OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Globex's Praetorians are frighteningly deadly commando droids heavily inspired by the Clone Wars era's IG-100s - their heuristic processors permit them to learn from their experiences in ways an ordinary droid cannot. Even without field experience, a Praetorian is a fearsome foe, for every new unit is endowed with programming derived from particularly successful Praetorians; they can be specialists or generalists.
Like the IG-100s before them, their reaction times, resilience, strength, and impressive cognition allow them to challenge even Force Users in single combat, though it is advisable to outnumber Knights and especially Masters. They are equally skilled at operating alone and fighting together.
Unlike the IG-100, they often see use in small special forces teams; groups of two to six Praetorians are well-suited for everything from sabotage of critical infrastructure or starships to hostage rescues. Due to their lethality and superhuman perceptiveness, these droids are known to serve as the bodyguards of executives, data savants, and other high-ranking Globex employees; junior executives generally make do with Scions.
For similar reasons, they are sometimes seen accompanying Senators, royalty, celebrities, and other members of the galactic elite.
PRODUCTION DETAILS
Praetorians are one of the few Globex products not available as a DRM-protected schematic on the open HoloNet. Instead, they are almost always produced and distributed by Globex itself, primarily due to the key role Atomic Forges play in the fabrication. Their Duranium-Beskar chassis is made and alloyed in secretive foundries - it is said that the alloy is produced in the shape of the droid, rather than ingots, due to its unworkable nature.
Whatever the case, their composition is exotic enough to make repairs unusually challenging - even dents may require specialised facilities to repair, leading some owners to simply leave them. Others make the same choice because they prefer the danger their droids' veterancy implies.
Naturally, Praetorians serving Globex directly are almost always undented and freshly polished, both because Globex executives are rarely subject to assassination attempts and because Globex's organisational culture discourages breaking 'the mirage of polished perfection'.

- Armaments: Praetorians often carry Stormpikes or plasmatic blades capable of blocking a lightsaber, but they are capable of wielding just about any weapon designed for organic users - and some weapons with vehicle-grade recoil. See below for integrated weaponry.
- Arm Weapons; integrated charrics and vibroblades.
- OR a miniaturised Hellpyre-style emitter.
- Shoulder Weapons; rapid-launch Deathwasps.
- OR high-intensity sonic emitters.

- Advanced Vocabulator (Capable of mimicking both voices and sounds.)
- Advanced Photoreceptors (360-degree coverage; multi-spectrum.)
- Magno-grip Hands, All-Terrain Legs, and Integrated Gravpack.
- Computer Interface Arm and Integrated Surveillance Tools.
- Arm-integrated Energy Shield Bucklers; anti-lightsaber+.
- Resistances: Well-rounded durability.
- Energy Weapons: High
- Kinetic Weapons: High
- Lightsabers: High
- Praetorians feature hyper-advanced data-brains encased in a Beskar shell for improved survivability; their response times, usually measured in nanoseconds, are short enough to be confused for precognition by the casual observer. They are equally precise, for the predictive kinetic models they apply to opponents are able to continuously evaluate motion, distance, wind strength, local gravity, and various other factors to coordinate their movements with inhuman skill. Praetorians can reliably hit moving targets the size of a coin from hundreds of metres away.
- A Praetorian's central computation system is protected by Ironmaze; a formidable obstacle, given its impressive processing power.
- Praetorians are powered by Visium fuel cells; solid-state Visium is used if a unit needs to be able to operate for independently years.
- Inhuman Machines: Praetorians are superhumanly fast, strong, and durable; they have the reaction speeds to threaten Force Users while wielding lightsaber-resistant blades and the uncanny accuracy needed to snipe targets from distances that would confound 'a mere organic'.
- Logistics Wins War: There is a reason why the B1s formed the backbone of the CIS' droid legions, despite the existence of more deadly models - elite commando droids are simply not cost-effective in the meat grinder of attrition warfare and Praetorians are no exception.
- Fried Circuitry: Even weak to moderate EMPs and glancing hits from ion weapons will cause visual glitches in the Camofibre coating.
