- Pursuit-Interception Specialists
- Description: The Shatter Vectors are an elite pursuit-interception unit under the Special Forces Command of the Kainate Immortal Legions. Specializing in high-velocity combat, the Vectors are conditioned for unmatched speed and precision, engaging targets with such blinding speed that they often have no ability to respond before being neutralized. Covering their appearance, each Shatter Vector wears a form-fitting, black combat bodysuit with subtle crimson highlights and a crimson-hued visor.
In terms of mind set, Shatter Vectors are predators, not soldiers. They do not fight prolonged battles or hold territory. Instead, they pursue, isolate, and neutralize their targets. In this, combat is viewed as a flow. They do not stop to fight, to the point that their training emphasizes that killing blows must almost always lead to another step forward. Thus, to their enemies, they are terrifying blurs of motion that cannot be outrun or outmaneuvered. In this, they represent the endless chase of the Eclipsing Mission, ensuring that those who seek to flee from the might of the Sith Dyarchy will never find relief.

- Combat Function: The Shatter Vectors are a hyper-specialized pursuit cadre designed to hunt, intercept, and execute high-value targets on planetary and within starship battlespaces. Where jet troopers maintain aerial dominance and Outriders contribute powered speed, the Shatter Vectors bring pure organic speed to the battlespace, being effectively the fastest non-vehicle powered ground units in the Immortal Legions.
In general, Shatter Vectors are deployed for missions that demand precision containment, pursuit, and extermination. They see particularly heavy usage in EMP/Ion-heavy conditions, as unlike most repulsorlift mechanized assets, they are not significantly impeded by dense electromagnetic environments. Mission profiles often include targeting retreating enemy units, taking out fleeing VIPs, and acting as a hyper-mobile raiding force. When embedded within a typical infantry squad, a Shatter Vector acts as a rapid-response interceptor and precision eliminator, filling a role that standard infantry cannot match due to their speed and pursuit optimization.
Shatter Vectors are also trained to operate as solo operatives. In this capacity, they function less as assassins or commandos and more as precision-deployed kinetic weapons—living vectors of speed, shock, and lethality. A lone Shatter Vector serves as a self-contained pursuit, interception, and termination asset, capable of destabilizing entire enemy forces through hyper-mobile disruption.
Solo mission profiles often include rapid planetary insertion via drop pod, typically to hunt a specific high-value target, clear a landing zone, or disrupt enemy logistics. Additional assignments may involve specialized kill missions, wherein a Vector’s speed allows her to bypass static defenses and penetrate deep into fortified territory to eliminate priority objectives before extraction. They may also conduct pursuit and interdiction operations to neutralize fleeing enemy assets, or psychological disruption missions intended to attrite and exhaust enemy forces and morale.

- Dread: Shatter Vectors are a devastating overmatch against conventional and even elite unaugmented infantry formations, since their ability to maneuver, acquire, and engage targets comes faster than most unaugmented beings can form reactions. In this, they can inspire a notable dread shock, potentially stunning the enemy with inhuman speed and precision.
- Velocity Superiority: Capable of sprinting at speeds in excess of 80 mph, Shatter Vectors are more often than not the fastest non-powered units in most battlespaces. They can outrun, outmaneuver, and overtake infantry almost with impunity. Even compared to vehicles or mechanized units, Shatter Vectors can accelerate and close distances at blinding speeds, especially in urban or obstructed terrain.
- Multi-Vector Engagement: Unlike a traditional squad that generally fights in a forward-facing arc, a Shatter Vector team attacks from multiple simultaneous angles. Thus, they can quickly overwhelm enemies by engaging from multiple interlocking kill vectors, simultaneously cutting off escape routes, flanking, and attacking from above.
- Terrain Fluidity: Shatter Vectors can turn complex terrain into a 3D hunting ground, leveraging wall-runs, chain-leaps, and rebound vaults to engage enemies from unexpected vectors. Thus, enemies may or suffer a degraded positional advantage because no surface is truly “safe” from them.
- Precision Kill: Shatter Vectors are built for efficiency, being the ultralight, hyperfast scalpel to the hammer of the standard Legion trooper. Small teams can disrupt entire formations by strategically neutralizing key points in the structure, whether it be high-value targets, logistics, or something else entirely.

- Heavy Fire: Shatter Vectors rely on speed, agility, and terrain flow—they are not designed to stand in an open field under suppressive fire. Thus, high-volume blasters, rotary cannons, or artillery that saturate the area remove the lanes they need to maneuver, potentially forcing them into a static posture that might leave them vulnerable.
- Chokepoint Control: Shatter Vectors are at their best in free-flowing, complex environments. However, if forced into a funnel with limited exit vectors, their mobility advantage might be neutralized. In such a case, well-prepared defenders with mines, barricades, or sealed corridors can pin or force them to slow down, breaking momentum.
- Heavy Weapon Capability: Shatter Vectors carry light, precise weapons to optimize their mobility, ensuring that they remain a high-velocity threat. These weapons are excellent for fast kills on infantry targets, but they struggle against fortifications or vehicles. Thus, Shatter Vectors can not deal with armored threats without outside support.
- Stand and Fight: Shatter Vectors are ill-suited to static or semi-static extended attrition missions which may require holding ground, escorting supplies, or defending fixed positions. Due to their fragility and speed-oriented doctrine, their advantages here are neutralized.

After a number of successful raids to acquire Terrelian genetic material, the natural athleticism of the Jango Jumpers became a topic of fascination and study to the Sith alchemists of the Alchemarch, which began to experiment with it in an effort to adapt Terrelian athleticism to serve the Kainate. Their efforts culminated in the Pursuit Zero biotype—an augmentation and strand-cast biotype which utilizes Terrelian DNA as a baseline, augmenting their speed, athleticism, reflexes, endurance, and yet more physical traits to a seemingly preternatural degree. With the Pursuit Zero concept perfected, efforts came underway to create a military formation exclusive to them, which soon coalesced into the Shatter Vectors.
Placed under the Special Force Command subdivision of the Immortal Legions, the Shatter Vectors were never intended to function as a conventional military force. They are rarely deployed for attritional warfare or static defense. Instead, they are reserved for operations requiring precision containment, pursuit, extermination, and similarly advanced mission profiles suited to their capabilities. Such deployments are designed to be swift, devastating, and final, leaving the enemy no time to adapt, retreat, or regroup.
Operating in squadrons of three to ten, Shatter Vectors excel in high-speed interception, rapid infiltration, and target elimination within environments where traditional forces would be slowed or compromised. Their doctrine prioritizes relentless momentum and terrain dominance, transforming dense urban sprawls, ship interiors, and complex vertical spaces into lethal hunting grounds. Where conventional infantry require heavy support, the Shatter Vectors rely solely on unmatched acceleration, reflex-driven coordination, and extreme mobility to dismantle enemy positions from within.
Ultimately, the Shatter Vectors embody kinetic lethality made flesh. Their presence on the battlefield is blindingly fast, unnervingly quiet, and utterly shocking—marked only by the aftermath of scattered bodies, collapsed chains of command, and fleeing survivors too stunned to comprehend what transpired. To the enemies of the Kainate, the Shatter Vectors represent the inescapable verdict of the Sith Dyarchy’s judgment.
