Islimore was a beautiful planet from orbit. Had been advertised as a jewel of attractions from every brochure that Fel had gotten her hands on. And it had very well seemed like that when The Brut had dropped them off.
The problems began after Felmorante, and her parasite Kurineth, had figured out who made the rules on the planet.
A group calling themselves the Fayth. Or Faith. Or something like that. It had made Felmorante sneer and Kurineth gag. As much as the immaterial being could do. Ultimately almost making Fel gag at the mental visualization she had to endure from the other being that inhabited her body.
A strange arrangement they had been working on for some time after the incident between the Maw and the Eternal Empire.
An arrangement Fel had originally been against until Kurineth had stabilized the crystal that housed her soul. At the exchange of allowing Kurineth to play parasite on her soul and body. Separate minds, and separate bodily control, both neither existed without the other now.
Or at least for the foreseeable future according to the parasite.
Both silently kept an eye on the humans that tailed them throughout their tour. The wolf droid drawing particular interest it seemed as they tasted local quinine, pilfered through local attire, and even enjoyed a small play that had been put on by citizens.
And all the while feeling the steely gaze of those ingrates from the docks. Angry at the sight of her wolf droid. Eyeing it as though it might spring forward and attack them without prompting.
Which had truly been a tempting idea as Kurineth wound her sliver of shadow around the impudent humans. Pilfering through their surface thoughts like a water skimmer before returning to the shadow below Felmorante.
"There exists fear in their minds at that companion beside you." Kurineth sung in Fel's mind. The smile dropping to a feral grin.
"Distracted by the least dangerous thing around." Felmora growled, low and with a concerning amount of pleasure. Kurineth's only concern the confidence behind the lingering thoughts the pair were privy to.
Even with the few purchases under their arm, it had done nothing to put the Fayth's tail on her at ease. Apparent by their growing proximity as the hours dragged on.
More and more they began to draw nearer to Felmorante. Eyes harsh and pointedly staring as she blatantly ignored their continued existence. It wasn't until the shops started denying her access that she deigned to making them dissappear. A path out of the little town leading towards a wooded area if she remembered correctly.
Something she hadn't seen the locals even glance toward as she skipped in the direction with an all too happy smirk across her face.
Her Fayth tail seemed all the more set on her now. Their steps loud and purposed behind her as she seemed to gain distance from them with each subtle skip. The dark side singing in her legs as the ground began to slide by in her speed. Angry grumbling turned to shouts behind her from the ingrates that meant to stop her.
At first feigning ignorance before the sharp sound of a weapon discharging made her pause.
The snap of a missed shot turning the smile upside down. They'd shot at her?
"I believe you were the one to remind me about minding my temper?" Kurineth's sing song voice chastised her. The wolf droid had easily kept pace, pausing in place a few strides ahead of her to turn and tilt its head in silent question.
"Shooting at someone isn't really something anyone should ignore or be calm about." Felmorante snapped, turning on her heel and whirling about with a disgusted grimace at the handful of humans gathered there.
"You shouldn't ignore us little miss." While trying to be threatening, the slight twitch of a grin appearing beneath her eyes at their breathless state. A handful with their hands on their knees, and a few others breathing hard but still upright.
"Not sorry. My aunty told me to never talk to strangers." She curtsied before making to turn around as Kurineth snickered at the display of disrespect.
"We aren't strangers little miss. We are the Law. And we have some questions for you." Felmorante glanced backwards, placing a finger to her mouth as if in deep thought.
"We are here for sightseeing. And to find the dreamers. Don't forget that." The sing song voice in Fel's mind turning into a sharp cord of displeasure at the turn of events.
