Only took me about five and a half years but I've finally reached the milestone that is 3,000 whole posts. Kinda crazy to me, actually, especially as I've only just returned from a several month long absence. But it's a big one, and it's basically tradition around here to post a feedback thread on these occasions. So, what better time for another one. I'd love to know what people think of Amani as a character, and myself as a writer. She's been around for a while and had her ups and downs, but there's no denying she's been my number one main through and through.
I've taken the liberty of linking a few threads that I think either highlight moments of importance, or simply moments that I enjoyed writing, and encourage you to read through some of these examples if you're interested. The extra fluff is just my personal reflections:
A Day in the Life - One of my older threads, a series of flashback vignettes from Amani's early years as a Jedi student alongside one of her friends. The stories at play were well-coordinated between myself and Centin's writer, and when you're on the same wavelength it can lead to some really cohesive writings.
A Matter of Perspective - One of Amani's early arcs had her foolishly trying to learn more about the dark side 'for the greater good'. The arc itself ended up being pretty stunted and not all that engaging imo, but there were a few interesting moments to be had, including this one with Adrian Vandiir.
Secret of the Promised Land - An old SJO Dominion of Taris. Not particularly important, but I just remember really enjoying some of the interactions from that thread, so I thought I'd include it.
Same As It Ever Was - Amani's resurfacing after she cut herself off from the Force and left the Jedi in self-imposed exile. Also my first thread after my first long LOA from Chaos, so it felt like a new chapter for us both.
Reconnecting - Amani seeks to regain her place among the Jedi with the help of
Valery Noble
. Felt like another new chapter for the character after a bit of stagnancy.
Shatterpoint - Attempted annihilation of Tython. A big fight against Amani's then nemesis
Surea
, with help from
Kai Bamarri
. Big event not just for me but for the site. Pretty sure it was this thread that won Amani character of the month way back when, so clearly it was worth something right?
Long Shifts - Amani's first one-on-one thread with
Alicio Organa
. They would eventually marry. A great romance arc with a great writer. These two are such a good pairing.
A New Journey - An NJO training thread. Another one that's not very important, but it included some nice character interactions that I enjoyed writing.
Starbird Rising - Amani becomes a member of the NJO Council as Chief Healer. One of my biggest achievements with the character. Felt good to be recognized after 2+ years of writing. Also includes some drama with
Alicio Organa
and
Inanna Harth
lol.
Legacies - A nice thread with Amani and Alicio, including some of my own personal world building for Mirial, which I enjoyed crafting.
A Temple of Ghosts - A cool mission thread with Amani and
Maeve Linahan
, a great writer who I wish was still on the site. Another instance where I felt like myself and the other poster were just on the same wavelength.
Final Eclipse - The annihilation of Exegol. Amani's final bout with
Surea
.
Dreams of Our Generation - A solo thread filling in some of Amani's time away from the Jedi, and building up to the creation of my pet project: The Vonnuvi Jedi Enclave.
The Journey of A Thousand Miles - Amani becomes a Jedi Master. Another big stepping stone for the character.
The Hapan Crisis - Amani joins a delegation during a time of turmoil on Hapes, and ends up killing the Queen
