What is Secret Santa?Secret Santa is an holiday semi-OOC event in where participating characters will create Factory or Codex submissions that are uniquely intended to be given to another individual person participating. Much like real-world Secret Santa, everyone participating gets a 'present' from an unknown individual, and in turn gets to give a present towards a randomly selected character!
How does this work?
Members who sign up will be randomly paired with another person who signs up for Secret Santa (the details of exactly who you get will be sent to you via either Discord DM or through a Chaos DM). You can sign up with any or multiple characters that you write as, but each character will need to give a submission 'present,' so keep that in mind. From then, you will have until December 25th to create either a Factory or Codex submission (with a UNIQUE production level if it is a Factory submission, as it is a selfless gift for just that person) to give to that person. On Christmas, presents will be OOC exchanged and in-character the Secret Santa gift exchange may happen on that day
What are the rules?
1. Each participating Character must create a factory or codex submission tailored specifically to their person's needs.
2. NO ONE may tell ANYONE the details of 'who has who' in Secret Santa.
3. As a follow up to rule two, you may not openly guess or try to convince someone to tell them who they are Secret Santa for, as that will force them to break rule two.
4. All submissions must be made before December 25th (it is ideal that the submission is approved berfore then, but does not necessarily need to be.
Breaking any of the rules will result in you losing your chance to get a Secret Santa gift. However, you must still submit a gift for your target person, even if you are 'disqualified' from Secret Santa.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What if I'm bad at doing factory/codex submissions?
Not to worry! If you need any help, check the factory-codex discussion channel in the CIS discord, which is filled with helpful people who can assist you in anything! In addition to that, there are individual factory and codex discussion channels in the Chaos general discord, as well as both Factory Discussion and Codex Discussion threads. Never refrain from asking for help!
To what extent can I investigate my target person?
You can do anything but directly tell them that you are their 'Secret Santa' (although being obvious may make it easy to guess and therefore ruin the fun for that person). An alternative to asking them questions in person may be to instead go through their character's post history, see what kind of things they do, places they visit, etc. and make an appropriate submission for that!
[Factory] I don't have a company! How can I make any submissions?
Don't worry! For characters that don't have access to a company that can produce their submission, you can simply use the Confederacy of Independent Systems as your manufacturer. We would never leave our citizens empty handed!
