The Mandalorian continued his charge, his relentless progress unbroken by her shots as he bore down on her with the weight of beskar and fury. Nevertheless, faced with an armed, armored Mandalorian juggernaut rapidly closing the distance, SL-0182 did not relent or give any outward indicator of panic.

Her left arm snapped up, a sharp crack sounding out as a repulsorlift discharge from her forearm-mounted repulsorlift projector sent a shockwave of compressed air in the path of the hammer strike aimed at her SMG, potentially disrupting its trajectory. At the same time, the Asset swiftly sidestepped to her left to avoid being run over by the Mandalorian. Then, in the hopes of catching him while he recovered from the blast, her left arm lashed out in a blinding thrust, a vibroblade springing free from her forearm sheath in the process.

The blade rushed in a straight line toward Gel's left side, aimed to impale him through the ribcage. Like her slugs, the blade was nanocoated in ultrachrome, giving it a very high probability of passing through projected energy barriers via energetic reflection. Should it connect, the laser sheath surrounding the blade would threaten to superheat the material directly ahead of it, potentially allowing the monomolecular edge to easily slice through pre-weakened molecular bonds while the ultrasonic vibration generator ripped them apart!

If the assassin thought she had taken Gel by surprise, she was sorely mistaken. The blast of compressed air she fired at Akalenedat did little to slow its trajectory on account of how heavy the weapon was, and Gel was easily able to continue the strike toward the Sith Assassin. Considerably more effective was her sidestep to the left, causing Gel to miss his mark. Her vibroblade, meanwhile, found its target, and it easily pierced the first layer of Gel's Mandalorian Jazerant, though by the time it hit the fourth layer of his armor, the Beskar Chainmail layer, it had lost enough energy to stop it dead, preventing the weapon from reaching any further passed Gel's armor.

With the threat against him stopped for just the briefest of moments, Gel had little time to react. Using the momentum of his missed strike, Gel brought Akalenedat back toward the Sith assassin, aiming to now hit her with the hammerhead side of the weapon and potentially knock her down at his feet. At the same time, he deactivated his Variable Plasma Shield Gauntlet and went to grab at the assassin with his free hand, trying to grapple with her to prevent her from moving away from him again. Click the heels of his boots together, Gel produced his own vibroblade from his Mandalorian Vibroboots, the weapon sprining out from the toe of his boot.

This now left the assassin with a choice: get into grappling distance with Gel, and risk getting cut apart by his boot mounted vibroblade, or try and break away from him and risk getting knocked back from the shockwave created by Akalenedat. Personally, Gel would prefer the latter, since that would give him time to grab his dropped shield and run away, but if the assassin was looking for a extended fight, Gel would be more than willing to give her one!

KJARTAN HAMMER-HAND

The massive weapon struck the rusted walkway between them. For a heartbeat Seris simply stared. He'd...He'd disarmed her. Something hot twisted in her chest. Not pain. Not fear. Frustration. Pure, blazing frustration.

Before she could react further, armored iron smashed into her face. Kjartan's helmet connected squarely with the bridge of her nose and brow. Stars erupted across her vision. She staggered backward, blood immediately running warm over her upper lip as she caught herself with a stumbling step. "...Ha..." Another. "...Haha..."

The second crimson blade ignited before her fingers fully closed around it. Now. Now things made sense again. Her feet shifted instinctively until she stood almost directly over Kjartan's fallen hammer. Mine. She wasn't giving it back. Not yet. Not after all this.

The reality of the situation was, there was no giving back anything to the Hammer-Hand. He took his hammer back from the schutta, in true Mandalorian fashion. As she staggered backward, Kjartan’s free hand gripped the haft of his lost weapon - scooping it up with a deftness only one accustomed to such a weapon could marshall. His eyes appraised the weapon in his hand for a moment, seeing that it was still very much the relic she had taken aboard the Spirit Breaker.

Yet, he only had a moment to do so. The storm erupted again - pure rage personified crashing against him with the fury of wave, after wave, after wave from a great storm. As she threw herself at him, it would become clear that the hammer within his grasp was tailor-made for the man who wielded it. His remaining bicep bulged as he moved - as though it were little more than a bludgeon or baton in his hand. Rather than clashing it against her blade as though a sword upon sword, he used its massive head to glance and redirect her furious attacks, while his sword set about riposting and countering.

His sword brothers set about her flank, yet it did not take long to realize that she cared not for the injuries they visited upon her. As he did upon the ship, he had drawn blood - and she was hell-bent on visiting the same upon him. The ferocity of her attack began wearing down his guard, with the edge of one of her blades scratching across his helm - sending sparks flying as it etched a scorch across the front. Another jab crashed against the ribcage of his breastplate, causing the tip to glance to the side only by virtue of the beskar’gam make of the armor. Yet, the Hammer-Hand was entering a rhythm with each of her strikes, gaining the measure of the chaos that was unleashing itself upon his form.

Her two blades crashed in a V-strike to his midsection, to which he responded by bringing his beskad into a perpendicular guard - the two beams of light exploding violently upon his metal blade. Without wasting a moment - he shoved the top of his hammer into the gap of the two sabers and swung his hands wide - shoving through the bind and hopefully opening her guard. Undoubtedly, she would have expected him to replicate his usual retort - which would have been to either charge into her exposed midsection or launch a kick at her.

He charged toward her, but instead of committing at the last moment - he shifted to the side and vaulted across the canal. His sword brothers followed suit, with one of them firing a bolt and severing a rope holding something aloft. The rope snapped, loosing what appeared to be a very large net full of debris from the canal - careening downward into the gap that would have existed over the canal between Seris and the Mandalorians. The timing of the descent was almost perfect, so much so that if she had tried to follow them immediately as her instincts likely prodded her to do - she would have had a very hard time avoiding the net and its contents.

Her vibroblade skittered off beskar chainmail in a flash of sparks. Nevertheless, SL-0182 abruptly dropped low as the Mandalorian’s free hand shot out to reach her while his warhammer’s hammerhead swung towards her midsection. Her body moved with nigh-inhuman fluidity and reflexivity as the Ghost Link supercharged her awareness, freezing the world to a slow-moving tableau within her perception.

At the same time, SL-0182 registered the distinct, hissing extension of the vibroblade from the Mandalorian’s boot, cataloguing the potential threat without conscious thought.

Having lowered her center of gravity, the hammer’s arc passed over her head as she sank into a low crouch, its weight and associated momentum potentially carrying it wide of her frame in the process. From that crouched position, her right boot snapped upward in a sharp, piston-driven kick aimed for the exposed forearm of the Mandalorian’s free hand. The same arm which moments ago had held his shield, now deactivated and extended in a grapple attempt. The strike’s low angle would make it extremely difficult to track, the fluid and compact motion requiring no wind-up that might telegraph her intent.

Should her boot connect (or come close) with its intended mark, the integrated FAE/M-05 Kinetite Shockwave Strike Weapon would discharge on impact. With it would come a thunderous crack as a shockwave of kinetic overpressure erupted at point-blank range. The energy behind it was enough to buckle titanium and smash bone. At the least, the Asset expected that the rippling shockwave would arrest the Mandalorian’s forward momentum. And even with beskar’s legendary toughness, the kinetic transfer had a high chance of carrying through armor, potentially breaking his arm, numbing it, or forcing him to abandon the grapple attempt entirely!

Gel was REALLY starting to get annoyed at this Sith Assassin.

She was a wily one, that was for sure, and she had easily managed to dodge his hammer strike, which Gel wasn't particularly surprised about. What did surprise him was the kick she delivered aimed at his forearm, some kind of weapon protruding from her boot much like Gel had done moments earlier. He barely caught it in time, reactivating his Variable Plasma Shield Gauntlet just in time to intercept the blow, which struck his shield with so much force that the projectable plasma blinked in and out of existence a few times before settling back, though Gel couldn't help but notice that the magnetically stabilized plasma was looking alarmingly transparent. The impact has sent him staggering back a couple feet, and Gel didn't think his shield would survive another blow. He was really starting to run out of options.

At least he was, until his comms crackled to life within his battered helmet.

"Forgemaster Karn, we have arrived to evacuate you, what is your position?"

Gel could tell that a Mandalorian gunship had deployed nearby to pick him up, though it seemed that the area the ship had chosen was just large enough for it to land. Gel didn't think the ship would be able to reach him from where he was, meaning he would have to move to it if he wanted to escape.

Gel sighed to himself as he disengaged the assassin and took astep back. What he was about to do was risky, but he didn't have a choice. He aimed his Mandalorian Lanvarok toward the ground in front of him, and without hesitation, fired off a salvo of Morturian Energy Disks onto the ground toward the space between him and the assassin. The disks exploded with the force of a blaster shot, sending debris directly into the path of the assassin and a large amount of smoke drifting through the air. Gel ran in the direction of the gunship, picking up his Bev Shield on the way, ran right to where the ship had landed, and jumped on board. He didn’t even turn around to see what the gunship was shooting at as the Mandalorians on board helped him climb in, because in truth he already knew the answer. The gunship immediately took off, and Gel finally had a moment to catch his breath.

One thing was still clear to him though: no matter where he was, or how far he ran, the Sith would NEVER stop sending assassins after him, and Gel would have to live with that knowledge until the end of his days...
