Zarr felt the heavy thud of the troop transport as it hit the ground and the mouth hissed opened. The metal beast vomited out thick steam and smoke. The Cargo section still glowed red from the emergency lights in the cabin, giving him an overall eerie feeling. The warning siren that sounded impact for landing went silent and was replaced by the clamor of the mix of stormtroopers that rushed forward and down the ramp. There were light scout infantry, heavy weapons troopers, and the standard shock trooper, all with different rank insignias and modifications to their equipment. Zarr waited for the cargo hold to clear and tapped his wrist gauntlet to signal his arrival to nearby forces. He knew there was another Imperial Knight detached to the planet’s surface, but wasn’t aware of his current location.

Zarr swallowed hard and bit his lower lip as he saw the new orders scroll across the screen on his gauntlet. His current standing orders read:
((Escort and provide any needed support to Strike Force Captain Vitani Azumi))

This was the second time he was assigned specifically to Captain Azumi’s strike force. Zarr hadn’t gotten off to the best start with the Captain on their last mission to Nellogant together. Maybe she felt he had a bit too much to prove on their first mission together. Whatever the case, he hoped that their previous success would be the foundation to a new and stronger working relationship in the NIO.

Zarr stepped off the transport. His grey cape billowed in the breeze behind him as his white armor soaked up the greenish brown light coming through the atmosphere. This wasn’t what you would call a jewel of the Sith Empire.

Zarr wasn’t new to the battlefield. He had served on his home planet, Taspir III, local defense force for some time when they were under Sith attack a few years back. He knew what battle and war felt like. He was no stranger to death. But something was off. There was still an eerie silence that lingered in the air. He remembered the mission briefings that he read up on in the transport. The theater of war was still fresh, it was the classic calm before, before the sheading of blood that was so common in these planetary invasions. He could hear mechanized walker’s thick metal legs vibrating through the ground and troop armor clanking as they took up their positions. He knew these sounds all too well. He saw the ground legions in their perfect formations and a sense of pride filled Zarr’s chest. This was his new imperial order. Yet, behind that pride, he knew there was hellfire waiting for them around the corner. He felt a cold chill through his armor, it wasn’t the air temperature. The force nagged at the back of his neck.

Zarr saw where Captain Azumi’s shuttle had touched down, about 40 meters from his current position. There was an imperial tank off to her side dwarfing the green Captain. Like a metal beast having a conversation with the small human. Was that?... It was. Zarr’s eyesight was pretty good and he could see the Major General’s tank as well.

Jumping on one of the speeder bikes that was unused off to the side of the transport Zarr caught up to Captain Azumi’s location.

Dust and dirt kicked up around them as Zarr used his air brakes to stop a few meters short of both the Captain and the Major General. He hopped off the bike and bowed slightly to both.

“Imperial Knight Zarr Gallus at your service ma’aam.”

Zarr glanced at the Major General at his side, and back to the Captain. There was an awkward silence between the two. Had he caught them in the middle of conversation? He didn’t know the General yet, or his command style, but he did know the Captain. And despite their differences he knew he could trust her.

“What are our orders?”
Zarr said more into the air then directly to either of the officers.

Hiram listened as the Admiral provided him further instruction. He was satisfied that for now, his conflict of interest between the First Order and New Imperials had been satisfied. Feeling the tension dissipate, Hiram stood up, "Proceed to coordinate, five dash seven, seven." Voss commanded with newly invigorated authority, "We're going to see about getting rid of the Sith's support." Hiram turned back and faced Lieutenant Boars. The younger officer too, seemed to have had that burden lifted from his shoulders. "Proceed to that central battlecruiser," Hiram gestured on his battle display to the battlecruiser nestled in the centre of the Sith fleet, "Punch a hole in their defences," Hiram added with a slick smirk, "See about getting these boys running."

The corvette formation broke away from the ten thousand meter perimeter set by the First Imperials and rather instead, broke toward the Sith fleet, and its formation of battlecruisers in orbit. Once again, the Sith had purchased overwhelming force instead of real power and agility. "Just like Dubrillion men," Hiram barked, with that ravenous look in his eye, "Show the Sith what we are made of!" The first volley of torpedoes and missile ordinance slammed into the larger Sith vessel, causing its magazines to erupt in a series of concussive blasts.

The corvettes peeled off, as the battlecruiser began to convulse with detonations. Turrets began to blow off from their seams, as the corvettes made another pass, bombarding another set of missile launchers. This caused another cascading series of explosions. The firey red glow of the battlecruisers engines faded, and the vessel began to sort of sink, lowering itself, slower and slower, until it detonated. Sending large chunks of steel, and molten fragments of hull spewing through the Sith fleet, colliding with the smaller Sith cruisers. Mission somewhat accomplished. The Sith fleet was now disrupted.

Very few things could be predicated without facts. Very few things could be determined absolute. But Thaelius knew for certain, that if Thrawn or Tarkin were alive on this day, and they knew of the tactics used by supposed galactic governments today, they would blow thier brains out.

And it pissed him off.

Many on board the Chimera just stared as the warships of Wraith Squadron were pounded into submission. It was a spectacular sight. But then, it faded away as the more warships began to pounce on War Fleet Iron Halo.

Thaelius however, was not amused. He "Send orders to Hunter Squadron. Tell Commodore Taras to to target the New Imperial Battlecruiser Line Single ignition, Kyber Crystal Cannon. Relay those same orders to Captain Kyaito, I want his target to be the New Imperial Battlecruiser identified as the
Indomitable"

He watched as the twin Intercessor Class Stat Destroyer's moved out of thier close formation, and into range of thier targets. And then, in a blaze of red light, they fired thier main weapon, followed by numerous shots of thier Incenrator Class Plasma Railguns and Solar Ionization Cannons.

"Redeploy Saber Squadron. Engage those corvettes and frigates. Keep the Destroyers at a distance, support role only and have our Fast Frigate's engage that picket force"

"Commodore, fire our Fusion Accelerator Cannon, followed by sustained rounds of our standard weaponry at the New Imperial flagship"

Vitani heard the near-deafening ring of a speederbike approach. Vvvwwoooorrrp!
The Captain clutched her blaster rifle and immediately turned about, "incoming!" she called out. The troopers around her took up a defensive position. Her fear dissapated when she identified the Knight commandeering the speeder.

An Imperial Knight? She rolled her eyes in the privacy of her helmet.
Azumi was not the only one to notice the Knight's arrival. Two heavy Sith troopers appeared from seperate corners of the street, flanking Azumi and her equally confused task force. Her squad opened fire and the Captain fled for cover, positioning herself beside Treicolt's tank.

A third trooper emerged in the chaos. He went straight for the Knight, weilding an electrostaff, he lunged at Zarr Gallus Zarr Gallus .

Zarr’s mouth was about to open one more time to ask about their mission when he felt a stab of cold electricity through his body. His senses were heightened by the force and his brain was trying to process it all in a mere second. He could feel the attackers before he saw them, lunging from their locations. Three Sith heavy troopers, their staffs glowing and shimmering with purple plasma and electricity. Time seemed to slow down just slightly enough for him to process all the different calculated movements around him; the tank, the Captain, the escort troopers, the Sith. All like pieces on a chess board. The third Sith Trooper lunged at Zarr, its bulk not slowing it down as it moved with deadly fast accuracy. Zarr in an instant unhinged his lightsaber and clicked the activation button, filling the silence in his mind with the snap-hiss of the silver blade in front of him.

The Sith Trooper made a sweeping arch with his power staff with enough force to crush his midsection. Zarr managed to catch the resonating edge just in time to parry it back and down to the ground. The Sith regained his stance and flew at him with another furry of strikes, twirling his staff with ease as he struck from different angles seemingly simultaneously, yet each attack connected with Zarr’s parrying lightsaber. The heat of the plasma tips of the staff singed the hairs on Zarr’s chin as the staff came dangerously close.

The Sith doubled back for a moment and gained his footing, with all his power swung the staff from strait above, a move that would come smashing down on Zarr’s un-helmeted head. Zarr faded back slightly sliding his feet on the dusty ground, and swung up hard to counter attack. The lightsaber caught the middle of the staff and sliced it into two sections. One half fell to the ground deactivating and sparking as it became lifeless. The Sith bellowed in rage as he lunged again.

Zarr sunk down within himself, allowing himself to be swallowed by the force. Through order I control the force. He could feel the tingling sensation run through his body, his arms, his finger tips. With renewed speed coursing through his body Zarr lashed forward, gripping the lightsaber with two hands and striking with multiple swings of his lightsaber. The silver Imperial Knight lightsaber purred, hummed, and sparked against the Sith’s attempts to parry with his half-activated staff. Then a spark against the Sith’s armor, another slash at the legs brought him to one knee, another strike to the shoulder guard, the Sith screamed out at his enemy. It was faltering. Zarr found a millimeter opening and with an elegant ease, he swung. The Sith’s head bobbed away from his body like some lifeless doll. Zarr stood for a moment with arms akimbo as he watched the Sith trooper hit the ground.

The sense of victory that he felt was quickly replaced with worry.. The Captain? He saw the second trooper getting pelted with blaster fire from the troopers that were flanking the Major General’s tank, it was sure not to last long. The last trooper however was rounding the tank on the Captain’s location. She held out a blaster ready to shoot it point-blank in it’s face. Zarr bolted forward, as the Sith raised it’s arms to swing down on the Captain, Zarr swung up with his lightsaber, taking off it’s left arm from the shoulder. The arm skittered across the ground as another blaster shot impacted it on it’s chest, sending it flying back.

Zarr held out a hand to the Captain to help her up from the ground where she still held the blaster up.

Vitani Azumi Zarr gave that sly smile again. “I do believe the Sith have made the first move.”

“Vitani Azumi, I do think the Sith have made the first move.”

With great reluctance, Azumi took the Knight's hand and came to her feet. She surveyed the damage, three deceased Sith in pieces on the ground. Jedi were effective, but dramatic. Almost throwing up in her mouth, she lifted the severed arm and attempted to interface with its comlink. There was only silence amongst static. She chucked it back on the ground.

Azumi recalibrated her blaster, trying to distract her nerves.

"You'll do well to refer to me as Captain," she said sternly,

The coast seemed clear for now and Azumi managed to regain her composure. She looked to the bodies on the ground.

"Lieutenant, status?" she spoke into her commlink ( Kolson Vrask Kolson Vrask )

"Seems like the Govenor is getting scared. She can't stay holed up in that manor forever," she gestured to one of her soldiers, "spread out."

Some things are worth saving

MADELYN LOWE
OBJECTIVE ONE: Make Preparations
LOCATION: Brynhilde Manor, NEW AVALONIA

6O6G6uG.gif

The chatter of her commlink kept Madelyn away from her spiralling thoughts as they prepared to leave the manor. The New Imperials were above, and their fleet had closed in on the system. Her people were on their way out, most of the innocents, with the civilians taking off in the shuttles and departed, the rest would follow soon, but they would still find themselves at the New Imperials' mercy, she did not truly believe that the First Order had the strength to resist their will so far from home. Worse still, countless remained on the planet: the faltering resistance by the Legionnaires and the people who had remained to protect her. If she stood by, they would die.

The comms crackled. A garbled voice told her the evacuation of the civilians was complete, and the military personnel were ready to go on her orders.

Madelyn keyed the commlink, first speaking firmly to the commander of the Hydian, a man she'd known for over a decade. "Commodore Vex, you may begin the evacuation of your personnel. Lift the interdiction field and overload the Hydian's engines as discussed.

She wiped her brow, shaking slightly, and dialled up the next comm channel, this one to the First Order fleet. "Lowe to Sun-Shin. Requesting fire on the Hydian Bastion. Our forces are evacuating, and we need that station down." Madelyn pictured the crew looking out from the evac shuttles as the station began spinning, watching as the fire from the fleet tore it apart. If it worked, it would deny the NIO of the Hydian, if not Prefsbelt itself. Even if the First Order did nothing, the Hydian would be unusable for the next several months until the damage to the gravity wells and engines could be repaired. Somehow though, she thought it likely the First Imperials would do as she asked. They understood what was at stake.

They were running out of options. She was running out of options. She could, perhaps, get away now. There was a slim chance, but it would be at the expense of everyone else. But, she held on hope. There was hope for the civilians and soldiers of her nation that they would find safety in the First Order fleet. Now, amid all this chaos and destruction, it seemed that hope might be realised.

There were shouts and gunfire from below them, the New Imperials had entered the Manor. If she didn't leave now, she'd be caught. Madelyn fiddled with the comm, not looking at the others in the room and speaking quietly. "Navarch Princeps Ordo, Prefsbelt is a lost cause. When able, pull back the fleet to the Braxant Sector and establish a rendezvous point for survivors and evacuees. We will need all the ships we have for Bastion."

A similar message she sent to the defenders on the edge of the city. Those who could fall back would, and evacuate through the few surviving spaceports and city squares. The rest would lay down their arms and surrender.

The battle was hopeless. It was time to end it.

Madelyn sighed. The pieces were in place. She could only hope it would work as she hoped, that she would halt the needless slaughter here, and spare her people. Was that not her duty?

Turning to face Tithe and Cooke, she gave a wry smile, cracking her knuckles. "Ilya, Yves," she addressed her bodyguards, "take Ms Cooke and Moff Tithe to the shuttle. The New Imperials don't know they are on-planet, and they can join the evacuees aboard the Concordia. Tithe will be needed for the defence of Bastion, and Lord Inquisitor Fordyce will be most displeased if I do not return her ward in one piece. Use the underground exit, I doubt they will have found it yet."

The two women nodded curtly and Madelyn turned away, pulling out her communicator once again, and resting her forehead on the plasteel window of the office, frowning down at a smear of blood on the estate's frown lawn.

She twisted the dials on the device, switching to an open channel. By now, the Hydian would be evacuating its personnel and the last civilian shuttles would be taking off. Once the manor staff were gone, there'd be nobody left to save. Well, beside herself, but you can't have everything.

"Var Koon." She spoke into the communicator, voice cold, clear.

"Tell your men to cease fire. I agree to your terms. You will find me in my office."

If drawing the Sovereign Imperator into the field of battle was truly Fiolette's aim, she would prove far too successful than Irveric might've preferred for pride's sake. All the same, not minutes after the Rae Sloane accompanied by the private sector fleet of Primo Victoria entered the fray, the Imperator's will emerged into real space once more over Prefsbelt.

The mailed fist of the Seventh Fleet, the tip of the spear, the Will of Defiance. As much as the plane of space was never his venue of comfort as a commander, the Sovereign Imperator would not see ground lost here. What had initially began as the opportunity to serve the Sith Empire a message soon turned too quickly into posturing with the First Order of Dosuun. The New Imperial Order could not go fettered here.

Not long after Lowe gave the orders for the retreat, the screech of the Dissident Aggressor emerging into real space sounded out near the Hydian Bastion. With his ships emerging between the Bastion and the crown-baring fleet of Primo Victoria, Irveric Tavlar hailed down the former Sith-Imperial Lord Admiral. The presence of her flagship only meant she herself had come personally, at least that was all Irveric could assume.

"Raaf. Don't do anything you might regret. Whatever friends you have to back up here are on the run...but something tells me you aren't here to posture. If you wish to speak, so be it. But I will not put any more of my men and women are risk in a battle that is already won." Irveric states outright.

Then it was a good thing that Fiolette knew the old First Order codes, she smirked. She would signal Tavlar and request to meet with him personally down on the surface of Prefsbelt IV. She replied with an even tone, "then let us speak plainly, perhaps the old academy might suit us both?" Fiolette locked the code for the Hydian Bastion. I am terribly sorry, Tavlar but you cannot have my technology as inadequate and aging as it might be. She turned the key, the signal from the Rae Sloane activated and the Hydian Bastion's countdown began for a self-destruct sequence. The First Order had been quite paranoid in its age at least when Grand Moff Lowe had been a lowly governor.
She ordered her admiral to take over, he would understand the reasons why the Hydian Bastion could not fall into his hands. If he were in their position, no doubt he'd want his technology kept away from their hands. What were Imperial nations if not paranoid and full of themselves? Each had their own history of violence and genocide after all, neither any better than the other. It was merely about who could be superior and it stood, thus far the New Imperials had been thus. As they etched away at the Sith Empire, with the last of the First Order transports safely aboard the Concordia. Fiolette began her walk from the bridge toward one of the nearby hangars.
0IFjdrt.png
Commander Sun-Shin waited for the acknowledgment from her team, the orders came through from Lowe to dispatch the Hydian Bastion. Sun-Shin ignored them, "we have what we came for, alert the New Imperials, we'll be departing shortly." She turned to Moff Westaway, "unless you have an objection." She suspected the Moff did not and prepared the Concordia for transport. Once more then Seoularian would hail the New Imperial fleet and give them the information.
"New Imperials, the First Order is preparing to depart the system, we ask that you withdraw the gravity wells," the battle had been won and that much was clear, the First Imperials having secured the last of the civilians were then approached about transport for Sith-Imperials. "I don't recall being at the service of a former Grand Moff, do you?" She looked at the Moff with a smile, it was rhetorical. "We're not taxis for the Sith, they can find their own way home, and if not then that's their problem. Not ours."
Cooke and Tithe along with Lowe's bodyguards would find the First Order was not so welcoming, and in fact, refused to allow them to get any closer than fifteen kilometers. Once the gravity wells had been lifted the First Order would jump to hyperspace and make their way back home to Dosuun. The ramifications of the Prefsbelt Event however within the Moff Council and indeed for the absent Ariel Yvarro would be dealt with accordingly. Commander Kimura would find that the Bercey's would stay close to the Redoubtable to ensure its voyage back to Dosuun.

The only response from Thaelius to the Grand Moff was "Very well". The Chiss Admiral was tired. Too much was happening within this singular battle, too much for even him to comprehend.

"Recall all starfighter squadrons. All ships, prepare for the jumpmto hyperspace. Hail the Dissident Aggressor"

Various orders were shouted across the bridge of the Sith-Imperial warship, with Thaelius himself uncomfortable in the vast ensemble of yelling.

"Attention Dissident Aggressor, this Admiral Ordo. As per the rules of engagement and the current surrender of our forces in this system, I am requesting the Gravity Wells be disengaged and our forces allowed to leave. So, we good?"

Having been preparing everything for Madelyn’s escape, Allyson looked back towards the Moff as she spoke to her bodyguards. A hand was placed on her shoulder in an attempt to help guide her towards the exit. “No,” Allyson started and pulled away from the pale force user that Madelyn employed. Making her way towards the woman, the Corellian frowned. She knew what the woman was thinking, she had thought about it several times before in her time as an operative for the SIA.

“What are you doing?” Allyson asked quickly as she made her way over to Madelyn. It was a rhetorical question, the Corellian knew precisely what was going on in this scenario. What she didn’t know was why. None of it made sense, they could have easily gotten out through the tunnel and Madelyn would have been fine. It would be a tight timeframe of getting the woman into the pits and onto the ship before the NIO forces realized, but it was worth it.

Allyson paused and looked at the woman; they both had paths to walk, and with her ensuring that the Corellian was safely brought back to Jorryn was enough for Allyson to read through. It was a funny thing that she called Locke by her alias’ last name. She wondered if the woman had decided to ignore the fact that Allyson had come clean, or it was her way of accepting the matter. There wasn’t going to be a moment for the Corellian to get an affirmative answer from her.

As she stared at Madelyn, she understood why the older woman chose to do things the way she did. If she had escaped with them, it would put them all in danger. NIO had put a bounty on all three of them, most recently the Corellian turncoat. A soft sigh escaped the former agent as she nodded - fully understanding the actions taken by the Grand Moff. At that moment, Allyson felt a new respect for the Grand Moff. A small smile pulled at Allyson’s lips as she reached out and pulled the Grand Moff into a tight hug. It was out of character for both of them, but if someone was watching, they wouldn’t be able to make out what the Corellian chose to say.

Her face burrowed into the woman’s shoulder as her lips turned and spoke quietly and quickly. “Thank you.” She knew the sacrifice the Moff was making, it was unknown if she would survive the surrender and if she would ever see freedom again. The hug tightened slightly, then released as Allyson finished. “I’ll get you out, I promise.” She let the woman go and saluted her with full respect. Looking towards her companion and the bodyguards, she nodded and waved them to leave towards the secret escape way. “Let’s go, Tithe,” she grabbed his hand, and as they walked, she looked at him. “We can’t let her sacrifice be in vain - we’re out of here.”

They headed down the secret pathway to the shuttle which as blocked by the First Order. Allyson seeing this called in a few favors from her sources. Finding aid, the small group escaped off the planet, upon escaping, Allyson would send a quick encrypted message to Taeli Raaf Taeli Raaf letting the woman know of the events transpired on Prefsbelt IV.

The raid continued on schedule. Doors broken, rooms cleared on the ascent before soon enough his helmet comms crackled to life with a message from the Captain Vitani Azumi Vitani Azumi .

"Lieutenant, status?"

<"We're moving up on the HVT."> Short, concise, to the point in his characteristic low and stoic voice.

<"Lieutenant, the Governor Madelyn Lowe has delivered me her surrender, cease fire and see to it that she is brought into custody."> The voice of Var Koon crackled through the commlink in Berik's helmet to the Storm Commando.

<"Understood, I'll follow up when we have the prize. Vandal-2 out."> Certainly made the rest of the climb a hell of a lot easier. The next floor saw Sith-Imperial Legionnaires plummeting to their knees as blaster rifles clamored to the floor beneath. They'd be met with nigh indifference save for two Commandos staying behind to collect the weapons and shackle down the Sith prisoners of war. Like any other, the New Imperial Order couldn't afford not to try an attempt at re-instituting them into the Strike Force or Stormtrooper Corps. It had varying levels of success.

The door to Madelyn's office was the last barrier between Vandal-2 and the mark. A press of a button sent it hissing open. Letting the blaster carbine hang in front of his chest from the shoulder sling the Storm Commando approached Lowe with a slow and careful step.

<"Governor Lowe. I am here to accept your surrender to the New Imperial Order and bring you into custody."> The Storm Commando states before he moves to bind Lowe's hands infront of her with Force Shackles. Dotting the comms signature on his wrist mounted tacpad he patches through to the open NIO channel.

<"I have Madelyn Lowe in custody, we're done here."> The Storm Commando states.

Berik's announcement caught Azumi offguard. She relaxed a little and looked to Treicolt and Zarr,

"The Governor has surrendered," she said curtly. The Captain wondered if the deaths had been a waste.

The troops behind her exchanged puzzled looks within their helms. The Captain turned back towards the dropzone and pointed the way out. She quickly moved over to Zarr Gallus Zarr Gallus .

"You got lucky. Next time you swoop in like that you could've gotten us killed," she warned, quietly.

Azumi turned her back to the Knight, "you put too much trust in your precious force."

Jin moved with the rest of the Stormtroopers, as he carried his crossguard saber with unrelenting conviction. It seemed that the world would easily fall to the glory and might of the New Imperials. Jin pressed onwards, the Sith Imperials retreating as the word was given that one of the Moffs, one of the Sith's most precious little pets had surrendered to the glorious Sovereign Imperator. Just yet another sign that the victory and the end of the Sith Empire was slowly approaching. The New Imperial's tight grip across the systems of the Sith Empire was ever-expanding, and with each move that Jin made in his step. His resolve was unshaken, the honor he carried as a Knight Errant unflinching as he walked with the Stormtroopers to the estate, the chaos of the battlefield slowly disappating.

Despite coming here, the young Kyrel felt a twinge of disappointment. He had come here on perhaps his earliest assignment within the NIO. He had come here seeking conquest against the Sith. To test the righteous hand of his blade upon his foes. Now here he was walking to the estate on the tail end of the battle. For Jin, he supposed that there would be other missions, other battles to come and to be had. That this one was not quite the end all, be all that there was.

Now striding up to the palace adorned in his brown cloak, his silver armor. His saber still clutched to his hand. Looking around until he focused on a signature of another Imperial Knight wandering about. Leading the squad of Stormtroopers with him, until he found what looked to be a Knight cutting down Sith Troopers that had attacked him. Along with what looked to be an officer, who from the looks of it seemed a little more than displeased at the very moment.

Approaching the two slowly, Jin remarked to the Officer. "Leave the Force powers to us, and we will leave the rest to you captain. Way I see it here is that this Knight was just testing his blade. I still see that we have some finishing up here." He said looking at both the Imperial Officer, and the Knight before him.

Tithe monitored the progress of Haulage Groups Forn and Herf as they lifted off and began their run toward deep space. The materiel they carried would be vital for the defence of Bastion. Grand Moff Lowe made her own arrangements, ordering the destruction of the Hydian Bastion before asking her retinue to escort the Moff and the Inquisitor to safety.

The Moff turned without hesitation and headed toward the door with Miss Yves. He stopped paused at the threshold upon realising that the Inquisitor was not with them. Did she not know the fate that awaited her as the New Imperials closed in?

Witnessing the moment between the two women triggered something in the bureaucrat he had not expected. He put his flight to freedom aside for a moment and reflected on his work with the Grand Moff. From organising the opposition to the Apostate threat to leading the defence of Mygeeto, the two had forged a strong working relationship. Having little love for the Sith, he instead considered Madelyn to be one a guiding light within the Empire, a pillar upon which Sith-Imperial society was built. Losing her was most unfortunate.

“May your balance sheet strengthen and your enemy’s weaken,” he said to the Grand Moff, repeating an Aargauun proverb of well-wishing. Given Tithe’s usual nonchalant attitude to others, it was a surprisingly touching sentiment.

With that, he followed Inquisitor Locke down through the hidden tunnels to the awaiting shuttle on its concealed landing pad. As the launched he took one final look at Brynhilde Manor in the distance as the New Imperial forces switched their posture from invasion to occupation. Another Sith-Imperial world, like Mygeeto, Muunilist and Dubrillion before it, had fallen. The relentless march of the New Imperials continued unhindered in the face of everything the Sith threw at them.

The shuttle streaked beyond the gravitational pull of Prefsbelt IV and docked with one of the Star Destroyers of War Fleet Iron Halo, as the First Order’s humanitarian fleet fled in the opposite direction. “Have the Kometes set course for Bastion via Orinackra,” Tithe said to the officer who had been sent to greet their shuttle.

Like Madelyn, he too had arrangements to make.
