STANDARD FEATURES
  • Primary drive systems are a mix of several FIE-1 engines backing a pair of FIE-2 engines. These drives are some of the most powerful and efficient on the market allowing for second to none speed capabilities and power to weight ratios for the craft. This makes the ship handle almost like a large high performance star fighter, more than a proper corvette or frigate.
  • Internal systems include a Luft Class Life Support System for internal atmospheric management. Allows for the ship to manage on the fly for different species and adjusting atmospheres to better accommodate passengers, cargo, and crew to keep them as comfortable as possible and working in optimum conditions.
  • All internal housing needs for the crew and passengers of the vessel (of which it accommodates 7), such as beds, tables, chairs, and an entire kitchenette are all collapsible and hideaway in the walls/floors. This amount of modularity for the accommodations allows for the ship to flex between carrying more cargo or people, as it allows for the base crew to pack it to the gills so to speak with either.
  • Internal fire suppression system is fully automated and utilizes both standard chemical foams, water, and also can depressurize sections of the ship to extinguish fires.
  • Hull construction uses a hybrid honeycomb outer structure, paired with an internal standard hull design. Internal hull's open structure allows for more space and ease of modification while the outer hull's construction offers rigidity and strength to handle the strain of the engines. Also increases the durability of the vessel as hull breaches can be more easily contained in the honeycomb sections, allowing for less atmosphere to be lost in the case of combat.
  • Communications array is a Wind Talker Class Communications Array, capable of full spectrum communications from QED, holonet, tight beam laser, to short and long wave radio transmissions. This allows the ship to interface securely with most communications systems and transmit both long and short range messages to all types of recipients. And with some of the more secure options the enemy won't be able to detect the transmissions without some exceptionally powerful systems on board, let alone decrypt them.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Weapons on the ship provide a wide variety of offensive options to deal with threats, such as Deimos Laser Cannons, MLMS Launchers, and finally several Artemis Light Turbolasers. This gives the ship the ability to tangle with starfighters, enemy munitions, and even other smaller capital ships solo, but also work with a group of other small vessels to take on bigger targets. And while she is a knife fighter, the missiles give her the ability to strike at range against multiple targets at once.
  • Svalinn Shield Generator offers a wide range of protection to the ship, backed by her hull consisting of Phrik-A, FM-001 and FM-002 giving her a robust construction. This gives the ship a solid base of protection, however to focus on speed these defenses are rather light in scope. So she can take a few hits, but her true defensive capabilities lie in her ability to go fast. Really, really, really fast.
  • Targeting systems on the ship are synced up to the Hawkeye Targeting / Fire Control System giving the weapons some of the best tracking and gunnery software on the market. This system uses full spectrum analysis of targets to generate profiles for turrets and missiles, plotting launch arcs and pre-determined engagement zones for missiles, alongside giving weapons some of the most accurate fires capabilities even without most normal target locks. This system also generates lead for turbolaser and laser cannons, making gunnery relatively simple as putting the reticule in the circle and pulling the trigger. Finally these weapons can either be automated or crewed by up to five individuals in remote weapons stations.
  • Comes with a standard drop pod (pictured below) that's capable of controlled flight from the surface of planets, planetoids, asteroids, etc with thrusters, and back allowing for the ship to deploy a dedicated ground force while staying in orbit. This allows for the ship to safely embark or disembark personnel as needed to hostile environments (radioactive hot zones, active volcanic planets, jungle worlds, planets with political protests and subsequent crackdowns), while keeping the rest of the ship minimally exposed.

  • Ship has a silent running mode that makes its sensor signature go down from the size of a corvette to that of a piece of space junk the size of an astromech. While not being as powerful as stealth fields powered by stygium crystal technology, this tech allows for the ship to seemingly disappear from all but the most powerful sensor arrays. In this mode the ship will cut the engines, relying on momentum and gravity to carry it on a preset trajectory or orbit. It will also reduce its electronic and emission signature to absolutely zero, and only make minor course corrections via microjets that release pressurized gas. This method of running the vessel has a limited time as the ship can't vent heat like it normally does, but it can go for a day maximum.
STRENGTHS
  • Stealth system is top of the line: This ship's stealth system doesn't follow typical Stygium stealth technology standards of just masking the entire ship's presence and covering it all up. It's actually better because rather than creating a void that while standard sensors can't automatically track, experienced sensor officers can, this makes it even harder because the ship will actually mimic the surrounding radiation from open space. This makes it excessively difficult to track on sensors, especially considering that its sensor profile will also be reduced to that of common space debris making it extremely hard to detect outside of visual range.
  • Excellent thrust to weight ratio: This ship has an engine and maneuvering suite designed for performance, especially under pressure. To put it simply, there is very little that can keep up with this ship, or turn as hard as she can at speed. Which makes keeping up with the ship a difficult task for even expert pilots with lots of experience.
  • Well rounded armament: This ship also has an excellent selection of weapons to choose from to give it plenty of offensive options and defensive options in a fight. The Artemis Turbolasers while light give it a little bit more punch in close in fights with other capital ships, Deimos laser cannons are excellent at point defense and star fighter engagements, the MLMS Zeus launchers are excellent to provide both offensive and defensive capabilities in any fight.
WEAKNESSES
  • Don't look out a window: This ship's stealth system works in all aspects except for one. It doesn't visually hide the ship like Stygium stealth crystal technology. So while the ship is able to almost hide perfectly from most normal sensor suites on ships, if you are able to see it through a window or know exactly where to look, you can see the ship.
  • Nancy no armor: This ship was designed for mobility, speed and being able to shoot a lot. That doesn't leave much in the way of armor for a ship of her class. With ships of this class being susceptible to larger capital weapons fire anyways, they leaned into this part of the design more. So while it can take a couple hits, repeated shots from even light capital grade weapons will do exceptional damage in a short amount of time. Long story short, don't rely on armor to tank hits. You'll be severely disappointed.
  • Automation is a double edged sword: This ship is able to be helmed by a single person. While this allows the ship to require very few person aboard to use it to its full abilities, this sacrifices some very key capabilities compared to normal vessels. Gunnery is slaved to a single station normally, making engaging multiple targets a hassle, and the ship is designed to work with a skeleton crew. That means if a system goes down, there is a very high chance there isn't a backup operator on board, nor that the backup system will operate to capacity without someone well trained or versed in the system. This makes any damage taken by the ship especially hurt more because with the lack of armor there is little to stop crew loss outside of the shielding. And space is a cold and unforgiving expanse.
DESCRIPTION
Originally designed as a stealth corvette for special forces operations, the Sköll would mysteriously disappear at the time of the Surric System Exodus. Many of the engineers had thought that ship was brought along with the Exodus fleet, however the ship was commandeered by members of the "Surric First" movement within Surric's military. Initially they used the ship as a recon vessel and gun runner to various criminal organizations, before the ship started to exchange hands in the underground. This would see the ship's original crew needs lowered as clients became less and less able to field full crews (either due to trust or manpower issues), but had the credits to spare to modify the vessel. Thus the ship was outfitted with some of the best automation and droid tech money could buy, lowering the minimal crew down to a single person, but able to field a variety of weapons and stations if the situation called for it. It is unknown even by the ship's logs how it came to the possession of one Saer Lorian Saer Lorian , but it can be assumed that the prior owners either parted willingly or didn't need it anymore. The ship is able to operate as a home away from home, able to go into stealth mode as it orbits celestial bodies while using a drop ship as an away team vessel. This allows the ship to be completely and totally safe while the dropship is the only vessel exposed when away. Otherwise it has all the amenities of home, full living quarters with all the amenities, collapsible furniture to host visitors/passengers/captives, along with a small cargo bay that is accessible from the main deck. The overall aesthetic when the ship was originally constructed was quite spartan, but over the years the ship has had many marks left by previous owners. Some are more metaphorical than others, such as the air system being tuned to be exceptionally precise to the point if one wishes to introduce toxins, airborne drugs, or other gases into the airborne mix it can be done ship wide. Others are quite literal, such as the hole in the head rest of the captain's chair where one of the previous owners was "removed" as captain of the ship. Or in his case, the captain's head was removed from his body, thereby making him no longer captain. Regardless of the ship's marked and shrouded history, the vessel certainly lives up to the manufacturers' reputation. The ship is sturdy, durable, but also a quality piece that can perform under pressure. And if a pilot really wants to get a thrill, imagine accelerating to speed, turning on the stealth mode, and jetting through an asteroid field using only maneuvering jets as the ship literally weaves through debris with the grace of a twilek dancer. She's fast, and in the right hands she is a deadly opponent. And those who have underestimated this vessel, have paid for it dearly. For it is the wolf that hides in shadow chasing the stars themselves.
