Once they entered the outskirts of the village they'd hear the screams.
Whatever it was? It was still happening.
A handful of creatures were caught in the open as they were pushing around some husked corpses by Janick's fire spell. They started to screech -- adding their voice to the noises in the air -- and for a moment it almost seemed as if there were words in those screeches. It was gone as soon as it began, the force-made fire burning through them and killing them within a moment. It was a shame that the screeching had awakened the rest of the village, Sithspawn suddenly swarming out of the buildings and streets towards Janick's small group.
Even still.
The wailing didn't stop on the other side of the village.
Maybe, just maybe, if they worked hard enough they would be able to rescue some of the remaining villagers.

Lips curled into a smile at the veiled rebuke.
It was always amusing to see who reacted how to her sweet words. Some liked it, others were annoyed by it but persevered because they wanted to prove themselves unaffected, then there were a rare few that actively pushed against the trend. Cerbera wondered if Farah would be that for her. "We sit and sip caf together after creating something exceptional, darling." The smile grew brighter and more pronounced. "Knees touching, I don't think we will get any closer than this, no?"
A shift as she sipped from her own caf.
Eyes closed briefly as she felt the sing of fire on her skin.
The shiver was suppressed and Cerbera chuckled. "They are... ending them quite violently it seems." Why that amused her was anyone's question. "You know, I would never have thought of making this into a sellable commodity, I am impressed." If it had been her, she would simply have unleashed the beasts and watched what they did.
Or what was being done to them.
The energy they sucked wouldn't have been all that interesting to her.
