SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • Sword of the Sith: Created akin to many Sith Swords of the past, its an extremely heavy weapon. Requiring to be wielded with two hands in order to provide ample power. However, it is balanced for purposes of general usage. Its not a slab of metal that needs the entirety of a person's strength to wield. Sharpened to hold a forever edge. A mono-molecular edge also allows for superior cutting power compared to other such baseline melee weaponry. Retaining its known abilities to even absorb electrical powers and charge the weapon to become more powerful for follow up attacks. Its a creation of Sith Alchemy to the fullest.
  • Powered to the Extreme: Utilizing the effects of capturing and absorbing electrical or ion based weaponry and force powers, it can empower the weapon to arc lightning from the blade. Potentially shocking or stunning opponents with its abilities. More over, in utilization of the Kohlen Crystal within the energy matrix, it allows the weapon, when powered, to cut cleanly through shield systems that are meant to defend against weapons such as swords or even lightsabers. This also works in conjunction with the Christophsis Crystal in the matrix, as well as the impregnated Sorian Crystaline structure within the blade itself. This can cause massive electrical-kinetic Impacts upon those who are hit. When using the edge, it can allow the weapon to pierce through heavily armored foes, while the flat or face of the blade would release it as more of a wider blast to send a lighter foe flying backwards. Greatly increasing the destructive power of the weapon.
  • Lightning Rod of Power: A side effect of being able to absorb and capture electrical and ion based weaponry or powers means that the weapon can draw any potential threats away from the wielder and into the sword itself. This action is a subtle defensive measure for the wielder to not be struck by such means of attack.
  • Grasp of the Order: In order to make sure that the weapon is not taken from the hands of the wielder, a direct chain is fashioned that can be wrapped around the wielders arm or armor. This can be attached directly to armor, or wrapped around the individual to prevent other force sensitive individuals from taking the weapon, or wrenching it from their hands. Furthermore, the electrical currents through the weapon when powered also go through the length of the chain. Thus any physical manipulation would cause an electrical shock to prevent such tampering.
  • Faith of the Darkness and The Deep: A very ritualistic and religious ideal of Mordred and his species, is that the elders of their community are highly regarded and treated with extreme reverence. Moreover, their "Gods" are not truly godly divine beings, but the collective of his ancestors that he can pray to to provide him strength. As such, utilization of the Blood of the Ancestors Lightsaber Crystal permit him to call upon his ancestors to grant him power and strength. Steeling him to outside influences and empowering him in combat. This provides him with a heightened "Sixth Sense" in the battle to almost be akin to looking at himself from a third person perspective to see and interact with the situation around him to an extreme degree. This sense could be closely related to a clash between Battle Meditation, and Precognition.
  • Netherborne: A weird and unique application of Force Related connection, as well as a direct connection to the Netherworld of the force, means that an ability of the force to suppress the user's connection to the force is much harder to accomplish. Such things as Void-Stone don't hamper much of the connection and Force Nullification can be fought against for a short period of time. This also has other variables of how strong the nullification effect is, and how strong the wielder is compared to it. Some examples would be; An individual uses nullification powers on the weapon/wielder would require much more energy and time to cause effects to affect them. Where as a Nullification that is a powerful nexus or an entire planet would easily nullify such capabilities.
WEAKNESSES
  • Empowered Failings: Due to the ability to absorb and redirect lightning, electrical and ion based attacks towards the blade, this also means allies within close proximity to him would be unable to use those powers or weaponry around him. As it would direct all of what they are doing to the weapon and empowering it instead of causing damage to an enemy. Thus, its better to use other forms of weaponry when the weapon is powered and near him.
  • Mountain's Domain: Due to Mordred's own size and stature, the blade was built for this mountain of a man. The massive size and weight of the blade means its far heavier than even the largest of greatswords meant for a base human to wield. Of course a Force User could enhance their own strength to wield it properly but it prevents most humans from wielding it as the weapon is taller than the average height of humans. This also means the weapon doesn't have a Sheath, or way of storing the weapon other than being attached to Magnetic clamps when the weapon is shut down. Making it difficult to just carry around in every day use.
  • Netherborne: As a weapon that uses a mix of a Netherworld Crystal and Force related Crystals, It can cause the wielder to be affected by negatively by the application and connection to the netherworld. Weapons that are also tied to the Nether or "The Deep" can then cause damage or destroy the weapon. However, due to the application of Forceborne enhancements this means that while it can stave off some nullification effects, it can only be done so for a short time. The longer one is inflicted or in the influence of such a location or ability, the stronger it becomes and would eventually work as intended.
  • Purification: As a Dark Sided application of the force, Sith Alchemy, is used to create the weapon, abilities such as Force Light, and purifying force powers can damage, hamper or destroy the weapon. While it would take much more power to do so because of its connection to the Netherworld, it can still be done.
  • Doors to The Deep: A massive downside to using the Blood of the Ancestors Crystal is that there is a greater than zero percent chance that the ancestors that directly empower the wielder of the weapon, would have the ability to take over the body and even in the worst cases, remove the soul of the wielder from their own body and thusly be taken over by the ancestor's soul. In application of this weapon, each time an ancestor is called upon to aid the wielder, they leave a permanent Tattoo of an emblem that signifies which ancestor it is. This means that each time the ancestor is called, the power over the wielder becomes stronger and stronger to the point of easily allowing the transference of the soul between the two. Thus the ancestor's soul could take over the body of the wielder.
  • Voices of the Deep: Using the weapon again and again, connecting to the ancestors of old, causes the wielder to relive memories of them. One moment they could just be fighting a Jedi on Tython, and the next, they are living through a war that took place eons ago. This change in perspective can cause the wielder to "accidentally" attack and strike at their own allies. As they may see them as an enemy they are reliving memories through. Secondly, this causes a growing sense of insanity by hearing the voices of ancestors, and feeling as though there are multiple of them around the user. Even being influenced by them with these voices becoming a chant of prayer, or just words of luring power and seduction to the Nether or the Deep. This becomes even more prominent the closer to death the wielder is.
  • Living on a Prayer: In order to use the functionality of the weapon to be empowered by the ancestors of old, the wielder must specifically pray and meditate on that aspect. Requiring some time as a "Set up" in order to produce this effect. More specifically, this action is difficult to perform in combat directly. As such, having an ally defend the user as they pray, or being done ahead of time is likely the only chance for this to be implemented.

(All damage, or effects produced by the weapon against an afflicted party, are determined by the writer. Not the submission or user of the weapon. )

DESCRIPTION
Mordred Gravewalker. Like many of his kind, The Nórrmen are a species of Near-Humans who take great pride in combat, and war. More over, tying their sense of honor, duty and combat prowess to their ancestors and elders of the community. Specifically, Mordred is of the Gravewalker Family. One in which takes great pride in their ancestors. Calling upon their name in prayer and chant to empower them in all that they do. Its a fitting nomenclature for his lineage. More over, after the discovery of the "Blood of the Ancients" crystal they have extensively used these artifacts for their own purposes of weaponry, armor and trinkets. Such examples would be a rosary of their denomination of faith. Armor that has the crystal imbeded into it so that the armor can empower and strengthen the wearer. However, Mordred had a different idea.

Utilizing it within a Sith Sword, and his application of the force to reach greater heights of strength and power. Forging a Sith Sword that would be the epitome of his heritage as a Gravewalker as well as a Sith Lord. Tying him closely to what his people call "The Deep." This connection to the Netherworld allows him to directly call upon his ancestors to aid him in combat and conflict. Much more closely and to a higher degree than that of his others. Leaning heavily into his heritage as well, is turning one of their most sacred of weaponry, Powerswords, into a weapon that is a mashing of his past heritage while also being influenced in his faith of the Dark side of the force. This amalgamation of the two was then given a name. One in which can be called upon to fight.

Very cool and powerful weapon.
  • You use absolute wording in a lot of places in the sub, which is not fair to potential opponents, especially since they decide the effects. I would like to ask you to reword such descriptions in the full sub.
  • The Netherworld does not provide protection against Force Nullification/Suppression effects. I'd like to ask you to link an example to this from the canon, how it gives protection against Void-Stone and Force Nullification. If you can't link to one, then I'll have to ask you to delete this from the sub, that isn't how force nullification works
  • Just like in the former case, I would like to ask you to link an example from canon why and how the Netherworld connection grants light side protection to the sword.

Changed some of the wording, and added an ademdum where all damage possibly caused by the weapon is subject to the victim. Listed it under weaknesses.

While there are no canon specific references of resisting the force via a Netherworld connection, It has been done by multiple people, in multiple submissions over the years. While the factory does not work on previous submissions as proof, here is what I am gathering.

  1. The crystal I am using in the submission directly states that it has a connection to the Netherworld. Not a connection to the force. Linked here.
  2. This material that is being used actively, uses the force in a way that the Extremely powerful dark side of the force, CAN be resistant to such abilities as Force Light. Directly stating it can be Immune in some circumstances.
  3. An implant that when grown within the Netherworld of the force, is able to prevent disruption of force nullification Entirely. Where as this sword is only resistant to it.
  4. A drug that acts akin to the Implant that is listed as #3, albeit temporarily instead of as a more permanent basis.

A secondary, is that many who have played characters, Threads, and even netherworld locations state that its uniqueness and application of the force is different from the "material world" or the galaxy. If required, I can also search up those that show that the Site, as many people interpret the Netherworld differently and how it interacts with the force as a whole. There are force powers that can shut down the force, there are objects that can shut down the force, and there are items that have been made to combat that in a sandbox.

Having a resistance, not an immunity, to such things, feels to me like a compromise to the situation as a whole. It feels disingenuous to require a resistance to something, that other submissions in the past, that are still used, or applied can circumnavigate it with an immunity.

I'll be taking over this submission.

I will point out, that as you stated, the Factory does not work on precedence, that means that no matter what submissions or roleplay have gone before, each submission will be judged on its own merits and nothing else.

So, looking at this submission, I love everything about this submission except the matter of it's immunity to Void Stone and force nullifying effects. Looking through the links in the submission the connection to the Nether appears to be based around using spirits of hte ancestors to provide a resource to the wielder, which is also a very cool and interesting effect. However, I don't see any material or crystal which mentions this immunity to disruption. Is there something that I'm missing?

Assuming I'm not then this is going to be my suggested compromise. I personally do not believe that the Netherworld of the Force is a separate entity from the general force, and so any effect which affects the force will also affect the Netherworld. However, I'm not going to go back and grandfather that into past submissions. So, I would suggest you get permission and include the Darksteel as a material in this submission to provide the effect you want.
