Technology Submission Modifications

Submission Name: The Vyperion Series Assassin Droid

Reason for Modification: Technically out of date with Alcastor being one of these who happened to break the chain of appearance and weapons
Modification: VyperTek Industries as the manufacturer, Yes to modularity, the intent changed to "To create a freely usable assassin droid for RP, NPC or otherwise" a description overhaul. Add this to the Modularity section too "Ranges from shock gauntlets and a jetpack all the way to a full rebuild."


NEW Description: The Vyperion Series was a droid series created for war, however the VyperTek Industries owners kept using them for personal gain, and leaving them on a planet each time one was made. The droid series was made to combat any threat sent towards them, be it lightsabers or light blaster fire. Due to Songsteel's rarity, the executives at VyperTek Industries try to keep at least one droid for themselves, this however, has failed every time they attempted to do so, this means they were bound to be destroyed and the makers would have to make a new body in the event of near total destruction and attempt to rebuild the body if there are still pieces left. The Series itself encompasses more than human droids due to the "brain in a new body" solution to destruction of the old body. Each Vyperion Droid has gone berserk at least once due to being destroyed, yet still remembering the faces of the people who caused the destruction of the body. The most unique looking and working droid in the series is Project Anima (AKA Alcastor G1), who went berserk on the VyperTek team when it was destroyed by a team of 6 Jedi Masters and then gained it's current body, his "berserk button" is more of a "Panic Button" however as he fears losing his body and brain at one time due to his creators' various allegiances. Appearances for the droids in the series can range from completely human looking to completely droid looking, hence Project Anima's appearance compared to the droid type. However, Project Anima wields different weapons from the original assassin droid, instead of flamethrowers, Anima has pretty much a droid's equal to weak shock gauntlets for example.

Modification: Place it under the New Order tag, as it now belongs to the New Order.

[SIZE=10.5pt]The Swarthy Bantha was just a standard TL-1800 bought from a junk dealer on Tantooine when Vaudin first acquired the vessel. The once brown or gold painted ship had sat and turned a pale yellow in the twin suns of the desert world and Vaudin was just free from a stint in jail for piracy, evading authorities, impersonating a public official and smuggling. Both Vaudin and the Tl-1800 were out of luck and in need of a new lease on life so it was only natural that the two should fall into each other’s company. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=10.5pt]With his meagre earnings from a job as a mechanic coupled with winnings from a local shooting competition Vaudin bought the ship and began working on rebuilding the ship. It took a full 3 years to get the ship in the prized condition it now enjoys. The standard forward facing Laser cannons were replaced with a turret and the proton torpedo launcher was converted to a Connor net launcher. The Hyperdrive was replaced with a slightly modern drive giving it a better speed and the precision accuracy that is common in the era now enjoyed. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=10.5pt]The standard Cargo capacity was lowered to make room for the extra equipment for the turrets, but the external cargo pods were kept which greatly increases the capacity the tough freighter can carry. Vaudin also added small lounge area with a dejarik table. Passenger capacity remained the same and was able to house 7 persons plus a crew of 3. The ship also boasts a maintenance droid bay with two astromechs, a medical station, and several smuggling compartments. The hot tub was not able to fit.

Reason for Modification: Didn't know much about 'standard' artillery ranges when originally submitting the tech.

Increase maximum range to 8,000 meters (5 miles).


(For reference, modern artillery fires at about a maximum range of 30 miles. And there are now 'grenade launchers' that fire farther than this thing does...)

This can go ahead now. The dispute over the Obscurity's ownership was settled in this thread, where although the Fringe decimated the craft, it was rebuilt in New Order space and is now under the New Order's ownership, all in the same thread.

I'm sorry, but I cannot accept that thread as evidence of the ship being successfully rebuilt, and here's why.

The Obscurity took an amount of damage easily enough to break apart a full-sized Star Destroyer. Hundreds of torpedo strikes would be enough to slag just about any ship on the board, and it would have taken at least a handful of them without the shields as it was cloaked while being struck by the initial volley. There's is next to no chance for it to be repaired in its current state. Such damage would be enough to warp the very frame of the ship. It would take a lot more than five posts to repair that. In truth, it would be easier and faster to sell off the remains as scrap and pay for a brand new ship to be built

I'm sorry, but the Obscurity is basically good for one thing right now; its cloak could be salvaged. The rest of it would be too broken and battered to use without a major risk for a structural beam snapping in two during combat. If you'd like to make a new ship with the cloak, you won't need a dev thread for the cloak. But I'd like to see a separate thread doing a more extensive coverage of this whole event beyond a "My ship is bring repaired. It is repaired." Maybe even cover how the ship was stolen from Fringe docks and taken across the galaxy without anyone finding out before it was over Morellia.

Reason for Modification: Kaine leaving the New Order, and thus I require that this armor I created for my personal soldiers have it's affiliation changed.
Modification: Change the affiliation from New Order to the 'Empire of Panatha'. However; if that cannot be done due to the Empire of Panatha being a minor faction or something like that, then just change it to independent.

Folded and hardened besker with interlocking connections of molytex and quantum fibers across the surface to aid it repair and maintaining the armor when outside of the Yaim'la.
Repair times:
Blaster:
  • Energy: Repair time for minor damage is 4 hours, repair time for major damage 8 hours, suit won't start repairing while in combat
  • Slug: Very strong against slug ammunition repairing fast on the surface but fire can reach breachable undersuit or vital area's. Repair time of 2 hours
  • Ion: 20 minutes repair time but strong enough weapons can cause significant impact trauma from force of ions striking target
  • Sonic: Near immunity along surface but sonic impact can transfer force to organs and Allison inside.
  • Disruptor: Using a high enough concentration and grade weapon disruption of plates can take 12 hours to repair

Lightsaber:
  • Slashing: Gashes from strikes and cleaves of a lightsaber once the blade is moved away will begin repairing and finish in 6 hours
  • Piercing: A long sustained stab that can get down into the plates can take up to 48 hours to repair
  • Contact: Contact burns used by jedi and sith to disarm and immobilize repair within 1 hour

Other:
  • Shatterpoint: From a master of the force will shatter the thick plates
  • Blunt force: No repair time, force is still transferred into the body when struck or hit.
  • Crushing: From a telekinetic master such as Siobhan 24 hours
