Not Naked & Maybe Afraid [CIS Dominion of Rishi | Z-47]

He'd decidedly not drank from the water, and simply said to Madalena "You're welcome". When they were about to start walking again, he heard Madalena scream 'STAMPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDE! to the trees! Up! Climb! Now!!!' then, as they were climbing he stayed on the ground, by a dug out hole in the ground, big enough to hold him and maybe another smaller person, covered by a large rock, he watched as everybody climbed, then, threw himself down into the dug out hole, sheltered completely from the stampede and watched the others climb up, ready to jump out and risk himself to help people.

The Stars To Embers hovered over the fortress, battle droids amassed outside ready to either accept the surrender of the remaining Dark Akh or to finish them off so that they would never harm another living soul again. Edren and OOM-255 were already waiting for him on the lowered elevator up to the ship. The dark and brooding figure he’d picked up seemed to be intending to join him aboard his ship, at least until they picked up the rest of the surviving kidnapped command personnel.

“Mind your step, it’s a fair way up.” Vildarn said as the elevator was quite full of tanks and droids returning to the ship.

He felt that he’d done good on his first mission, despite a few unexpected surprises everything had gone as good as one could have hoped, he just needed to get to the survivors before they were lost to the jungle.

The flight to the other side of the planet was quite fast, he hadn’t bothered returning to the command bridge since he wanted to personally be the one to welcome the survivors aboard, of course he was being optimistic. The jungle was extremely thick and it was evident that the planet had been mostly untouched in its existence. Word was other ships in the fleet were also on the way to rescue the survivors, he had a number of droids ready to go.

“We’ve detected a stampede down below, it is probable that is the location of the survivors.” Brook said over his commlink.

“Take us over their position slowly, we’ll lower the elevator most of the way and pull the survivors up by rappels if necessary.”

The large Munificent Star Frigate hovered over the location of the survivors blocking out the moonlight and stars. The elevator then began its descent towards the jungle tree tops.

OBJECTIVE: 1

Most them celebrated, but celebration did not ring true in Ka. She was nothing more than painfully aggravated with herself, she had been so utterly useless and it drove her mad: skills were proving to ring in simple nothingness. Chastising herself mentally she walked silence till the next bit of insanity decided to grace them.

Breaking her silence with a mighty bout of Huttese swearing, Ka wasted little time getting herself up to higher ground. Well...all she could do now was wait there.

And be useless.

"You do realise I am a Dark Lord of the Sith in a full battle suit of Mandalorian Iron and Cortosis, who is extremely powerful with the force, right? I would face no trouble if I missed my step or tripped." When he got aboard the ship, he went nowhere, he waited by the elevator had come up on, looking at his armour, which had faint scratches and marks from fights where the suit had been abused by multiple sabers or blaster shots, thus weakening it in the moment, and leaving the scars and marks on it. His cloak was pointless at this point, so he shrugged it off of him, exposing his full battle armour and helmet.
He had a large length of Cortosis rope attached to a serrated Cortosis blade, the blade attached to his chest, the rope attached to his back,, both of his sabers were on his belt, the pauldrons added to his intimidation factor, making him look more menacing. He then pressed a button, doing a systems check on the suit, passing the time till they got to the survivors.

When the elevator started lowering, he gracefully dropped down onto it's lowering surface, with a sound somewhere between a thud and a clang, not sounding too far off from a droid assassin, like General Grievous from the old CIS. He waited, his hands clasped together behind his back, as the elevator lowered down to the survivors, he was itching for a fight, he knew the survivors were likely alright, even amidst all the force energy on Rishi, dark and light, he felt the death of the Terentatek through the force. He pressed a button on his gauntlet, activating the voice modifier, making his voice sound like a powerful dark side spirit, with a bit of a cackle, but modified so it sounded like he was a cyborg. He readied himself to force pull people up onto the platform, or fight off deadly creatures.

The Message
Callisa had just received a communication message from inside the Dark Akh fortress, "This is Gerwald Lechner... I am picking up life signs thirty kilometers north of this location. They seem to register as ours. Need a pilot to check this out, possible rescue." this was part of her objective and her ship was perfect for it. "This is GC-2, I am moving towards the extraction point." she replied. With this in mind she moved away from the cannons on the shuttle and headed for the controls. She took off from the Dark Akh location and sent her ship towards the survivors in hope of spotting them...

The Extraction
Once Callisa had reached the location specified on the message. She could just make out the outlines of people.. on top of trees? This wasn't good, she thought, this would probably mean there's something on the ground that they were trying to escape from. With this in mind, she brought the ship down to the trees and lowered the ramp so those stuck could embark..

Once all survivors were on the ship she would take them back up to command in orbit and there, her mission will finish...

The Fortress of the Dark Akh had been successfully infiltrated by the Knights Obsidian who took the cult members out. Upon finding the communications terminal, the various groups of Confederates that had been tossed into the wilderness were located and extracted. Their Force-blocking collars were successfully removed upon their return to the CIS capital, Geonosis. The names of those found in the wilderness have been updated, names sent directly to their next of kin and loved ones, to let them know that they were safe and sound.
The meeting with Rishi’s governor has also been successful, the planet added to the space under the Confederate’s protection.
While Rishi is now part of Confederate space, parts of the planet are still up and open for pirates and criminals, and will take some time for the CIS to sort through in order to bring true peace to the planet.

With the orbit finally secure and the first landing craft descending upon the planet to recover the survivors, some were celebrating and cheering, glad to simply be alive. But for Darth Tacitus, the time for celebration had not yet come. Before that, he had a lot of work to do.

There were only two explanations for how this whole incident had happened. The kidnappers should not have been able to abduct so many Confederate officials without someone figuring out what they were planning long before their scheme was set in motion.

There had to be a security breach, somewhere. Either there was a traitor within Confederate ranks, or someone wasn't giving his job due diligence. Either way, there would be an investigation and punishment would be handed out proportional to guilt. Tacitus would personally make sure of that.

He'd had his collar removed, it was of no significance to him, knowing the allies of the Governor, the collar would come off easily, one way or another. He'd been provided quarters aboard the 'Star to Embers' Munificent, at the behest of Viceroy Kenway of Ord Pardron, nothing out of the ordinary, he was the Military Marshal of the Ord Pardron Militia, and he'd just gotten back from being captured. Why he had been captured instead of the Viceroy was up to mere speculation, his speculation was that it was to strike at the Viceroy mentally, not physically. He was about to make a call to the Viceroy when a dark figure walked in the room, the holocom was forced out of his hand, and he stood up, the figures introduced themselves, the figure as the superior of the Military Marshal, and the Military Marshal as he was. They talked for a while, before the figure left, and the Munificent was due to make a pass by Ord Pardron, he'd then take a shuttle provided by the Viceroy to the Government building, until then, he made a call to the Viceroy, he was told his loved ones and kin would be told of his rescue, though he had none, it was a harsh reminder of who he was, one that was needed.

Lirka has remained mind-numbingly quiet for the return trip and for practically the whole day. She was fuming even after being freed from all this, she had been denied vengeance today: regardless she’d be trying to see these little cultists once she was back on Geonosis, punishments aside. They would suffer.

And of course, she needed to work on that whole self-preservation nonsense by the look of it. Time to get more bold, stupidly bold.

Saved. They were all saved. Madalena was sitting in the extraction ship, knees pulled up to her chin, arms wrapped around her legs. It would be a little bit before the collars were removed. They’d nearly had to see if they could’ve survived the stampede when their saviors had suddenly shown up. In a few minutes she had managed to gather bits and pieces of what had happened; a cult, kidnapped, the KO taking care of it, the planet being liberated by the Confederacy.

The entire group of people she had been with was alive. Some of them were injured, but they were alive. Dianah had learned that she could turn her skin into diamonds. Her love was with her. Rhou was also save, despite his injuries. Same for Trevethe and the elf lady.

And still, she could not shake the feeling off that at least in part, they had failed. The ink decorations on her arm served her as a reminder of that. Thank the Force it was not a tattoo and instead would wash off. But the instructions had been clear; eight miles. They had made it through the first one, maybe. She wasn’t completely sure about that. They had to be saved rather than find out what the gold pot looked like at the end the rainbow.

But they were all alive. They were going to see other days.

And she already knew she would be returning to Rishi in the not too distant future. Part of the Confederacy or not, there were parts of it that she was going to light on fire.

The events passed like a blur. One minute Rhoujen was hefting himself onto the tree using the servos of his cybernetic arm more than his muscles in an attempt to mitigate strain on his ribs, the next a rescue ship chased off the oncoming stampede and Confederacy troops and droids alike ushered the group into the vessel. They were briefed on everything that happened, and Treiades felt some nagging in the back of his mind about this Dark Akh. While this sect of their religion may have been mostly exterminated, he had a plan developing in his mind. Perhaps this Akh could be manipulated.

Perhaps it was time to get some practice with the old ways of manipulation. As the engineers worked to remove the nullification collar, he asked to hold onto it as a 'souvenir'. In reality, he had a nice lab on Doldur that he could get to reverse-engineer the trinket. For... reasons.

Dianah desperately wanted to hug Jaron. Her heart was racing in her rib cage and pumping blood around her body so fast the sound of it in her ears drowned out everything else. For a second she was so wrapped up in her success she very nearly pulled him into an embrace when he backed away. Luckily her diamond skin caught the sun, flashing a blinding streak of light into her eyes. Dianah withdrew her arm and took a quick step back, settling for a smile in his direction instead. A hug would come later, once she'd completely rid herself her diamond flesh. After all the excitement it had grown extraordinarily heavy and she was beginning to feel rather weak. The process of changing back would be a long one, she could feel it in her bones... or what would be her bones eventually.

When the frantic thumping of her heart had slowed enough for her to concentrate Dianah set her thoughts on Madalena. After her celebratory outburst words were lost on her but she definitely had enough energy to fangirl with Maddy about the fact that she was mostly diamond. Instead of Madalena herself, Dianah's eyes met with the back of Trevethe as he carried her through the tree line. Moments later her voice sounded out, alerting the group of their find. Moving felt more slow than it had been in the frantic moments that had just passed. Each step was like trying to drag the weight of two grown men behind her, at least the stiffness in her fingers was beginning to release.

The pool of water looked cool and inviting. All caution was thrown out of the window when she sank herself down to take a refreshing sip. By the time they'd all had their fill and were preparing to move out again Dianah's progress in her shift had crept along slowly. Parts of her extremities were covered in her caramel colored skin that was bubbling gently against the diamond surface, inching along bit by bit. Nothing was on her mind save for the effort it was taking and the sustaining water that had given her the motivation to carry on.

She was just about to inquire how Madalena was doing when a second earthquake erupted, even more violent and aggressive than the first. The fact that she had managed to climb up the tree in time was sheer luck. She would have described it as a miracle but it paled in comparison to what happened next. A ship swooped down from the clouds to rescue them, Dianah nearly sobbed at the sight of it.

Once aboard she flopped down heavily into a seat next to Jaron. Since she was mostly flesh now she entwined her hand in his and rested her head against his shoulder. The collar around her neck was still highly irritating and exhaustion was quickly setting in. Dianah stifled a yawn and settled herself against Jaron. There was only one thing on her mind now.

'I'm so karking hungry.'

And so his first mission ever came to a close. They hoisted the survivors up from the trees and prepared to escort the tired officials back to wherever they wished to go. “All hands, congratulations on our first successful mission, you’ve all made me proud.”

The truth was the sooner these officials were off his ship the better, he didn’t want any issues. The droids he’d lost would soon be easily replaced and perhaps he’d even pick up something special for his sentient crew members. Perhaps they even deserved some shore leave after everything they had been through.
