PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Ionized electromagnetic plasma canon
  • Size: Extremely Large
  • Weight: Extremely heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Liquid Infinium 1458 cannister
  • Ammunition Capacity: Average
  • Effective Range: Extreme
  • Rate of Fire: Average
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
  • Recoil: None
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Draws power for it's Ionization from the ship's reactor
  • Carbonite coated barrel lowers friction and prevents overheating
  • Fast Cannister Eject system to prevent jamming while reloading or firing.
  • Has a seperate ZEUS MK II droid core for internal analasys, targeting aid and internal processing
STRENGTHS
  • Ungodly power: Just as the Damocles version of the NZ IEPC, this weapon is extremely powerful, if not more so than it's more readily available stablemate in the weapons' department. Due to the massive heat generation which is so powerful that it is capable of turning Liquid Infinium 1278 into a plasma state, it is capable of a dual sequence explosion causing a primary pressure wave on impact followed by a large ionized electro-magnetic discharge. This has the capacity of dealing massive amounts of damage against any ship or any other object unlucky enough to be in its path. When used on a planet with an atmosphere though, the electrical discharge will be lessened due to most atmospherical compositions draining energy or dispersing it, though the impact of the projectile will still cause considerable damage to any area.
  • Zero Recoil: Because these weapons have been given extremely sturdy chassis and are built into the ship's own skeletal frame, it's recoil has been minimizd to such an extend that it is virtually inexistent.
  • Extreme Range: This weapon is capable of firing off it's projectiles over such a vast distance that it is practically safe to say that it would be capable of firing towards an enemy vessel before that very vessel would've even seen the ship carrying this weapon upon it's own radar and sensors.
WEAKNESSES
  • Cumbersome: Due to it's immense weight and large size, this weapon can't be placed on anything smaller than battlecruisers and Dreadnoughts.
  • Heat Displacement: Precautions must be made against serious excess heat build up, meaning that people are unable to stay close to the weapon after a few volleys of repeated fire unless extra precautions such as heat resistant coating, bodysuits, etc are being used. It also makes the placements of these weapons dangerous targets for enemy fire, as the packed up heat and pressure can result in damaging explosions when hit by especially Ion charged weaponry.
  • Fixed Position: This weapon is only capable of adjusting its angle by a measly 15% and even then still has to content with the angle and direction of the ship upon which it has been placed.
DESCRIPTION
Designed with the capacity of the company's own Repulse ion arc reactor in mind and using the IEPC.4700 Damocles as it's template, the NZ IEPC.8000 "Apollyon was designed with the intention of providing the most sizeable battlecruisers and dreadnoughts with a weapon so powerful and so terrifying that it alone should be enough to make an enemy fleet think twice about engaging. By vastly increasing the expenses on the materials and increasing the size and weight of the original weapon, various improvements could be made on the original design.

Rather than using a fixed durasteel rod, the engineers opted for the extremely heavy Neuranium option, though reducing its enormous weight properties by afixing a counteracting anti-grav unit within the weapon to lower the effects of the extremely heavy metal. Rather than using tibanna gas cannisters, canisters containing Liquid Infinium 1458 would be used, allowing the massive heat and pressure built up within the weapon's loading chamber to force the liquid metal into a plasma state prior to ionization and dispersement of the projectile. The coild through which the excess energy flows has been built out of a magnetized infinium 1278, which due to the constant stream of electricity can maintain its shape. To contain the massive amounts of heat and energy, the internals of the IEPC.8000 were crafted from Duralium and agrinium, but also Ersteel 12231 to firmly contain the generated energy and to prevent structural warping or any heat or radiation leaking.

To further protect the weapon, it is designed with an on-board, built in seperate deflector shield, much as a hyperdrive would be made due to the internal, near gravity warping energy, heat and density of the combined materials and amunition. A ZEUS Mk II droid core is implanted within each of these weapons seperately as a safety mechnism and to allow for internal analasys, damage reports, emergency shut downs, etc and thus vastly increasing the safety of use for this weapon.

With the first production tests showing promising results, it seems that the IEPC.8000 is most likely to be reckoned as one of, if not the most powerful and destructive weapon in its respective class. Not by it's overal damage ratings, but due to the severe impact the dual combination of outright impact force and the secondary discharge could wrought upon enemy ships or even planetary locations such as cities or fortified bases.

John Locke John Locke The Infinium 1458 as you may find in the given link, is a mix with Neuranium, so my thought was that if a very to extremely heavy object (in this case the ionized, superheated infinium) would traverse space at speeds far greater than sound (not sure if it would be lightspeed, but kk), it's mass+acceleration could be potentially gravity warping

Infinium 1458 only contains 1% Neuranium as per your submission and according to the wookie article on Neuranium, "Neuranium was so dense that some gravity-sensitive species noted its warping of the space-time fabric of gravity itself that a large piece created."

It requires a large piece of Neuranium to warp gravity, and it appears that isn't present in the Infinium 1458, not to the level to warp gravity at least.
