Starlight breathed in deep and collapsed onto her knees, cyan eyes slowly losing their glow in the aftermath of the explosion. The taste of blood on her lips and the sensation of being drained told her that she had depleted much of her initial reserves of energy. While she still had some left, perhaps enough to take another fight, Starlight decided that it would be unwise for her to go on without giving herself an injection. Her powers, while strong, were also extremely demanding, at least for a Sith of her strength. It would be quite some time before she was strong enough to harness them over long periods of time.

As Tara finished off the survivors, Starlight injected a dose of her potion into her thigh, a relieved breath escaping from her lips as she did. Then, after placing the pen back on her utility belt, Starlight pushed herself back up on shaky, though strengthening legs and nodded to the Siren.

“I’m ready.”

From there, Starlight led the way into the depths of the tomb. Minutes passed in relative silence as the pair moved through the crypt, first through a series of small areas which bore the marks of abandoned encampments, before descending a winding series of stairs, which would presumably lead to the depths of the tomb. Fortunately, the tomb had some degree of lighting which had survived throughout the centuries, though not enough for the visibility to be much better than that of the night sky. Even so, Starlight pressed on, albeit slowly, especially as she descended the winding stairs.

However, the Qilin paused as she neared the bottom, her eyes going wide as she took in the large, open arena of floating platforms, which were traversing above a seemingly depthless expanse. At the bottom of the stairs was a wide ledge, with a single lever at the center. Starlight glanced over the lever as she reached the bottom, before looking back out to the expanse, then towards Tara.

The question of whether or not to push the lever was likely on both of their minds.

While Tara dealt with the remaining scum, she could sense that Starlight was having some difficulty. She seemed drained. Too bad she didn't know how to suck the life force out of people as she could. But she had a rather destructive ability instead. One Tara could never hope to muster. In terms of raw strength, The First Sister would win. Easily.

"We can take a break if you need...."

Once Starlight gave her the ok yet again, the two would press on. The tomb was dark, but not dark enough so as they couldn't see. Tara was tempted to bring her saber out for light. She never actually made up her mind to do it though. They stayed quiet as they walked until they hit a staircase. Tara would wish the girl a careful descent. At the bottom, they spoke again.

"I have a bad feeling about this....." She would look at Starlight with a shrug of her shoulders and a purse of her lips. "Well......let's get this over with."

While still standing on the last step, she would wave her hand and the lever would slide over....

There would be a sound of a hum making Tara anxious and nervous. Her hand went to her saber for protection. But nothing seemed to happen. Before at least one of the nearest platforms would rise up slightly and head in their direction. Tara scoffed with laughter making a little huffing sound. "Looks like we have our ride." She then jumped onto the platform and gave a thumbs up gesture to First Sister First Sister

Starlight let a deep breath escape from her lips, then took the leap, landing on the platform next to Tara. She nodded to the taller woman, then settled down into a crouched position on her knees as the platform moved across the expanse, not wanting to look down in fear of the height.

A fear which she did not know that she had, until now.

The sensation of motion over such a depthless void made the tiny woman feel discombobulated, which in part was why she had fallen onto her knees, disguising the fact that she might have collapsed if she had attempted to stand. Even now, she felt dizzy, forcing her to place both of her hands on the ground in order to stabilize herself, or else she would fall over.

“I-I’m okay…” The electromancer spoke softly, knowing that Tara was right behind her, yet speaking more to herself than to anyone else. “I’m okay.” She repeated, swallowing nervously as the platform picked up speed, though not fast enough to be dizzying for anyone with a nonexistent to mild fear of heights. Unfortunately, Starlight did not fall under that umbrella, as she was discovering now.

Now collapsing onto the ground, Starlight gave the command for her helmet to come off, her pale features flushing a crimson shade as she began to struggle for breath, her heart pounding in her chest as she did. Her helmet rolled off the side of the platform, falling into the abyss in a sight that further terrified the tiny electromancer, making her arms and legs twitch almost uncontrollably as her world swirled to stars...

Tara stepped aside as much as she could to allow the sister to make her jump over. She then kept her saber raised so as to illuminate the large room around them. Which probably didn't help the girl's nerves. Tara didn't know she was afraid of heights; and apparently, neither did she. Tara looked down at her with a look of curiosity wondering why she was crouched over in such a way. Her friend said she was alright, but Tara didn't seem to believe it.

The First Sister removed her helmet to which Tara could now see how pale the woman was. The helmet rolled off the side and vanished into the abyss. Tara turned and crouched on one knee herself -her saber she held a ways back behind her so as not to have any accidents.

"Hey hey hey!" she tried to get the woman to get a hold of herself. "What's wrong? You're alright." The Force suggested to her what was the matter; Tara followed her instincts. "We'll be across in just a moment. Try to breathe. You'll be alright..."

Tara was worried for the girl. She looked sick. Nothing good would come of this if she didn't come to her senses quickly. Tara had no idea what to do in this situation. She'd never dealt with someone having a panic attack. All she knew was that it was important to keep breathing. So that's what she suggested while she herself tried to remain calm. No sense in having the both of them freak out.

Breathe.

Tara’s voice cut through her panic like a lightsaber through durasteel, at the very least, giving the terrified electromancer something to latch onto over the unfathomably deep abyss. Her hands, though still twitching, were extended in an attempt to feel the Siren’s warmth. However, the pale tint of her porcelain features were indicative of the kind of fear that the Sister had fallen into, not the fear of death that she felt when facing Jedi, but a raw, paralyzing fear that made her sweat profusely and breathe heavily, like a rabbit seized by shock. It was not an empowering fear, such that she could translate into a font of power, at least not yet. Instead, it made her weak and broken.

As the platform began to slow down upon approaching the opposite end of the abyss, shouts echoed across the expanse, the porcine squeals of Gamorreans, the savage grunts of Aqualish, and the shouts of human or Near-Human looters. After a few moments, the platform came to a stop at the ledge, but already, the incoming noises were getting louder, indicating the Siren and the Sister had only moments to prepare to face them.

All the while, the Sister attempted to breathe at the urging of Tara’s voice. However, the teachings of her master and the New Sith Order felt so useless at that moment, under the spell of fear so crippling that she was unable to harness it. It made her feel weak, adding further to the pile of negative emotions afflicting her at such a critical moment.

In order to break the spell, she would have to embrace them all...

The sound of squealing pulled Tara's focus back into her battle mindset. She looked up towards the sounds but saw nothing yet. Tara squinted her eyes as she tried to peer through the darkness. She stood up and held her saber higher in hopes of shining more light towards the entrance. "Get up, Sister. No time for this. Stand up." Her voice was full of authority. Full of determination hoping that the militaristic sound of her tone would snap the girl into action.

Tara stepped off the platform and would swiftly move over to the entrance. She ducked behind the wall and waited to see who would show up. For now...with the Sister waiting at the platform, she was the perfect bait. Tara hadn't intended her to be so, but it would prove a good distraction. And if the First Sister couldn't protect herself after a little fear then she wasn't worth being a Sith.

Closing her saber she let the darkness envelop her. The Gamorreans were the first to walk through the threshold. They saw the girl still kneeling on the platform -although the room was still dim now that Tara's weapon was not lighting anything. Tara stepped forward with a quick lunge and wrapped her hands against the backs of their necks. She began to pull, draining them of the Force. There wasn't much to harvest, so the two squealed a painful cry as their life energy dried up and the pair fell to the floor.

Still shrouded by the darkness she was ready for the next to show up. She kept to the shadows with her saber firmly in her hand. The Aqualish came to a halt at the door and nearly fell over the pair of pigs on the floor. He.....or she, looked down at the two allowing Tara to come right up behind it and ignite her saber right through its chest. The fish blabbered a death rattle before falling just as silent as its counterparts and landing on the ground. Now all that were left were the humans. Tara closed off her saber once more and vanished into the darkness as laser bolts flew through the entrance where her form used to be.

The voice of her partner cut like a lightsaber, but the depth of her fear was yet too great, in spite of the fact that the platform had reached the edge of the abyss. All she had to do was move a couple feet to reach safety, but even that demanded more strength of will than the Sister could bring to bear at that moment. Nevertheless, at the encouragement of Tara’s voice, the Sister pushed herself up, moving to step off of the platform and onto safety until…

The platform moved back out towards the abyss.

It happened just as the Sister was taking the step that would have brought her over to the safety. Instead, that step carried her down into the abyss, causing her to stumble as her center of gravity fell off the platform. A high-pitched scream left her lips as she did, though the Qilin only managed to just break her fall by grabbing on to the edge, though her grip was tenuous, at best.

Now, panic.

She felt her fingers slipping almost as soon as they found grip on the edge. Fear settled in once more, now more potent than before to the point where Tara’s stern words seemed to dissipate in her mind. Animal instinct of desperation overcame her, her fingers clawing at the ledge in a futile effort as her breath began to accelerate in her chest. Kicking her legs, the Sister attempted to find a perch, but failed, finding instead that the movement had upset what was left of her grip, thereby sending her falling into the abyss as a scream ripped from her lips.

Then, fear.

There, she descended into the abyss, now forced to face her fear or perish in the process. For a few tortuous moments, the Sister stumbled, wracked with thoughts of her own mortality and weakness. Nevertheless, as the blackness overcame her sight, the Sister closed her eyes of her own volition, embracing her fear and its seemingly infinite depths of dread.

And yet, at the bottom, there was pure, almost limitless power. She needed only to tap into it.

And so, she did.

Moments later, Tara would see the Sister’s tiny form levitating up from the depths, a fiery roar on the Qilin’s lips as Lightning manifested from her fingertips, before being discharged towards a pair of mercenaries...

The scream was enough to distract Tara from the battle at hand. Her head snapped around as she saw the Sister stumble and nearly fall to her death. Her hands grappled at the ledge desperately. Tara wanted to help, but she was in the middle of a firefight. This painful reminder came when a blaster bolt blew past her arm, leaving a slight burn.

Tara cried out in pain as she recoiled. She turned around with anger in her eyes. Using the Force, she called upon the mystic abilities to create a concussive blast. The three humans in the hall were thrown backwards to the ground.

"Star!" Tara screamed as she turned back towards the ledge. She dropped her saber and slid, throwing her hand out in hopes of grabbing the Sister's hand. Their fingers brushed one another too late. Tara watched in horror as her friend fell into the darkness. She screamed her name once more with disbelief.

Anger fumed inside her. Her friend was doomed. Doomed to a death in the dark. The humans behind her had gotten to their feet and back to their senses. Tara was weaponless and unable to defend herself. Blaster bolts rushed towards her; Tara rolled to the side and back to dodge them. Just as she thought there was no escape, she heard something behind her. The crackling of lightning made the hair on her skin stand up. The men looked past Tara and she saw the disbelief in their eyes. Tara's head slowly turned back to see what they were staring at only to see the First Sister flying.

Flying? That was possible? She herself had levitated from time to time in deep meditation but she'd never used it for practical reasons. Now she had a whole new skill she wanted to learn. Following this, the Sister unleashed a torrent of lightning ending the men with her powers. Tara's eyes followed the trail of lightning. She watched the men writhe in pain before dying out. The Siren then watched her friend float over the ledge and back to her feet.

"Star-starlight. You can fly? I....I had no idea that was possible. Are you alright? Are you...hurt or anything?"
