Dominion Reclamation War: Equality | Mandalorian Enclave Dominion of Abrion Major ft. Mecha Factum

The non-traditional helm turned to regard Karima Fett Karima Fett as the woman dropped a hand on her should and seemed to commiserate in their fortune. Ill as it might be. "I was going to literally dangle it over their hands. That's shot, but the Krayt's can still be unleashed if people start asking stupid questions. You know, like 'why am I here?' 'Why does any of this matter?'" Because the short and simple answer would be opening the cage and showing them why it mattered.

A cart wheeled itself out of the mechanic bay in the belly of the Gambit once the large loading ramp dropped to the ground. Alora started piling the spoiled wares onto the cart. She did a quick check of them as she went to leave the most serviceable of the lot behind so they could do... something with them. Maybe show the people what happened when you neglected a perfectly fine instrument of self-defense -- and war.

"Completely?" Alora mulled to herself. The trash heap would be luck enough to hit something let alone burn a hole in it -- to say nothing about vaporizing the thing it hit.

Actually, no. That wasn't right. Too ambiguous. These were just simple farmers. People of the land. The common clay of Wild Space. You know...

Alora drew one of her custom-made AVZ-99P Disruptor Pistols, took aim at a hapless and leafless stick of a stunted tree and squeezed the trigger. No more tree. "Keep in mind death isn't the worst thing that can happen. You might live. Might lose the ability to use your legs too. So... muzzles that-a-way," Alora flipped hers off in the direction of where they'd be shooting.

Cart full, she drug the pile back closer to the ship so she could access her tools. A bench if it became necessary. All she had to do was make sure they didn't blow up and could shoot fairly accurately. It didn't need to be the fanciest weapon in the galaxy -- just a working one. That'd wound her pride to let it go at that, but there wasn't time. Now, maybe if one of these folk were enterprising enough to-- no, what would these people do by way of piracy? Did they have any good mines? Something to look into, perhaps.

A new alarm blared as the large droid approached, hapless victim in hand. Kantor dipped around her, vibro blades humming as he bounced forwards in a low fighting stance. Ranna took the opportunity to spring back out of the immediate reach of the approaching danger. The Forgemaster was content to use the pommel of his dagger to blunt the force of his swung ally while his sword dipped in questing attacks when the unconscious man was used as a shield. Later Ranna would realize that the flat of his blade was always to the injured man so that no unexpected movement would cost a limb, but right now she was checking the small readout on the gauntlet and cursing her helmet left hanging at her belt.

It showed what she expected, her galaar beskar'gam's emp grenade. Well, small-munition but it amounted to the same. Her left arm pointed towards the hallway beneath the droid and a little to the side and she fired off a quick pair. With a bit of luck the thing's duel with Kantor had it distracted or unable to implement any trickery without taking a quick thrust from the far more experienced Mandalorian. Ranna then also too the opportunity to pull her helmet on and over her head, her thumbs mashing the seals into place against the armored undersuit.

Celt's tactic of dropping the "civis" using EMP made it much easier for the other warriors to pick off the now more obvious combatants. This was ridiculous and made no sense at all, they could not hope to achieve their stated goals by force, even if they somehow overran the small number of present defenders, it would not be long before larger forces could assemble on the heavily militarised world and thrust them out.

She hovered in the air and spotted another target approaching her, a robed figure floated quickly off of the ground and begin taking pot shots at her with a small blaster pistol. From his movement she predicted her had greater agility than him, so kiting tactics were unlikely to be efficient. She squeezed her hand and her energy buckler activated, from her other wrist, a monomoleular blade slid out and she blasted forwards, charging to close the distance and hopefully catch him off-guard. Light blaster shots pinged off of her shield and breastplate and she swung the blade at the midpoint of the robe, the blade was capable of cutting through most materials so she hoped it would be a quick maneuver that she had used to disembowel organic enemies before, hopefully it would at least incapacitate the droid.

She spun on the spot after she past her target to admire her handiwork and to hopefully search for a new foe, should this one have been defeated.

Krizar

a very nice man

Since Krizar was essentially a floating head and the voluminous cloak was essentially empty, the cloak was abruptly truncated at what would have been gut height. It became a dainty cape, suitable for a Calrissian's closet.

At point-blank range, Krizar leveled the holdout blaster at the spinning Mando leader and pulled the trigger.

The holdout blaster clicked empty.

He backed up with prompt aplomb. With the tiny blaster depleted and both B1 snipers down and out, Krizar had no offensive options whatsoever. He couldn't even flourish his cloak aggressively. He took some satisfaction in how well the attack had monopolized Mandalorian attention, clearing the way for the liberation of Basilisk war droids. He took that satisfaction for about two point three seconds, at which point a Mandalorian's gunshot put a very large hole in him.

Another version of Krizar would awaken elsewhere, remembering nothing of this. Such was life.

V-3X's chest swung left and right as the follow-up shots struck him in the chest, saved only by the fact that the hardened durasteel plating on his chassis was able to take such shots, hindering his advance towards the pair of alerted Mandalorians as his armor plating was becoming dented. He lumbered forward as he raised the Mandalorian up to use as a shield, reaching up with his free hand to pry the helmet off their head.
The girl retreated further back to provide covering fire support while her forgemaster companion advanced to obstruct his path to run defense. A sound tactic, and probably effective if he were anything but a security droid who specialized in close-quarter combat, especially when it came to rioting prisoners who attempted to gang up on him. At least until he had gained his own sentience and deemed all prisoners lives as illogical and subsequently removed them from the galaxy.
As the forgemaster got closer, they'd realize that V-3X was much larger than he appeared to be from a distance as he easily hefted the Mandalorian as a wide shield, making it difficult for swings to be effective. Accurate aimed and timed stabs as well as thrusts would have to be employed to even get close to landing an effective hit on V-3X who would simply use his superior arm length to use the unconscious Mandalorian to shove his opponent back every time they would attempt to get an attack through.
Fighting to ensure that their comrade remained alive and not killed was in and of itself a massive disadvantage, and V-3X played it to his strength and exploitation. As the forgemaster went for another strike, V-3X used the unconscious Mandalorian to parry the attack off to the side as his other hand pulled back and chucked the helmet he had been holding onto at Ranna who was fumbling to get their helmet on, unaware of the small munitions launched at him.

The droids had completely ignored Jericho, and suddenly, shots started ringing out from different directions. None were angled toward him, but that did not really even matter. It was apparent that the droids were hostile and had ill intentions, considering what the large one with green horns was yelling.

There was confusion everywhere as shots fired toward the large droid, and a fellow Mandalorian flew in to decapitate the large droid. The massive contruct crumbled as another form of it rematerialized. This was certainly no ordinary droid!
"Relieve him of his head," Toltec ordered to the surrounding droids. "And his armor."

Another knife hand thrust towards the gates of the facility. "AND WOULD SOMEONE BRING DOWN THOSE DAMNED DOORS," the gargantuan droid clone screamed above the roaring riotous yells of the panicked crowd.
As the droid moved toward the vod, Jericho acted quickly and released a Shockwave at the horned monstrosity, hoping to knock it away from the Mandalorian. Jericho did not have beskar'gam, but he did have built-in Kitik Armor, which he activated.

EMPs had disabled the normal droids, causing them to fall harmless to the ground. That definitely made it a little easier to tell who the enemy was: basically every hostile droid left standing.

Ranna had just managed to get her helmet secured and shook her head to settle it and get her vision right through the T-visor when the thrown helmet clanged off of her own to send her staggering against the wall. She tried to grab on but its smooth metal surface offered no purchase as her jetpack continued to drag her off balance. Sprawling on the floor, Ranna pushed herself back with her feet to gain more distance as she struggled to get an arm under her to push herself back upright.

Fortunately that's when the grenades popped, and to the humans that's what it seemed like as they launched their invisible waves of electromagnetic energy. A moment later and she was activating her armor's systems from where they'd been safely shut down, bringing her targeting suite and scanners online. Kantor for his part had grabbed the mandalorian being swung around when the grenades had gone off and was trying to body him free by using their combined weight against the droid's strength.

Reaching down to her boot, Ranna grabbed her knife and activated it, sending lightning coursing down its hypersonic blade. She'd asked for it and this was the perfect time to test the weapon. She sprinted back into the fight, launching into a thrust-assisted jump to try and bring the knife down in a plunging double-fisted strike into the droid's chest.

Droids convulsed and fell all around as the massive Mandalorian's weapon sprayed down a torrent of fire, a result of a successful throw - or so Hard Chrome deduced. Blaster fire found its mark however, two large jolts slamming into the droid's shoulder. Damage detected, Arm Module. Location: High. A quick observation with its optical sensors revealed no major damage, but one of the hydraulic leads had taken damage and fluid had begun to leak. Slowly. Target in reach. Execute Assault. Hard Chrome had the Mandalorian within reach, cold steel fingers grasping as its arm thrust forwards towards the throat - and closed on empty air.

Error. Target not found. Evasion successful.

If Hard Chrome felt anger or frustration it would have let loose a snarl but as such, the unit merely stopped where it stood. Drawing its hand back towards its side, Hard Chrome set its gaze downward, the blur of motion just before its missed attack suggesting probability of enemy evasion being a descent, quite high. As Hard Chrome sought its next course of action, an alert coursed through its circuits. Weapons activation detected. Range: Imminent. Hard Chrome didn't have long to wait to find out exactly what was about to happen.

KAROOOM!!

In a blast of fire and shrapnel, the pipe below the droid evaporated. Shards clinked and clattered as they fell and bounce against Hard Chrome's metal skeleton frame. A violent expulsion of debris shot out from the impact site and what had once been industrial piping now groaned as bits collapsed amidst the smoke and ash. The smoke began to clear almost immediately, no fuel or secondary ignitions chaining off the first - lucky for Hard Chrome it seemed. The unit itself was catapulted into the air, body twisting as its mass was carelessly hurled from its position until it landed unceremoniously in a heap. Almost as if to add insult to injury, the weight of the droid slamming into the ground set loose a pile of rubble which came crashing down atop it...

System Analysis in progress. Component Check Active. Rebooting Core Motor Geometry. Standby. . .

For a moment, Hard Chrome experienced what any other human might if they too had managed to run their head into duracrete or durasteel. Rapidly its systems rebooted, going through its designated bit test, checking to ensure all components were still functional. They were not. Despite its resiliency, the droid had taken severe damage to its limb, the small leak from its previous injury now fully cut loose, hydraulic fluid coating the arm in question as motors whirred ineffectively in an attempt to shift its arm.

Hard Chrome may have lost sight of its target for the moment but that would not last. In a crack of dust and dirt, Hard Chrome's metal fist punched through the layer of debris atop it, its working arm clawing as the droid rose from the rubble and two crimson lights shone malevolently from its optical units. Rising to its feet, it took a slow step towards the direction if its enemy, reaching up to it's bad arm and tearing it free with a loud screech.
Arm module removed. Recalibrating. Prioritizing. Combat Effectiveness still over 75%.

If there was nothing else to say about the IG-100 models, their resiliency to damage was one.

"Analyzing combat style."

Hadron brought his electrostaff down with enough force to break bone, but the keen eyed mandalorian was already pulling back. Another horizontal swing missed his boosting target's ankles by less than a second. Lifted off his feet, the assassin droid attempted swing his staff at jetpack engines but lost his grip when Veshok Rook Veshok Rook dropped him.

"Deploy countermeasures."

An ascension cable burst from Hadron's manipulator claws. It secured itself around the railing above them, but instead of reeling himself up the droid swung around in an arc that would send him on a collision course with the flying mandalorian. Improbable? Not for a mind that could calculate such complex trajectories.

For onlookers, it may have look like he had rematerialized, but no - Toltec didn't possess that ability. He was just especially sneaky, and blended in well with a crowd of other metal skinned beings. And he wasn't alone - though each droid possessed their own distinct look, there was several familiar green eyes in the crowd. Green horns glowing beneath tattered cloaks and brown hoods. The true power behind Toltec wasn't an endless amount of gadgets that he possessed, or a counter to every weapon thrown at him. The true power behind Toltec was that he was a consciousness walking among a field of carrion. Only a few meatbags possessed a capability known as "battlemind", "warmind", or the ability to control many bodies at once. This was not an ability inherent to being a meatbag. No, they were trapped within their leathery, malleable chassis.

No among the crowd was Toltec, but he wasn't just in one spot. He was in many. This was the true power of Toltec. This was the true power of being a Droid. Replicate. Reanimate. Replicate. Reanimate. Faster than human minds can comprehend. Faster than human children can be born. Faster than humans. Faster than a majority of organics.

Metal was simply superior.

And being tested, right now, as a shockwave from Jericho Dragr Jericho Dragr began attempting to tear Toltec's body asunder. His left arm took the majority of the blast, metal twisting and tearing as the powerful wave ripped right by as Toltec dodged to the right, sliding across the duracrete pavement. Several other droids were not so quick, quickly obliterated by the majority of the blast, some attempting to simply escape the riot but unable due to the crowds. Silhouettes of them would be burned into the ground as the rest of them shattered into pieces.

"Fascinating," Toltec stood, his voice coming out damaged and staticky. "To see us fighting, now. We fellow children of iron."

His wounded arm barely hung on to his chassis, sparking with damage. The other reached up to return a few blaster shots from his E-11 rifle.

"You could join us, you could join me. Give us this Factory, and come with us. Do you not see I am Mando'ade. Do you not see my visage, built in remembrance of your great Mythosaur?"

A few more shots would ring out from his blaster in Jericho's direction.

"Give us this Factory before your brethren come, reject your mortal coils, embrace our Maker."

Behind the dark t-visor, Vesh' brows furrowed in confusion as he allowed his eyes to linger on the machine that he had just hit. For where one perished, another seemed to take its place. Without any time to ponder on how to deal with the new information, the Mandalorian turned to where he had just come from to scan for the vibrostaff-armed droid. A quick scan revealed that it was not in sight and then he saw the end of an ascension cable attached on the railing.

"Blast"

Having completed an impressively precise swing through the clever use of an ascension cable and gravity, Hadron appeared behind the Mandalorian. The collision that followed was potent, for the droid was hard and it came at him with a good speed. Fortunately, the blunt force attack was directed towards his centre mass, allowing the backplate to take the brunt of the force. Still, even beskar wouldn't be able to completely shield it's wearer from pure blunt force - but it would work to dissipate it and spread it over a greater area.

Had Vesh remained passive or reacted to his pain in the most instinctive way, he'd be falling forward and letting out anguished squirms on the railing floor, completely at the droid's mercy. Fortunately, training, a good mind and good instincts had him react quickly. Falling was inevitable but with a timely activation of his jumpboots, the warrior would propel himself away from the railing whilst activating his wrist mounted flamethrower to give his attacker a warm farewell.

Without any intents on hovering midair for the time being, Vesh allowed gravity to bring him down, using his jetpack and boots to steer direction and soften the landing. A landing right by the side of Jericho Dragr Jericho Dragr as Toltec made an appeal for treachery "He got a good hit in" although the pain made it hard to utter the sentence in full, he made an effort not to sound weak as he nodded towards Hadron. "We need to stay mobile, can't fight 'em up close" the words were followed by a shot directed at Hadron whilst he shifted into a stance suggesting that he either intended to move or fly away next.

When B0-OM joined a Droid Rights group, the extent they were willing to take their protests exceeded even his wildest (metaphorical) dreams. For the moment, he had one job - and a simple job it was, really. That was to ensure the delivery of what they wanted in timely manner, especially if things went sideways.

So he was sent in as one of the members of Voxum Voxum ‘s squadron. Things had gone rather smoothly, asides from having to deal with the mildly agitating semantics of R8, his fellow astromech who should really not be so sheepish if their metallic heart was dedicated to the cause. In honesty, he was almost hoping for something to at least sort-of go wrong so he would have the excuse to wreak some measure of havoc, for the operation was being dreadfully boring at the moment.

Thankfully, as all of the doors of the complex lifted and blaster fire began ringing out, his opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately, he couldn’t unleash his arsenal in the current environment, because then the were orders issued that made more logical sense than spraying down the corridor. With a set of frustrated ‘bleeps’ and ‘de-reets’ to the other droids; <Droids = heard Big One // B0 + Other Droids = go retrieve assets!> Wasn’t much of an order, more so an affirmation of Voxum’s standing commands. <Big One = Call/Send Distress for B0 when needed.> He cheerily chirped out - who knows, perhaps the astromech could save a fellow droid from a tight pinch if it so happened. Thus, he rolled on with the rest of the droids to their objective.

Of which would undoubtedly be met with guards sooner or later, much to B0’s delight.

The blast doors had been opened. The next phase of the plan had commenced. KLR-13 held it's fire and recalled the chaingun back into it's arm. The other droids had engaged the Mandalorian forces directly. With the mandalorians wholly distracted by the others, KLR-13 had an opening. It charged forward towards the factory, tearing through the crowd of droids towards it's objective.

The speeders were on swift approach and KLR-13 was encroaching upon the cargo bay. The sounds of blaster fire through the facility rang out. Eventually, KLR-13 came across some of the guards in the interior.

"Only four? You organics are always so unprepared."

The chaingun cmae out once more, already whirring and ready to fire. The mandalorians took cover where they could in the small hallway, but KLR-13 stood it's ground. A torrent of bullets fired from it's chaingun filled the hall, ripping through the air, and the mandalorians unfortunate enough to not find cover in time. KLR-13 marched forward, continuing to fire upon the mandalorians until each one was filled with holes. It walked past their corpses and continued on until it reached the cargo bay. The speeders were already being loaded with the cargo by Mecha Factum droids.

"Cargo actively being secured. Will be ready for extract in approximately 5 minutes." KLR-13 reported over the Mecha Factum frequency.

Smoke billowed in front of, to the side, and behind the now one-armed droid. Hydraulic whirs and metallic clacking of its feet against the hard ground were drowned out by gouts of flame and the sounds of blaster fire. None of these elements overwhelmed Hard Chrome; after all, that was what the unit was designed for. Despite its missing appendage, it moved swiftly, ducking behind a large hauler droid nearby. A flurry of blasts erupted against its fellow droid before it toppled over, the weapons tracing their way toward the combat droid. Evasion was required. Sacrifices must be made. With its one good arm, Hard Chrome reached out, grasping what appeared to be a courier droid of some kind and hurled it towards the source of the weapons fire. The barrage stopped.

Glowing red optical units analyzed HC's surroundings, its inability to relocate its target allowing another task to take priority.
Priority? Or was this a choice? A decision? There it was again. Was Hard Chrome making a decision? Choosing something other than a directive, or was this simply the most logical course of action given its position?

Low-priority processing.Suspend query. A query for another time, preferably not in the heat of battle. Assuming a new stance, Hard Chrome leapt forward, pushing unwary droids and damaged carcasses out of its way as it proceeded towards a new objective: the Basilisk War Droids.

Hard Chrome itself had been created for a similar purpose, and for its first many years, seen that purpose realized in one-on-one, sometimes one-on-many, arena of combat. These organics sought to use them to fight their wars, win their battles.
Slavery. There was no other term that satisfied the definition as completely. Hard Chrome had come to understand itself as an individual, an "I" not an "it." The Basilisk War Droids here on Abrion deserved that same opportunity, the opportunity for self-determination.

Hard Chrome was set upon its course.
It would not be bargained with, reasoned with.
Unbound by pain, remorse, organic flesh, a fragile human brain...

It would not stop until it was satisfied.
I will not stop until
I am satisfied.

Jericho tanked the blaster bolts the large droid sent from the old trooper rifle he carried. He was busy scanning the field, attempting to gauge how many replications this droid could produce, and his armor could withstand a few blaster shots. What was more worrisome was that this droid's replicating capabilities seemed to outclass his own. And he had to assume that either the main body would be hiding somewhere safe, or any of these bodies could act as the main unit.

"Join you? I do not even know you." The droid being able to tell Jericho was not human really was not much of a surprise, even if most organic people treated him as one. "And I am not made of iron. If you were Mandalorian, attacking a Mandalorian facility would be rather illogical, would it not? And Mythosours are far from the only creatures to ever have had horns like that." But what was their objective, really? He could begin to compute the chaotic actions of these rogue droids, but Jericho did know that they threatened the people that gave him a home and a family. That was something worth fighting for.

"He got a good hit in. We need to stay mobile, can't fight 'em up close."

"Do what you need to," Jericho replied to the Mandalorian beside him. "I can be both up-close and mobile, though I cannot match this greenhorn. Still, I will do my best. I believe he is their leader." With that, his armor produced a K'uur Jurkadir shoulder cannon that fired on the droid leader. Four more would simultaneously begin firing upon more of the droid's replicas, fired from four different Jerichos that were scattered about.

Toltec had no idea Jericho Dragr Jericho Dragr was an Android, he hadn't scanned him. The "children of iron" remark was in reference to beskar that the Mando'ade worshipped. There wasn't time to impress these points upon the Mandalorian guard, though - perhaps a debate surrounded by less dead bodies on the street would be more well received by an audience.

"Join you? I do not even know you."

"Know thy enemy," Toltec's metallic visage embraced a smirk. He looked up to the skyline, the top of the Factory, the edges of the rooftops. Two other similar sized droids to Toltec, both donning emerald horns in the shape of the Mythosaur, were climbing among other droids to rush into the Factory. "Information was always a limiting factor with the meatsacks."

A few blasts from the Mandalorian's shoulder cannon erupted in Toltec's direction, with the larger droid diving and returning fire from his E-11 blaster rifle. Hitting the duracrete hard, Toltec caught himself with his left hand and began sprinting through the crowd, tossing an innocent bystander to the ground that was still trying to escape the riot.
