far out, man
Tracyn roared a roar that could shatter mountains, before his facial features changed. Blood-soaked face, more of Kaine’s blood than his own, looked downward. A beskad, his beskad, went straight through his armor, cutting through the beskar like butter. He blinked several times, before coming off of the blade. It slid off of him, a sickening sound that only a blade exiting flesh could match. Tracyn looked down at the wound, then up to Kaine. Tracyn knew, right then and there. That this was it. He would bleed out in a moment, die from this mortal wound. He slid off of the black blade, and left it in Kaine’s hands. He glared at Kaine, at first, hatefully, but then, he sort of felt empty. Maybe it was divine intervention, to have some final moments of peace and clarity. He closed his eyes for a moment. He felt hands pulling him, pulling him to the force, to let go of his hate, let go of his anger, to become one with the force, to die, at peace. The most peaceful memory, came to his mind, as his body lingered to the edge. How Tracyn would miss the little things, the small moments that he had taken for granted. Gazing out to the passing stars in his ship, the feel of the beskar on his bare hands, the weight of his armor coming off. The cool breeze on his skin during his morning runs, the feeling of sweat dripping from his body, the gentle blinking in the comfort of a lover. How he would miss all of those things.
And what he would have done, done with all that time, all those second chances. @Cassus, how he could start being a father again. Or at least, try to be. He would miss his wife, Asha. He had lost her before, and now she would lose him- but there was no coming back for Tracyn, no sort of resurrection. No hope for renewal, for revival. For some sort of glimmer of redemption. The Jedi had worked tirelessly, to try and help him redeem himself. No, this was it. This was the end. Tracyn backstepped, facing Kaine. He blinked several times, before speaking softly.
“Vicious, isn’t it? The life that you and I live…So short, so violent. You ever wonder, what could have been? If you hadn’t taken that lightsaber, hadn’t put on that armor, hadn’t said yes? I bet you do. I bet you, somewhere, have regrets. Someone used to hold us when we cried, took care of us when we were small. I wonder if they would still, if they knew what kind of monsters we’d become. Me…a rampaging killing machine who leaves battlefields bloody and battered, and you….I don’t even want to think about what you’ve done. I’ve beaten more people to pulps than I wish to count, but you…You’re a monster. And I may have lived as a demon, but in death…I have never been of more clear and sound mind.”
Tracyn turned, holding the wound at his side. With the last bit of strength in the force he had, he gathered his own lightsaber to his hand. He held it tightly, before turning back to Kaine. There was a nod, and then, Tracyn stepped backwards. He closed his eyes, and felt his body drift peacefully downward. His body slammed into the rocks, his armor and body weight causing a mass of dust, pebbles and mud to slide downward, and eventually, the water. Tracyn, slowly, reached into the pouch at his hip. The coin. The coin that Phylis gave him, was clutched in his hands, and he relaxed his muscles, awaiting for the final physical feeling, the impact.Tracyn was still alive when he hit the water, but when he drifted below, his life force, was snubbed out entirely. It was torn violently, and practically screamed out through the force, due to the sudden disturbance, and the violence at which he died, even he himself felt at peace when he died. There would be no more glory for Tracyn, no more splendorous battles, no more conquests. No more fighting the Sith, no more fighting for the Republic. No more weddings with his brothers, no more jokes with Josh. Nothing. This was the end for Tracyn. Tracyn felt his body swing upwards to the surface for a moment, and he took one final breath, and closed his eyes. The force reached outwards, enveloping the area around him, but then, the energy faded, as he drifted to the bottom of the shadowed lake. Not even the predatory animals in the water dared to come near him, he still had the aura of the killer, even in this state. After he impacted the water, the planet became silent. The giant predators had gathered on the horizon, but dared not approach Kaine. Whoever could kill Tracyn, was truly a man deserving of fear. Kaine, had earned his right to be called feared now, for he had slain the great Tracyn Ordo, albeit, he did not walk away without a significant beating in the process. But the secrets and mysteries of the battle only had to be known to Tracyn and Kaine, and Tracyn was in no position to be telling anyone, anytime soon. Or ever. Kaine would walk away with his trophy, his sword and Tracyn’s blood on it. And he would tell those who knew Tracyn, he would tear their hopes of his survival asunder with a simple display of his sword and his blood upon it.
Tracyn’s body drifted downward, disappearing in the growing darkness of the lake, what little light there was at the bottom of that dark lake.
Silence marked the end of the demon.
