  • Hibani Scythe - A small, autonomous tripod-mounted emplacement featuring a sophisticated, pulse-fire coherence laser. It's designed specifically for rapid target acquisition of small, fast threats like grenades, micro-drones, and shrapnel, providing immediate close-quarters air defense.
  • Ablative Fortifications - A deployable, materia sheeting. The Core prints and projects these point-to-point defensive measures to quickly reinforce vulnerable structural points like windows, doors, and breached walls with material that has a hardness rating ≈10.25 times that of standard beskar.
  • Defensive Grid - A sophisticated, low-power deployable gravity projector designed to create a localized, non-lethal kinetic drag field that slows enemy movement. It is often augmented with a short-range, hair-thin laser tripwire to alert the Legion Protocol to an ingress.
  • Yuánshuài Barriers MK II - Advanced deployable projectors that establish a dynamic energy-filament grid. This laser grid is self-improving, capable of analyzing target mass and velocity to increase filament tension and power output, allowing it to cut off and barricade large areas with lethal effect.
  • Localized Aegis Purifier - Compact purification nodes capable of rapidly scrubbing the air of biological agents, toxins, and environmental pollutants. These are applied to entrances to create an effective clean room environment within the defensive perimeter.
• Legion Protocol (Adaptive Defense Mind): The Legion Protocol is the AFK's adaptive AI, managing the entire deployed network. Its function moves beyond mere system coordination; it's a self-optimizing defensive intelligence.
  • Real-Time Tactical Learning: The Protocol constantly monitors all deployed assets. When an attack successfully breaches a layer of defense (e.g., a Hibani Scythe is overwhelmed, or a Shield Gate collapses), the Protocol instantly logs the method and velocity of the breach.
  • Defensive Turtling: Based on its analysis, the Protocol automatically reconfigures the deployment blueprint, propagates new countermeasure mixes, and physically layers systems to compensate for the detected vulnerability. This creates an ever-evolving, deeply redundant matrix that forces attackers to continuously change their tactics against a position that is literally growing stronger under assault.

STRENGTHS

• Self Repairing: The AFK chassis itself is designed with materia within its structural shell, allowing it to autonomously repair micro-stress fractures within minutes and more significant physical damage over the course of days, ensuring the Core remains functional even under direct fire.
• Calabi-Yau - Designed within to allow the compact design as various components can be within a singular space and the manifold created.
• Unprecedented Tactical Flexibility: The AFK provides an instantaneous, comprehensive answer to nearly every conventional threat kinetic, explosive, chemical, electronic, and environmental from a single, soldier-portable source. It effectively transforms any combatant into a mobile fortification engineer.
• Sustained Operational Endurance: Powered by its highly efficient Calabi-Yau core and sustained by its internal duplicator, the AFK can maintain a complex defensive perimeter for extended periods. As long as some ambient matter and energy are available, forces can hold a position indefinitely against a sustained siege.

WEAKNESSES

• Exotic Particle Instability: The Calabi-Yau manifold relies on specialized exotic particles for its dimensional folding and energy regulation. These particles are inherently volatile near high concentrations of dark matter or anti-matter signatures. Exposure risks a violent disruption of the manifold's dimensional stability, which would cause the entire AFK to catastrophically rupture and disintegrate.
• Paired Calibration Requirement: The operation of the Calabi-Yau manifold relies on precise calibration to maintain its even-dimensional space. This requires highly specialized, proprietary equipment and personnel for initial setup and any major field repairs. Minor misalignments in the paired principal can lead to system instability and power fluctuations.
• Vulnerability of Shared Strength: The greatest strength of the AFK its sustained operational endurance and rapid duplication is also its logistical vulnerability. The AFK is a neutral replicator; it will synthesize systems based on its programming and available blueprints regardless of faction. If an enemy breaches the defensive perimeter and can gain control of the core deployment controls or the replicator's programming, they could potentially use the AFK's unlimited resources to fortify their own position, turning the AFK into a dangerous gift for the opposition.
• Self-Repair Time: While powerful, the self-repair function is a gradual material reconstitution process. Significant damage to the chassis will render the system temporarily immobile or unable to deploy new systems until the material can fully reconstitute, which can take several standard days.

Designed by Miyoung of the Commonwealth and funded by Junko and Shoma. The young and brilliant mind was in charge of their more advanced forms of study and looked towards a combination of science, mystical aspects like the force and most importantly mythology not just from Atrisia's past but also from a number of other areas of the galaxy. With the attack on Atrisia, Miyoung's previous innovations created powerful but singular solutions. The final, logical step was not just to improve each system, but to unify them. The problem remained one of logistics: a soldier can only carry so much. The Aegis Fortification Kit (AFK) is a hyper-compact, all-in-one defensive deployment system. It represents the pinnacle of miniaturization and adaptive defense logistics, allowing a single operative to rapidly deploy a complete, layered defensive stronghold using advanced matter duplication and real-time tactical AI. The AFK is designed to transform any contested area into an impregnable forward operating base within minutes.
