Organic Energy [Outer Rim Coalition and Jedi Praxeum]

Planet: Manas - People: Nasvalo

Dotted through the mountains of Manas are small, insular tribes of native Nasvalo who tend to shun outsiders and keep to themselves. These native folk work hard and value a very traditional way of life, often venturing deep into mountain forests to hunt and into the plains to trade meat and crafts for vegetables and grains.

For several weeks, hunting parties and caravans have gone missing. After searching for a group of huntsman who’d recently disappeared from the Navch tribe, a startling discovery was made in the form of corpses—desiccated husks of men and women who appeared as though the life had been sapped directly from them. The deceased hunters were given a traditional Nasvalo burial and the tribe was left in a state of confusion, sorrow and fear. That night, a pack of strange beasts descended upon the Navch and chaos ensued. The creatures had strange glowing eyes and seemed to be possessed by evil spirits, ripping into anyone and anything they could find with their sharp teeth and claws.

Only one person managed to escape, a young Navch woman who recounted seeing the beasts attack her family. According to her, anyone struck by these creatures would wither and die as if they’d been a corpse in the desert.

Reports of similar attacks have spread like wildfire across the mountains of Manas, going so far as to reach the central government in the modern capital of Sel. Despite the sometimes hostile dealings between the desert and mountain people, Manas has reached out for help with this strange situation

This thread will be DM’d by myself and [member="Cerbera"] and is open to the Outer Rim Coalition and Jedi Praxeum. The evil sith nerd scientists Farah and Cerbera are testing out a type of bacterium that absorbs and stores the energy of living things on the mountain populations of Manas. DM posts will occur every 48-72 hours. Here’s some of the fun stuff you’ll encounter:

tlyK93x.png

Chotgor

Chotgor: Standing at ~1.5m tall, these guys come equipped with sharp teeth, powerful jaws and piercing claws. While absolutely shrill and lacking in stealth, they’re very quick and can easily catch up to a normal human’s sprint. The Chotgor attack in packs, often at night. Their teeth and claws are coated in an energy absorbing bacteria which, upon impact, will sap an organic of their energy. It will take roughly 3-4 instances of contact in order to kill an organic. These beasts have been given a serum that shields them from the effects of the energy absorbing bacteria, however it also causes them to be very fragile. A powerful kick or nearly any weapon is enough to put them out of commission. Also they’re super flammable.

P2naTri.png

Asar-chotgor

Asar-chotgor: By comparison, there are far fewer of these beasties wandering about. Twice as large as your standard Chotgor, these guys are around ~3m tall. While they may move a lot slower than the Chotgor, they are far more resilient and carry the same energy absorbing bacteria on their claws and teeth. They can also spit globs of bacterial saliva up to 7 meters and produce powerful shockwaves by slamming their fists and feet onto the ground. However, they have a near fatal weak spot at the back of their neck.

???: Strange, vaguely humanoid creatures with an eerily dim glow to their skin have been spotted shambling through the forests at night.

There will be two locations for this thread:

The Tenger Tribe: The largest mountain tribe and neighbor of the Navch tribe, the Tenger have had a few of their members go missing recently and fear that an attack may be imminent at nightfall. Help defend the Tenger people and keep civilian casualties as minimal as possible.

The Todor River Valley: Close to where the Navch tribe was situated, Todor Valley has been reported as a central gathering place for the Chotgor as they roam the mountains. Seek them out here and attack them before they can spread to the neighboring tribes.

Location: Tenger Tribe

Nestled on the steppes between two mountains, the people of the Tenger tribe milled about anxiously. Though generally wary and unwelcoming of newcomers, the Nasvalo begrudgingly agreed to allow off-worlders into their village to curb the threat of the terrible night demons—or chotgor, as they have come to name them. Though some believe them to be superstition or even work of their enemies in order to terrorize them into submission, a larger part of the tribe is erring on the side of caution.

As dusk swept into the makeshift village, women herded the children inside hastily constructed huts and animal skin tents while men barricaded their homes and sharpened their weapons. Livestock were penned wherever it was most appropriate, some finding shelter in alcoves or even the homes of their shepherds.

Spacers and Jedi alike were given nervous glances as the village collectively wondered; Is this a good idea?

--

Location: Todor River Valley

As the sun dipped beyond the horizon, shadows seemed to overtake the normally vibrant valley all too quickly. An omen of what was to come, perhaps? Those who ventured into the Todor River Valley would feel the cool breeze against their skin, hear the wind rustle through the trees and the river’s ambient flow.

The Todor Tribe was located further up the southern mountain while several smaller villages were scattered along the river going either way. What remained the most ominous piece was the forest covering the northern mountain. Thick with brush and dangerous wildlife, few ventured into it alone. Even experienced hunting parties could find themselves unlucky heading into the northern Todor mountain.

Yet according to multiple accounts, that was where these creatures came from.

The capital of Manas was as much of a contrast to the mountains as could be. Situated in the middle of the harsh desert with plenty of artificial environment domes to keep things habitable, Sel was as modern as nearly any galactic city. There had been a great push to catch up with the rest of the galaxy, and the result was a city with a unique blend of Nasvalo customs with galactic technology.

“The children seem to be doing well.” Perched at a small table in a mid-district café, Farah and her green skinned companion appeared as two typical off-world women having a light lunch. ‘The children’ were none other than the sithspawn currently wreaking havoc on the mountain people. You couldn’t exactly say “The murderous hellspawn are sapping the life out of a population.” out loud.

She stirred the foam of her latte into the drink idly. Farah liked her caffeine but usually didn’t have time for luxury drinks. This was nice. Almost as nice as what they’d recovered from the sithspawn a few nights ago—the bacteria coating their teeth and claws had been charged almost tenfold. With a little engineering, they could turn this into an efficient source of energy with only a minor moral caveat.

Dearest Kaine brought her in contact with the most interesting individuals.

Farah being one of them, certainly.

A brilliant mind without all those nasty little problems called 'morals' that kept people from gathering their true potential. Slowly Cerbera stirred her caf in a steady motion, while blowing a bit to let the heat die off. A careful sip and the Sith Lord hummed softly in contentment. Then Farah brought up the children and Cerbera smiled brightly over the rim of her caf.

Finally someone who saw their creations in a similar vein as her.

"Oh, darling, they are just getting started." Another sip before she put it down, folding her hands in her lap after crossing one leg after another. Relaxing while feeling the coiling of their children at the back of her mind.

Ripping and tearing.

"But we have certainly outdone ourselves here, here's to us." The cup was raised again in salute and Cerbera took another sip.

"They've given us so much already. [member="Gilamar Skirata"] is worried about the reports he's hearing so I volunteered your help, I know it was presumptious of me but...You're a Jedi and the only experienced land commander we have aboard the Starchild. Do this as a favor for me okay?"

Right. Favor. The ANS Starchild had been docked above Manas for some time now as it underwent repairs. The owner, an old Mandalorian seemed to be in favor of the Alliance and offered aid at his shipyard above the Outer Rim planet; Minerva Colony it was called.. Refits, repairs, refueling...It seemed the old warrior still had deep pockets despite being cut off from his home of Mandalore as he asked for nothing in return but odd jobs here and there.

A few U-Wings landed just outside of the small village the old Mandalorian had mentioned. The side panel door and a few Alliance Troopers tumbled out, putting up a small perimeter around the Tenger Tribe village. He received many a wary glance and noticed several children stare in awe at his Jedi armor and lightsabers dangling from his waist. He waved, but anxious mothers tugged them away back into their huts and homes. One of the troopers was speaking to an older Nasvalo man. The two nodded before the Alliance man sheepishly shrugged and ran back to Turin.

Two U-Wings stayed behind, their repulsor engines hummed in the background. As dusk rolled in and he watched the troopers begin to relax and chatter about how this was all just local superstition the Jedi Battlemaster wondered...

Was this this a good idea?

After a most troubling stay on Odacer-Faustin, where she learned about genetic engineering and Sithspawn, it was a welcome change to be back in ORC space. Janick thus made haste, and her craft, the Shusugaunt Ghost, was thus crossing the galaxy to return to Manas when she heard about the distress call being launched by the local authorities. They say the infestations are centered around two areas: the Tengar Tribe's territory and the Todor River Valley, with the Todor River Valley being, apparently, the center of the infestation. For this reason she would be going for the heart of the infestation. She would be wondering whether Griet would be following her here on Manas; she often seemed to follow her on official ORC duty, and even saved her hide on one occasion, on Shusugaunt. But she knew she couldn't get into the valley proper on her lonesome. And yet, two aircraft out there in the wilderness were dangerous to keep around, so if Griet did come, she would also need an escort of marines to keep the aircraft from being stolen or otherwise damaged by the critters, possibly in a third craft, and hopefully with three of them that can pilot the craft if they needed to scramble to prevent the craft from being stolen.

The Outer Rim Coalition was one of those places that Coren had been, at one point, a leader in. That was back when it was the Underground. And before the Alliance was a thing. The fact that the former government was housing the recently demolished one? That was just a serendipidous occasion. Coren had spent a lot of time assisting the early Coalition and even later on, when he didn’t have a war front to jump to. And now? Well, he was doing what he could to rally Alliance in Exile forces to assist the ones housing them. Add in that they were dealing with their own Sithspawn issue?

Count him in.

Checking out his equipment, he and [member="Mishel Noren"] were scheduled to meet with [member="Julius Sedaire"] and others from the Jedi Prax, and hopefully even some of his Shattered folks. But the Master wasn’t dressed like a Jedi, really, when was he? No, the man had a short moto-style jacket over a dark shirt and his Bloodstripes and boots. Simple, yeah? Power Nine on his hip, MerrSonn 76 across his back, and the lightsaber in his docker’s clutch under his jacket.

Boots hitting the ground from the Princess Leia, Coren grinned at Mishel. “Ready to get to work?” He grinned as he grabbed his rifle.

Cambria had received a message from Jedi Master [member="Coren Starchaser"] that help was needed on the planet of Manas in the Outer Rim Territories to rid the world of a possible Sithspawn problem developing there. Those vile creatures of dark side creation were starting to pop up everywhere. The Twi'lek Guardian had first dealt with them on Byss, then again on Hosian Prime. She really didn't like them, but what was one going to do other than meet them head on. They were no match for common folk so that is why the Jedi would defend these people and save their homeland.

Her timing couldn't have been any better. Having just arrived in-system at the shipyards above Manas and given docking privileges on the Starchild, Cambria quickly jumped aboard one the outgoing U-wings. The blue-skinned Twi'lek was dressed in her combat robes, ready to do battle if need be once they got to the surface. The Guardian's blue-bladed lightsaber and shoto were attached to the utility belt on the left side and a blaster pistol was holstered off to her right. Sheathed in her boot was a Twi'lek warrior dagger.

As soon as the U-wing touched down near the village, Cambria quickly exited the transport. She made her way to over to the Jedi leading this part of the mission seemingly, whom the Jedi Knight had not made acquaintances with yet.

"Master Jedi... " the Rutian Twi'lek nodded with a respectful twitch of her lekku, then a pair of golden orbs were directed upon the man. "I am Knight Cambria Zadira. Master Starchaser has sent me to assist here. What is the plan?"

Ever since Ember met [member="Alm"] and [member="Luca Jisard"] at the Praxeum on Eira Pechal, he had grown curious to their culture and background and aimed to learn more about them in due time. That time came, unfortunately, with grim news. The Nasvalo had turned to the Outer Rim Coalition for help and in turn the news had reached both the Jedi Praxeum and the Alliance-in-Exile which resided currently in ORC space.

The latter explained the appearance of armed security detail in the form of Alliance troopers. That troubled him slightly. Ember disliked the ideas of overreaction and disproportionate responses, something that had plagued the Jedi in recent times. Yet, the magnitude of the thread had not really been established so perhaps the use of soldiers may be eventually justified despite the Jedi Knight's doubts but noticing the troubled and concerned looks of the local tribe, Ember doubted this deployment was a good idea.

He sighed as he turned to those with him ([member="Verana"] & [member="Anais Auraeli"]). "I didn't expect so much...responses." The Jedi Knight admitted shaking his head before he waved away the thoughts and focusing on the task ahead. "You all got your stuff from the ship? There's a few other Jedi here, that I do not know, and we should probably meet." He implied those that arrived with the Alliance-in-Exile.

After Coruscant, this would be the first time Ember braved once more to bring padawans with him. The nightmare during the fall of Coruscant still sent chill down his spines and the piercing ever seeing eyes of [member="Jairus Starvald"] never seemed to escape his back.

She was ready for this. The time for Vera’s first proper encounter with the tougher cases of being a Jedi had been something that was a long time coming. Alden had signed her off on this one under the protection of Ember, and while she understood the risks of this mission she was also taking the precaution to triple check all that she had to bring with her. They were three people, and there would be more when they arrived. Sure, Vera wasn’t very thrilled to find out what they were up against, but she had also already seen rooms of disemboweled men and animals.

In terms of what she had seen, she found it hard to believe anything would get much more horrific than that.

“I have everything.” Vera said and patted her hand against the pack on her belt. “Gas mask, saber, provisions, the basics.”

“Just in case, you know.” She felt her lip twitch as if her attempts to lighten the mood hadn’t really worked, not even on herself. “Do we know what we are up against?”

The Princess Leia was her new home, and as she looked herself over in the mirror of her latrine. Mishel noticed the renewed sun-kissed skin and how her own form seemed healthier, time on Castagne had done her well. A hand through her deep brown locks a quick through with make-up to highlight those fantastic cheekbones and that Kerrigan jawline. Tugging at her blaster vest she pulled her hair up and headed into her cabin. The Tygaran shot a look over at her workbench, her lightsaber remained unassembled and as she grabbed the generic saber of a sentinel she clipped it to her belt and grabbed for her revolver and blaster pistol, she holstered them and headed out for the small armory-in-a-wall. A small personal shield would help she was sure and with that, she was done with the gear.

Mishel descended the ramp and gave Coren a smirk, "ready and always."

It seemed another old man was joining them on the day's adventure, Julius Sedaire now she had heard of him certainly and especially around the Coalition. Mishel got a look over at the rifle that Coren held. "Go big or go home huh?" She gestured to the MerrSonn 76. Boots on the ground the Jedi padawan was ready to go, "anyone else joining us?" Her mind flickered over to [member="Romi Jade"] a moment but that was the only other person she could think of at the moment.

Touching down on a planet like Manas always made Felicity a little uneasy. It was remote and seemed isolationist in a way. Visitors were allowed but met with caution and unwelcoming eyes, and the same went for technology. When landing Stinger-Baby Felicity could feel a sense of burden coming from nearby nasvalo. But it seemed their recent troubles forced them to grin and bear it. Or so it seemed from the briefing she had received from [member="Ember Farseer"] on the way to the planet.

Felicity came off her ship, making sure she had everything she needed, and went off to find Ember and the Padawans he’d brought with him. It didn’t take long to find them as the makeshift village’s streets had mostly emptied; woman and children enclosing themselves indoors and the men barricading them. Felicity walked to her fellow Praxeum Jedi with an open ration pack in hand. “Ugh. Palp Wafers.” She said under breath still breaking one in half and eating it. The taste was unfavorable to say the least, but it had all the nutrients a Jedi on the move needed.

The Jedi Knight cleared her throat as she approached grabbing the attention of her comrades. “My thoughts exactly.” She said supporting Verana’s question. “Ember - Ladies.” She acknowledged with a curtsy. Why? She didn’t know. She wasn’t a woman who generally curtsied.

Turin looked the Twi'lek up and down and nodded in approval. She would do.

"The plan," he started as he walked away from the humming U-Wings and towards the village, "Is to make sure these people get to sleep well tonight. We wait for these...monsters to show up and we move from there. The village's safety is top priority." He looked down at her lightsabers and sighed.

"Hopefully we won't need these and its just some nocturnal predator...But ever since we landed I've felt a great darkness. Be prepared for anything." He didn't want to frighten the young Knight, or any of the villagers or troopers but he knew the stench in the Force. It wasn't just darkness, he'd fought through enough of these creatures to know their pungent odor in the Force. The literal stink of death they leave in their wake. Thousands of his comrades had been killed in the battle of Xal 3 and thousands more on throughout the Galaxy. They were his Sith Empire's favorite weapon of war...

They were dealing with some sort of Sithspawn.

And he prayed to the Force that he was wrong.

It was ironic really that she'd been investigating activity related to Sithspawn, and then there were reports of creatures with similarities rolling in...

She tucked her hands after folding her arms, a stray breeze took her by surprise as it got later and later. "The tension here is so loud..." she was referring to the deafening silence and subtle wave of anxiety plaguing the village. She treaded through her own path carefully.

She stopped somewhere near the outer regions of the village, trying to talk to it's inhabitants wasn't nearly as successful, but that was alright; she was here to help regardless.

Stepping inside what was left of the sun at the time, "Something happened here. They're scared." She turned and looked towards her Padawan.

"Here's a quick lesson..." On she was learning too, "It's obvious. Dusk is coming, and they've grown more anxious every minute since." Over analyzing was natural for some people, digging deeper than they needed for answers. She was a victim of this, but she was learning... "I think we've found a clue already, we'll just have to wait and see. Be mindful of the present." that was her little lesson for the day.

Seems like they'd be finding out pretty soon what was plaguing the natives.

"Alright." She said sighing, "Others should be arriving soon, we should regroup."

She motioned with her head.

There was an old saying that came to mind, as I found myself orbiting the primitive world of Maras. It spoke of those wandering souls, and how not all of them were lost. A part of me had considered it to be fitting, as I had found myself amongst the stars once more after the fateful events that followed the gathering on Centares. There was such hope for something better, but as more and more of those that had shown their faces turned away from the light; I found it difficult to count myself amongst them.

I spent the last few months chasing rumours and righting what wrongs I could whilst the galaxy tore itself apart. The fires of war had spread far too quickly, engulfing one world after another before I had even the chance to consider rushing to their aid. What resistance I could offer was as effective as fighting back the rushing tides with cupped hands and harsh language. There were too many souls crying out for salvation, and I was but a single Jedi.

However, I couldn’t give up hope; even when the Light of Ashla was threatened by the choking miasma brought forth by the Followers of Bogan. If I collapsed under the weight of my duties as a defender of life, and my solemn vows to protect those in need, then what good would I be to those around me?

What good would my plasmatic blade serve, if not swung to safeguard the defenceless?

Shaking my head free from such melancholic thoughts, I slowly pressed my foot down atop the accelerator and forced the engines of my Starfighter to silently growl in reignited protest. The Chronos had been running hot for the last few hours, and while I couldn’t sense what the old Starfighter felt - there was an underlying sense of eagerness to plant our collective feet on solid ground once more.

praxeum_divider_crappy.png
The Tenger Tribe

With the canopy of my Interceptor popping open, I felt my body move of its own volition; tearing at the myriad attachments that bound me into the pilot’s seat and pulling the bulbous helmet free. Without even thinking, I casually tossed the battle-scarred headgear back into the cockpit and vaulted out of its technological embrace. It felt good to have both of my feet on solid earth again, not to mention how pleased I was to drink deep of that crisp mountain air. There was only so much recycled oxygen one could take before their mind began to feel claustrophobic; especially when stuffed into a starfighter for hours - if not days on end.

As the telegraphed instructions had dictated, I found myself nestled on the outskirts of a village rife with makeshift houses; where untold throngs of women were shepherding their young indoors. The men, of those that I could see, were turning their homes into makeshift fortresses or sharpening their weapons - determination to safeguard their families painting their faces. It was something I could admire, despite the underlying abhorrence I felt like the thought of taking another’s life crossed my mind.

Even the foulest of creatures deserved a second chance.

When my eyes had caught sight of others, who clearly didn’t hail from this village due to their conflicting attire and the symbols of our collective order dangling about their belts, I began moving towards them with a warm smile spreading across his weather-beaten lips. Their assembled auras spoke of their purpose here, and that they were to be trusted - well as much as one stranger could trust one another; even with the bonds of a shared religion to place them on common ground.

“I trust I’ve found myself amongst friends,” I said with my smile widening, ever so slightly as my beryl-clad figure moved to join the cadre of Jedi gathered near the centre of the encampment. “As it would be unfortunate to have run afoul of unfriendly faces so far from home.”

“My name is Arcanus Sunstrider, and by the sabre’s I see around your belts, would I be right to assume that all present are Jedi?”

Everything had changed since Coruscant.

Before the Sith Empire enacted their devastating plan to tear the Galactic Alliance in half, Jace was nothing more than a young, innocent figure learning the ways of the Jedi. Afterwards, he had seen war. He had seen a litter of bodies strewn about a crumbling Temple, crushed, sliced, oozing crimson liquid out onto the floor beneath them. It was horrific, but that wasn't the worst of it. The worst came with that Sith, the one who infected his mind and forced his hand- thrusting Jace unwillingly into a place where all his teachings were worth nothing, and he accepted his anger.

Yet, since then he had grown. With the Codex of Tython in his possession, he had an abundance of information at his disposal. Jace had become proficient enough that he was offered a path to take in his teachings, and as such he chose the Guardian. Whilst it may not be favourable with some, he was of the belief that you could only protect by standing in the way.

Now, however, he stood with a keen eye fixated upon his Master. Listening to her words, heeding each one. Ultimately, Khel offered a nod in response, showing his understanding, of course. Then, well, he followed her. His gaze wandering from left to right around the village. Something wasn't quite right, but that was expected wasn't it?

[member="Aten Ramses"] - [member="Romi Jade"]

Arms tucked neatly at the base of his spine Aten followed at the rear of the group right behind Romi and Jace. What had taken place on the world was horrific the news having reached the Morellian’s ears. Of course, he’d come to accompany his master on such a mission. For one it was their duty to provide aid when they could, and despite Aten not voicing it he was more than ready to test his gauntlets on Sithspawn. He’d tested them once on a Sith but now it was time to use them to their full capabilities without holding back. Sithspawn weren’t sentients or ones that deserved mercy, at least not the ones that brought terror to the Nasvalo.

The natives didn’t come too close to any of the off-worlders some whose eyes were filled with disdain for those who had come to their home despite being there to provide aid. Hopefully, they understood that the Jedi weren’t conquerors. They may have cropped up to assist in ridding the Sithspawn it didn’t mean that they’d continue to inhabit the world or claim it as their own. At least there shouldn’t be any Jedi thinking in that way.

“Will we stay here till night falls to ensure their safety or would we be setting out in hopes of halting the creatures?” Either tactic would be viable in this situation depending on how many Jedi were available. With no other words to offer Aten simply stayed silent and would follow her and Jace to regroup with the other Jedi. Jace’s silence wasn’t lost on the Morellian, Aten’s natural curiosity made him want to prod the other padawan to see if he could help. Some things were best left alone if something needed to be said Jace would do so. Ever since he’d begun his training beneath Romi trust had been the most important lesson she’d taught them.

"We need to kill a Sithspawn or two, examine what makes them distinctive as a Sithspawn, fill some stun bombs with an alchemical serum and then drop those bombs where the concentrations are highest"

"Janick, I'm not sure this is going to fly. Just because we have the equipment to carry out that sort of analysis onboard the shuttle doesn't mean we have what it takes to synthesize the alchemical serum" Griet retorted.

"Take cover, keep quiet"

Janick was mostly on her own and didn't venture far from the aircraft, should the need arise to take to the sky to fight those critters, although in the dense woods, airborne means aren't as effective as they are in open terrain. Well, as open a terrain as is possible in a mountain range. Griet knew the easy part was killing the Sithspawn in all this: however, she knew, also armed with the same sniper rifle as Janick had, that it was best to engage Sithspawn at long range, since Sithspawn can usually fight back only at point-blank. Why is it that Sith only seemed to fight at point-blank, ground or space? she thought, while keeping a close watch for any sign of dark-sided Force-signatures that could belong to those Sithspawn the local authorities warned against. And also keeping quiet until the target has been spotted. For now, anyway, the target was perhaps a little far away, the shot was very tricky to make, but also maintaining safe distance was key to fight Sithspawn. Hopefully the medical droid can haul the dead Sithspawn to the shuttle for analysis if it came to that.

Sleep well, huh? From the looks the Jedi were getting, Cambria wasn't quite sure the villagers were feeling relieved they were there. But, hopefully the native population would come to see that the light-sided Force users were present only to defend them from whatever predator had been troubling the tribe to the point they were frightened to death of nightfall.

"Yes, Master," the blue-hued Knight answered the dark-haired Jedi Master, who had yet to introduce himeself. "I have felt it too. I will be ready," the Twi'lek Guardian added with an affirmative nod.

Soon enough, they were joined by more Jedi arriving in the area. Well, whatever had stalked the Tenger Tribe of recent, it would be met with great determination to keep these innocent people safe.

The Valley. It wasn’t going to take much for the Jedi here to handle things correctly. But for Coren it was more than just handling it. He was the Watchman of the Alliance. And that meant he had to get his men and women safe havens around the galaxy. They couldn’t exist aboard starships indefinitely. But that meant doing some foot work. And the General of the Sector Forces was ready for that.

The ship he was using now, having docked his Tachyon Rising on the Spear of the Alliance for safe keeping and private missions, was prepped with everything he needed. Still, it was good to get himself out into the field and handle things personally.

Looking at his student, he shrugged. “I only heard a few reports. But with Alliance types coming in? Gotta make sure we show them they’re safe.” As always, Coren was opting for a ranged approach to a problem. “Got a few calls out. I know Romi is here.” He could feel her. Not as well as he hoped, but well, it worked. She’d hopefully join them after.

“Sedaire is supposed to be bringing a student. But we’ll see who shows up. I wanna get through this valley, if we can, and see that we can’t catch up to the other ships. I think I saw a few other Alliance ships landing.” He knew a few landed elsewhere. “What about you, your friends coming?”

Yeah, he was going to have to deal with that onboard now. The girls, not the mando.
