"Entering airspace, five by five on signal strength. Commencing drop on target, secure the Vapor Shot. If finding more major feedback, go into Plan Beta, all else fails, Plan Charlie. Best of luck men."

The roar of the VTOL would flood the surrounding area as they went over the top of the crashed landing sight. The flash of lights from the VTOL blinded the area in red and green flashing lights. There was a loud BEEP noise before ropes came down and descended onto the hulls structure as three twelve man groups spread out towards different areas of the starship. Pulling out the thermite launchers, the TOTT-024, they proceeded to fire on different sections of the hull and destroy parts of the bio-organic hull. Once it was destroyed enough, each time entered through a different section of the starship.

"Hall cleared, moving." "Second Door, Cleared." "Keep Searching for Hostiles. Eliminate Any Survivors, No Witnesses."

A distinct loud BANG would occur from one of the members, an infected being dropped dead. They were not only trained, they were professional mercenaries. Moving through in unison much faster than most, they kept clearing out room after room. One of the little insects, handled by one Kylraya could see this all occurring and they were rapidly advancing towards the position of Atlas. Turning around the corner, they were making enough noise to wake the dead as another set of noises, BANG BANG, another infected killed as it signified company was nearby, twelve of them to be percise.

They would start to turn the corner and once Atlas was in view, along with the others in their squad, a Kinetic round was fired rather close to Atlas before a firefight commenced as they opened fire completely on the group.

"CONTACT! FOCUS FIRE, TEN AND TWELVE, BURN THEM OUT!"

In the back, two of them switched to the thermite launchers they had before and were preparing to use them in combat, the other ten holding into corners and from the edges of rooms. They would not be...awfully hard to kill, but their limbs if lost, they would just keep fighting. These were not ordinary soldiers...nor species that can generally be killed easier. It is like a mythic hell had been unleashed inside a ship already full of biological problems. Though...they did not know the Sand Panther and others were nearby from one Kylraya.

Serpentis Serpentis
Wherever she was, if still outside, the VTOL would be a rather bit of a surprise, along with the species heading into the starship. They did not seem like any species she had encountered from afar, their movements felt...very strange.

Regardless, the other two squads of twelve searched for the cure, moving towards it strides of efficiency. One of them was honestly getting close...compared to the loud number of gunfire shots being presented further into the downed starship.

While the marines were deciphering or deciding to shoot the pack's attempt at communication, their opponent revealed themselves early! More dead metal-wearing men, at first she did not know if they were friend or foe.

In the vent her head snapped up, and the swarm mother sensed what was coming only too late. The spider near Atlas skittered back on its legs in panic and warning, lunging forward toward an attacker to protect one of Atlas's marines. The creature was riddled with blaster holes before it could do anything. It lay on its back, legs kicking its last bit of life out on the floor. The spider's death buying a precious second for the marine.

At the severing of the creature's life, Kylraya was howling with rage and pain, sounding as any infected might! Slowly moving like the spiders, crawling along the shafts above. Talons extended down from one of the ventilation shafts, piercing into one of her new prey, then pulling him upward suddenly, and away from the others. There might be a final scream and a single shot before he was literally torn apart by the gnashing of claws and teeth above. Vengeance for the loss of one of her pack.

Skittering through the vents above them, she pulled herself along at a slick force speed, as a fast spider along its web. Up a level to avoid fire, then back down as she looked to come behind the rear of the attackers. This bio ship was a luxurious hunting ground for one such as her.

Two spiders ran along the hallway to distract attention, again she prowled above like the cat. Pouncing down upon two other Icarii-Anax at the rear, they didn't die immediately. Through the use of force strength, and claws, facts about their limbs were soon tested. Ferocious wild roars followed, the panther jumping upon one as it tried to run, pinning its already wounded opponent to the ground as they wrestled. A third coming to help was not attacked by anything large. Instead, a stream of insects crawled from the floor covering the Icarii-Anax in a truly fearsome sight, all the being could probably do was run or roll around covered in a horrid mass. #Get the flamer. The insect surge was not stopped there!

No reaction to his warning blast. Curious. Rhythmic tapping provoked a marine to raise their carbine again until Drake held up a close fist. He tilted his space helmet, discerning some sort of pattern. There were no records on Dayark of intelligent arachnids inhabiting Republic worlds. Drake wondered if it was a creature from the Kathol Rift.

"Sounds like tap code, but I don't recognize-"

Something exploded right next to Drake's head. Synthetic biofluid erupted from the wounded hull. More rounds impacted nearby and the spider lunged forward. He raised his service blaster too slowly but the strange emissary sailed past him and Captain Drake barely had time to process what resembled an intentional sacrifice.

"It's a trap!" he warned the others far too late, "Marines fall back!"

One of the marines was hit so Atlas started dragging his fallen trooper while returning fire. Despite their training, the small squad of Kathol marines would have been quickly overwhelmed and cut down if not for more spiders. He even glimpsed what resembled a local big cat. Time slowed down as the adrenaline coursed through him. Captain Drake organized a fighting retreat...into the chamber he'd been warned to avoid.

"Dank farrik!" Atlas cursed when whoever was on the bridge released more infected all around them.

Familiar hands grasped for his throat. To Drake's horror, the wounded marine was writhing mid-transformation. While not hurt badly the kinetic round had punctured their enviro-suit and exposed them to the airborne pathogen. Now he was struggling for his life with a comrade while the marines around him blasted at indiscriminating infected who would also be charging the alien ambushers.

"Detecting starfighter squadrons emerging from the flanks, and some forces coming for the rear of the fleet as well!" The sound of the corvette's point defense cannons firing off and attempting to shoot down the fighters that flew by could barely be heard aboard the bridge as orders and reports were shouted across the room. "We need fighters out there now! Get the squadron out and intercepting whatever is coming from the sides."

Alisteri himself was far from the most experienced or accomplished naval officer, but he knew how to silence disorder and had seen his fair share of ship battles from more than one angle. The sound of explosions and the subtle jolt of destroyed fighters impacting the hull did not go unnoticed however, even amidst the excitement. "Interception has already arrived sir, Fragile Dancer has arrived." More ships were always welcome but the communications officer wisely chose not to mention exactly what allegiance the reinforcements held. It was for the better that the masked Sith be ignorant of such things at the moment, lest the point defense cannons be targeting friend and foe alike.

"I still want our fighters in the fray, tighten the cannons' firing lines to make dedicated kill zones. The fighters can lure our enemies in or use them to pin them down." Such a strategy would limit the effectiveness of the cannons alone but with fighter support that gap would be bridged, it would also mean a diminished chance of friendly fire. "Bombers sighted at several entry points, all making their way towards the capital ship!"

The capital ship was their anchor in the Rift, their main source of communication both to the other fleets and back to the forces outside of the Rift itself. It was far too valuable to lose. "Clever bunch aren't they? Deploy the fighters and send them after those bombers, we can't let them disable that ship!"

"ARGHHH!!!" "NEW HOSTILES! FI-AHR-" "FALL BACK, FALL BACK!!!"

A bloodbath would not even describe the new horrifying creatures these battle hardened men had to face. Infected were coming in from all the noise, with one being pulled up and torn apart...but he did not seem to die. The one tried to fight, stab and claw at the other even when being mutilated...his arms came off, he was alive, his legs came off, he was alive...only when his head was hit hard enough or stabbed, did the soldier finally die but not without the ceiling suddenly being riddled by hundreds of kinetic rounds. These things...were not human, not the usual alien...scratch that, they did not seem from this Galaxy. The spiders did their job as they attracted fire but the ambush was set and they fell for it.

When the two was ambushed through the back, one set off the thermite rounds way to close, slamming directly into the floor and burning the entire bioorganic matter and the metal underneath into nothing within seconds. The screeching of their deaths came loudly as the panther got close...only to feel the end of the barrel of a rifle jammed directly into the mouth and set on full auto, firing till the insects swarmed the person and pinned him down with his face torn off and both his legs breaking off. With his lest desperate action, death near, he laid his left hand on a trigger nearby on his side...the Dex Satchel Charge. The explosion contained from it was immense, the whole level shook as half of the squad was already down! The remaining six was moving fast down the hallway, retracing their steps FAR away from this group.

"FALL BACK! THERMITE! THERMITE!!! THIS IS ALPHA, CODE NINE HOSTILES! REPEAT, CODE NINE HOSTILES! PLAN BETA! PLAN BETA!!!"

They had all switched towards their grenade launchers full of thermite, launching them behind them without the care of the world. They had to stop their advance at all costs! The hallway was lit up with an impressive degree of heat and energy, the ceilings and walls were caught with thermite as parts of the ship groaned wildly. They did not care if they broke the ship now, they were facing hostiles way above their current mission perimeters, it was now the act finding the vapor shot and getting out!

Atlas Drake Atlas Drake
As if the situation could not devolve any worse, the gunfight from the other squad was already being overwhelmed by unknown hostile forces, so was Beta and Charlie. The whole starship had been woken up! They had fought admirably but even they were starting to become overwhelmed quickly. Charlie entered directly into the bridge and gunfire was erupting as well inside as well...but not towards the other soldiers. Some...massive, huge infected burst through the bridge area and grabbed one of the marines, quickly hoisting him up before slamming him onto one of the others. Kinetic rounds were barely doing any damage towards it!

Grabbing a thermite launcher, one fired directly at the torso several times, screaming out before being punched rather hard. The marine was knocked back before slamming his fist down and crushing the poor soldier into near nothing. The other nine members of the squad started to run back, throwing two satchel charges on either side to get away from this massive monstrosity! Atlas Drake could see exactly where they were placed...right near one of the transparisteel windows and at least an exit to the outside world but also connected to several support beams! There was a loud set of beeping as the situation had become near unwinnable!

Mission: PAIN

Her panther's death cut her most deeply of all, pain radiated out from her chest and almost knocked her over. No time to cradle her dying pack. Instinct compelled her to give chase, ripping off chunks of the metal with her claws to throw…. but her many insects saw the detonator. Instead cradling herself behind the piece of hull and jumping backward, an explosion forced her further down the hallway. A huge pile of insects went up in the air, vaporized by the explosion to nothing.

Insects still surged after their foes, but into grenade fire, they were blown apart in a vast tide of fiery retribution. How many still came who could say, their numbers were vast, unending, and easily snuffed out. Together in this mass there were few more disgusting or frightening sights.

Crunched against the far wall, her legs extended like the spider, talons bracing to drop her against the hull, piercing into it. Mourning the loss of her connections, her pack wanted revenge. Laying back there was visible pain evident, a twisting of sorts along her body. Gasping, smoke rose off her singed Barab exoskeleton.

But.

Dead metal-wearing men, Atlas, were trapped and she knew so. She knew how important this cure was. The madness of the infected could not be allowed to contaminate life outside. Bloodied talons extending and retracting, extending and retracting. She hissed like a snake from the bottom of her stomach. Kylraya embodied her serpent, moving up the ventilation shafts once more.

"It's a trap!"

At Atlas's Room.

Chaos…. infected everywhere, gunfights, bombs, explosions. Now bloodied Talons, spiders and a snake dropped down. She moved like a possessed serpent coiling limbs around infected to upend them, or quick punctures to bite and end their existence, all the while her snake hissing in a bloody harmony with her. Her remaining large spider actually tried to leap at the same time to clear room for Atlas's squad to let them keep moving, if only to somehow get clear to cover.

Lunging herself headfirst at the biggest creature that had entered. She could do nothing to disarm their fiery explosives at its feet, but she could do this….. climbing up its chest with pincer-like Talons, staring directly into its eyes as she did so. "Leave…. Our….. World….." her hissing voice imposed over a chorus of quieter voices behind it, feeling strain to speak at all. Speaking to the virus and its disharmony! The collar she wore around her neck was a synthetic hive device, but its limitations over her growing individuality were clear.

Grabbed by a huge hand and thrown against the wall with another.... CRACK. Thankfully for her well clear of any potential explosion to come, but she was struggling to get back up, her pack dwindling by the minute.

NEW CAPITAL SHIP REVEALING

"Disengage Magnetic Field! Drop the Visual Cloak!"

Rather suddenly, an extremely large starship shimmered into view. Shields may be deactivated but it was still a menace, before them was a ship not seen since the Elysium Empire had crumbled around them. A Knight-class Carrier Command Battlecruiser had joined the frey, right behind the fleet itself as it started to open fire onto towards any starship nearby. While it seemed devastating, not all of its weapons seem to be firing. Was it crippled or running on a skeleton crew? Either way, it was a massive problem but seemed to be giving a holding pattern as its turbolasers and ion cannons rained upon one of the smaller capital ships in an attempt to outright destroy it!

All the while, to possibly the keen eyes of observers, while turbolaser fire seems to have virtually no effect on the battlecruiser...parts of its right side seemed opened up, as if it can be flown inside or exploited. Whether or not this can cause a difference was a mystery. All the while, the bombing squads had to disperse after losing so many of their number on the first run, only letting lose a singular torpedo that was absorbed by their shields. All the while the spots to ambush them seem to work as well, reducing the swarm down to a more manageable level...but they learned quickly and avoided it, the IEs seeminly having the most difficulty killing currently.

"Star Destroyer class ship in the rear! It's already knocked out a frigate!" Alisteri cursed under his breath at the news and silently thanked their luck for being among the most forward positions in the fleet. They still had plenty of fighters and bombers to worry about though. "Reorient and open up a barrage on that thing, every gun not shooting down a fighter needs to focus fire on bringing it down!"

The corvette made a sharp turn to bring the full might of its weapons to bear, the fighter squadron emerging from the ship's hangar quick to maneuver out of the way as it turned. "Open fire and charge up the Ion Cannon!" All at once the remaining, non point-defense, cannons loosed a salvo through the distance between the ships in an attempt to halt the incoming fire that was ravaging the unprepared rear ships. "That's odd...sir there appears to be an opening in the ship, and its weapons are irregular in their firing patterns. Something isn't right..."

Alisteri cared little for noting the odd strategy and performance, too focused on trying to find some way to exploit whatever weaknesses the ship held. "Get us closer and begin focusing fire on its weapons. Irregular or not they're too dangerous to be left alone and we can't breach that hull easily. Give them a salvo with the Ion Cannon to cover our approach."

Capital Ship: Knight-class Carrier Command Battlecruiser

The barrage came from both sides, there was much turbolaser and ion cannon fire directed towards the Knight-class but with each hit, it bounces off another hit. Whatever they threw at it, it was doing next to nothing towards the battlecruiser itself. When struck with the Ion Cannon, the starship seemed to shimmer for a brief moment before reverting back into visual view. Next to nothing was working, the ion cannons may seem to be doing some damage...until a missile struck the side of it.

All at once, a weakness exploited! The missile broke through a section of the capital ship...apparently the hull itself was not very well made against kinetic like weaponry! All the while, it turned and all weaponry halted from firing with a distinct glow started to form along the spine of the Battlecruiser. The glow intensified before a bright light erupted from the front and shot out towards one of the other frigates nearby, pummeling it with Pseudosonic Heavy Continuous Beam Cannon as it only lasted for a few seconds but if it destroyed it, it would go towards anything behind it and pummel it along with it!

When the charged cannon stopped, it would resume firing its weaponry but it had one very large stick to still be rather mean with!

Patience...patience is what the Sith would call weak, patience that a plan does not form, patience that things would not come. All the Sith he knew in this era, was impatient...and bickering in their little cults, their own small groups. Sometimes it takes a true...interesting manipulator to come stir things up. Watching on the bridge, he enjoyed what they considered a retro look...to him, it was quite new to him. The bridge design was fantastic, the people were completely out of viewing range and he can foreseen all actions in the last few weeks. He had known his actions would awaken those who had been fractured to come forth and deal with this...issue.

All the death on the planet, allowed him to focus on collecting souls. Nearby was a large chalice, the same kind of chalice found on the Nexus of Rebirth. Slowly the souls gathered and swirled into the chalice...far more than it has ever been able to fill in a long time. He was planning on a large ritual due to this, the cost of such rituals fitting for Emperors would take a long time to produce. But the plan...the plan was to not have the Emperor approve of it, but to finally have the audience he desired. Was it possibly treasonous? Yes...but so was the chance to finally pull all the strings together for what he had long been planning for. Nearby, a somewhat towered individual would be nearby as his hands were behind his back.

"Lord Reficite, the team is presented with some...problems. They assure they will retrieve the cure or destroy it as planned, the fight on Dolstan has become all the more dangerous due to Lord Luctus as planted and the ambush at the Kathol Rift has disrupted a fleets operations with the manipulation of that Mandalorian. Do these results...satisfy you?"

"Not completely...I been waiting for someone to arrive. All are welcome on the starship...I feel the souls of the planet leaving and growing ever more confident in our plan Mr. Saville. Has anyone contacted to board?"

"No my Lord, not a single person."

"Disappointing...none the less, if any do arrive...allow them on board and direct them to the bridge. If they become hostile...kill with all intent. They will either arrive...or watch this sector fall."

Ever more so slightly, was the fact that communications been purposely leaked on all the things he been up to...the people he has dealt with. It was entirely on purpose, he wanted to be found...though the idea someone may shoot the starship has also come to mind. Though so has the same conclusion of his power as of the moment. To tempt fate...was to tempt death.

The ship's holo projector sprang to life without the consent of the communications officer - a backend bypass intended to be used by the Dark Council specifically for the purpose of reminding the Lords of the Empire who they answered to. A blue shaking transparency sprung to life before the bridge only for the clarify who was calling - the Emperor. A corpse visage with metal eyes blown up many times the size of the man watched the bridge with a cold, equally dead stare.
" Lord Reficite Lord Reficite - Pitann remains untamed. Reports have returned to my Legate's that the planet stands as one of the leading causes of death's in the last three campaigns through the Outer Rim. Who am I to blame for this? Have you failed in your duty to see Pitann made docile?"
There was a latent pressure that formed on the bridge, the Emperor far away even then held enough power to press down on anyone nearby. Like a hand resting on the shoulder of every man and women gathered within - there was a threat with it, but that was simply how the Sith spoke to one another. To anyone who was not their friend.

The ships holoprojector had sprung to life, showing the image of the Emperor itself. The glass reflected the image coming in as slowly Darth Reficite turned slowly but was still rather surprised. How in the world did he have access to a mercenary ship, let alone one that has been screened several times over? Were they hacked? The visual of a corpse did not frighten him though to realize an image can be blown up that much, that did cause a bit of concern.

Though before the speech even began, one of the officers over communications tried to stand up to explain, only for him to be thrown with the Force into one of the nearby crevices on the bridge with a subtle gesture. That will be dealt with LATER. Listening to how the reports came in that Pitann has been leading as not only a cause of death but more so than other campaigns combined, made a small smile crack behind the helmet on the corner of his mouth but his stance would change to a kneeling position. He may been old, maybe old fashioned but he knew when an Emperor was to speak, you are to assume a stance.

"No my Emperor. A nerve agent has been released into the atmosphere...many have been sent down including here, members of the Icarii-Anax whom are immune to the nerve agents effects are attempting to retrieve the cure now. None seem to have...returned yet. The planet itself will become ruins soon from its own devices...though I have a solution. A ritual to either cleanse...or change the planet."

Leaning his head up slowly from looking down, he looked up at the projector. Yes, he still thought it was a tad ridiculous but he still had to go by the thumbed rule of just going along with it. If the Emperor had a nice projection, he could see the chalice in blue...the Nexus of Rebirth had one of similar size though this one was vastly different in terms of...well brightness. The thing was glowing in the projection, so much so that it was almost looking at a nearby sun...it must been full and obviously, taking from the planet far below. Though Reficite would not admit it...part of the plan was made on the spot from the starship being downed. It was however, not supposed to take this long for confirmation.

"If they are immune but have not returned, them something has gone gravely amiss.", he said with a grevious frown.
"A planetary ritual for a world with such industrial capacity - do you intend to risk a foundational forge world of our empire on the hope it might turn into something beneficial for yourself?", he asked again.
"Explain your plan, quickly. Leave nothing out. I have no qualms with sending the Mors Mons to punish the failing military on this world."

"It is greatly assumed as such Emperor."

"All I need is already acquired at the Nexus of Rebirth, I have no need for a crater of a world, much less turning it into something far less useful. This planet has already far gone its process from even close to ideal."

While most have their truths, some have sprinkles a lie hidden in there. What he wanted was already taken, souls. So much of it to be used in any manner he saw fit...and at this point, it will be suited for the goals he now have though he meant it when he never wanted a crater...though the use for the Sith Order is all they want.

"The two plans differ greatly though the end result is similar."

"The first is one I have done before, I can vaporize the atmosphere itself into an engulfment of flames. Granted...it will kill almost, if not all life on the planet that requires anything of oxygen and scorch the planet for at least a day before it reforms properly. Process takes roughly six hours of concentration and my own life force to achieve the goal. It will allow access to the materials necessary as you request Emperor but require more equipment to harvest along with of course...some rebuilding of infrastructure but the toxin will be erradicated."

"The second will keep essentially recycle what remains of the atmosphere though the toxin has to be moved. It will be forced into underground caverns, making any venture down there almost unhospitable and extremely dangerous to the mind altering nerve toxin. Meanwhile I will promote the planets own natural cycle of oxygen and nitrogen to rebuild the atmosphere more quickly. The process will take at least twelve hours, most likely much longer and will consume my life force to also achieve the goal. Strip mining would be the best option at this point for material gain and less equipment required...but the toxin will be an ever present threat, even if the cure is found."

"Those are the two plans Emperor, your Command?"

Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean

"Burn the world of life, or strip mine its carcass. You give me a choice between piss and shit.", he said with a great and terrible admonishment.
"Do you believe we have the population to reman those factories, or would you hope I pay the Khainites for robotic workers to replace them? If this is the best plans you can manage, then you are a fool - or you seek something in their deaths. Do not take me for a worm addled leper despite how I may look, Darth Reficite."
"Do what you will - but I give you three months. Three months to meet 80% of this planets production capacity after your plan - and if you fail in this, I will break your Nexus, and sick my dog upon you. Do what you will, but next time consider the consequences of a poor plan."
With that, his hologram zapped away - gone into the nothing ness that remained of the display. Slowly the bridge began to churn to life once more, many looking through long lines of internal communication protocals to figure out how the Emperor had done his parlor trick. Others more concerned with what was to come next.
