on eisenwelt.

She took a look at the current bids, and to see if she was in a position to better them all. She was then made a slight bid on them all. In hopes to come away with a chunk of the company, as if it gave her access to more scientist it would help vastly with making her second generation of anti matter weapons.

Letting herself mingle as she let herself put her own bid on the order of business tonight. It would be nice to start to event out with wouldn't it not. Now came to the fact what she came for that was to start up more trade of her company through out the galaxy. After which she would speak to Mr. Kuhn before the night was over with, but for now it would be mingle with some of the others business minded folks.

[member="Tmoxin Temi"] was the one that she felt she could go talk to or at less she didn't know the young ladies name of yet. Taking the lend as she over seeing that others was around, stopping for a mintue as she saw another lady that she came to know the last few weeks that just join the ranks of the TU [member="Sabrina Kotass"].

Rhodes scanned the room, looking for someone who he could make a bit of a sales pitch to. He looked around, watching as business owners sat and chatted with one another. He raised an eyebrow as [member="Alric Kuhn"] made an appearance, but didn't display the shock that most others did. Not much surprised him these days, much less shocked him. He turned away from the man who he had once dueled, and looked for possible customers.

He came across [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] , and decided to have a little chat with him. It didn't seem he was talking with anyone else, so Rhodes strode over to him. "I don't believe we've met, friend. Mind if I buy you a drink?"

Note: Sorry about the late response! Been busy :p

Truly smiling for the old friend, and quickly beginning to forget her encounter with the sith [member="Hion the Herglic"] known to her as Darth Orcus, she walked over to the group. It was nice to have friends... it made her wonder why sometimes she did choose to disappear. This man wasn't like Preliat, who was more of a strange attraction she occasionally deigned to take the thrill of meeting, this man was... just a man to her.

That, and business, were the two main reasons she could warmly socialize with him, despite her previous difficulties with people in the past. She had been fighting all of her life, she almost forgot how to make friends and relationships... those sort of died with her dad... but she was slowly improving now after a decade of confused grief and shenanigans.

"Still got legs, don't I?" Triam laughed as [member="Orick T'ane"] brought in gambling on her disappearing acts. She didn't think she was going to need one ever again... but if she ever did, Orick would probably be the first to know.

Soon after, his wife, [member="Anastasia Rade"], introduced herself, and she nodded with a warm smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, you've got very profitable man over here if only he knew how to spend his fortunes correctly." She reached over to shake her hand, so she could wink at Orick. She merely nodded towards "[member="Tmoxin Temi"]", not necessarily because she picked up on the subtle cues Orick was dropping (she wasn't that good), but merely not entirely knowing how to greet a friend of a friend. Triam didn't "do" acquaintances, you were friendly or hostile, just like a battlefield. "Nice to meet you, too." She said a moment before being barreled into by the daring smuggler, as he embraced her and introduced her more formally to the group.

"Well, I guess it is pretty impossible convincing these people I'm here on business, so you can check that off as my first public impossible task!" She hoped that was funny... but shortly after the funnies would seem to die whether or not it actually was.

"Well..." That voice, she knew that voice. "You can take some of the credit, Mr. Vess."

"Son of a queen..." She cursed, rather loudly actually, enough for the whole group to be brought attention to it, but probably not enough to catch any unsurprised glances at her.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Alric Kuhn, and I am your host tonight." He was kriffing dead! What in the actual kark? SHE WAS GOING TO BOUNTY THAT BASTARD. That One Sith supporting, scum! If not for actually being not strictly One Sith, she being a huge patriot for the Republic (despite her many crimes present within its space; growing into a military family makes patriotism die hard, so she might be a criminal, but she was at least a REPUBLIC criminal) would probably put him up as the public face of that monstrous "nation". Even if she was wrong to accuse him as such, she felt his company's reputation and connection to the One Sith was enough to loath him. Despite her disappointment in losing the chance to claim his bounty, or double-cross him on his counter-bounty, she was actually glad when the announcement of his death was actually made.

It was sort of comical how many times she's gotten involved with a bounty before something happens to the circumstances of the bounties target or bounty-giver prior to anyone ever actually succeeding in the bounty.

"Orick, what was that about gambling on surprise appearances?" She snarked sardonically, with a cold glare set on [member="Alric Kuhn"].
