SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Camofibre is a colour-shifting material studded with light receptors; these receptors identify the 'colour scheme' of their surroundings and uses this to generate an appropriate camouflage pattern on the fly. This is highly reliable in the dark and across distances, but even the least alert of sentries are likely to notice up close - while more flexible than conventional camouflage, camofibre is hardly a cloaking device.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • Techno-Chameleon: Camofibre can shift its colouring to match its background in real-time.
  • Scarred Surface: Damage to the camofibre layer will prevent that part from functioning.
  • Fried Circuitry: Ion weapons and EMPs cause visual glitches or even breakdowns.
DESCRIPTION
Fight smarter, not harder.

Camofibre is an all-purpose camouflage solution usable in almost (extreme heat and acid rain has been known to compromise the Camofibre layer) every environment without relying on fallible user input. While more expensive than a simple paint job, a Camofibre layer is still orders of magnitude cheaper than personal cloaking devices - if necessary, it can be rolled out to entire armies without breaking the bank.

If fried by an EMP or manually disabled by the user, Camofibre normally turns a drab greyish-black. It requires some amount of power to function, but the draw is small enough that it can be used for entire military campaigns without recharging - under ordinary circumstances, anyway.

Camofibre can be paired with sensor-baffling materials or technologies, but this is not a standard feature.
