STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS

STRENGTHS

  • Fast: The Lifesaver is fairly fast at both sublight and superluminal speeds thanks to fighter-grade ion engines and an advanced hyperdrive.
  • Rescue Craft: The Lifesaver is effectively a spaceborne ambulance, coming with a pair of medic droids to recover groundside patients and treat them while en route, as well as a pair of Chronos MedSurge capsules which can both hold the patients in stasis or act as bacta tanks if needed. It also comes with onboard bacta storage as well as a pair of portable medical backpacks to help users provide additional aid.
WEAKNESSES
  • Unarmed: The Lifesaver has no weapons.
  • Specialized:The Lifesaver is a one-trick pony - it is a highly capable rescue craft - but is difficult to use for almost anything else.
DESCRIPTION

The Lifesaver is a medical rescue craft designed to quickly respond small-scale emergencies in civilian systems or to act in groups to perform mass casualty evacuation during battles or natural events. To that end, the Lifesaver is a high performance craft, using a lightweight frame, small mass, and powerful engines to give a flight performance more typical of a fighter than most passenger craft. This allows it to quickly reach potential patients for when the minutes really matter to save the patient's life. In space, it has both a ventral and lateral docking port which can access those of most other ships to facilitate patient evacuation. In the advent of EVA patient, the MAST turret typically has a tractor beam which can pull the patient through the same docking ports. The rear of the Lifesave houses a compact but advanced medbay manned by a pair of medic droids, who act not only as treatment staff within the ship, but also patient retrievers during groundside operations. While reasonably capable on their own, the droids typically rely heavily on the advanced MedSurge Capsules to stabilize their most critical patients - not only can these capsules act as bacta tanks, but they suspend the patient in stasis, preserving them to be operated on by surgeons or treated by other more advanced medical staff if necessary. Some organizations provide an organic medical professional, or have their flight team double as medics as well. To that end, the Lifesaver also comes with a pair of medical backpacks which provide a variety of advanced Lucerne Biological Systems products - from medisensors and field replicators to cocktails of genetically engineered drugs - which can provide an additional level of treatment if necessary. Despite the fusion of Lucerne Lab's starship expertise and Lucerne Biological SYstems's advanced medical technologies, the Lifesaver is really only intended to be a stopgap measure to help stabilize critically patients, and its facilities are typically only used to fully heal minor injuries.
