Cassus had never been this far out into the Unknown Regions, and the path getting here was long and complicated, from the run-in with the Empire on Garel, to the wasted time on the barely habited Ylix or the dull peace of Aphran IV. It would seem that the young Bounty Hunter had run into a bit of bad luck the past few weeks, reducing the paycheck he could expect from the anonymous, yet Guild Sponsored contractor. Normally anonymous contractors should be bad news for an amateur Bounty Hunter, but if it was sent down by the Guild leadership it could be trusted by its members to be rewarding regardless of whether or not the initial contractor could pay up (probably because the "anonymous" would quickly find a bounty on themselves, the Guild's resources were numerous and no one was ever truly anonymous).

Arriving in his unassuming rustic freighter, Cassus found himself landing in a spaceport on the alien world. It was going to be interesting trying to find a place to start, but he was feeling more confident now after having eliminated the other worlds as locations for his quarry. He didn't think it would take more than a week on his own, not more than a couple of days with his allies, maybe only a few hours depending on how many other Guild members showed up.

"Enigma, Rocho, let me know what spaceports you ended up in when you land. Let's not waste any time catching leads. Is there a place we want to meet up in person, or...?" Cassus spoke into his communicator.

“I’m just saying, if you were willing to let me run a few diagnostics on the variations between the brainwaves and how they correlate with a hyperdrive, we’ll be able to tell, definitively, which is the better form of navigation and which should be developed.”

“You aren’t even supposed to know about how the Third Sight, let alone be able to put up an online transcript on how it’s utilised! Damn it Enigma, you said it would just be passing along freighter inventories, not smuggling gear and people in for you!”

“Yeah, but that’s before I heard that you blueberries had a bunch of psychic chicks running around predicting the future! Hey, how many credits would it take for you to get me one of their brains?”

“I’ve had enough, I have done as you have asked and now I am heading back before I am missed. Consider us even.”

Leaning against one of the benches within the ships mess hall, Enigma watched his contact walk off, the obnoxious tendency the Chiss had to hold themselves as if they had a credit clasped between their butt just as prevalent in their lower mechanic class as it was with their admirals. It had been a long and boring trip to Csilla from Denon, but the Chiss crafts Holonet records had been surprisingly insightful, enough so that the slicer wanted to have a long discussion with Hacks about the idea of incorporating biological components into a server when he got back homeside.

Gesturing with a cybernetic hand, the loader droid picked up the crates that carried all his gear and the pair began to descend, the ship beginning it’s landing.

"Enigma, Rocho, let me know what spaceports you ended up in when you land. Let's not waste any time catching leads. Is there a place we want to meet up in person, or...?"

With a mental flick, his internal augmentics narrowed in on the signal, sending across the location and sender of the messages. Grinning beneath his mask, Enigma was pleased to see that he and his fellow associates weren't too far from each other.

“Anyone know of any good net-cafes or coffee spots?”

Rocho wasn't around all that much for the money. Being a bounty hunter and mercenary paid well, but he was here for the hunt. After-all, he had a surplus of money he just wasn't using. Lots had been gained from being an imperial knight. The experience and the credits were plenty to support him should he ever give up his lifestyle, but that was not something he was liable to do. He planned on making many more scores before his life was over, this was another one. Plus, it was on a planet he was at least vaguely familiar with. He had also, fortunately, joined up with others. One of whom, Cassus Akovin Cassus Akovin spoke over the comms just as the Trandoshan was touching down in the-challenger, leaving behind a NN-2 Front Droid to guard it and locking it up. An altered version of his mki-enforcer-multipurpose-fighter-transport. One made more convenient for bounty hunting purposes.

The person asked about where to meet up, and which spaceports they landed in. While Enigma Iuda Enigma Iuda chimed in asking about anyone knowing about net cafe's or coffee joints. He grunted thoughtfully, "I'll send it to you. I don't know of any cafe's, but I've seen a few good bars around here where we could get a good corner, I'll send those your way too." he said before working on having those sent over. From there he'd have to step out and start heading off to see where they were going to meet up. If they met at one of the locations he had mentioned, that'd work fine. He knew how the taxi system worked this time, so that wouldn't be hard. If it came to a chase though, he at least figured out how to navigate the place. It might require a bit of force leap.

He'd been here before, on another mission. It was also pretty near to what was the Fel Empire. He wasn't really sure if they technically existed anymore, if they did, he didn't care much for it. They were no longer doing what they needed to in his opinion. If they called him for help, great, another job. But they lost their former strength without enough of a fight, and so they lost his loyalty.

Red sat on a bench. He sat in a casual, laid-back sort of way that was completely unlike the soldier he was. He was in regular clothes, but underneath those clothes was his full body armor. He had specifically chosen clothes that would cover his full body below the neck, with pants, boots, a long shirt, and a jacket. He looked like every other dirty, no-good smuggler out there. That was the point, to blend in with a classic and over-looked style that many would avoid looking at. He even looked grimy, like he just got from doing some mechanical work on some ship. His hair has been dyed to brown, and he had in contacts to change his eye color to brown. He looked exactly like what some people would call a "drifter, swindler, smuggler" and the likes. He could blend in with plenty of other of dirty individuals. Blending in wasn't difficult if you knew how to not stand out from the crowd.

Why this planet? Well, Red had chosen it because it wasn't exactly easy to reach. He had even planted false information that would seem completely true, only to turn out to turn up with nothing. It would reduce the morale of whoever was hunting him. Psychological disinformation was also useful, as it would most likely make his opponents sloppy.

So, why all of these measures? Simply, Red had a bounty on him. Red knew exactly why, and who, set it on him. He knew that it was the Iskalloni. They had most likely set the bounty on him because he had seriously messed up their slave plans, and now they wanted revenge. Of course, they wanted him alive. Red didn't know why, but he didn't plan to find out.

He watched the crowd walking past him, and he wondered what would happen next.

Cassus wandered through the alien streets, compiling the data he received from his allies, and smirked at Enigma's ever unusual requests. Pulling out his tracking FOBB, he looked at its dull red glow accompany a tiny rhythmic beep. So far, he wasn't close, which was nothing new. Hopefully, between the three of them, they would be able to triangulate the location of their target without tipping him off. A tall order indeed, but one Cassus hoped they were more than adequately capable of. Between Enigma Iuda Enigma Iuda 's information gathering skills, Rocho Rocho 's brawn and bullets, and his own overzealous tenacity, the capture would go smoothly.

Though from personal experience, so far, that just wasn't the case. Any number of bad things is bound to happen that will disrupt their ability to capture their target. It was up to them to adapt to those changes, and Cassus hoped that the target being on a foreign world, his resources would be more subdued.

"Alright, I'll check some of those out." He said. Cassus didn't like bars really, he couldn't drink, or rather, didn't want to. All the drinks he managed to try were bitter, and not worth drinking. Not to mention that he had a bit of trouble fitting in with the crowd. However, so that he didn't look like an unsupervised alien child, Cassus brought along his droid Mr. Follow, who followed behind him like a looming shadow. The Chiss seemed to wisely keep a wide berth around the too unfamiliar strangers. Cassus kept his head up and observing while he clutched the FOBB in his hand, listening for its rhythm to change.

Rocho

Character
Character
Rocho scratched his chin with his free hand thoughtfully before continuing on. Sticking his FOBB underneath his chest strap so that he could glance at it but that it wouldn't be as easily noticed by others. Rocho wasn't used to catching as many targets alive, but that was fine. They could be alive, they just didn't have to be completely in one piece. Shoot a person in the leg with the shotgun loaded with slugs, and they'd be having trouble using it for awhile, if it worked at all. Depended on the species, and the angle.

Cassus Akovin Cassus Akovin mentioned checking them out, and so Rocho simply kept on moving. His eyes glancing back and forth among those of Csilla. He stood out a bit unfortunately, but as long as he got what he needed, it didn't matter. He just hoped he wouldn't spook the target. However, it wasn't blinking yet, so they surely weren't close enough for that. He kept on the move.

"If I know he's near, the plan to go right into engagement? Or try and get him surrounded first?" He inquired the two to see their preferred methods. Some people were more aggressive than others were. Rocho personally had no leaning either way, normally. But they were in a city, which meant he leaned more towards ensuring they couldn't escape. Engage if they were caught onto, but not until that point or until they were ready.

Sinder

Character
Csilla

With a perpetual winter gripping the whole planet, Sinder was fortunate for his natural fur coat. The harsh winds struck against him, but with a little help from an outer layer of armor and a thick tunic, he was able to withstand the painful chill. He had landed on the planet a little after the rest of the hunters, he had business on Ryloth that he had to finish up before taking on the next bounty.

With the hunters now on the planet, it was time for them to meet up and take down their target as a team. Sinder put his comm in his ear, subtly sending his signal out into ether. The other hunters would be made aware of his presence on the planet shortly. The Trianii tried to act as natural as possible as he made a path through the streets of the city. The bounty hunter had done a little background check on the target in question, finding out he was affiliated with the Force. This Red character was also a renowned soldier according to his file, so taking him in alive was going to be a chore.

“Sinder reporting in, I am ready to meet.” The Trianii kept walking along the streets. The job was to remain anonymous until the target was found. The bounty hunter knew that people on the run likely stuck to the shadows and dimly lit parts of town, so the main streets were likely to produce no results. Sinder ducked into a smaller alleyway, lined with people trying to stay out of sight of most people passing by. Few of them acknowledged Sinder, but the ones that did quickly averted their attention.‌ He had the body language of a hunter and they could smell that from a mile away.

Maiven meandered through the dense rooftops of the city as she distanced herself from CEDF headquarters and made her way closer to her target. Her target was... abstract, to say the least. She figured it was a pastime of her commanders to give her cryptic briefings, since they did it so often. Her mission, lucky for her, was on Csilla. Her r&r time here would only be interrupted for a brief moment.

Her mission: oversee the potential conflict between the bounty hunters guild and a CIS commando they tracked to Csilla.

The Chiss Ascendancy willed one thing only: sovereignty. In recent years the Chiss had taken to an unusual method of maintaining peace in their space, in fact it had been Maiven's entire career up to now. The CEDF would play a passive-aggressive game with the other nations of the galaxy, playing them off each other so they would never bother the Ascendancy. Now that a Confederate commando was being threatened on the capital planet of the Chiss, command thought it necessary to prevent anything from happening that might anger the CIS towards the Chiss. If there was anyone in the Ascendancy with the skills to prevent a galactic scandal it was Maiven.

Maiven finally stopped hopping across roofs as she came to dead end, a building overlooking a large promenade filled with the citizens of the Ascendancy enjoying an array of bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It had bee in this vicinity that the defense force had intercepted the communications of the bounty hunters. Maiven pulled her macros from her belt and began to observe the street far below. Someone would eventually make a move, but until then Maiven was unable to do much...

Chasik

Aktch'asi'kitano
Character
One of the citizens under the watchful eye Maiven Maiven was Aktch'asi'kitano, otherwise known by her Core name "Chasik". She was a tall and lanky specimen, identifiable by her deep red and black robes, with its yellow accents and markings. Though she was not an aristocrat, her clothing choice suggested a level of importance within Chiss society, and her regal air was hard to miss. Those sensitive to the force, would recognize her as adeptly powerful but neither strongly associate to the light or the dark, simply deeply attuned to its will.

Her crimson gaze leveled above the heads of most of the denizens, allowing her attuned senses to take in her environment, and experience it all at once. It was not often that Chasik had been given the opportunity to come planetside, but she took it without hesitance. To be among so many her own was a refreshing change of pace, a reward for her faithful service to the Ascendancy even among its most trying times. Though during the worst of its troubles, she was often far away, discovering new stars and worlds left untouched and undisturbed by the wider galaxy. Chasik held a secret hope that the jewels she had witnessed in the cosmos might stay that way, unrefined, wild, but pristine and unpolluted by greedier eyes than hers.

Chasik was lost in these thoughts when an unfamiliar presence to her walked within her midst. Her eyes glided across the many faces until they came across the eyes of a true predator, and suddenly she was no longer interested in simply walking. There was something interesting to be witnessed, and so she followed the beast and its path through the future...

While she had to wait for the hunters to make their move before she could make hers, she was able to preemptively locate them. HQ had intercepted their transmissions to one another within a kilometer range. They could have moved from this location in the time it took Maiven to get to it. With her macro-binoculars she scoped he street below.

The bounty hunters were easy to find. Really anyone was easy to find who wasn't a Chiss, since they stuck out among the sea of blue skin. She noticed the tallest ones first. A large orange felinoid pushed its way through the crowded street. Its giant stature made it impossible to ignore. The hunter made the right choice when Maiven saw him duck into an alley way. The cat would be able to hide for now, but sooner or later it had to come out and catch its mouse.

Maiven's interest in the bounty hunters peaked when she saw a familiar face. The Trandoshan warrior Rocho Krul shared the unfortunate quality of height with the cat. She was surprised he was back to Csilla so soon. They had previously began working on a bounty that went cold some weeks ago. Unfortunately for her, that short mission hadn't given her a sense of the bounty hunter's capabilities, that of which he bragged when they met. Maiven's assignment was becoming all too interesting.

Now that Maiven had a bead on the hunters, she would sit back and relax. The action would begin soon enough, she figured.

“Wanna buy some dea-”‌ The man’s voice was cut off by his absolute astonishment at Sinder’s size. His pale, bloodshot eyes looking into the Tranii’s with a sense of panic. The dealer had obviously thought Sinder was just another nobody on the streets of Csilla. “Nevermind, sir.”‌ He spat out before bowing his head toward the cold ground beneath his feet. Sinder nodded to him as he passed. The mercenary was in no mood for drugs, nor their peddlers.

As he passed, however, the rest of the beings looked his direction, not in suspicion, but in wonder. Sinder’s large body was more than enough to hog the alleyway from the rest of the folks, three fourths of them were Chiss, and the other quarter were a random assortment of aliens. It was obvious to Sinder at this point that his mission would not involve subterfuge or stealth. Instead, the Trianii hunter was here for the hunt and the hunt alone. He grinned to himself as he passed through, the other hunters would have to keep up with him.

As he worked his way through the masses of dealers, users, and addicts, Sinder could feel the burn of someone’s eyeballs on his back. He tried to casually turn his head to catch their glare, but with no luck he was stuck with only the sinking feeling in his gut of being watched. To keep up appearances, Sinder ducked and weaved again, but to no avail as no one could look anything like him on this iceball of a planet.

Finally, Sinder stopped at the “Old Tap”, which claimed to be one of the oldest taps on the planet. He figured he might as well hide inside and grab a beer, at least that would quell the Force feeling that at least one person was following him..

Character
Walking along the cold Csillian sidewalk, Enigma whistled to himself, the massive shadow of the droid behind him keeping him in a perpetual shadow, the loader droid’s massive frame taking up the majority of the path. While it wasn’t the most inconspicuous way of travelling, the slicer usually found a nook to settle in during hunts and that was where he stayed.

“Alright guys, tech support is planetside, please ensure you turn all devices on and off again before requesting any assistance. What’s the play here gentleman and ladies, ladies and knights, nights and days, daze and clearheads?”

Stopping to light himself a smoke, the skinny human leaned against the crate the loader droid carried, throwing a wink emoticon on his mask every so often at any Chiss females who passed, a casual thumbs up to any of the men who started a little too long. While all his gear was heavy, far too heavy for him to carry, it was relatively simple to set up so he wasn’t in any massive hurry.

This guy ain’t gonna leave this snowglobe without triggering ascendancy security, so its just a matter of when we find him, not if.

" Rocho Rocho , surrounded would be preferable, but if you have the feeling he's going to bolt due to your presence, I would personally give chase. There aren't a lot of offworlders around here, so it should theoretically be easier to locate him... the bad news being, the same can be said for us." Cassus said. For the first time, Cassus felt a little strange, being the one giving out advice when out of all of them he should have the least say in these matters. However, in a profession like Bounty Hunting, words and age meant very little, only experience and results. So far, aside from a few hiccups, he had results on his side... he was still working on the experience of course.

"Good to hear from you Sinder Sinder ," Cassus said in reply with a bit of a smile, "The warning about being noticed goes doubly for you big guy." The faint beeping of his tracking FOBB kept its rhythmic pace, which was not surprising but caught his attention briefly, giving him an idea.

"BB7, I have a thought: while we collect data the old fashioned way, would you be able to scrub through the local Chiss network for off-world devices? We might be able to narrow down our search if our quarry got sloppy within the last two weeks and made a connection to the holonet with a device not native here. It's basic, but it'd be a start." Cassus made a communication to Enigma Iuda Enigma Iuda

"Oh also, just so we're all on the same page and I don't end up repeating the events of Geonosis, let's all try to keep public disturbances to a minimum, yes? If we can do this without any of us arrested I'll count that as a win." He said for all the Bounty Hunters to hear... and maybe anyone trying to listen in. Enigma had made him aware of that on Coruscant that it would be possible for their private communications to be intercepted, by personally intercepting his own com chatter. The memory made him smirk.

After asking a few locals, Cassus finally made his way to a restaurant that also happened to have a bar, probably one of the only ways he could legally enter an establishment with the beverage of choice for low lives. It wasn't a great location to start picking up location the on Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red , but it stood to reason that he had to have gotten food from somewhere at some point unless of course, he had his own private stache somewhere. Over the course of unsuccessfully getting very unenthusiastic non-responses, it began to occur to him, that unless he took public transit to Csilla he would have to have his ship docked somewhere. Additionally, unless he was living on the streets, he would need some kind of living situation, either public living quarters or temporary residence. More information for Enigma to look into, though if Cassus knew anything about the slicer he was probably already collating a lot of data related to that, before moving on to whatever the next thing Cassus was going to think up next.

"Are you aware of any homeless spacers around here that showed up within the last two weeks or so?" Cassus asked a patron who was begrudgingly humoring him between sips of their drink.

Sinder Sinder also called in, good. Their numbers were probably sufficient. In terms of a fight, Rocho was fairly confident in their ability to capture the target. It was mostly a matter of actually locating them. Cassus Akovin Cassus Akovin confirmed the preference on surrounding, but that immediate action could be done fine under the right circumstances. And that they were easily noticable. Rocho grunted glancing at one of the chiss nearby who just seemed to be staring at him. "Yeah, no kidding."

He continued to move along, trying to see which locations would be the best to check out while he kept listening for any change in rythm from the tracking fobb. Enigma Iuda Enigma Iuda seemed quite convinced any electronic changes or actions made by the target would be caught, that made things much easier. In a world of technology such as this it was hard to do much without setting something off, especially for an outsider. As long as he didn't pay some one off by hand, that would make things a little more troublesome.

He was not yet aware of Maiven Maiven observing them. She wasn't close enough for him to sense her presence, when there were so many others around and when he was more focused on finding a new one. His eyes scanned the crowds, continuing to walk and trying to search for anything or anyone out of the usual aside from the team joining him. They were, afterall, not a chiss. And so unless he was carrying a holo-emitter to change appearence, he should be able to locate them relatively easily if he saw them. For now, he just figured he'd keep a look out. The others were all doing their jobs and eventually he'd find a bar to go into to test the waters a bit, offer some credits for answers, if they proved useful, and from there move on.

Red got up and started walking. He hadn't connected with the holonet for weeks, ever since first learning of the bounty. Red knew that splicers could figure out how to find out if he had. Besides, it was more fun if he had no help, if he tried to survive on his own. It was good training.

Red walked towards the warehouse that he had bought. He had bought it under a false identity for a cover shipping and trading company that Red currently was in possession of, under that false identity, of course. Red rarely bought anything with the credits he earned, since in the military he is provided with food, water, and transportation, so he had acquired quite a bit of money. Red had multiple warehouses all over the galaxy for the shipping company. The company was totally legit, had all of the proper permits, and even hired traders and cargo ships to move cargo legally, safely, discreetly, and securely. The company sold and traded to governments, agencies, planets, and private clients, which are mainly farmers, civilians, shopkeepers, and the occasional gangster and pirate. The things they didn't deal in was slavery and spices. It was good for trading and such, it was good income source, and it allowed Red to transport himself to his warehouses, which are good safehouses. Red could use the trading company to sneak on and off the planet as a crew member under the trading company as it would be able to legally leave the planet.

Red had also bought plenty of weapons and provisions. They were held in his saferooms in the warehouses, so that he could hold out for a long time. The warehouses were also defended heavily, with a strong security system, traps, and security bots. Red also often hired mercenaries to guard the safehouses.

Red approached the warehouse. He typed in his security code, then allowed it to take a blood sample from him. The panel analyzed it, then once it was accepted the blast doors opened. Red walked in, and the door shut behind him. He walked down the rows of crates, passing droids and living workers. Red continued walking to the back. He walked up a flight of stairs and reached a hallway. There were multiple doors leading to rooms. These were the offices/living quarters. He walked down the hall and reach one door. He typed in a different security code and stepped inside. The door slid behind him. He walked through the office to a door at the back of the room and opened it. This was Red's room. He walked in and shut the door. Red looked around. Home sweet home, for the time being. Red had his stash of weapons and provisions in the back of this room, in multiple crates. Red had a wardrobe to the right, with multiple clothes, so he could go from homeless spacer, to dirty smuggler, to clean civilian, to CEO of a company. He could change how he looked easily, and could even change his personality to suit any role he needed to.

He sat on the bed, taking a rest for a bit.

As he entered the bar, Sinder was hit with a cloud of vapor from the deathsticks. The harsh air choked his sensitive lungs at first, however, this wasn’t the first time he had entered a seedy establishment. Shortly thereafter he was able to navigate the bar, although he made an effort to show his discomfort with the smoke.

The Trianii took a stool sitting against the bar, his orange striped paw calling out toward the bartender for his attention. After he gave a couple drinks to a Rodian and his friend, the bartender made his way over toward Sinder. “I’ll take whatever the daily special is.” The Bounter Hunter knew he would regret his decision, there was never a daily special on any planet worth drinking. Sinder’s bartender lifted a cloudy fifth in his hands and poured a shot, sliding it toward the hunter.

“The daily is half off swill.”‌ He laughed as Sinder threw the shot back, grimacing a little bit.

The Trianii stood tall in his seat after he finished swallowing, looking the bartender in the eyes as he did so. “I'll pay half...that is what it is worth.” He replied.

There was chatter all around Sinder as he listened, though it was easy for him to focus in. He was able to pick up on the chitter chatter, listening to anything that would lead him to his quarrel.

“Who thinks they can out-drink me?!”
He cried into the crowd, his large body leaning back to announce the challenge. “Loser’s treat.” Around him swarmed the warm bodies of the locals who honestly believed they could outdrink the Trianii.

Time seemed to pass Chasik by, people flowed passed her in quick succession as her footfalls seemed to slow. At the same time, her relative position moved along with her perception as it followed along with her quarry. Her mind's eye placed her quickly behind the stripped beastly man. Suddenly, he was sitting.

"Who thinks they can out-drink me?!" His gravelly voice seemed to echo in within her Third Sight. "Loser's treat." She lingered around this moment for a while and concentrated on the identity of this figure, trying to savor his appearance and voice, imprint it within her. Taking another step that took her a week to complete, the beast was suddenly no longer in the bar... no longer even on Csilla. Hearing laughter, she decided this was too far out of her concern, taking a half step backward she found herself and the stripped one within an unfamiliar warehouse.

"Enigma's data seems to match this place Sinder Sinder , I think you're on to something." She heard an unfamiliar voice sounds through the beasts communicator, and then he responded, quietly in reply. Another half step back and she arrived back in the tavern.

"Loser's treat." She heard again, only this time, she decided to respond. Talking a half-step her vision cleared and she appeared in the visual periphery of her most recent fascination.

"Your name is Sinder." Her voice was smooth, and approachable, as she took a seat across from the alien. "You seek information, I seek entertainment." She waved a hand, and without breaking her gaze a waiter with a tray full of drinks seemed compelled (though not supernaturally) to hand her a glass.
