Topic: The Alliance Demilitarization Act
IC Information: Due to the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War, there are very few who could reasonably challenge the might of the Galactic Alliance, and conflicts have come to an end. With this, it is reasonable to allow for some amount of demilitarization over the years. With the Sith mostly defeated there is no need for armies. Instead, the Jedi can take their roles as peacekeepers as they did in the days of the Galactic Republic.
OOC Intent: Well my character in secret wants to leave the Alliance vulnerable from within, I didn't want to put it in the IC information because it would expose my character's true intentions.

Topic: The Expedited Reconstruction Act
IC Information: The recent war against the Brotherhood of the Maw, while an Alliance victory, has left barren vast regions of space, with the planets scarred and infrastructure in shambles. The collapse of the Empire and a variety of other polities, while less drastic, has caused significant disruptions. By leveraging the remaining assets of its fallen foes by auctioning off Exclusive Salvage Rights tied to specific locations and routing the obtained funding towards reconstruction at home and abroad, the Alliance can act decisively to curtail the looming crisis before it can spiral out of control.
OOC Intent: The Senate has recently discussed both reconstruction efforts and the resources left behind by the Empire. This addresses both. At the same time, it would generate sizeable contracts in both the salvage and infrastructure industries. Globex is coincidentally heavily involved in both.

Topic: The Planetary Secession Act
IC Information: A bill proposed by the Senator of Chaldea which would allow individual planets/systems to peacefully leave the Galactic Alliance. The decision must be made based on a democratic vote, and the planet's government must fulfill certain requirements in order to cut ties with the GA.
OOC Intent: To give Chaos custom planets an IC method of leaving the GA. As such, this bill applies to only a small number of worlds who would be able to secede. Canon planets would not have this option; it is assumed that they would never vote to secede or fulfill the requirements necessary.

Topic: Possible diplomatic relations with the Rimward Trade League.
IC Information: With the collapse of several major powers including allied states and the chaos it brings, the Galactic Alliance is in need of new allies even in peacetime. The Rimward Trade League shares similar democratic values and have proven capable of defending itself. Offering a diplomatic channel to the Trade League, would be in the Alliance's best interests, especially for future dialogue between both powers.
OOC Intent: To make it more possible for future stories between GA and the Rimward Trade League in addition to having an interesting discussion within the senate about foreign policy.

Topic: Galactic Alliance National Fair (GANF) (pending cooler rename)
IC Information: To encourage greater unity and strengthen cultural bonds throughout the Alliance, the GANF will be an annual planet/system-wide fair for a host member in the Alliance. The fair will provide the host the opportunity to promote its local culture and help expose itself to the rest of the Alliance. Initial funding will be provided by the Alliance to the host to kickstart the fair and provide necessary support. Transport to the fair will be free from anywhere in the Alliance. The host will be selected by an independent committee established by this legislation. The fair will last a full year, after which a new host will be selected.
OOC Intent: NEW THREADS NEW THREADS NEW THREADS and also there are so many cool places in the Alliance. Let's go visit them. Free setting for any number of stories, plus lore and whatnot -- makes the galaxy feel a little more lived in. Writers will make proposals for a particular world to host every once in a while.

Topic: Expand Freedom of Movement Rights to Self-Aware Droids
IC Information: The Alliance's integration of Ord Vaug has, for the first time, given us a droid sanctuary world. However, such sanctuary is completely ineffective if droids are prevented from reaching it. Droids that declare their intention to move to Ord Vaug (or similar future sanctuary worlds) should be given not only the right to do so but also the means. Mandates free passage to Ord Vaug from anywhere in the Alliance for droids who consciously and actively declare their intent to go there.

The Improved Hyperspace Route Protection Act [IHRPA]
IC Information:
The Recent Conflict over Ryloth between the Alliance and the Mandalorian Enclave and the rapid expansion of the Mandalorian Domain so close to important hyperspace routes calls for increased security and protection measures for the Alliance Merchant Fleet to continue operations without fear of enemy privateers and raiders disrupting trade during a prolonged conflict.
OOC Intent:
The Protection of Trade Federation and Alliance Shipping from Mandalorian Hired Privateers and a chance for the Federation to expand operations into Mandalorian Space without suspicion.

Special Committees of the Senate - Fact Finding Committee about the Conflict over Ryloth

Maldor has proposed that a Fact-Finding committee be formed to accompany military forces and provide accurate intelligence to the Senate about the conduct of the war with the Enclave over Ryloth, so that they can most nimbly respond to concerns raised by the new war. He has volunteered to join the committee personally, proceeding to the front-lines of the conflict with the military forces.

Topic: Create a Special Factfinding Committee to Monitor wartime operations at the front.

IC Information: Maldor Mecetti has argued that the Senate needs representatives embedded at the front line to monitor the progress of the war and deliver accurate information to the Senate.

OOC Intent: Provide some front line action and drama for characters not typically involved in such things, as well as using events at the front to incite dramatic arguments in the Senate about the progress of the war, with every observed advance or loss being spun into a disaster or triumph.

IC Information: A bill which would grant equal legal rights to all Alliance citizens regardless of sex/gender, effective on all member worlds.
OOC Intent: This would be a massive undertaking which would place the Alliance at odds with a handful of its member worlds whose governments and/or cultures legally suppress their citizens on the basis of sex. If it is voted in, it would also alter the Chaos lore of canon worlds such as Hapes and Ukatis in fundamental ways. Because it would affect established canon, I do not expect it to be popular among voters, assuming the issue ever makes it to the debate floor and isn't rejected on premise. Then again, droid rights was also a close vote yet it was still able to pass. If nothing else, Sycorax can at least say that she proposed this law as part of her ongoing fight for equality on Hapes.
