OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • :: Unit Name :: Shoretrooper Drop Company, Coastal Defense Stormtrooper Drop Company
  • :: Affiliation :: Thea Thea : New Imperial Order
  • :: Classification :: Drop Company: Tropic Warfare Unit
  • :: Description ::
    With their unique variant of lighter and tan-colored Stormtrooper armor, Shoretroopers are a rarity in the galaxy due to the limited number of tropical environments, especially those with tactical significance to the New Imperial Order. Yet the uniquely unforgiving and complex parameters of such environments deemed the need to gather some of the most promising recruits and best veterans. Shoretrooper Drop Companies are the independently operating combat units created as perfectly constructed instruments of war, used to most effectively extend Imperial will to the tropics.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • :: Combat Function ::
    : Tactics : Highly autonomous, squad-level operations coordinated on an organizational level. Operational decisions are made by the squad leader and each squad can independently act with insurgency and guerrilla warfare protocols. Each squad is also extremely mobile, often used as patrol or reconnaissance units.
    : Operational Scope : Specifically trained and equipped for hot, humid and wet environments, ranging from tropical jungles, swamps to beaches. Due to the partially aquatic nature of potential battle grounds, all Shoretroopers are trained in marine tactics as well as aquatic-based warfare.
    : Self-Sufficiency : Equipped with expanded support elements and support personnel, with specific training in hostile environment survival. Each Drop Company is expected to be able to operate and survive independently without additional logistics or supplies. Scavenging and efficiently utilizing resources is second-nature to every Shoretrooper.
STRENGTHS:
  • :: Tropical Warfare Specialists ::
    Equipment, survival training, advanced tactics, and experience operating within tropical environments have made Shoretroopers extremely efficient and effective in their natural habitats.
  • :: Jack of All Trades ::
    Flexibility and adaptability are the strongest suit of Shoretroopers: each Drop Company is comprised of Infantry, Heavy Weapons and Armor elements to provide the most operational range possible. Whether that be breaking through enemy fortifications, waging guerrilla warfare on stronger forces, destabilizing tropical worlds, or simply augmenting Imperial forces, Shoretroopers are expected to and excel at doing it all.
  • :: Art of Movement ::
    The entire Shoretrooper Drop Company is honed on maximizing the mobility of every element. Shoretroopers have lighter armor, Shoretrooper Armor Platoons utilize only the fastest and most mobile Imperial armor, and even Shoretrooper Heavy Weapon Teams prefer portable weapon systems over static ones. They leverage this high mobility to create a fast-pace tempo to their operations, overwhelming the weak points of their opponents with devastatingly precise accuracy and speed.
WEAKNESSES:
  • :: Only the Tropics ::
    While they retain their combat experience as highly trained soldiers and veterans, the specialized training and equipment of Shoretroopers have little benefit outside of tropical areas.
  • :: Light Armor ::
    Similar to scout troopers, Shoretroopers have limited leg armor for increased flexibility and speed. In addition, their armor is weak to corrosive chemicals in exchange for improved ventilation and water resistance.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Shoretrooper Drop Company is the traditional operational unit of Shoretroopers. Formally organized and formed by Thea Thea , Shoretroopers were created to address the New Imperial Order's inability to effectively secure or assault tropically-located positions. Due to the highly specialized nature of Shoretroopers, they are limited in number and have most notably been assigned to the top secret Imperial compound on Scarif.

Shoretrooper Drop Companies are configured to be rapidly deployed from orbit and have extended supplies and support elements to sustain themselves independently. Thus, they are afforded unconventionally large amounts of requisitions and operational freedom when it comes to fulfilling their baseline mission objectives. In order to effectively function without the support of other combat or logistical units, Shoretroopers are highly trained and often picked out from veterans of other Stormtrooper Legions. This doctrine of self-sustainability, survivability, and autonomous is present throughout the entire hierarchy, with each Shoretrooper being capable of acting as an independent operator if necessary.

However, this also alienates them from other soldiers of the Imperial Army: odd-balls, anomalies, and the most variable members of the Stormtrooper Corps tend to gravitate toward--or be pushed into--Shoretrooper Drop Companies. The generally arrogant and borderline egotistical nature mixed with a lax disposition of unnecessary protocols of Shoretroopers makes them irk the more traditional, regimented and strict Stormtrooper counterparts. They are also often at odds with other specialized Stormtrooper units or Special Operations forces, priding themselves to be the superior fighting force--at the very least, in the tropics.

Shoretrooper :: Shoretrooper Officer :: Shoretrooper NCO

Shoretroopers wore distinct armor markings that corresponded to their role and position within the platoon. Regular Shoretroopers wore uniformly sand-colored armor with a white band over their left pauldron. Non-commissioned officers (NCOs) who often served as squad leaders were identified by an additional light, sand blue band on the top of their chest plates and their pauldron. Finally, officers had mostly light, sand blue colored chest plates and both pauldrons, along with two bands of sand blue and yellow on their left vambrace.
