"I got stranded on Eadu after chasing pirates. Then I heard this call through the Force." She continued forward, twisting and tucking under jagged spirals.

"The Bendu reached out...and I trained under it for months. After I stepped down, I returned to Eadu to seek guidance on what was next and he directed me here." She summed up the story only to attempt to mock the voice of the entity himself

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: Jedi Master Romi Jade
  • Publisher: Self
  • Reception: These are thoughts, observations, experiences, and lessons that Romi has learned over time. She decided to muse and document in her private time with the intention of it helping those who wanted to learn more about a very rare, and esoteric Force skill to master, even for the most experienced Jedi Masters. It's a piece of a larger book she is writing. It's not widely known or available anywhere else for there to be tons of reception. Beyond the pages she authored and spare memory crystal she keeps, this is flying under the radar.

FORMAT INFORMATION
To be included in a larger book Romi is authoring, this reads from left to right on two pages. Handwritten notes and marks that outline her experiences and her reflections on them, along with pointers, and tips for the studier. The information contained in the crystal could only be accessed when placed in a holocron which, in turn, could only be opened with the Force. Once opened, the three-dimensional appearance and cognitive networks of Master Jade, that could sense the ability and level of a Jedi, would appear to begin explaining her personal, and continuous journey towards learning Bendu Warding.

CONTENT INFORMATION
These pages are lined with notes and scribbles from Romi Jade:
  • "I've only heard of one other Force-user to use this skill. Could be more, I'm not sure..." -- a drawn line to the name, encircled -- Ijaat Mereel - There was a note next to his name: "To track him down."

  • "It seems like, in the arcane numerology of the Bendu monks, the number nine represents the beneficent presence of the Force in a unitary Galaxy. Eight, of course, is the number of spokes you can visibly see in the "Bendu Wheel" -- I think it most likely symbolizing the totality of life encompassed by the unbroken, self-feeding circle of the Force? I'm leaning towards that. And zero? A zero value could represent either the inevitability of life's end and re-absorption into the currents of the Force or the mutual cancellation of the negative and positive values of the Light and Dark sides."

  • "The double repetition of each number - (99) - could signify the conflicted duality of the Force's nature in Jedi teaching. From this interpretation, '99' is the eternal cycle of Bogan and Ashla, '88' is mostly likely the life, both good and evil, generated thereby. '00' though...is the ultimate annihilation of these oppositely polarized qualities. Double repetition seems to increase power."

  • "Multiplication of any two numbers seems to combine their effects, sometimes with surprising results. When three is multiplied with four it causes one of the most stable and flexible numbers; change balanced by stability; constancy within change."

  • "Prime numbers seem to be the main source of new primary effects, and as such much effort has gone into finding a pattern for both determining new prime numbers, as well as determining the effects of primes."

  • "It's highly important to note that some numbers have more power than others. Obviously. Those I've cracked:"
    • 1, The singularity. It represents the source from which all other things flow. It is the heart of creation.
    • 2, The insanity. Perhaps among the most controversial of numbers, the power of two seems to have three unique effects: speed manipulation, material weight, and the flow of time. In addition to having such a surplus of effects their discord present additional difficulties.
    • 3, The Balance. Sometimes called the tripod, or the stabilizer, one of the most strict and unbending of numbers. This number can be mixed with others to provided a stabilizing effect on otherwise contentious numbers.
    • 4, The Foundational. It is a building block for greater numbers, and as a square of 2, contains many of its properties. It has connection to weight, time, and the perception of time passing. Additionally, it is the square of 2 making it a far more powerful form of 2, not that the power of two is all that well known.
    • 6, The Parallel. It represents the existence of other worlds, and their connection to this one.
    • 8, The instability. It represents destruction and chaos. The cube of two it contains all the insanity brought to an even higher power
    • 12, The confluence. It represents the ability to flow things together. For this reason, on maps the number 12 is often use to mark unnamed tributaries.
    • 13, has been a dead end. Its meaning has either never been found, or erased from existence.

  • "Hopefully...I'll be able to crack more of this..."

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Order of Dai Bendu, also known as the Bendu, was one of the many ancient and semi-legendary organizations that studied the Force and the midi-chlorians in the Early Hyperspace Age, prior to the birth of the Galactic Republic on Coruscant. The monks were known for teaching non-confrontational principles, with the notable exception of commercialism, but also Numerology, the study of the occult significance of numbers, was also used and developed by the Bendu monks.

In the 850's (ABY), Romi Jade's was promoted to Grand Master as only a Knight, a testament to her skill and ability at that point in her career, but also a point in her history that brought all of her insecurities to the surface. She abdicated the role, and took an indefinite sabbatical where she ended up on Eadu. On Eadu, Romi encountered the Bendu, a Force-entity that claimed to represent the center of the Force. While his instruction would unlock her propensity for Battle Meditation and later Force Harmony, he also briefly trained her in Bendu Warding -- a skill line that would elude her for many years.

Notably, it was the skill she used to reconstruct and recalibrate the Force Artifact: The Crown of Verity

It wasn't until recently that she decided to document and record her personal history, experiences, and new discoveries. Becoming Headmaster of an Enclave and then a Praxeum, and a bunch of near-death experiences made her want to author some sort of tome and record data for her Holocron one day. The tome once complete will be used to teach the next generations.
