SJO Dom of Surron Hex: Run away with the Circus

Wu looked at the scene.. Akari practically charging into the stall to get the treats and there was only one thing that came to mind..... "I've created a monster.... a sweet loving.... force leaping monster." She said it under her breath, prepared for anything that might be coming but stood next to Sukai who was holding her and Wu looked at her... smaller but hands on her hips before she spoke. "Worry not padawan we shall get you all that you can eat and then some more just to make sure you experience a binge." Wu wasn't upset though but she was offering the credits for plenty of sweets that they could all get. Wu held one of the apples for her and smiled. "COme on padawan let us enjoy some food."

"Here issa yoursa popcorn bag" he told Saeria while handing her a small bag of popcorn that was appropriate for her diminutive frame.

It wasn't the first time Saeria was buying candy from Ugohr. While there were four bag sizes, small, medium and large that were for one person, and a family-size bucket, he was led to think that perhaps a bag size larger than small would be too big for a child that size. But that was the calm before the storm, which came under the form of another person that leapt forward in an attempt to get the last few caramel apples and later restrained by a collar. Possibly a slave, or maybe one of those troubled kids whose collar is actually court-ordered (usually as a result of a previous crime). That particular kid's babysitter came forward and asked for "all [the kid] can eat" which was far from limited to caramel apples. Other carnival sweets typically included cotton candy and Wu's order was no exception. Itsa seem dat, for now, guests wanted sweets first, but theysa shy away from ice cream, or Skor cakes, the Gungan thought, while he was busy collecting the bucket list of sweets for Wu, and also suspecting that Wu had more than one kid to watch over. Once he was finished collecting all the sweets Wu requested, placed on a tray...

It seemed the stand the trio made their way to was rather popular, another Jedi group having ordered what seemed to be popcorn from the gungan owner. She gave a short nod to the women as she acquired her own delights, but not without having to cover Akari's eyes so the little grmlin wouldn't bother more people then she already was, not that Wu helped in the manner. "A monster, yes quite, and if she ever gets a taste of 'you know what' I can assure you people are going to find holes in there necks very quickly". Thankfully being a vampire the passage of time seemed to go quickly, in no time the little candy muncher would be old enough to be taught a thing or too and keep her sweet tooth under control. Until then though, her and Tana would need to keep a close eye on the girl.

Reluctantly at Wu's request she dropped her younger sister, following the Jedi master up to the stall as she requested sweets for the lot of them. Both watched on as the Gungan filled a tray to the brim with different kinds of confectionery, Akari's eye lighting up with joy from the shear amount. To her child like mind such a mountain of candy was beyond comprehension, were did they get it from? who did they get it from and most importantly were could she find the fountain that gave out this sweet gold. "Well I can certainly say even sis has her work cut out, that is certainly a lot of candy", must have cost a small fortune.

Celeste observed as Kat and Rose spoke to each other. The former seemed to be filled with dread at the idea of children, and the latter was quite enthusiastic. A smile appeared on the healer's lips and would remain there. However, she did loft a brow when Kat offered her an apology, which she waved away.

“Oh,” Her grin broadened, “It's quite understandable. And I do appreciate the help, younglings can be a handful.”

As Kat went to join her sister, Celeste turned to Atticus. “Having fun?” She asked, kneeling as he held out the rubber duck he had just won. “Wow, that's very nice, isn't it?” The young boy promptly gave the duck a hug and then placed it in his pocket for safe keeping.

Rising again, she placed her hands on her hips. For the moment, everyone seemed to be in good spirits. She had to admit, it was nice to get the younglings out for a field trip. Celeste was aware that they often felt excluded when the Padawans got to leave for missions with Knights and Masters.

“Alright, everyone!” She called. “Why don't we grab some snacks and then make our way to the circus tent?”

It seemed that a majority of the younglings were fascinated by the two newcomers and crowded around both of their legs, pointing to the cotton candy. Celeste herself was left with a small, manageable group to escort to the snack carts.

I'd been making my way through the festival and I was actually famished... Heading towards the smells of food I looked around...it seemed housing modules were being set up to help with refugees. Based on the sounds of laughter I could guess that at the very least several Knights were watching younglings and also probably including orphans in the outing. It was too common a thing for orphans and refugees to be victimized, if The Silver Jedi could help in even as small a way as putting a smile on the faces of children then I was all for that.

Reaching the food stalls finally I saw several to choose from...With the chaos that seemed to be coming from a Gungans' stall I decided to stay away from that for my meal. The younglings looked to be having a good time though. Reaching a food stall I saw that it had Chicken Tika....Oh. My. Goddesses. Yes. Looking at the owner I said "May I have two orders of the Chicken Tika Ma'am?" I slid credits over the counter and put a few into a cup labelled tips for the chef. The woman manning the stall nodded sweetly and began chattering at her workers. Smiling I took a seat and waited for my food to come out, I saw several Jedi walking around and wondered what this show would be like later on...

Saeria gave gunnygun a little hug, then tried her first flower corn. Going very quiet as she nibbled, not eating but nibbling. “these aren’t flowers.” She said to Ugohr after a bit. Humming to herself happily. Though she seemed very startled when someone was pulled back. Running somewhere behind gunnygun, and peering from out behind his legs. Soon relieved that nothing was going on, she didn’t come out from Ugohr’s legs any time soon. She did look up at his ears though again, always fascinated to see if they moved on their own.

[member="Kat Decoria"]

“I like cats!” One of the girls said to Kat. “Because. Because. Ummmm my sister has a cat.” Another talked about their favorite flowers, impressively knowing a few. Everyone agreed roses were pretty, except Tomo, but Tomo was mean the group had decided. They exchanged a tongue-sticking-out-contest between themselves for a minute.

Saeria didn’t seem that confident, or nervous actually. Just quiet. She had her head somewhere in the poppycorn bag, it smelt nothing like flowers though. Nibbling on little bits. She held it up eventually to Rose and then to Kat to see if they wanted to try flower-corn treats. Also trying to feed her teddy bear, until she was satisfied he'd eaten too.

[member="Celeste Rigel"]

This terrorsome little second group wasn’t done with these Jedeyes yet! Tomo had run past Kat to the front if only to escape the face-pulling huddle. “Master Rigel! Master Rigel! I wanna see an akrow-bat” Little Tomo also had his sights set on throwing a pie or something equally mischievous. “Can we. Can we. See an Akrow-bat” Tomo decided to make his case. Saeria’s head perked up somewhere from the back at the thought of bats, that didn’t sound fun at all.

[member="Kat Decoria"] [member="Celeste Rigel"]

The popcorn huddle clique were debating what they’d do if bats turned up. The cleverest one suggested they pretend to be big birds, as bats didn’t like big birds. So that’s what a couple of them were trying to pretend to be at the back

Jasper knew he couldn’t waste any more time by standing at the entrance of the carnival especially after seeing different people walk past the entrance and into the carnival which, only made him more nervous and worried for him and the scavenger hunt he’s involved in. He stayed behind to the entrance because he wanted to have a better understanding of the type of people coming in there but also because he felt a like a walking bull-eye coming into the carnival alone. A lot of people could analyze that and use it to their advantage, believing that a person like Jasper could be all alone and not in a group, thus having a disadvantage if the number game came into play.

Jasper quickly shook his head in response to the last thought; He couldn’t believe he thought about the number’s game being put into play the way he had envision. He wasn’t at his home planet, he wasn’t at his old city and to Jasper, he shouldn’t have anything to worry about. He bawled his hands into fists, mad at himself for letting his past get to him that much even if for a second. He took a few deep breaths and look around the area one more time in and attempting to use rational thinking in order to make him have a sense of peace in his mind.

“This is just a carnival where people are trying to have fun and bliss in their lives even for a second. They’re friendly.” He thought to himself “Of course not everyone in his universe is...” He shook his head once more deciding to finally move inside the entrance. His first objective not being the items for the scavenger hunt, but for a map of the area.

Just as Jasper began to move into the carnival, he stopped due to the sounds of someone speaking to him He turned his head to see [member="Taiden Keth"] talking to him. He was genuinely surprised at the way he introduces himself and made him wonder what he was planning. “Hello there.” He calmly said in response, making quick eye movement on Keth clothing. Jasper wondered why this person why talking to him of all people but soon realize that he needed to say something else fast or else raise suspicion from the man before him.

“I guessing you want us to cooperate together on this scavenger hunt?” He asked upon being asked about the scavenger hunt since Jasper felt that why he asks the question He wanted to ask questions about the person, but Jasper knew he already wasted time on standing around outside the carnival. A tight feeling emerges from his gut in response to the thought of agreeing with this man to work together. He knew that feeling was worry and fear of a possible outcome between the two of Keth doing him wrong. He didn’t want to think about it, but to Jasper, he knew he needed to think about it. He was just like that.

After a few seconds, he responded. “Sure...” He said he rationalizes this answer and the action of cooperating with this person by telling himself that he will ask questions to the man while they were looking for items. The tightness in his gut started to worsen but he took it in, hoping that it will disappear with the help of questions, answers and time. He didn’t like taking this risk, but he realized he wouldn’t be here and learn much from the force if he didn’t take that risk on that day…

“We better get going.” He said, “I want to get a map of this place and I wasted some time standing here at the entrance.” He motions to the man as he took the lead. “You wouldn’t happen to know where we can get one right?”

It almost seemed like they were going to have a repeat day out at an amusement park. This time it was different though. When they had done this before, they hadn't yet become a couple. They had a few ups and downs since that day and come out stronger for all of it. As a couple now, they were going to do this together and Jason was, of course, present.

His son was an important part of his life which meant hers too. Holding his other hand and looking down at him as he gawked at the sight in front of them, she smiled. She looked up when Josh spoke, asking where they should head first. Pausing in her step just slightly, her eyes travelled around and she pointed out the merry-go-round.

Not quite as good as a Ferris wheel, she didn't like the look of the one here.

"I don't think we should go on that one, but the merry-go-round looks safe."

Now that the tray of sweets ate up much of his supplies that were ready-made, what remained to be sold were... merchandise that required some level of preparation prior to sale. While the cotton candy and the butter-free popcorn were being prepared by his Squib underlings, Ugohr was still having that child that wanted to play with his ears, perceiving it to be floppy and still somehow serving a purpose on land. While that kid was behind his legs. Yet he was puzzled by that kid's fascination over his ears, which remained more or less identical from his first encounter with that particular kid. Both in the fascination that person had, and the ears in themselves. The ears are being played with, especially the lower parts that were readily accessible to the child. For now he feels that they're moving on their own, much as they would in water. Amused at first, he knelt a little bit, while making sure not to hurt the kid behind him, nor to hurt his ears as they were being played with. Now that he knelt low enough to see the kid face-to-face...

Cooperate together. “Indeed.” The formalities were not lost on Taiden, however, he had yet to actually tell Jasper he had a map, something Jasper might find the Echani did a lot of, having to correct his actions with words after the fact. Producing a map from within the small white bag to his side, as he rummaged around, he offered a pair of small binoculars over or a magnifying glass as well.

“Ah yes, a map. Here we are….” The Echani dusted it off and gave both the map, and either the digital binoculars or the laser-assisted magnifying glass to assist [member="Jasper Candos"], so they each had a tool to help the other. Both were very simple tools, silver and white respectively, but seemed to be made of very fine craftsmanship.

“I confess I am not very skilled in these matters. But I should think we might start with the obvious locations such as around the main tent first, and then inside of it. It does seem to be where they are shepherding people.” Taiden noted, his eyes watching the ebb and flow of the crowds, more than the crowds themselves. In fact, spotting details or images out of place was actually going to be more difficult for how he viewed the world, but it might easier for him to more simply…. “we could find also find ourselves following the footprints for clues.”

As he spoke he looked down and around him to see if he could spot any signs.

The first clue on the map for Jasper read something like this…
Pink Feather’s, stop clowning around else you’ll spill them!

An obvious reference to clowns and spilling hmm. About that time, Taiden spotted several suited staff with Blue Handkerchiefs in their shirt pocket. "May I?" The man nodded, and he took out one of them, then another for his new comrade in arms, handing it to [member="Jasper Candos"] with a polite bow, as was his way.

"I'm sure he'll be around here somewhere...I mean there are games here, there's no way Yuroic is gonna miss the chance to show off his aim at the shooting games." As it stood those shooting games were probably the most popular attractions that they were going to find at the Carnival, a bevy of rangers or ranger-trained Jedi falling on the games to make their mark and show off their skills. She'd say that it was loud, but to be honest the entire fair was loud and boisterous, hordes of children sweeping from one attraction to the next, small cherublike faces turned up, catching the lights as excitement sparkled in the backs of their eyes. It was almost cute in a jealousy-inspiring way, no-one had ever taken her to a carnival when she was younger...or older actually. The first time she'd been to one had actually been after she'd joined the SJO actually, now where was the fairness in that? Not like her new apprentice who got to experience the wonder of a carnival while he was still young and free enough to appreciate it.

Actually, speaking of the devil the little tyke looked like he was on the verge of exploding, almost shaking with excitement and anticipation. The girl hooked her thumbs into the pockets of her skirt, fingers resting on the soft material as she shook her head in exasperation. "You know, if you walk backwards into something and ruin your new cloak, don't come and blame me about it. Or that poor clown right behind you with the giant pies." If he wasn't careful he was actually going to walk into something, and while it might be a good exercise in the force, there was another one that Asaraa had planned out for tonight's outing. A slight touch on the force and a datapad floated out, hovering infront of Kobi, held in the air by the invisible coils of energy they manipulated so easily.

"Ok, so this is the scavenger list...but just going to find the items is a little bit too easy. So why don't we make it interesting?" The datapad flipped round and around as if it were chasing its tail. "Why don't we say that we're gonna try to get our hands on all these items without anyone spotting us taking them?" It seemed simple, but Master and Padawan would have to work together as a team to make sure they could get away with this.

Hanging out with: [member="Saeria Aldan-Keth"] and [member="Celeste Rigel"]

Kat could tell that her sister was basically swooning at how adorable all the little girls were. Rose was really hoping to have a daughter of her own and it was most likely what she would have. Kat just knew she was not being called Aunt Katelyn as Rose was constantly insisting on. While it was her full name, her father always called her Kat, that was her real name as far as she was concerned. Watching Saeria feed her bear, Kat admitted silently to herself that it wasn't tol bad to be here looking after them. They weren't completely out of control, for now at least, which was something.

When someone mentioned bats, Kat had to pause for a moment. There wasn't anything related to bats around, besides a haunted house but she doubted that Master Rigel was taking them on that. Listening to them talk about being big birds to scare the bats had Kat trying to stifle a chuckle. "There aren't any bats here." Kat said, hearing acrobats mentioned again, she realised why they were confused. "Acrobats are people, like Master Rigel or myself, they do shows that show off how bendy they are or perform a sort of dance." She wasn't sure how to describe an acrobat, discovering how tricky it was mid-sentence. Hoping she helped them understand, she gave a smile.

Yuroic wander through the carnival on his own, he had won some orphan a very large teddy by getting a perfect score in a shooting gallery. It was nice to see how pleased they were, eyes widening and lit up when they had to struggle carrying the massive bear. Yuroic paused and scratched the back of his head. He was unsure where he wanted to go next, there was little around that was truly aimed for him, which was fair. But he realised he should have invited a guest, someone to keep him company like Jairdain, though he was reluctant as he didn't want her to think he was ready for anything more than friendship, he was still lost on where he stood romantically.

Walking around, he spotted Asaraa and was about to wave to her when he noticed a young boy with her. He smiled as he decided to let her enjoy time with her first Padawan, it was important that she get to enjoy this bonding experience. Yuroic also noticed Josh with his son and Riamah, it seemed they were enjoying family time. It was nice to see that, after all the recent events, it was good to see someone enjoying family time at an event like this. Yuroic wandered around and found some balls in a basket, using the Force, he moved them to him and juggled them in his hands without cheating. It wasn't as skillful as the professionals but it gave him something to do.

Wu looked at Akari and then at the gungan and Sukai as she had to agree and nod to that. "Perhaps but we will see..." She could see some of the others were going around and once they had their food, heading off and doing the scavenger hunt would be something they could try as she spoke looking at Akari. "Now Akari... with your food... do you want to go and see some of the attractions or would you prefer we go on the hunt for whatever this scavenger hunt offers." She shrugged and not knowing was nice but trying to convince a five year old at the circus to just go around looking for things instead of watching the show and or seeing the attractions might be a little more difficult.

Things went smoothly for the two working together on the scavenger hunt which Jasper wasn't surprised at. He previously dealt with people who attempted to harm him by first gaining his trust back on his home planet growing up, so he was certain that the person near him wasn’t going to try anything for the moment. He realized that Taiden wasn’t going to do anything thing to harm him, but Jasper believed that if there was a possibility of horrible something happening is a possibility, then it must be taken seriously. But Jasper sighed, he knew the man could be trusted for now and had no reason to distrust him. Granted he didn’t know anything about him but Jasper knew that if the man had to follow the rules of the scavenger hunt, and he didn’t think Taiden would break the rules but he was still suspicious of him.

Jasper took the map the Echani gave him and looked at the locations of each area of the carnival, remembering them so he wouldn’t get lost. “Thanks,” he said in response to being given a map of the place. When he heard about his suggestion on the searching the main tent Jasper nodded. “ Sure..” he said since he realized he bound to go there soon since the odds of one of the items being there were high.

Jasper had to admit, he started to warm up to the man after he gave him the Pink Feather that was part of the items needed in the scavenger hunt. He was also curious in what he meant when he meant he wasn’t skilled in these matters, so he spoke, “When you said you weren’t skilled in these matters, did you mean the scavenger hunt and looking for items in them?” He asked

Originally, Josh had intended to volunteer to take some of the orphans along with Jason and him to enjoy the rides, but by the time he had gotten there, all of the orphans who'd arrived had already been designated to Jedi. With warmth filling his heart from the generosity of his co-workers, Josh decided then to just take his son as well as Riamah out for a day out. If they were going to hold a festival, why not enjoy it, right? It was all part of the SJO's efforts to resettle refugees, so there was no harm in joining in on the fun. Josh held Jason by the hand as the trio would walk into this temporary makeshift carnival, and the Jedi would look down toward his son who was staring in awe at all of the rides and other things around. He then looked toward Riamah and gave her a soft smile.

"Where do you think we should head first?"

Indeed, this trip was a little different from before. Last time, it was Josh and a friend taking Jason out to an amusement park. This time? It was Josh and Ra, together, as partners, taking Jason to the carnival. He wasn't sure what was here though, in comparison to before and he was looking around at what was around them to gauge what was there. The merry go round seemed like a safe bet, at least. Ra didn't seem to like the ferris wheel, and Josh was inclined to agree. It looked a bit less... Safe, than the one from before. And he didn't want to take Jason on anything that could be a burden. Worst case scenario Josh could save him, but... He didn't want to make that necessary.

"Merry go round sounds great" He said as he would begin to direct the trio toward it. "I can't tell, what creatures seem to be what they're using for the model of the ride?"

Between two fantastical worlds of make-believe, her eyes were as saucers.

[member="Ugohr Poof"]

Looking at him on a level. Apparently comfortable. Apparently remembering their meeting. Saeria nodded to Ugohr, they were like BIG sky whales, jumping in the ocean. “Splash,” she said, patting his ears and trying to understand them? She was just playing. Tapping his ears with her tiny hands. There was understanding and then there was play. Trying her best to avoid the tail end of the whale. Saeria ran round him a couple of times, the sugar certainly contributing to her mood. Then she stopped. Her world of make-believe taking a turn for the extraordinary in her child’s mind. Hoping that she was safe from the reprisal of huge gigantic water beasts. Saeria seemed to be enjoying herself, and feel safe enough around him to launch into a full-blown child’s playtime.

Buuuuut. Ugohr had noticed it. He was the first. Saeria didn’t get past things. It was just. Ears…. Then a decade later. Ears….. He’d been the first to see that, or maybe begin to apply it. Sure the fantasy world of make-believe this time around was different for our tiny toddler, but it was still. Ears… In a world of eternal fantasy for a girl who had barely aged a day.

[member="Kat Decoria"] | [member="Celeste Rigel"]

One of the girls had definitely tried to take Rose’s hand by now, in fact, there was a little squabble about who got to hold her hand brewing, but it was more of the face pulling variety again between two of the youngest. That and something about Birds not holding hands silly. After dodging Gungan sky whales, Saeria overheard this new information about bendy people. The huddle clique got together nearby. With mean Tomo excluded this time. He looked a bit sad and sulked next to Master Rigel, his earlier words about Roses getting a quick karmic resolution of loneliness.

Under the towering gungan sky whales. When the Clique emerged this time, they’d stopped trying to imitate birds. “Seeee I told you. No bats!” Hmmmm “But But, Tomo said bats!” Hmmmm “Tomo’s mean.” There was some hushed whispers. “Kat said um its um bendy people dancing, and Kat’s big so she’s right.” The oldest girl put her hands on her hips, a real diva at the moment. “You’re so silly.” The huddle of girls emerged again, a bit the wiser, despite the circulating rumors of bendy people and imaginary sky whales frightening off the bats. A consensus had been reached that there was no danger ahead.

As the younglings looked about their eyes spotted what look liked bendy people. Getting some clarification, and one girl tried to copy them, there might be a knee bump or elbow graze fast approaching if swift action wasn't taken!

Disen good to feel dat disen kid issa safe, the Gungan thought, not realizing that sometimes the world of child's play was not always worth being part of in the long run. Yes, Saeria was playing with his ears, that much he knew. But the Squibs were busy preparing popcorn and cotton candy: these were the two items remaining since there were no apples left for preparing caramel apples for the other attendees. There may still be some chocolate in some other storage space somewhere, some other bretzels, some other quick fixes... he knew that food was something people wanted while there, although not necessarily in abundance. Maybe those pizzas would be sold alongside popcorn and cotton candy, but that would need some time and a different sort of oven compared to the one used for the popcorn. For the time being he'd just sell soda bottles and Vader cookies on top of those two items. It was going to be a long day for him manning the candy stall; as for the child playing with his ears, he had to be cautious not to hurt the kid: one bad move and the kid can be hurt, or he can be hurt.

Akari easily gobbled up her share of the candy, making sure to savor each one piece but still somehow finishing all hers before Sukai and Wu. If she wasn't training to be a Jedi the young girl could have easily become a competitive eater, as long as the food was sweet and sugary. Her little sugar high came to a stop as she heard Wu's words on what to do next, the young young striking an over the top thinking pose, contemplating such a choice. "To be or not to be that may be a question... I wanna see strange and new things, like this store owner, so flop, much ey". Gugans were certainly an interesting race to look at, their long frog like faces being a little funny to look at. "Well I guess we should go by our tickets or wait in line, might be fun to see, I wonder what acts they have on".

Wu nodded to her padawan where she was looking and moving to get them in line to get a ticket. She checed it out as well as some of the things that were around. She could see some of the animals for them on display, some of the smaller shows and games.. interesting things and there were many more people around the small group. "Then here we go." She had the tickets and was giving Sukai one, then Akari her own before she took another bite. "Now don't lose that, we don't want to have to worry about getting some more." She was looking though at Sukai and offered a smile on her face going towards the tent itself. Wu took another bite of food where she could see a few more people walking around to catch the shows.
