  • "Nobody - not you, me, or anybody - wants to look like a fool... "

...and Omar makes a good effort to keep his appearance well in check.

One part of working in PSYOPs and specializing in infiltration is that one has to have a certain level of 'modular flexibility' with their appearance and dress. That said, Omar still has a reliable habit when the job doesn't demand he present and cut himself in a certain way. He prefers to be clean-shaven and to keep his hair relatively long.

Apparel shifts but there's some part of him that loves the idea of being a "classic" spy like in movies and cinema. This means he often wears nice suits or tailored 'casual' clothing in dark colors. Of course he is also notably able to fit into almost any sort of apparel like he belongs in it with a practiced mantra that the best way to go unnoticed somewhere is to act like you belonged there the whole time.
  • "The problem with being a social chameleon is making sure something stays real... "

...and keeping it all straight in your mind can become something of a game Omar has learned well.

Have you ever asked a bright-eyed child what they wanted to be when they grew up?

For Omar the answer was unironically to be a secret agent just like his mother and father. He was inspired by what little he knew of their profession and he dreamed of one day being a dashing spy working to save the day and keep the people of the Empire safe from harm. Of course that meant when he found that his doctorate in psychology was deemed of better use to ISB - and later COMPNOR - behind a desk, he was rather deflated and irritated with his superiors.

Of course with the transfer to being a field agent and assigned as retainer to a fellow agent attached to a highly secretive unit, in a way that Omar could never have predicted his dream has come true. He is intensely motivated and a die-hard Imperial loyalist. As far as he's concerned the sun doesn't set through the window of the Imperator's office and if something is done to preserve the New Imperial Order then clearly its something necessary for the greater good.

From moment to moment in his work, however, he strives to keep flexible. Maybe its just a mask or a facade but he works well to maintain them. He has numerous fake personas he has drilled himself to shift through as part of his work. And he would never admit it out loud but he gives credit to the detached nature one has to adopt in psychiatry as one of the reasons for his ease in doing this.
  • "People, especially successful people, are habitual creatures. They're organized. This makes them productive... "

...and maybe, just maybe, that was what took Omar's parents from him.

His mother and father, Eelin Melnau and Jafan Tille, were both long-standing ISB agents and career specialists who only put their careers on hold long enough to welcome Omar into the world before entrusting him to a well-paid family caretaker while they went back to their jobs with just as much vigor and drive as before. It made for a quiet childhood of harshly enforced academics and high expectations.

Perhaps it was made worse by the fact that his parents had the expectation that their only son would follow in their footsteps. He was expected to be above his level academically at all times, to strive physically above the standards of his age, and everything else one could imagine that might make a young boy tear his hair out as he gets older. It was some small miracle that his parents were in his life enough for him to develop... something akin to Battered Child Syndrome.

That made their deaths that much harder for him.

He had achieved his doctorate at the young age of 24 and was already tapped by the ISB as an analyst. The poorest timing in the universe: he had been walking onto his parents property and waving to them as they came down to greet him on their way to their speeder. He had waved to his mother when his father started the speeder - and sent the whole of it up in a ground-shaking blast. It all but obliterated his parents and the speeder, sent shrapnel through the windows, and even buried a searing hot piece of metal to his leg that sent Omar to the ground.

The ISB turned to put him on medical leave to recover, assuring him they would investigate, but insisting that he had to be kept apart from it due to just how close he obviously was. But that attack put a fire in his belly and meant he couldn't sit idly by and wait for his superiors - who didn't seem to be doing anything, as far as he was concerned - so he took off. But quietly. It would be after five months when he failed to respond to any calls from his office or be reported at his apartment that COMPNOR Observation finally picked up clues of the agent in question digging into the attack on his parents and tracking it to a Sith Acolyte who had apparently been tasked with the assassination as a test by their master.

COMPNOR brought him in before he could get himself killed, and all but kidnapped him from the ISB with the request that he come work with them as an analyst to conduct a "more proper" investigation. He lost himself into the work to the point that eventually his recently wed wife realized that the man was too lost to the work to give their relationship the proper attention she wanted. And yet somehow the divorce papers caught him off guard.

His repeated requests for a transfer to a field post didn't yield. Not for the longest time. At least until COMPNOR brought in Daros Karmann and rumors of a "Task Force 66" could be heard in some dark back-channels...

  • "Secrets are like meat; they can be frozen or eaten, but not kept."

An advantage to being affiliated with COMPNOR Observation comes with connections in the intelligence community in a variety of ways. Each of these backgrounds are kept on retainer and have various marks to make them pass a typical background check. Accounts for finances, perhaps a place of residence, and other matters.

Yet if you dig deep enough you might eventually find inconsistencies.

If you dig deeper still, you might get attention...
  • Gido Kale, the Investment Analyst
    Human - 36 years old

Gido is a clean-cut businessman who has worked for several years as a high-risk investment analyst. His repertoire runs in the field of millions of credits, independently contracted to help coordinate the investment plans of both business and the galaxy's richest, and traveling from one place to another to provide his expertise.

Because of this the business-oriented man isn't married and has an apartment that he rarely - if ever - gets to visit.
