Fear inspires Folly.

In the beginning, Mechis III did not devote itself to the art of war. Though its surface was littered with foundries, the droids it formerly produced were mostly civilian in nature. Ever since emerging from the Darkness, the distant world found that there was a fortune to be made in exporting all sorts of inexpensive automatons. And thus, their world knew prosperity. Clients from all about the Outer Rim poured their credits into the planet - and for a time Mechis III flourished. Monumental cities and modern comforts became commonplace; and it soon became rare for the average native to struggle.

Yet the threat of decimation brought a darkness over the world. Their proximity to the former imperial warmachine: the First Order, made the skills something to be desired. On one fateful day, a single shuttle descended upon the most notable foundry. And in but mere moments, the fate of Mechis III changed. They would put the whole of their efforts towards supporting the First Imperial warmachine. They would research new technologies to aide in the combating of their numerous foes - or they would be destroyed.

With their futures hanging in the balance, the people of Mechis III agreed. And so rose the GUARDIANS. Inspired by the annals of history, Mechis III sought to create monstrosities of enormous size to trample the enemy underfoot. War Droids, humanoid in nature, were quickly produced and stockpiled in the name of the distant empire. Most were the as tall as a starfighter is long...yet others rivaled literal buildings in stature. The greatest of their weapons, dubbed PURGATORIO, was one such unit...which stood taller than every skyscraper in their capital metropolis.

And once the GUARDIANS had been completed, Mechis III waited. And waited. And waited.

They had hoped that the First Order would collect their boon and resume their battles, leaving them in peace. However. Word eventually reached their ears that the empire had been dealt a mortal blow. At a glance, they were free. Free to resume their lives - and now, they had the means to protect themselves from any nation or any entity conscripting them again. But before they could so much as begin to reprogram the GUARDIANS to obey their word, and not the empire's, yet another shuttle sliced through their atmosphere.

Yet another Imperial - [member="Asphyxion Ren"] - changed the course of their future. He arrived demanding that which was due to the First Order, claiming that their "agreement" was very much alive and active. That the pain of decimation awaited them, should the GUARDIANS not be turned over to his forces. In the interests of self-preservation, the foundries of course agreed, and the Warlord was given as many of the GUARDIANS as his wounded armada could ferry. That left behind a mere skeleton force - and PURGATORIO - in the possession of the natives.

But the Master of Ren was not about to allow his newfound boon to fall into the hands of his adversaries. After the events on Arkam, he knew just how quickly the Confederacy arrived to influence the worlds on their borders. He knew that, if he allowed them, they would dismantle these remaining units and pick apart their every strength and weakness. They would render them useless to his aspirations. Therefore, they had to be addressed. Asphyxion gathered together those who had the keys to controlling the iron beasts within the capital's primary foundry. And in one fell swoop, executed them all.

From within the confines of the primary foundry, a signal then erupted into being. The droids activated. PURGATORIO rose to its full height. And the peace of Mechis City was shattered evermore. The War Droids turned against their makers. Turned against one another. And lit the city ablaze with their battle. And PURGATORIO itself was the apex of the mighty storm. It smashed its way through the City until it arrived before the primary foundry - as if to stand guard over the signal. All attempts to enter or escape were met with being trambled, blasted, or ripped apart.

Satisfied, Asphyxion made his departure from Mechis III - confident that, by the time the Confederates arrived to clean up the mess, there would hardly be any Mechis City left.

Spoiler: Objectives

Frenzied distress calls have lit up the Confederate channels - those who have managed to cry out for help are doing so as loudly as possible. Upon reaching Mechis City, the site of the ongoing devastation, a sordid reality has made itself apparent. The most obvious solutions to the problem at hand simply are not an option for this battle. With civilians fleeing for their lives in the streets, bombarding the largest droids would simply cause harm than good. And, with hospitals and vital buildings yet clinging to power, to strike the city with EMP weaponry would only condemn thousands to die. Thus, Confederate forces have personally begun to land within the hellscape in the hopes of putting down the Inferno.​

Dexter Memorial Starport is the primary method of transit to and from Mechis City. Most offworlders take their first steps off of a shuttle located here, in fact. And, as the inferno claims the city and the War Droids close in, Dexter Memorial is the closest thing to a defensible position that the city has. The civilians have fled there en masse, hoping to get on any of the shuttles still on the ground. The Confederate duty is to aide in seeing this effort to fruition. Outside the starport gates is a literal warzone. Mammoth War Droids open fire wildly at the fleeing survivors before turning against one another immediately. Inside the starport is just as sorry a situation. The wounded have been huddled together and the Starport's first aid stations have been raided in fruitless attempts to stop the dying. Your efforts begin here. Will you face down the warzone outside the gates? Will you bring a helping hand to those who have fallen? Will you usher those who are able onto the shuttles flying in and out as quickly as posible? The choice is yours!​

Foundry SERO was once the chief production facility of Mechis III. Yet, in the present moments, it has found itself the victim of its own creation. Prior to leaving, Asphyxion Ren saw fit to put the whole facility on lockdown. Blast doors and automated defenses await those who are bold enough to breach the foundry in the hopes of ending the nightmare. Yet, the largest obstacle between the Confederate forces and ceasing the signal is PURGATORIO itself. As the hours roll by, it has plucked gunships out of the sky and hurled them to the ground. It has stomped and unleashed fire upon every ground team that has attempted entry. In short, literal Hell stands between you and salvation? Will you be the one to fell this monstrosity? Will you find a way to breach the facility despite its presence? Your battle begins here!​

Holy nerfballs. That was the first thought that came to High Marshal Kiff Brayde's mind as he reviewed the absolute mess that called itself Mechis III. In his time as a naval officer in the Confederacy, he thought he had seen everything. Giant worms on Eshan, shape-shifting canines on Bestine IV, and more types of weapons and ships than he could remember. Yet it seem that the galaxy was bent on surprising Kiff with something new, and so far it hadn't failed. Mechis III was no exception.

Intel had said that some sort of colossal war droid was literally swatting shuttles out of the sky. Purgatorio, they called it, some sort of wild creation headed on by the First Order and Asphyxion Ren. Ever since that slippery and shadowy character had escaped from Arkam, a new issue would develop with his name all over it. It was some sort of perverted dance, the First Order bringing destruction and death to worlds and the Confederacy (and in particular Kiff, who's position as High Marshal of the Miranda Armada basically meant that these broken worlds came into the CIS under his authority). The focus of the Miranda Armada had almost entiredly shifted from an offensive force to one that could both repel invaders and protect there own. In the events since Eshan and Arkam, Kiff had been sure to purchase more medical frigates and carriers in the event of a planetary evacuation. Luckily for him, it seemed that his foresight had finally done him some good.

Kiff now stood at the bridge of the Resilience, a Lucrehulk II-class battleship that the High Marshal had requisitioned for this mission. Normally Kiff would never travel into hostile territory without the raw firepower of the Victator to back him up, but this time there were no forces in orbit that required vaporizing. Instead, what was unfolding was perhaps a humanitarian crisis on a scale that Kiff hadn't seen since his days as a mere Captain. Along those lines, massive amounts of carriers to land and evac refugees on the planet had been brought in, as well as medical frigates to treat those who desperately needed medical care. Nest-class cruisers had also been brought in, to fill the sky with CIS fighters who could take down these juggernauts from a safe distance. Sigma-class Heavy Cruisers were called in for the same matter, to act as a fighting force against the unhinged war droids wrecking havoc on Mechis III.

The entire force descended through the planets atmosphere towards the Dexter Memorial Starport. Intelligence and briefings had suggested that the bulk of the planet's refugees had holed up in the massive spaceport, and it was the only site big enough for the Diamond Mk II cruisers to land without getting a hole punched through by the massive war machines. As the carriers landed, they dispelled troops and armor to take to the perimeter of the starport and defend it against encroaching war droids. The massive size of the CIS forces -- droid against droid in this inferno -- had a massive morale boost in tow for the Mechis citizens, as announcements for citizens to board aboard the now empty carriers were broadcasted across the entire spaceport. As citizens gratefully boarded the transports, Sigma-class Heavy Assault Ships escorted by Vulture droid fighters and Hyena-class bombers caused a rousing cheer among the citizens of Mechis. Their savior was here.

FLEET ACTIONS:

• Diamond Mk II Cruisers are landing troops & armor in the Dexter Memorial Starport. Said troops and armor are currently forming an unbreakable perimeter around the starport to fend off hostile war droids, while emptied cruisers are loading citizens to evacuate them from the planet.
• Nest-class cruisers and the CNS Resilience have discharged fighter and bomber squadrons, which are targeting war droid positions and larger juggernauts.
• Sigma-class Heavy Assault Dropships are landing droids at strategic points to break up the forces of the hostile war droids. Undercarriage armaments are bombarding war droids and juggernauts alike.
• Comfort-class Medical Frigates are receiving injured Mechis citizens for treatment in orbit above the planet.

High Marshall Cypher Rage was a bit annoyed. Perhaps because as a Military Official and head of the Core Armada it was becoming an issue having that stupid annoying little brat of a REN Asphyxion Ren constaly running around and making a mess of things. Ever since Arkam 13 he had been flying around the galaxy and causing destuction all in the name of the First Order. He should have had that transport carryimg him oblitirated when he had the chance and yet here we are now. The CNS Assurance was a Providnce II class assult carrier nothing like the Invincible. This panet was an absoulute mess and yet the First Order dosen't even admit that there own Protecter was the one who made it. Now it was his turn to clean up a mess and then make the First Order into a Mess. Period

[Ardasz Verd]

Technically, it wasn't their fight.

The Confederacy had done them a kindness, to be certain, in allowing the ragtag Mandalorians sanctuary from the regime that controlled Manda'yaim, but it was less a favor than a means of denying power to a potential enemy state. The less Mando'ade who rallied to the Infernal's call, the less dangerous her warmachine truly was. And that should have been the end of it.

That was before he got word of the titanic Purgatorio. Ardasz was a Mandalorian toolmaker. His life's work was taking all manner of weapons tech and putting it to use- so anything he could find from the massive machine could be made to serve the Crusade. He doubted anyone who's life he protected in the process would be too interested in denying him that much.

They dropped in from afar, already aware of the collateral damage born of flying too closely. The behemoth had snatched fly-bys out of the sky and sent pilots screaming, plummeting to their deaths. Its armor was thick, and even the most high output blasters seemed to glance harmlessly off. Ardasz watched the battle rage for a good five minutes from the drop zone, bidding [member="Haastal Verd"] and the rest of his vode all too eager to join combat be patient.

"Find, exploit," he instructed slowly so that they could follow to the letter. "You will be faced with enemies who are superior in number and with abilities you do not understand. Your only advantage is your mind, and your arsenal. You have the ability to make things work for you, and against your enemy."

It was good to get the chance to show them now, before they had to fight against Forcies. Battles against Forcies could be unforgiving. However, that same thing could be said of any battle.

He just hoped they were all listening to him this time.

Scherezade's Blood Hound abilities were going crazy. It was another weaker point that she was learning as her powers continued to expand and develop. At first it had been learning that she was more susceptible to Force Light than her peers in the darkside. Now… More blood did not mean more information. If anything, it had become somewhat of a hindrance; too much bloody noise (pun intended) made it harder to keep everything else in check. And Mechis City was a blood bath now. Civilians were running, blood was flowing, and Scherezade wrinkled her nose in the attempt to keep all her senses operational in the smell of it.

They had landed far away, seeing the gigantic mechanical monster do its damage. Ships in its close proximity were useless. Anyone caught beneath its foot was as good as a squashed bug. Whatever its hull was made of, it was clear that normal weapons did little to nothing to it. In short, was a Big Boss, and the Confederacy was quickly losing numbers to it.

Glowing green eyes squinted as she stared at it. She did not like this. Not at all.

Looking over at her mission partner Scherezade paused. Daisy, the only friend she had who was a girl. Coming back had been… Both terrifying and weird, and the two had not had sufficient time yet to spend quality time together what with the crazy weeks that were happening to Scherezade and her sister upon the return. But they were here again, mission buddies again. Almost as if nothing had changed. With Daisy's avoidance of getting actually trained in the Force, things had very little changed on that front. Scherezade made a note to get her friend into a brawl later just so she could drive the point home; a Force User could not afford to remain so completely untrained in it, even if she was more than battle gifted in many other ways.

"How big do you suppose that ugly thing is?" she asked. They were a good distance away; unless the Big Boss started walking towards them, they could stay there for pretty much forever, relatively unharmed. Was he even operated from the inside? From the out? "Think we can pull an Antman-butthole move on him and destroy him from within?"

The time has come...

Over a year in the works, perfecting this prototype.Tweaking it meticulously, and more work was to be done after gaining his own shard to share a mind with. He needed a way to transfer not only his mind temporarily, but the physically move the shard into the project. It stood at the same height as a rancor. With long limbs and a relatively small main body. All accompanied by a massive vibro-sword for the machine to handle.

Once he managed to transfer the essence of Jelz over to it the droid body really did become STaCLO's magnum-opus. A massive machine of war that could use the force and be a part of the ever growing silicon hive mind filled STaCLO with joy and pride in himself.

Behold, The Jabberwocky!

Flying over the planet in orbit on his old hammerhead corvette a whole escape pod was converted as a way to quickly transport the Droid Body to a planets service as a mini-WMD. Setting himself in a server room within the ship to remotely control the mechanized extension of his own body, Jelz was placed within The Jabberwocky, and Dute at the bridge of the vessel, readying the pod for a remote launch. Everything was ready, the world beneath had been set ablaze, the enemy was a population of awol droids, and there was people that needed saving. Not wanting to waste anymore time STaCLO gave the signal to Dute after connecting himself to Jelz and the Jabberwocky.

Days like this make you wonder.

As Achilles strode up beside [member="Ardasz Verd"] he could not help but whitle out at the behemoth before them. He glanced over at the Mandalorian before shrugging his shoulders. Ardasz had suggested they take the route of stealth for the time being. The man chuckled a bit before shaking his head at the beast before him. "I only have three thermal detonators. I think I'd need about...three hundred to take that thing down. Maybe some Ion grenades too." The helmet that had formed around Achilles head receded back into his armor as he looked over the lands with a curious expression.

"So blasters are damn near useless, we don't have ordinance, and we can't just level the land around it. What the hell do we do?" He asked, but rather than wait for a response the man tapped the heel of his boots together. He had repaired his rocket boots since their last mission and now they were back in working order. He glanced over to Ardasz, gesturing to the Purgatorio that stood guard over the foundry. "Look we aren't getting anything done just sitting here. Any ideas?" Achilles pulled the blaster rifle from his back, gazing down at the scope that was on top of it. Haastal had been an expert marksman, so now Achilles was working on improving his own skills with a long rifle. Though, when he looked up at the beast before him he was not so sure it would help much.

It was official. His posting as High Marshall Of the Core Armada was not yet confirmed. Neither was [member="Kiff Brayde"]'s appointment. Well it truly didn't matter. He still was in a high position. " Commander hail the 'Redemption'"
" [member="Kiff Brayde"], I have some bad news regarding our respective Armadas and you may want to sit down for this." he said through the holotransmiter. He was pissed. They risked thier lives everyday for the Confederacy and yet a stupid promotion isn't going through yet.

Objective: Defeat Metal Gear Giant Bipedal Tanks

The sky was a black as space during the decent, only lightened up by the flames of war and energy weapons from the colossal beasts below, a planet, fully engulfed in war and chaos, everything an enemy, nowhere to run no sides to take. It was effectively a battle royal of titans, playing over a helpless den of ants that just got brushed aside by the massive war machines, a terrible sight to behold and one that would leave scars forever. Come a few thousand years and this day would probably still be stuck in the memories of this world, hopefully it would be a reminder to never go down such a path ever again.

Another shudder rocked Kuernai's pod as it streaked towards the ground, the danger of being swatted out for the sky by one of those massive bipedal machines was to great to make a landing in drop ships. As such she had personally decided to go with the a supersonic approach in a modified drop pod fitted with boosters to rocked it's payload faster into the ground. Over all her chances of living had probably not changed, but at the very least she'd make it ground side, she just needed to time her chute at the right time. Easier said then done, to early and she'd wind up a sitting duck for enemy fire, to late and it would be a really really rough landing, the mental clock in her mind ticking down the second best she could.

Her breath was held until the time came, her heart skipping a bit as the button was pressed, the boosters shutting off and a sudden jerk enveloping her body, threatening to break her legs from it's shear force as the chute came out. The last few second before touch down felt like an hour, wondering if one of the giant beasts had decided to aim at her, fortunately nothing happened, in time a just as rough landing shook the pod before the door unceremoniously shot off. All in all 7/10, could have gone better but she was alive and the thing had done it's job... now came the hard part, defending the remaining civilians and taking down as many of those metal beast as possible.

Taking cover behind one of the many piles of rubble she opened her com link up to a certain robot force user, static engulfing the channel before things cleared up. "Staclo, I've landed, whats your current position over".

The Mandalorian was...excited.

As the dropship bearing he and his brethren to the battle made its long orbit about the city, Isley was greeted to the sight of PURGATORIO. The monumental titan of iron and electricity reminded the warrior of hunts past. Of facing down things that were far greater, far larger, and far stronger all in the name of glory. In years past, the Mandalorian prided himself on going after the biggest kill he can - and in doing so bringing much praise to the name of Clan Verd. This day would be no different. However, the glory would not be his alone. Nor would it be reserved solely for the budding family that he had managed to reclaim. No, this day, he would see to it that all glory went to the Crusade. That this beast would fall to their Hunt and their prowess.

When the dropship settled down upon the charred earth, Isley disembarked in tandem with the warriors of the Crusade. In particular, his Shadows were more than a few paces away from him at all times - and stood to his right and left as he joined them all on the ground. [member="Safira Varad"] and [member="Nya"] had been exposed to many stories of many hunts. But those tales always revolved around beasts or cunning bounties. There was not a tale he had that was remotely close to the Titan which stood before them now. However. They would write one together. Nerves were certainly going to play a part in the performance of his companions, and thus, before striding over to where Ardasz and Hastaal were making their observations...he paused.

"Saf'ika. Nya'ika. Focus and stay close. I won't let you die."

With his vow in the open air, he joined his brothers who were observing the monstrosity. He came in just in time to hear Hastaal's observation, that long range shots wouldn't be much use. And that standing about wouldn't be much help either. To this, Isley folded his arms and scanned the environment with his HUD, attempting to get a feel for what was at their disposal. To date, the Confederacy had throw heaps of jetpack-driven droids at the creature, but their assaults hadn't made so much a dent in the armor. However. They did last longer than most of the slower ships and vehicles, as they could zip out of the way of its flailing arms. "There's bound to be a soft spot." he began. "My guess is, the joints are less armored than the rest of it. That way it can, just like us and our beskar'gam. What if..."

He blinked thrice, bidding his rangefinder to lower and to magnify his vision. Sure enough, a glance told him that the Titan's limbs were a hair less unarmored than the rest of it. He then raised his voice a little, so that those aside from the adjacent Crusaders could hear his tentative plan. "We send in those jetpack droids first. A swarm. Get in its face like a pack of flies. If it starts swatting them, we can come in low and get some detonators on a joint. I'm thinking we go for its leg, try and make it fall."

"And once it hits the ground, our Obsidian friends can handle turning off the facility while we put this beast to sleep. What say you all?"

If they had a more sound plan, he'd jump on it like Safira or Nya onto a mug of tea. However, they had to make a decision and execute. Fast. Time was not their ally this day.

"Unless that bad news is that your armada has turned on us, keep the channels clear, Cypher. We're in a warzone, if you haven't noticed." Of course, it was easy for a new blood like him to forget the gravity of the situation from a cozy chair on a ship far above the fighting. As Voph ducked from an exploding chunk of building, he found himself wishing that he'd chosen to lead from the chair as well. But, such was not the case. Purgatorio wasn't the most advanced droid he'd ever fought, but it was certainly the closest to a Machine God he'd seen since the old days.

Voph's lightsabers ignited again. He stood up, and sprinted towards the main foundry, carving through droid after droid on his way there. Lightning and metal flew in equal measure as Voph made his advance towards the droid. He didn't know if they could take it down by the means at hand, but He knew one thing. They had to get that signal turned off. And the droid would shoot at anything that came near the foundry, right? So all they needed was a small window. Voph paused around the corner of a building. It was a straight shot from here. This wasn't...stupid, right? Of course not. He just had to make sure [member="Prennis Keeoli"] never found out about it. "All ground forces, I'm going to draw the droid's fire. Radio when you're in position and I'll engage. Get inside that foundry, whatever it takes."

The little family she had stumbled upon sure were big on risking life and limb. The young Force user had followed the pair into the thick of battle several times now, and both Isley and Safira had made it clear to her that their expectation was this particular aspect of their life was going to continue. Nya could appreciate the need for a few credits to ensure that the comfortable life they had managed to create with the three of them could continue, but as their dropship landed and the ramp extended to allow them to step down onto the flaming horror that had erupted on Mechis, the blonde began to wonder at how long they'd get to enjoy that small bubble of home they'd created if they seemed intent on throwing themselves into battles like this.

As Isley turned to the pair to express his intent to keep them both alive, it fell upon deaf ears. Eyes were locked on the mechanical titan that was rampaging its way through the city - and she found her interest in promises waning quickly. When the Mando turned and hurried to attend to the others of their clan gathered ahead to confer about battle tactics, Nya turned her head slowly to Safira at her side. Her hand rose to gently brush fingers across the other woman's gauntlets, unable to keep the worry from her eyes. Her worry, her weakness, would not be welcome here - but she couldn't stop herself from reaching for her companion regardless.

Her voice came low, sure it wouldn't carry across the ash filled air to the men ahead as they discussed their plan of attack, "Hey... Don't let these bucket heads get you hurt, alright?" She turned then and forced a smile onto her lips, putting a brave face on for the sable skinned beauty's benefit. "I trust that he won't let you fall - but if you come back to me beaten and bruised I won't thank you for it, you understand?" Her fingers gave the fingers she'd managed to snatch up a quick squeeze before she stepped forward and closed the distance between them, wrapping an arm around the other woman's shoulders and pulling her into a fierce, though brief, embrace. As she pulled back she gently bumped her forehead against the other woman's, letting her eyes closed a moment before she took a deep breath, catching a hint of Saf's scent over the smoke that made the air thick.

Eventually she pried herself away and released the Mandolorian all together, giving her another of those tight lipped smiles and letting her hurry off if she chose. She'd been chosen by a pair of warriors, and though a part of her sung at the thought of joining them, her talents didn't extend to life endangering aerial combat against mecha titans... If she was going to be of use to her companions, she was going to need to figure out where her strengths lay - and in a right hurry.

If the scorching mechanical inferno that was Mechis III was about as close as one could get to the Gates of Haran while still breathing, then Alar Shysa was shouldering the burden of toiling the fabled and final bell. The rifle in her possession red hot from quick successive rounds, her hands a blur as she chambered, racked and lined up another target. Barely even registering the recoil anymore as she dropped one robotic monstrosity after the next. Only pausing in her unending task to reload and, if she was feeling particularly generous, grab a stolen mouthful of water from her dwindling canteen.

And yet the kill bots kept coming. Lured in shambling mechanical mass by the civilians that continued to stream through the broken, war torn streets. Another world, another side of the conflict, she might have admired the way they herded the populace into killzones, cutting them with a ruthless efficiency that appealed to her Mandalorian sensibilities. Unfortunately, working with the Confederacy placed them on the wrong side of this conflict. Giving them the fool's errand of snatching lives from the murderous droids.

“<<This is Y’ivra, in the South Tower.>>” The kiffar chimed, pressing the microphone at her throat with her free hand to open up the broadcast to the emergency evacuation channel. Her helmet long since placed to the side in favor of breathing oxygen that wasn’t recycled twenty times over. Her scope zeroed in on the latest posse of about thirty or forty civilians trying to make a break for the starport. “<<We’re getting a lot civilians coming in hot from the surrounding areas. We’re clearing the pursuers as fast as we can from here, but folks are going to start bottlenecking at the entrances if we don’t speed the evac up.>>”

As soon as that happened, they were the proverbial fish in the barrel. Just add one heavy round of ordinance. And if that big motherkarker decided to take an interest, well...

Kiff frowned as the message from. . . Cypher Rage played out. Kiff had never heard of the man, but apparently he said that he was supposed to be High Marshal of the Core Armada. Or, at least, he thought he was. "Commander Jol, isn't the High Marshal of the Core Armada Alden Akaran, not whoever Cypher Rage is?" He asked, not very much concerned. The Vicelord had personally appointed him as High Marshal of the Miranda Armada, and with all the ship moving he'd been doing, someone would've spoken up by now if his position was incorrect.

"You are correct, sir. It appears that Cypher Rage comes up as a Major in Naval Command," Jol said as he typed a few numbers into the console, reading the information off of the screen. Kiff shrugged. This confused Major probably should head over to Geonosis to get his ranks sorted out before taking part in anymore action. "Tell Major Rage that I appreciate his concern, but my position is overall secure. There are more pressing matters at the moment." Jol nodded and relayed the information to comm-scan, while Kiff Brayde turned to the holotable in the center of the circular Lucrehulk bridge. It was a layout that was relatively unfamiliar to Kiff, more akin to the older Trade Federation designs than the new Valiant lines. It was simple enough to get the grasp of, which was good.

The projection that the holotable was displaying at the moment was a scaled image of the Dexter Memorial Starport, some ship capturing live footage as Diamond Mk II carriers discharged troops and loaded up civilians. If he looked out the window, he could see the first of the carriers attaching a travel bridge to the Comfort-class medical frigates to load the injured refugees for medical care. Everything was working as he planned, but he felt an itch for action. A want for dust under his boots and ozone in his nostrils.

"Commander, I think I'll head down for some sight seeing. Maybe destroy a few juggernauts in the process," Kiff said decisevely as he pulled on a pair of battle-worn leather gloves, holstering his pistol as he threw on a long naval overcoat, something that offered a little more protection than his High Marshal uniform. Jol rolled his eyes and gave a sigh in an exasperated, paternal way and gestured towards the door. "I assume you'll take a squad of BX Commandos with you?"

Kiff smiled, before extending his hand in a farewell handshake. "You know me so well." Jol shook it, the older, greying man drawing up to his full height, almost a half foot above Kiff. Although he may be powerful, Kiff was definitely on the shorter side. "Good luck, High Marshal." Kiff nodded before fastening his officer's cap to his head and heading towards the door. "Oh, and make sure nothing goes wrong while I'm away, Commander," he said over his shoulder before he left the bridge.

The shuttle bore Kiff to the ground along with a squad of BX Commando droids, there to provide a bit of muscle in case the High Marshal encountered a bunch of unfriendlies. The shuttle landed at the perimeter of the droid forces Kiff had landed at the starport, a large avenue-sort-of clearing filled with barricades, columns of droids and AAT tanks. Orders were still being given as squads moved out and artillery was placed in defensive positions -- the renegade war droids had not reached the starport yet, but they werer getting closer. The shuttle touched down in the middle of the field, Kiff exiting with twelve commando droids behind him. As they walked a droid officer greeted them, giving a stiff salute before raising his datapad. "High Marshal, we have squads up and down the perimeter, but encroaching War Droids mean that stray fire could potentially hit non-combatants."

Kiff frowned. There were still a lot of civilians holed up in the starport, and the carriers could only move so fast. Even one stray rocket hitting the building could result in dozens of casualties and far more injuries. It seemed that they would have to take the fight to the war droids. "Captain, prepare the column to move out, with infantry in the front and armor in the rear. Advance by block and hold your ground when you reach the War Droid line. I will be moving throughout the city with my attachment identifying the bigger juggernauts for our bombers to target, but do not hesitate to use aerial strikes if you deem it necessary."

The droid officer beeped its affirmation before wordlessly relaying the command to thousands of droids throughout the Confederacy line. Kiff almost laughed at the irony of what seemed to be the only two armies in the galaxy made primarily of droids duking it out on this chaos of a planet. Composing himself, he drew his BAW-55 heavy blaster pistol, grabbing the barrel with his free hand as he nodded for his commando droids to follow. It was time to beat up some baddies.

FLEET ACTIONS:

• Diamond Mk II carriers are continuing to evacuate citizens from the Dexter Memorial Starport. Injured civilians are being shuttled to various Comfort-class Medical Frigates in high orbit.
• High Marshal Kiff Brayde has transferred command of the CNS Resilience to Commander Victor Jol (NPC) for the duration that the High Marshal is participating in the ground battle.

Recently, Allya's own nature had helped make an already tense situation worse than it should have been. She hadn't been alone in that situation. Jedi masters, Jedi associates like her, they had all done their part to bring the situation to a head. Frankly, there had been no way out of that one. However, it had hit her in the soul. For the first time in her life Allya was beginning to second guess herself, to get nervous about fighting. However, as she sat in the Scimitar-2, Allya just relaxed into the pilot's chair. There wasn't time for self doubt, or second guessing. Everything she did could blow up in her face, but there was always a single action that assured failure: Not trying in the first place.

As the Scimitar hit atmosphere, the ship shook violently. She was taking it a bit faster than it would like, however, again, time was not on their side. Allya knew her brother-father-clone thing had been here. And once more, she was here to clean up the messes he had attempted to make. Droids, lots of them. One particular one seemed to be causing the most trouble. If there was anything she knew, it was droids.

Dataspikes, EMP grenades, a massive shoulder launched Ion cannon, the Equalizer. Unlike last time, she understood the enemy, and had time to prepare. Not a lot of time, but enough to pack up a lot of goodies from the Angelic Fury which loomed overhead. Droid Fighter escorts flew along with her. She would try and see if they were fast enough to annoy the massive target.

They hit ground far from the target, due to the fact it had been swatting ships out of the sky like flies. Allya grabbed her gear, and gave a command to her troopers. “Get as many of the people to safety as you can. I'm only taking a few droids to help.” Eight Clankers, and a squadron of droid fighters along with herself are what she had to work with. It would have to be enough.

Rather than in her standard beskar'gam, Allya chose to wear a different armor. One designed for speed, mobility, stealth and trickery. Her newest set wasn't completed yet, and as such, this one was the better choice. Heavy metal plates or not, one hit from the droid and it was all over. Trickery was what would save her life this day.


With the ion cannon on her shoulder, her goods on her belt, droids next to her, and fighters overhead, Allya marched out to meet the metal monstrosity. She had to do this, to prove she could still fight. For herself if nothing else.

It took little time for her to meet up with Voph and his forces. For the moment, she used her scanners to analyze, to search for a way to get close to this thing without getting squashed, for a place to target that would allow this ion cannon to get through if possible. Maybe the ECM could confuse it enough to get closer. If she could make a breach in its armor and insert the data spikes as well....there were options, and almost all of them were suicide. Strangely, that didn't bother her this time.

Just before the custom pod reached the ground it blasted itself apart as the massive droid body was able to survive the fall almost on its own. The pod was to protect it from entering the atmosphere. Large metal legs stomped onto the ground, The Jabberwocky had made a touch down. Instantly STaCLO ran a system's diagnostics on the machines systems to learn if any difficulties had arrived after the fall, but everything was perfectly fine.

After taking a few steps STaCLO got a call from his mentor, they'd landed at the same time with the same objective. "Miss Yumi, I have landed without difficulties. According to the planets local GPS system, I'm a couple blocks away from Dexter Memorial Starport, if you'd like I can join you or we could meet near the starport, over." He replied, The Jabberwocky's voice as comically deep in his new temporary body.

Just then one of the Guardian droids stepped into view down the street. STaCLO pulled out his own massive vibro blade that came with the large mechanical body, and approached the other huge droid. As it spotted him it spoke. "Hostile droid detected."

However, before the enemy droid could make a move, STaCLO sliced it in have with his powerful blade, then crushed the upper half that had fallen with his leg. Despite being about 4 times larger then his normal body, The Jabberwocky was surprisingly fast. After all he did design it to be able to not only combat Force users, but to best them in a duel.

Ardasz laughed aloud. "Ain't gonna be firepower that brings this one down," he replied plainly. "Isley has team of his own, and there are other Confederate Forces en route. Why do you think we're boots on the ground, Haas'ika?"

It wasn't a question most sane people would enjoy the answer to. Anyone who had spent any amount of time with Ardasz knew sanity wasn't his prerogative. He took one last, long drag from the cigarra clenched between his teeth before spitting it out. He pulled his buy'ce overhead and it flared to life, spitting out proximity alerts and danger notices born of various outbreaks of violence in the immediate area. He focused his attention on the massive machine. Isley spoke up about the plan, and Ardasz cracked his neck thoughtfully.

"Same plan as ever for my part, tat," he called over to Isley in the textbook mechanical melancholy that offset the humor in his voice. "Run and gun, draw fire, keep the heat off you kids." There were plenty of droids already in the combat zone to spread the love around, and he had to account for Haastal's crash course in Mando-training. "You pulled the lucky straw, kid. You're with Uncle Ardasz."

He hopped out over cover and began to sprint, albeit much slower than someone of similar size. Priming shields, he gestured for the other man to move in time with him and coordinate their approach via comms.

That made things easier for Isley. He only had to watch the other two, and to find some way to bring the pain. His job, and by extension, the new kid's- was to stay alive. He couldn't wait to find out how hard that this thing could stomp on him. Readying his flamethrower, he made a suggestion. "Want to bring the heat?"

Daisy had been mostly quiet throughout the trip. The last few months had been spent doing some serious self-reflection on Haseria. The Mandalorian Protectors was a fine gig, but, it wasn’t what it once was. Her family had grown a little distant in light of the revelations that most of her siblings didn’t have the same father she did. The young woman didn’t hold it against anyone, or her mama, but now that the truth was out? Things were different. Changed.

In the same vein, throughout all of this, she’d been seeing a ghost for the longest time. At least that’s what she thought it was. A spirit. Or, she was losing her mind. It wouldn’t surprise her. She was tainted with the hocus pocus Jedi magic that her ancestors rightly said poo-poo too. It left her withdrawn. Distant. The most fun she’d actually had was getting three-sheets to the wind drugged with [member="Madalena Antares"] and [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] on Thaere Privo awhile back. But, after that?

Nothing but farming, working in the Sierra Blanca, and minding her own.

Then—Something amazing happened. Scherezade came back. And Madalena, somehow, now existed too. Her mind was too addled to wrap around exactly how that had happened but all she could do was stand by and be grateful. Out of all the horrible things that happened in the last year or so it was the one thing that kept her from becoming a hermit in a swamp somewhere. She had thought that she’d accepted, that one day, Mads would be gone. It broke her heart…But to now have both?

Those had been the most common tags she left on the comm messages that she sent her girlfriends. Even if they couldn’t spend a lot of time together. Along with #PartyTimeMoonshine, #HoneyChild, and #BlessYourHeart. She included them, most of the time, in everything. They were her best friends. As close as family. Sometimes, the only parts of her family, that were actually speaking to each other.

She still got misty eyed and weepy just thinking about the whole thing. Finally, things were looking up.

In light of that she had agreed to meet up with Scherezade to do some of the good work. The sight of this world, Mechis III, hurt her whole heart. Everything was on fire with some killer bots and one extra big robot. Sweet tea and biscuits. Did the Confederacy even make them that big on purpose? “Giant. By kad where do you think that one sleeps? Under a bridge, like a troll, ah reckon?”

“That’s no chicken walker.”

It was a throwback to their glory days when they’d run a muck on Manda together. Stealing and controlling a little AT-ST had nothing on this. They seemed to be walking into another group while they surveyed the situation. The Crusaders? Daisy was glad her purple T-Visor hid her expression. This was the group that would likely replace the Protectors in the grand scheme of things. She didn’t know what to think of them yet.

She extra didn’t know what to think when the boss man, or, at least the one that walked and talked like boss man began to give out assignments. [member="Voph"] called in that he was going to try and distract the beast and Daisy glanced at Scherezade. ...Would she follow orders from a stranger? Even if it was a good idea? Ha ha…

There was beauty in destruction, in devastation. Scherezade watched it all, the glow of her eyes beaming with excitement as she beheld the gaze of the not-a-mech tearing the town apart. Under different circumstances, she'd have wanted to slap a mini skit on it and gone for bar hopping on Nar Shaddaa with the rest of the Honey Boo's, if they still existed at all. But that was not going to happen. The Confederacy, instead of attempting to hack it to shut it down (at least as far as she was aware of), preferred to take it down by force. And the Confederacy had people like Scherezade who were more than happy to apply said force.

Grinning at her partner in crime, [member="Daisy Americus"], Scherezade liked to imagine that her blonde bestie was smiling back. Those T-visor things hid her face so completely, and Scherezade was more used to having people around her who did not conceal their faces. Maybe there was an entire philosophy of war behind it, who knew. But with the onslaught of lovely hashtags that regularly decorated her commdevice thanks to the best person the Americus clan had to offer, assuming that Daisy was smiling back seemed like a pretty sure bet.

As the two joked about the not-a-mech, Scherezade was ready to launch forward, when she realized that someone was speaking to her. Turning her head, she only now noticed the group of Mandalorians she'd never seen before, and one of them was… Giving orders?

Glowing green eyes squinted as she stared at him. It took more focus than she wanted to admit to catch his scent and- the Vicelord?! It smelled like just him – like Darth Metus. She had never been told of any other name he might have held, never knew him as anything but his title and Darth name and the annoyance of hearing others refer to him as master. But the scent, the scent could not be questioned. It was him. And yet... He spoke differently, felt differently.

Confused, the Blood Hound scanned him with her device. Isely Verd? That was a name she had not heard… Ever. She knew that Verd was the previous name of the Vi'dreya and… Now she looked at him in shock. Darth Metus would have never spoke to her that way, especially not in front of people. But this Isely Verd… Who had a new name… Who was using an alternative yet accepted last name that spoke of times which she could only assume were happier…

It was exactly like the time she'd used Madalena, without knowing what she'd actually done. Scherezade had thought that she was creating a person out of a set of falsified memories, leaving them within the Confederacy, slapping her other parent's last name on her… And how she was judged for it. The Viceroy and the exarch were one on the matter, weren't they?

And now… Darth Metus had done exactly the same?! Including changing the deets in the datafiles?! MOTHERKRAKKER!

"I have a much better idea," she said with a cocky grin. "How about you tuna cans go to the facility, and me and my friend here hit that not-a-mech?"

Without waiting for a reply, Scherezade motioned for Daisy to follow her, and off they went, running and jumping between all the laser pew pew and incoming flying cars and ships that the not-a-mech was throwing about.

Pausing for a moment, Scherezade closed her eyes and concentrated. She might not be able to get enough information by the blood that was so readily available now, but she knew a thing or two about droids, and there were more than enough of those around them. The five that were closest to her and Daisy combusted one after the other, and Scherezade jumped to Daisy, casting a Force Bubble over both of them to protect them from the flying shrapnel.

"You know how old people break hip bones?" she asked her friend as she caught her breath, preparing for another spring to get closer to the not-a-mech, "let's break his! If we can't ant-man his butthole we can go total amputee on him instead!"

The Jedi Knight floated frequently between Confederate and Silver Jedi space. Why? It was silly, perhaps, but the Droid-Loving and Jedi-Tolerant Sith held the monopoly on her home world and a few others locations that held significance. There were also some people that she had grown quite fond of. Good friends, good people, and things that no matter how dark the days became, just like Kashyyyk, always provided hope. That was the one commodity that the galaxy seemed to be sorely lacking.

It was easy to why when things were like this. Mechis III was a disaster zone. So much so, that en route, she had reached out to one of her dearest friends to see if the Silver Jedi might be able recommend a few people that might be able to lend a hand. It was even worse on the ground than the initial reports had suggested. The only saving grace revolved around the nature of the enemy. It was small, so small, that it wouldn’t comfort anyone—but the perpetrators were not flesh and blood. At lease they wouldn’t be adding bodies to the pile. They could fight, protect, and draw on their better angels to keep as many people safe as possible.

Gianna had settled for trying to corral the civilians into evac-ships at the star port while keeping an eye out for the two Silvers that were supposed to come in and aid the effort. It was the place she felt she could help out the most, at least, for now. She was a little worried about her companions. Both [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] and [member="Jerek Morrows"] came highly recommended and she didn’t want either to get lost in the fray. It was pure chaos. One of the scariest things that had given her pause, true pause, was the sight of a massive robotic automaton that was being passed around on the data pads that were still working.

It was the biggest robot she had ever seen. The biggest, most evil looking thing, she had ever laid eyes on.

A message came across the comms from [the South Tower] and Gianna scrambled to put down the medical supplies she’d been carrying. A lot of the noncombatants that came through were hurt, some worse than others, and she’d been doing her best to triage whomever she could before the ships hit capacity. Once everyone was docked, someone else would need to take over, and she moved on to the next area. Rinse and repeat. “We hear you Y’ivra [[member="Alar Shysa"]] at South Tower. We’ll get them through faster and I’ll…I’ll ask for reinforcements. Please—Try and give us as much time as you can.”

From whom exactly? She had been given a few frequencies to reach out to but everything felt jumbled. The empathy that she carried for those around her, more or less, made it so that she had a front row seat to every emotion that flooded through Dexter Memorial Starport.

Everyone was stretched thin. Some of the people in the first aid stations just weren’t ready to be moved yet. The flame-haired Jedi, covered in soot, and the occasional smear of blood, reached for her comm and made the call. “High Marshal [member="Kiff Brayde"] if you’re there…The South Tower near the star port could use some help. We’re in danger of being overwhelmed before we can even get the people to safety. Please, respond.”, Gia paused, and released the comm, before turning back toward her duties.

She could only hope that they could get everyone out in time.
