A relatively quiet planet in the Outer Rim, Cantros 7 is home to a proud species of felinoids with a history that contained catalysts for change and conspiracists alike as did so many others across the galaxy. Fighting for their people in spite of the obstacles placed before them, however, was a tradition. It led them to being staunch supporters of the Rebellion over eight hundred years ago, in spite of those few outliers who conspired to bring them to heel beneath the Empire.​

The Cantrosians of today are no different, though certainly wiser and more knowledgeable with the passage of time. They have those who argue to welcome the First Order to the system and their home world, and others who cite the original incarnation as one of the reasons to refuse. The current planetary administration is heavily in favor of joining the First Order family of worlds based on their recent expansions and patently obvious change in philosophy.​

As such, the First Order has been invited to a summit on Cantros 7, in the capital city of Minkaren, to discuss the formalities and realities of joining the fold.​

In the capital city of Minkaren, the Cantrosian government has invited the First Order’s representatives to a summit to discuss the details of joining the fold. It promises to be a lengthy negotiation, however, as the opposition has vowed to put a stop to the proceedings by any means at their disposal. Bring your government official to join in the negotiations, your spy to stay one step ahead of the opposition bent on destruction, or your military personnel to protect Cantrosians and First Order personnel alike when a pocket of trouble breaks out.​

The First Order has arrived on a day of remembrance for the Cantrosians. In memory of those who joined the Rebellion and lost their lives keeping their people and their homeworld free, it is a day marked by ceremonies and historical displays scattered throughout the capital city of Minkaren and its sister city of Samiris. The opposition has made threats through the media to officials and civilians alike, blatantly promising a day no one will forget for centuries to come. Bring your military personnel to protect those in need and join the Cantrosians in fighting back, bring your spy to help root out the opposition before it gets any worse, or bring your medical/support personnel to help with the aftermath of the inevitable.​

Outside of the official negotiations and the threats of opposition violence, there is a thriving technological industry on Cantros, with advancements seen in many fields. There are prominent business leaders holding summits and meetings of their own within the capital and other outlying cities, offering the possibility of new business and the extension of supply lines to those within the First Order or allied businesses willing to negotiate. Bring your business leader to negotiate a deal, your spy to ferret out industrial espionage and make the deals more lucrative, or your medical/support personnel to negotiate for the technology and supplies that will give you an edge.​

[Rusty]

It had been many years since Rusty had last actively been involved with running a large business. RCFC, his original endeavor, had grown too unwieldy for his tastes. His current business, RCAA, was more of a boutique workshop than anything else. It gave him the opportunity to build and sell outrageous creations for equally outrageous sums of money, but at some point, he found himself missing the old days. Not the whole running a multistellar business empire that practically covered a planet part, that shit was for the birds. What he missed was the power to say "I want to do this," and then being able to do it. RCAA simply didn't have the resources to work on really large scale projects. His nuclear trebuchet had nearly been enough to set him in the red, and that wasn't a feeling he liked.

This time, Rusty would do it right. He knew he had the potential to build something massive. The trick was to design the company from the ground up to handle growth. His new venture, Oxidation Industries, had the potential to be the Next Big Thing when it came to weapons and equipment. But first, he needed customers and contracts.

This summit on Cantros was the perfect place to start. The First Order was apparently moving back into the area, and there was a big tech show going down. He had crates with some of his past greatest hits, including the Jar of Bees that everyone seemed so enamored with. If he played his cards right, he stood to make a tidy profit, and launch Oxidation Industries into the stars.

"...And let's really delve into the Battle of Jakku of 5ABY. Now, at this point, we've discussed the most pivotal large military engagements of the age- the Battle of Coruscant, while audacious, failed to secure the leadership of the Republic and the effort effectively broke the Confederate war machine; the Battle of Yavin showed the fence-sitters of the galaxy that the Rebel Alliance was more then a passing insurgency to be snuffed out by the Empire-"

"Sir, we're almost to the summit and we really need to go over some talking poin-"

"- and the Battle of Endor broke the Empire's will, and ability to effectively present itself as a united front. Jakku was important for several reasons. The first of course, was that it irrevocably split the once-glorious Galactic Empire into a group of bickering warlords, putting on it on a permanent back-foot. This was a state it would dwell in for nearly seven years before reconstituted as the Imperial Remnant by Admirals Natasi Daala and Gilaad Pellaeon. Second- and most importantly- the Battle of Jakku acted as a lightning rod,. As the New Republic focused on expanding its territory, governing, and dealing with the divided fiefdoms of the warlords at their leisure, it allowed the nascent First Order to build and grow in the far reaches of the Unknown Regions."


"Sir? BY THE FORCE, I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR M-"

"As an aside, the Battle of Jakku was the reintroduction of the Jedi Knights on the battlefield for the first time since the Clone Wars over twenty years beforehand. Founders of the-then fledgling 'New Jedi Order' were devastatingly effective in rallying New Republic troops, and leading deadly sorties into the fray- Kyle Katarn, Galen 'Starkiller' Marek, General Rahm Kota, Corran Horn, Cal Kestis, and of course Luke Skywalker, to name a few. Skywalker's actions at Jakku earned him the dubious distinction of being the only man (this author has confirmed!) to earn a 'Flee on Sight' order from the First Order, which was not rescinded until the emergence of the FO during the 2nd Galactic Civil War. Now, what he did was quite simple. You see-"

Zakar Vass blinked as his datapad was snatched out of his hands by his one-time TA and current chief of staff, Aidra. He took on a look of scandalization- with no avail. He quickly schooled his expression into contrition. Still, nothing. Finally, the Moff sighed, apologizing under his breath. Aidra had agreed immediately to be his chief of staff when he was selected to be the Minister of Education, and had been instrumental in organizing the Outer Rim tour on the fly, speaking with a number of governments about the benefits of the Dosuun Standard of Education.

Satisfied, Aidra swiped out of his manuscript on the datapad, pulling up briefing materials for the summit at Minkaren.

"So, as you know, we're going to be part of the delegation charged with speaking to the Cantrosian government. We're being pulled off the tour to discuss the Dosuun Standard and it's benefits to the Cantrosian people- this is coming straight from the Grand Moff's office. Your a fairly junior Moff on the Council, so to be involved in this level of negotiation so early can mean several thin-"

"I'm aware", Zakar interrupted gently. Aidra tended to get bogged down in the political calculus, whereas he liked the work; most of the time that was good, but occasionally she missed the forest for the trees. "I do read my briefings on occasion, thank you very much. What about the insurgency?" At that, Aidra looked distinctly uncomfortable.

"We've received credible threats of violence from the opposition", she confirmed after a long pause. Aidra glanced at Zakar's sleeve. "Are you bringing-"

As if to answer her question, the Moff flicked his hand, and the unmistakeable curved hilt of a lightsaber fell out. He flicked his hand again, and the saber was gone. He smiled. "Never leave home without it- old habit from the wars."

Zakar looked out the window. "Looks like we're here. Let's get to work, shall we?"

Fevris Derzelas was not one who particularly enjoyed social outings. The majority of times, the solitude of her laboratory, the company of unfinished paperwork, or even an unscheduled late night shift at the hospital would be favored over a gathering. However, this did not mean that Fevris found no charm whatsoever in these kind of events, and she could certainly find reason enough to make herself present when there was an incentive. Today was such an occasion.

During the later years, Fevris had been shifting the bulk of her efforts towards two endeavors in particular. The first, her positioning within the First Imperial Medical Services and her newly found interest in the political and social scene adjacent to the healthcare field. The second, the growth, development, and progress of her corporation. Both of these objectives were in service of the same ultimate goal, serving the First Order and helping further it into a new greatness. One as impactful as the one they had held in the past, but unmarred by the mistakes that now were put to rest in history.

Today held the promise of proving beneficial to all of her goals. The corporate summits that were taking place all around Cantros provided the perfect opportunity to display the achievements of Noxis Corporation, to provide insight into its ongoing research that was of public knowledge and to potentially strike connections that could be cultivated into contracts, partnerships, or agreements of any kind. This was particularly true taking into consideration that it was not only the First Order that made itself present on Cantros, but the Confederacy too.

As if all of that hadn't been enough to convince the good Doctor that this event was not worth missing, the fact that it was the perfect excuse to spend a whole day next to a certain Confederate lady would have been enough on its own to get her to go practically anywhere. So she had put on one of her fine suits, placed the pins of the First Order insignia and NoxaCorp's logo on the lapel of her jacket and prepared for a day of businesswork.

The dark blue eyes of the doctor met Shalita's as she handed her a flute filled with wine, a rare smile on her lips.

"Since you are here, I know that at the very least I'll enjoy myself."

Terrorism. The Confederacy of Independent Systems knew the word well. Gerwald knew it all too personally. While the CIS had experienced the damage of the act first hand, the wolf had been intimately connected to it. It had pained him to know two women that he had known, that some would argue he had loved, could rise against a nation they had once been loyal to. What devastated him was to know that his sister, Alwine had been among them. That was why he found himself among the party which answered the call to aid the First Order in safeguarding against rumored attacks.

Where one sibling had joined a band of terrorists, another was among the First Order. Gerwald would not sit by and watch his brother, Varick Lechner , be put in a position to defend against such evils alone. They were all that was left of their family, as far as Gerwald knew, and he would abandon him.

Gerwald found his way to the rendezvous where he and his brother were meant to meet. Both of them had agreed to bring others with them to help guard and patrol the cities. While Gerwald hoped this was an occasion where they were preparing for the worst where nothing would happen, the lupine had a feeling this was not going to be the case. Regardless of what took place, Gerwald was happy to be seeing his brother again.

It had been too long.

Things had changed since they had last seen each other. Gerwald was no longer a fledgling squire among the Knights Obsidian. The newest Lord Commander had worked his way through the ranks with hard work, and many bad decisions. He would never pretend that his actions had made him the best candidate for the position, but others had felt his loyalty to those who followed him was what the force order needed. They had been devastated by a cataclysmic event, and the task of rebuilding them fell to the wolf.

His armor reflected who he was. The wolf that adorned his cape was more than just a symbol to those who knew what he was. Gerwald was far from the young and reckless wolf his brother had known. Perhaps Var would see it. Gerwald hoped this reunion would be a good one. After all, they had a city to protect.

[Caio]

Just my fethin' luck

Caio wished he'd a closed helmet like the stormtrooper contingent but the respirators had been removed for honour guard duties. He did his best to still his face to expressionless but his clenched jaw just made him look like he was in pain. He'd never even heard of Cantros and here he was as part of the diplomatic delegation. The rest of the platoon had not reacted that well either on being informed about the news. He wondered if the stormtroopers accompanying them felt the same but they were faceless behind their helmets.

Bastards. They were tough feckers though and quite apt to make it clear if they felt any of the army or navy were stepping out of bounds. That clarification was usually administered with a fist. He'd learnt to stick to the billet on board and only head off exploring with others. Their officers had despaired at how primitive some of the latest batch were. Caio was embarrassed to admit that he'd spent more than one hour gazing in wonder and horror out at the vast expanse of space as they'd journeyed here.

Better than how I reacted when we first took off for training. He'd been a mess, vomiting in space for the first time and then praying to any god that would listen. Then had come army basic training. The First Order didn't care if any of the latest tithe had combat experience before, as far as they were concerned, they knew nothing. It'd been an experience, barked at by instructors in a language he barely knew while mingling with people from a dozen other worlds. He'd learnt discipline too.

World three? World four? He was turning into a regular citizen of the galaxy. He was snapped out of his daydreaming by a barked order. Caio moved robotically, snapping to attention with the rest of the platoon. Their lieutenant was eyeing them, her teeth gritted. Lt. Kaza had not been impressed to find half of them struggled speaking Basic. She viewed the Coilltean contingent amongst the platoon like they still wore furs and screamed when they saw fire.

"We're going to review it a final time" she said, trying to keep her words slow. She pretended to ignore the side of mouth translations that were occurring simultaneously. Kaza looked tired, had probably been up half the night pouring over dataslates for drill regulations in case they got snatched for an honour guard for a dignatory. With luck they'd just spend the day at guard and accompanying diplomats. Her own career aspirations did not include making a scene in front of VIPs with a platoon of barbarians.

They ran through it and her grunt showed they were passable. That was all the praise there would be. "Platoon, leeefft turn!" she barked and they wheeled as one. "Forward, march!". Moving in step, they marched towards the summit.

 

[Ryssa Yvarro]

Primo Victorian had been looking to expand, and with moving back into First Order territory. It only seemed right that they are here on Cantros to negotiate with the locals. Well, the locals and with other corporations of which Ryssa was very interested to get to know. Always seeking to invest and partner on different projects. Ryssa left a message for Djonas Vile informing him of where she would be and that she wouldn't mind seeing him again, most likely on Seoul, in Noryang. The seafood there was spectacular, the droid pilot informed her of their arrival and advised on what to wear. ​

Ryssa took it to heart and dressed appropriately for Cantros, and disembarked the shuttle in due time. She got a look at the venue and thus far it didn't seem so bad. Here's to another day, another credit in the bank. The Galidraani woman looked over and happened a glance at the others, Fevris Derzelas , Shalita Verd and Rusty and gave them each a nod of acknowledgment and a smile. ​

When people spoke of corporate opportunity they tended to think of the worlds of the core, of the developed markets where titans of industry clashed for a market share, where smaller companies danced between the combat of those titans to secure their own sales. It was the image from every holodrama and novel that filled the air…and it was a lucrative market to compete in. No-one could deny that. However, that focus on the core ignored markets that with a little work could be equally lucrative.

John loved the feeling of securing a deal in the core, there was little that compared to it but…if he was honest he got more personal joy out of deals like this. Deals that moved into developing markets, helping to unite the lesser markets of the galaxy into a cohesive whole.

That wasn’t necessarily the case here, Cantros was already a developed market, however, it was a market with plenty of opportunities. Which is why he was here, though it seemed like he wasn’t the only one who had thought so.

Hands slipped into the pockets of his suit as John heard the door of the vehicle that had brought him to the summit close behind him, the chauffeur already moving off. He could see a diverse group had gathered for the event, though one face stood out to him. It always paid to know about your competition, even if you moved in different circles and had yet to meet. You never knew what fate would through your way. The analysts back at Locke and Key’s headquarters on Naboo had developed dossiers on every major corporate executive, dossiers which the man’s cybernetics made available to him at a moment’s notice. Some people though…some people he didn’t need to resort to trickery for. A friendly nod at the room before he stepped forward, letting the motion carry him up to stand next to the woman who had arrived just before him.

“I see Primo Victorian is moving back into the area.”

The engineer turned slightly, before offering Ryssa a smile. They were competitors, would no doubt be competing for contracts in the future but…the engineer in John couldn’t deny that he’d always admired the companies designs and technological development.

“I’m looking forward to it.”

Gerwald Lechner had a habit of biting off far more than he could chew.

That wasn’t the primary reason she had arrived to Cantros 7—But she could feel him in the city nonetheless. Their relationship in regards to the First Order was still young. New. Just as she had been during their initial diplomatic summit; she was curious. She wanted to know how the resurgent nation functioned, operated, and conducted business. The easiest way to discern that was with her own two eyes. She didn’t like second-hand accounts, nor, did she find favor with those who had something obvious or otherwise to gain. It was the easiest way to be misled.

Her travels took her quietly through First Order space on a Seroth-class Frigate named the Ferocity. Srina had taken pains to politely inform any necessary individuals within the higher echelon that she would be present, plus, adhering to any necessary requirements. Her favorite vessel was most definitely an assault frigate, but the role it served was personal transport. It was a singular ship. Not a Dreadnought. Not a fleet. It was equipped for survival. Stealthy, fast, and with enough firepower to hold its own against low to medium level threats—It fit the requirements of an Exarch.

It was the first ship she had ever thought to call home. Darth Metus , her master, had gifted her the Frigate among the moons of the gas-giant Zhar in a gesture of solidarity. It had been an effort to bring her peace. She had never been so far from Eshan, for so long, and the little moon-child always seemed adrift. There and gone.

The part of her that spent so much time with Darth Empyrean was pulled toward potential business ventures at the Corporate Summit while her duties to the Vicelord pulled her more toward political efforts. Then—The more immediate threat. From what Srina understood, this day, was important to the Cantrosians. Similar to the events of Relovian. It meant so little to the outside galaxy, but, everything to the native people. Freedom. It was a core Confederate tenant.

How could she not support it?

The Ferocity waited patiently for her while she made her way quietly through a variety of historical displays and small pop-up venues. The people in the Capital City, Minkaren, were proud. A chill ran down her spine. It reminded her of the events that had taken place on Rodia and Ryloth. When the threat had been delivered, they’d tried to convince the civilians to take shelter. To cease their celebrations and retreat to a safe distance. They had refused—And it was their choice.

The same thing was happening here. Imminent threats had been made. The people remained.

Srina only hoped this outcome would be different.

Shadowy shapes flickered in the alleyways, between buildings, and along the rooftops of carefully maintained dwellings. Magnguard. They stayed out of sight. Out of mind. She only brought them out of storage on the Ferocity to supplement ranks if needed. Utilizing IG-100’s could be risky, but, in lieu of a team of Knight Obsidian—This was her best option. The feline species that dominated this world didn’t seem to have any aversion to her presence, though, she stuck out like a sore thumb. White hair, pale skin, with a dark cloak that Kyyrk had given her before his travels. It was a little too large on her slender frame, but, the added length caused it to sweep in the way she preferred. She wore the hood down and a deep amethyst traveling dress beneath it. Protective leggings tucked into friction-grip boots prepared her for anything she might find. Her weaponry was limited. She wasn’t bringing an arsenal onto foreign soil. Just enough to be effective; to do as promised.

The silent Exarch made her way through the exhibits and found herself passing through a thick grove of low hanging trees. Normally, she wouldn’t have stopped. It wasn’t a place any enemy would attack because it held no impact. There weren’t enough people, unless, they were aiming to contaminate the water supply. She had a one-track mind. Find the enemy—Kill it. She would ask questions of a corpse before allowing them to roam free. Something about the light on the water caught her focus. Reminded her of someone.

Mercurial eyes closed, hiding a breath of pain, before banishing it.

Tellu. Emotional Tellu. Brave Tellu. Smart, strong, beautiful Tellu.

In pain Tellu.

Like so many of her sisters, Tellu, was dead.

She could feel the one she had always been closest to like the touch of wind to her cheek. The light color of her hair was the echo of starlight. Her eyes, the sky. Her anger—Like fire. It had been a long time since she had felt that swell familiarity with such acute precision. It left the emotionless Exarch standing in silence. Alone. She felt, nothing. Could never.

But she heard it. Somehow, heard her.

“…I’m here Tellu…”​

If it was even real. Srina shook her head slightly. It was foolish to think so. Foolish to even respond. They were ghosts. Her sisters had returned to the Force. With, or without her.

They would not come back.

Nausea swelled within her, gave room for pause around her.

Bloody red bile ran through her while standing idle.

Up through it came, forward and out the crimson fluid ran wild.

Buckle down, knees to the ground her body felt hollow.

Vision blurred to the already disturbed, the hunger that mocked her.

A song of violence danced around her like mynocks.

Mynocks locked up, chained to the rooftops to stop them and mock them.

Clip them and drop them, so too did she feel the bottom of the depths of the Chaos around her.

Trees uprose through to the tip-top branches, leaves shaded over her they choked the light around her.

Wretched and wreathed by the trees desperate to breathe more than the blood that pooled beside her.

Knees drenched with the red, red blood, sins of the mother, sins of the father all came crashing down upon her.

Tellu Nysana Talon died on Hoylin, the body laid out on Monastery - a body taken and stolen thrown into the dirt of a Cantrosian Soothsayer.

All the hurt she had been burdened, all the lies she'd been sold to fell through capsized onto the disguise.

Surmised by the ritual, fell down into the pit onto the thickening pool of mud, blood, and dirt.

Her soul served upon a silver platter, she looked up through the canopy up top.

She screeched and screamed the degraded beauty unleashed her wail.

The pale female inhaled and once more screamed out an exhale.

[Djonas Vile]

​

As Amidala's Lament exited hyperspace, the sight of Cantros came into view ahead of it. Djonas watched from behind his pilot as they approached the planet. Djonas could not remember the last time he was this far from home. Normally, it would take his duty to pull him this far out to the rim of the galaxy. Now, it was pleasure. He had been called on by his lover once more to provide her with the company that she deserves.

As the starship entered Cantros' atmosphere, Djonas left the cockpit for the hangar bay and readied his car for a drive. He could feel the sudden thud as his starship landed on Cantros. The hangar doors opened up and the sun shined in Djonas' eyes. "Beautiful day." he uttered. He reached onto the dashboard and took hold of his sunglasses before putting them on. The engine of his airspeeder purred so gently as it awlays did. Djonas took off as soon as he prepared, driving towards where he would meet his love for yet another adventure.

He'd forgone his helmet for the day, leaving it behind, secured in the shuttle he'd arrived in some few hours before. He had done his best in that ensuing time to assist the Cantrosian security forces with sweeping the ceremonial spots, posting sentries, and keeping a watchful eye out. They were uneasy with him at first, though remarkably polite about both that and their curiosity. A felinoid species and a canid species working in harmony? It was as if the Force itself was amused at the idea and set them on the path to discovery.​

​

What had cemented him in their good graces was the brief respite he'd taken to shift into his wolf shape and allow the children preparing for one of the ceremonies to climb all over him as if he were a furry sort of jungle gym. It was an entertaining moment, and all too brief, capped off by their hysterical giggles when he sneezed. Varick grinned as he strode down the narrow side street, one hand holding his comlink, the other running through his mussed hair. "You would have been proud of me, Marionne...I didn't chase anyone up a tree. Honestly, there's a great deal of good work we could do here. You'll have my full report after today's festivities. No, I feel it as well. Much as I hope it will go smoothly, the opposition is deeply entrenched and they have enough support to spur them on. I'll be mindful."​

Ending the call, he fastened it back to his gauntlet and continued on. He felt Gerwald's arrival and it did his heart good to sense his brother whole and hearty. Would that they were meeting once more under different circumstances...but such were their paths. Had he been able to remain within the Confederacy, perhaps things would have been different. There was, however, little use in playing the 'what if' game. They had each followed their paths the best way they knew how, letting the Force guide each of them where it would.​

Although there was a moment or three the last few years where Varick had wondered if it was the Force or some part of Gerwald's anatomy making his choices for him. A part of him wanted very much to shake sense into his little brother with some of the stories that had reached him, but he'd done his best to stay back and remember that in spite of everything, his little brother was still an adult in his own right with the capability and right to make decisions however he saw fit.​

Varick paused and breathed deeply before rounding the last corner and emerging into the broad plaza where he had set to meet Gerwald. It was bustling with people, the preparations nearing completion for one of the larger of the ceremonies taking place that day. The statue of Two Sisters, as it was called, bore garlands of flowers woven by children, and the dais was set at the base for the speeches and ceremony.​

His smile broadened and his voice bore the warmth and happiness that the sight of his brother brought to him. "Gerwald! Come give me a hug, little brother...for love of the Force it's good to see you!" he called out, striding towards Gerwald with his arms open. Differences aside, this was still his brother, and he could not conceive of a time he would not be happy to see him.​

"You look so respectable...almost didn't recognize you for a moment there." Varick added lightly, mirth lighting his gaze. "Lord Commander...it suits you. I can't begin tell you how proud I was when I heard."​

Ambient Music: Chopin 'Nocturnes'​

The space designated for the technology and business summit was a study in the contrast of modern and traditional. There were those Cantrosians who favored traditional dress and adornment, and others who preferred to dress in a manner akin to those seen in the latest holoadverts. Either way, the features that marked them as Cantrosian united them, and those representing their companies and interests mingled together, with business already being conducted as the other attendees filtered in.​

There were tables of refreshments and near-silent serving droids floating about the room, with a staggering variety of cuisines represented. There would be something for almost every palate and a great many dietary restrictions had been taken into account in the choices made of dishes to be served. It would not do, of course, to be unable to offer a drink and a morsel to someone you were hoping to do business with. Such a thing would be highly inappropriate within the Cantrosian culture, not only in the business world.​

There were displays of of native flora spaced throughout the large room, with a number of fountains and strategically placed benches should the need for a measure of discretion be necessary in order that business might be properly done. A lone Cantrosian musician was set off on a dais to one side, providing ambient music that filtered through the space alongside the sounds of falling water.​

"Thank you all forrr joining us, this afternoon. Please avail yourrrselves of the rrefrreshments as we begin." the lyrical voice belonged to a petite Cantrosian female clad in a modern vinesilk dress, the ivory fabric fitted to her form. Her heels clicked along the natural stone floor as she strode forward, a glass of something pink and decidedly bubble clasped in her left hand. "I am Miarra Soutrros, chairrwoman of the business boarrd that called this summit. We have the distinct advantage of knowing who most of you arre by vrirtue of your public positions, but allow me to intrroduce those of us here from Cantrros and the surrounding system. I am CEO of SolCorrp, a conglomerrate of companies with interrests in rresponsibly mining and rrefining the naturral rresources available to us. The otherrs assembled..." she turned and gestured, briefly taking a sip from her glass.​

It took a few moments to introduce everyone in the room as they ranged from small companies to large conglomerates like her own. The businesses represented ranged from other mining interests to manufacturers and technological entities, each with the hope of bringing further prosperity to Cantros and its people through this endeavor.​

Muse Soundtrack: Halestorm "I Am The Fire"​

Breathing deeply, the woman allowed her gaze to shutter a moment as the shuttle completed it's landing procedures. Stylus still poised over her datapad, the document waiting for her to continue her notations. It was ever her practice since the formation of the First Order's government to complete the most in-depth research possible on the worlds that were coming into their sphere of influence and protection.​

Cantros Seven had been no different, of course, though her research had taken a turn into their military and security capabilities upon her recent appointment. Minister of Defense...her parents and siblings would have been so proud. Vidia paused a moment, an unexpected touch of emotion edging it's way into her chest and causing her breath to catch in her throat. She'd been so busy she'd almost forgotten their remembrance day.​

"Vidia?" the voice came from over her shoulder, soft so as not to disturb her too much should she be in the midst of a meditation. Her chief of staff had been with her since her days in the Resistance. They had fought side by side against the Ssi-Ruu, and Keren had seen her destroyed the day she'd lost her entire family. She'd accepted the position as Vidia's chief of staff after a long discussion about how much good they could do for the military, so many of whom they'd fought alongside during the occupation.​

"Sorry...I'm here, Keren. I just realized I almost forgot the memorial this year with how busy I've been. I'll have to remember to lay a flower for them today. Almost fitting we're here on such a day for the Cantrosians, really." she added after a moment, setting the stylus down and reaching up to ensure her chignon was in place. She rose from her seat to face the woman and managed a smile as she smoothed out her dress.​

"Did you check the itinerary? We'll be arriving at the summit alongside a contingent of our troops. The Cantrosian forces will be mostly scattered throughout the city, but concentrated around the official government building the summit will take place in." Keren replied with a frown, checking her own datapad before pressing a button to turn the screen off. "I don't like the threats, though. They're credible, and-"​

Vidia lifted a hand to cut her off even as she shook her head. "I know. I read the intelligence as well. Minister Vass will be there, a contingent of our own soldiers will be there, every member of our delegation has a security team, and neither you nor I are defenseless. If and when it comes down to it, we know what to do, Keren."​

​

The woman nodded and prepared to disembark, as Vidia did the same. She gathered up her datapads and tucked each neatly into the waiting leather attaché case. Nestled within were also a pair of short swords and a number of tactical knives. Her expertise in the Resistance had been hand to hand combat, and while her style wasn't pretty, it was borne out of necessity and wickedly effective.​

It did not take long to disembark from the shuttle and enter the vehicle that would take them to the summit. Vidia took the time on the ride to converse with their escort, a tall male Cantrosian military officer who wore the insignia of the army. It was particularly animated as they discussed the different styles and materials of knives they each preferred after she commented on the ceremonial piece on his belt. It was a breath of fresh air and Keren, for her part, simply sighed and shook her head.​

Smiling, Vidia and her 'entourage' stepped out of the vehicle and greeted Zakar as he also arrived, hand outstretched for a proper handshake. "Minister Vass, a delight to see you this afternoon. Shall we go in? I believe the proceedings are beginning as we speak."​

Respectable. That was a new word for both the Lechner brothers. They were fighters not diplomats or those given to fancy clothing, yet they were both sporting armor that had been crafted for two men that carried responsibility beyond what either of them had been raised to carry. The lupine lowered the hood which was attached to the cape, his helmet clipped to the belt that carried his lightsaber. For now it was not needed, but the wolf had been in far too many situations where he knew that it was useful to have at the ready.

Everything seemed peaceful, but Gerwald could feel the tension in the air. Even as his brother beckoned him closer for a more familial greeting, the edge of concern was in his voice. Both Lechner’s could smell the danger on the air. It was instinct, one that would make their wolves restless for a time.

That did not stop Gerwald from moving close to his brother. They were of a similar height, though Gerwald had the larger frame of the two. It did not mean Varcik was any less capable than his younger brother. On the contrary it had been Varick who first placed a stick in Gerwald’s hand and called it a sword. The two knew each other’s fighting style inside and out. Gerwald knew where Varick liked to leave himself open, and he knew where Gerwald would pull his attack rather than commit.

A loud clap was heard as the two brothers embraced. Varick’s smile was returned with one of his own. Gerwald said nothing as the words he had longed to hear from at least one of his siblings landed on his ears. A small tear rolled from Gerwald’s eyes as his forehead rest against his brothers. They were wolves after all, and family. Such affection was not uncommon.

“It is good to see you. Though we will see how well I suit the title. I did not come by it easily.”

For a brief moment, Gerwald allowed the memories of pain and loss to enter his brother’s mind. Whatever rumors Varick may have heard were partially true, but he wanted Varick to see the rest. Before anything began, there was one matter they needed to come to an understanding on.

“Alwine… you have heard? She is wanted for the attempted murder of a viceroy and the wife of another. It seems she is still a sore loser.”

Gerwald did not want to sour their reunion, but it needed to be said. With it out of the way the two could perhaps carry on.

Shalita’s icy blue eyes shifted around the room as her gaze lightly touched upon each face that had decided to attend the summit. Her face was ever the emotionless appearance that it took on whenever she was on task and yet as her gaze settled upon the blonde that stood beside her, she felt a warmth deep within her chest and she lightly took the flute filled with wine, from the woman. Although, when she did so, her pale fingers lightly brushed against bare skin of the woman’s hand. Her gaze softened just slightly and she felt a soft tug at the corners of her lips threaten to give away her usually emotionless expression. The woman worried that her appearance beside Fevris would make the other a target again, especially considering that the assassin had ulterior motives for attending the summit. It made her reluctant to go through her usual tasks with the woman being here, but she knew that she would have to push through such thoughts and continue on with the task at hand.

However, she just wanted to slide her fingers through the other woman’s locks and never let her leave her side. The only problem with that, was they were of two different factions who met through pure chance and with the help of amnesia, had the time to develop feelings for each other. Feelings that were still all so new to the woman who was used to the cold embrace of the shadows. Even now, the assassin still wondered about whether or not the good doctor would eventually get sick of her nefarious ways when dealing with others, but such thoughts were for another time and another place. The thought of a doctor being with an assassin, was somewhat humorous in its own way, regardless of the circumstances.

The assassin knew that it would be hard for anyone to discern her true purpose at the summit. No one within CIS had known of her true purpose within its own ranks, that was until of her newly appointed rank. A Minister of Secrets. If that didn’t speak volumes in and of itself she would be very surprised at the lack of intelligence that an individual would possess. So, the woman wore a no-show watch, one that was hidden under the sleeve of the suit that she wore. It would make the tasks she planned on seeing through, much more easier for herself. At least for the moment as she addressed the woman by her side while the chairwoman of the business board introduced the companies attending. ”There are many other things that I would enjoy much more with you, than being here.” The woman said before she leaned in close so then her lips would lightly brush against Fevris’s earlobe and with soft tones only Fevris could hear, she began to explain in great detail, of her intentions for when they were alone later that night.

When she was finished, she lightly placed her lips upon the woman’s slender neck and pulled away, so then her gaze could return to the crowd, while a mischievous glint within them reflected a story that only the two of them would know the reasoning behind. Tonight, Shalita couldn’t be the cold and distant woman that she usually was and it helped greatly, to have the single person who could melt away her icy exterior, right by her side. Slowly she exhaled while her gaze fell upon a target; a Cantrosian who appeared to be a businessman, whose business was that of Starfighters. More specifically, their creation. The brief she had read had covered certain individuals, plus the technologies that they were responsible for and that man had been on the brief. Slowly, her gaze shifted away from the man for a moment while her head angled slightly towards Fevris. This movement only caused her short, black hair, tipped with white to brush against her shoulder.

That was until her gaze shifted to fall upon John Locke. An Exarch within CIS and a hand lightly pressed against Fevris’s lower back as she guided the blonde towards the man who stood beside a woman who had only just moments ago, nodded at them. ”While I’m sure that there are many people that you would enjoy talking to, there is another that I’m sure you could greatly benefit from meeting.” The woman said to the doctor in order to quell any protests that she might have about the sudden change in direction.

Upon approach, Shalita nodded her head just a fraction towards Ryssa and offered a smile just as they stopped before John. ”Fevris, meet John Locke. An Exarch and engineer within CIS. She introduced with a small nod of her head and continued on. ”John, this is Chief Medical Officer of the First Imperial Medical Services, Fevris Derzelas.” With that, her gaze focused upon the blonde woman she had just introduced, while she drew upon the force to reach out towards John to establish a telepathic link. ”And I myself, am Shalita Verd. Newly appointed Minister of Secrets.”​

As everyone else schmoozed, Rusty set to work. First there was the table. Next came the projector. A slideshow extolling the virtues of Oxidation Industries hovered above it, spewing out the usual corporate babble about investment opportunities, profit margins, share prices, whatever. The Shard was physically incapable of giving a shit about all of that, seeing as how he lacked a proper digestive system. Even if he was blessed with the gift of the organic sphincter, he still wouldn't have been able to muster up the manure, because all of that was designed by people who though the height of a career was a corner office with a view, for people who longed for said corner office.

His real presentation piece was a complex system of tubes and valves, hooked up to a largish air tank and a cylindrical bell. The device had rudimentary sights, along the lines of a typical grenade launcher, clearly meant for indirect fire. If front of the strange piece of kit were several glass jars, each of which was filled with a variety of angry insects, except for the one that was filled with arachnids. There were bees, wasps, flying ants, hornets, and of course, the spiders. But not just any spiders. Each one was only about the size of a quarter, but was brightly colored, and more importantly, possessed a pair of sturdy wings. These were alchemical flying spiders. As a small plaque in front of their jar read, they were capable of flight, extremely aggressive, and had nasty bite. Their venom caused paralysis and intense pain, followed by irreversible, and eventually fatal priapism.

Rusty knew his audience. He knew what people wanted of him. The people wanted the wild, the ridiculous. They wanted Jars of Bees, and occasionally, Exploding Boner Spiders. He was more than happy to deliver.

Location: Corporate Summit, Cantros.

It was a natural gift as well as a carefully trained skill the one Fevris Derzelas had that allowed her to keep her aloof and collected composure even in the face of terrible circumstances. Of course, it could also come in handy in a number of other occurrences that were quite the opposite from terrible, and as Shalita leaned in to whisper in her ear it took no small amount of effort to only let a knowing smile stretch her lips and a bright, amused sparkle reach the sapphire blue eyes.

Most would have expected the doctor to not be one for public displays of affection, an assumption she thought was justified given her more distant nature, but in truth the CMO quite enjoyed the closeness of her significant other. Her free hand then moved towards the assassin's own, lacing their fingers together, "You are a terrible distraction, Shal. And I don't mind it one bit." Fevris then raised Shalita's hand to her lips to place a swift kiss on it before allowing them to fall back to their side before resuming the task of searching the crowd for faces of interest and listening to the summit's host introduction of those present.

She took the last sip from the contents of her flute before returning it to a tray held by one of the night's servers, offering a nod and a polite thank you. It was then that Shalita's voice caught her ear, and the doctor once again shifted her focus to grant the beautiful woman her undivided attention. A brow was slightly raised in curiosity, trusting the guidance of the Confederate without protest. It did not take long to notice where, and towards whom, they were headed. Fevris had done her fair share of studying too before attending the summit, it was never wise to make business with unknown parties, but John Locke was certainly among those who did not require her looking into. His position and reputation preceded him.

"Exarch Locke, it is a pleasure to meet you," Locke and Key Mechanics had been an inspiration to her, and she was sure this must have been true for several businessowners, developers, and engineers across the galaxy. NoxaCorp had grown immensely since its creation, but it was still at its dawn. Then Fevris turned her gaze towards the woman who stood by the Exarch, another face that was familiar to her. Ryssa Yvarro, head of Primo Victorian Shipwrights and cousin to the Grand Moff whom Fevris had worked closely with in the past. "And Ms. Yvarro, I'm honored to make your acquaintance as well."

HURRICANE​

He still bore the scars.

His physical body was completely healed, yet the mental wounds remained - engraved in his soul - deep and red and everlasting. More ghosts to haunt him for eternity.

As the yacht had touched down at Voltura Estate, his heart was filled with the weight of the Galaxy that Dimitri walked down the ramp and into the crisp Lake Country air on Naboo.

Dimitri knew she was still here. He could still sense her presence, which was the smallest of reliefs. He had left for Bastion with a rift between him and Eenia. She had been his salvation in the heat of battle, but that did not at all mean that all was healed. And now he had come back with another assignment in tow.

With a sigh, he entered the manor, ignoring the venomous thoughts the deceased Darth Anguis still injected into his mind.
"She's with Savante in the garden, my lord." came Raul's unprompted direction. The aide had been with him for a very long time. He knew his master's thoughts well enough.
"Thank you, Raul. We'll be leaving for Cantros within the hour. If you would be so kind as to ready everything for the journey." Dimitri requested before heading outside.

He found her spending time with his Charhound. He regarded the pair for only a few minutes before approaching them. Savante turned and greeted him instantly, but Dimitri's eyes were on Eenia as his hands rubbed over Savante's sides.
"Eenia..." he began softly, before letting out a sigh and straightening up from petting his hound. He had little time to go into a discussion now, however much he wished to. "The Knights Obsidian requested my presence on Cantros for extra security at the festivities. Care to join me? We can talk on the journey there." he said, his words almost clipped. Guilt just kept piling on, even after almost a millennium of life.

He was exhausted from the burden

It was quiet on the ship as it moved into hyperspace towards Cantros. In the lounge, Dimitri finally looked over at his Apprentice, his dark eyes troubled.
"I have not been able to thank you, yet, for your aid in battle. I...did not expect it at all after your letter." he told her softly. He could still feel her disdain at him for leaving her behind while he went to fight in a war that was not theirs.
