The Miner's Pick

Much like the rest of Maurius this time of year the stone roof is all but hidden by the snow. Frost has begun to claim most of the glass around the windows on either side of the entrance. Boots make a dull sound on the stone, but shuffle with the movement of snow from the worn out welcome mat. A thick wood and iron door is one of the only ways the cold makes its way into the tavern. As each one of the party members arrive the push of the door creates the groan and creak one hears as they enter.

Right as you enter, you see a Mirialan barkeep. Broad shoulders, long shaggy hair that's pulled back loosely he has thick eyebrows and a deep set of emerald eyes. The markings along his eyes tell that he holds some manner of weight around here. He's got a typical barkeep look with an apron and shirt that have seen better days. He's cleaning the top of the counter while a Kiffar Bard sings a song about the harsh winter it's clear to everyone that none of the party members are from around here.

"Hey." The barkeep calls out, "over here."

"Names Vo Cari, what business do you have here?"

It's more cautious than stern but something tells the party members that he's ready to fight if he has to. Another Mirialan, a woman comes forward she sets down several bowls of stew. Small game with root vegetables and spicy broth, "Vo..." she warns, "we don't get guests up here let alone during the winter months. Names Tiani, don't mind my husband he's just been a little on edge these days."

There's enough food for everyone, beverages also arrive courtesy of Tiani. "I saw your group coming up the river, can we get you guys anything else?"

CIS MEMBERS:
Whether Knight Obsidian, Iron Crusader or what have you, you were called here because of a distress call sent by Nysana Talon. She and a party of Scared Lotus members have gone missing. Several of the remaining members of the Sacred Lotus down in Sanctuary pointed your group to this town as their last known whereabouts.

AIE MEMBERS:
Shattered Jedi, Twilight Company or otherwise, you were called here to accompany Jedi Master [member="Coren Starchaser"]. He's been informed that there may be a possible Nexus on Monastery. Unfortunately the sudden onset of several snowstorms have made conditions quite hazdarous and Coren's contact has suddenly gone MIA. Your group has been directed here to meet up with the CIS Team headed to the Seven Guardians, where Coren's contact is rumored to be.

OSL MEMBERS:
Two prominent members of the Order have gone missing after going on a small trip up the mountains. You know that their last whereabouts were somewhere around Maurius, but you've not been up here enough for the people to know you. Thankfully, CIS and AIE Members are also here, you think about joining their group as it seems like your objective lines up with theirs.

Wasn’t going to take much to get Starchaser up and moving. The General of the Alliance in Exile was still reeling from the Sith Empire’s assault and destructive blasts against the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order. Having fallen to him, the leadership was always looking for the next move. He had never gained the desire to lead and rule. But direction? That he could do. It was why he pushed the NJO’s remnant to the Star Temple, and kept them under wraps. Many within the Alliance may not trust Jedi after the Sith’s move. But still, others could see them as a sign of hope. And keeping people working together, for the common goal? That was important.

Having received the call, he took the crew and the Princess Leia and made their way to Monastary. Aboard, he had his student [member="Mishel Noren"] and partner [member="Romi Jade"]. The rest, well he knew others would be coming, but also, as the General of the Alliance Army, he had his duties and was sitting in the room that he had cordoned off for advanced communications through allied space. Sure, they were in Confedearcy space, but the CIS was still lead by a Sith. The Outer Rim Coalition felt better, and even the New Republic, who was gaining speed. Sending an encrypted message to the Star Temple Omai Rhen. Hoping to contact the Jedi there, like [member="Cambria Zadira"], [member="Oren"], [member="Kahne Porte"], and even to the affiliated groups, like [member="Veino Garn"] and his Jensaarai.

A similar message, that called for needing back up and gun hands went out to the army, and Twilight Company. Coren’s droid, Porter, made sure this got sent to [member="Lyra Sunfell"], [member="Sol Stazi"], and the newer recruit @Kavisa. He was hoping to see a few at the landing location and nodded to the droid before stepping out to the main hold of the ship, looking to rearm before making his way to the cockpit. The Jedi Master was looking more to the typical fringer than anything. Checking his sidearm, he shrugged. Didn’t know what to expect out there. But it was going to be cold. So he grabbed the jacket.

“How far out are we?”

The cool air briskly washed over Cardinal, causing the hairs on the back of his neck to stand. A soft crunch occurred as his boot impacted the frost covered surface beneath. The Dominus Prime to the Knight’s Obsidian had landed a few miles from the appointed meeting place, an old habit born from a life of war. He knew better than to ever be anticipated, it made things such as ambush all the easier. Glancing back to the shuttle he had dismounted, a few members of the Knight’s Order had been selected to join him. “Let’s go.” He ordered, turning to a nearby path that had been plotted to lead them to Marius.

Nysana Talon had sent a distress call, one that had reached the very office of the Vicelord. Cardinal did not know what this entailed, yet it had been serious enough for the Vicelord to scramble a clutch of the Knight’s Obsidian. That alone caused him to be on edge, more so than usual. Pulling his cowl from behind his head, Cardinal’s suit assembled his helmet around his face. It was a relief to not have the chilling bite of the cold air, yet that was likely all the relief he would be afforded.

Encased in his Obsidian Strike Armor, the man would begin down the path, his mind focused on what may be.

Marching behind Cardinal was Madalena Antares. He had recruited her to the Knights Obsidian weeks ago, and she had been busy with missions almost nonstop ever since. When the opportunity to join this mission on Monastery had arrived, Madalena had grabbed it with both hands without thinking. She needed this mission to show what she was capable of. So far, she had mostly operated as a lone agent, sowing chaos on every battle field she’d been assigned to. But she knew, if she wanted to advance, that she had to show her ability to work with the rest of the team as well. A lone wolf was an asset, but a lone wolf that could at an instant transform into part of a pack would be much more useful to the Knights as a whole, and hopefully, carve her path to the promotion she sought yet knew was much too early to mention.

She kept the pace that Cardinal set, while she had herself had opted not to protect herself from the elements. Most of her time these days was spent on Geonosis, and Geonosis was a terribly hot and arid planet. Madalena hated the dry heat. The cold and biting winds of Monastery were welcome to her, and she accepted their caresses on her face with a smile and a stride.

Still, she could not deny that this mission felt slightly weird. The distress call had been received, but there was absolutely no information that had come along with it. Monastery had been under the protection of the CIS for long enough, and she trusted Cardinal to have relayed any information he might have had. But there nothing. Madalena hated going in this blind. Still, she said nothing, choosing instead to operate as one of the soldiers on the outside. As they walked down the path, Madalena let her presence flow out with the Force, trying to scan for any resistance they might meet along the way.

The Force washed over Adron, bringing him to a center of focus and heightened awareness. It was a blissful feeling to shut out the rest of the galaxy and center on oneself. Especially for a man such as Adron who saw so many imperfections in the galaxy as it was, and so few in himself. Of course he could not remain that way forever, no there was far too much for the Minister of War to do. He felt as if he had been falling through a void of emotion and scattered thoughts for hours yet in a single moment this void was replaced with the world that surrounded him. The Force gave him insight to so much that he did not fully understand, yet what he did understand was his ability to dip his hands into it's reaches and touch the signatures that surrounded him. The people, the trees, the rocks, the streams, he could sense them all as if he stood before them. Of course they were a ways away, so when he finally opened his eyes all he was greeted with was the site of still metal shrouded in darkness.

Adron had committed himself to a morning meditation before this next ordeal, he felt strengthening his bond with The Force around him could be beneficial. Pushing himself to his feet he glanced around, the only light in the entire room coming from a small clock that was embedded into the wall next to his bed. 05:38.

It was still rather early, good. He had already dressed himself for the day. As usual he wore business attire, this time it was a jet black and accompanied with a warmer coat to protect from the slight chill of Monastery's winter months. Pulling on the black gloves that were on his hand he cleared his throat before making his way out of the cabin. As usual Adron traveled with light company, not even caring to bring any escort, yet there was one person whom he had with him and she was likely ready to go.

With his lightsaber hidden underneath his coat, he made his way towards Alessandra's room. He took a moment to smooth his hair back against his head before he found himself approaching her door. Two subtle taps were given as he awaited the woman's response, his eyes looking down the length of the hall.

Cambria Zadira stood in the communications suite of the Pulsar-class Mothership that was home to the Eclipsed Jedi of the Shattered Order and read over the encrypted message sent from [member="Coren Starchaser"]. The Jedi Master had gone on a mission with his usual team aboard the Princess Leia to Monastery where the Order of the Sacred Lotus was located, and now he was calling for additional Jedi and some personnel from the Alliance-in-Exile to join him there ASAP.

The blue-hued Twi'lek turned to the padawan, who was manning the comms, and handed the data pad back. "Send an encrypted reply back to Master Starchaser his message was received and will be honored post haste. Also, please ping the strike team on-call and have them meet me in the hangar," she nodded to the young Zabrak, then turned on her booted feet to prepare for the mission ahead.

Cambria wondered momentarily with amused curiosity if that is how her late master would have looked at the same age. It was only a fleeting thought while taking the short ride on the turbolift, then quickly released into the Force as the Jedi Knight cleared her mind of all frivolous musings to ready herself for the task ahead.

The hangar bay was a buzz with activity as the Jedi Ace's personal X-83 TwinTail starfighter was being loaded onto the fighter cradle in the cargo hold of the J-1 Shuttle; the transport the Shattered's small team of Jedi would be taking to the Mid Rim planet within CIS territory. Someone amongst the Jedi once had commented the ship was 'sexily ugly'. From a certain point of view, that was indeed true.

After storing her gear aboard the shuttle, Cambria made her way to the cockpit and began the pre-flight while waiting for the other Jedi to join her. As soon as the team members were accounted for, they would launch. Hyperspace travel time would be around 24 hours from their current location.

A pure white wolf stood high up on a hill, being almost completely invisible due to the heavy snow where he was, the only part standing out was his black nose and pure dark red eyes. His full length of 5 foot and 4'4 tall, paired with his large build for a member of his species, made him quite a large beast. He cloaked himself to all of the sense, as his species did, including the force, and walked down the hill to the inn, and stalked around it, his feet leaving no impression on the snow, or his surroundings, leaving no hints to his presence. He eventually made his way to the door of the inn, phasing through it, and going over to a dark corner, sat, and looked at the inn, still invisible to all sense.

"Message from General Starchaser!" One of the comm officers called from the bridge and Lyra hurried over across the bridge and knelt beside the display. She studied the encryption as it was undone as the message spooled in front of her. Force nexus on Monastery? Missing contacts? They weren't her usual concerns, but when General Starchaser sent the message, they would respond.

"Reroute the Firebird," Lyra issued to the bridge commander. "Monastery."

"Understood, Major." As the ship's crew adjusted course and brought the ship out of hyperspace, Lyra assessed the information, and prepared for deployment.

"Prepare one squad to deploy to General Starchaser's location. Primarily S&R."

I am a son of the Mountain.
The trip into Maurius was a rather brief one. The town had been carved into the side of a mountain and held several passes that allowed traveler to easily approach it. Once the Knight's Obsidian arrived, Cardinal glanced back to the Knight's that had joined him. "I want everyone to keep a vigilant eye. Remember, we do not entirely know what is going on here, so until we do remain alert. Knight Antares you are with me, the rest of you fan out and wait for us." The rest of the Knight's dispersed into the town, some of them removing their hoods and even mingling with the diverse community that wandered the streets.

Cardinal watched each of them blend into the town before his deep voice finally found life, directed at Madalena. "The briefing said we should check a local tavern, see if anyone has heard anything from or about Talon." From behind his mask, Cardinal's deep voice had an almost droid-like distortion to it. However, it was not long before a soft click could be heard and his mask deconstructed itself back into the base of his neck.

"Keep your eyes open, understood?" He said, looking over to Madalena before continuing on the path that led into town. It went without saying that none of this was sitting well with Cardinal. There was no reason for notable Confederate members to be going missing in friendly space. Of course there was always the chance of some kind of misunderstanding, but he sensed there was more to it than that. The town reportedly only had one tavern and if you've seen one you've seen them all, so it was quite easy to find the building.

"I sense....." He paused, dipping into The Force, hoping to pull some revelation from it's endless sea of power. There was nothing to be granted and that also caused the man to narrow his eyes at the building. Rather than complete his words he made his way into the tavern, the large doors parting to allow the large man clad in ebony and crimson armor access. The Miner's Pick was as you'd expect. It had a slight crowd, but was nothing that set the man off edge. Immediately he made his way towards the bar, taking note of the Mirilian couple who seemed to be manning the establishment.

"Excuse me, I was hoping to get a bit of information." His words were directed to the man who seemed a bit less busy than his counterpart.

SOnce they were all planetside, he knew he had some work to get done. That was what Coren was already running of for. The group with him had touched down with the Princess Leia, and as much as he missed the Tachyon Rising who was collecting dust on the family heavy freighter, the Leia was a piece of work. His personal YT was great to be piloted solo, or with his droid, but this ship, it was a family, a really bizarre, make shift, dysfunctional combat family of Jedi and a Mando, plus whoever jumped into a bunk temporarily. He hoped his messages got through, because even with his team of [member="Mishel Noren"] and [member="Romi Jade"], there were still a lot of Confederates abound. And while he was understanding how the Knights Obsidian were looking at it, and he could respect that, there was still the fact that their leaders with Sith.
And he wasn’t completely sold on that.

The weather wasn’t letting up though, and by the time he had gotten to the Miner’s Pick with his team? He was out of contact. That was why he was even more worried about the Confeds. He could be here, and survive for a few days, being… planetside.

But leave him with a few Sith? And people were going to be able to tell where he was by the way the Force would be screaming.

“So, what do y’all got around here, anyhow?” He looked at the bartender, he needed some direction, and barkeeps seemed to always know what was going on.

Step one was a drink though.

[member="Nysana Talon"]

He made himself visible to the senses of: sight, smell, hearing and touch, but kept himself invisible to the force, and he got up, and wandered around, his tail brushing against Cardinal's armour on more than a couple occasions, when this happened, his eyes glowed a dark shade of red. Making his way around the place slowly. stopping and sniffing every so often, and listening. He eventually made his way over to the current CO of the Knight's Obsidian, Cardinal, and sat down by his side, making no sound, or even touching Cardinal, just sniffing him once or twice, then turning his head straight, and looked over the bar his height when sitting was roughly 5 foot.

While the rest of their team fanned out to keep an eye out, Madalena got to go into the tavern with the Dominus. She hid her pride at that, hid the joy of getting the opportunity to be useful in a place that he could directly see. She nodded to him when he said to keep an eye out, already having plans of her own as to how to handle her part of this mission, though she wasn’t entirely sure yet what exactly her part would be, which caused for multitude of various blueprints inside of her mind. Being prepared was always a good thing.

Much like Dominus, she herself couldn’t sense anything sinister from the tavern. Sadly, it didn’t mean that there wasn’t anything sinister happening in there. Her experience was far too varied to not know that there were those who could efficiently hide their intentions, even in places like this.

Madalena remained close to the Dominus as he walked straight up to the bartender and asked him about information. She used the moment to sense around, trying to get an imprint of what might have happened there. The distress call had come from a Talon, one of the exarch’s siblings. She was surprised that this alone had not caused for the deployment of bigger forces. If she’d known her twin brother had sent a distress call like that out, she would have sent pretty much everything in her arsenal to go get him.

Some would say it was not her place to judge. But Madalena was judging, hardcore.

As the Dominus spoke with the man, she herself leaned against the bar and began to let her presence spread. While this was technically a planet for Lightsiders, and her being a Darksider stuck out like a sore thumb, there was no malicious intent in what she was doing, and she made sure to let it be known through the Force. All she wanted was to gleam some information, memories that bubbled to the surface of people’s minds, nothing taken by Force or by demand.

She was a nice darsider!

As soon as the small strike team was aboard the Jedi shuttle, Cambria prepared the transport to launch. To her surprise the padawan who had been manning the Star Temple's comms entered the cockpit and paused for a moment to offer a respectful bow.

"Knight Zadira.... I was wondering if I may join you at the controls. I would like to gain more flying experience, and have been signed off on this ship by my... um late master."

The Jedi Ace twitched her lekku thoughtfully behind the pilot seat as the twin head-tails were draped over the back, then she motioned her blue-hued hand towards the co-pilot chair for the young Zabrak to sit. So many Jedi had perished both on Coruscant and Lothal during the Sith's endgame for the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order. It was good to see hope still kindled in a young one.

"It would be an honor to have you piloting by my side, Padawan Zur... How about you take us out then, hmm? she nodded with a small smile gracing the Rutian Twi'lek's naturally berry-colored lips as the teen's golden-brown eyes lit up.

"Yes, ma'am!" Tavek answered with youthful excitement, then he promptly dropped himself into the empty pilot couch eager to prove himself.

"The pre-flight is completed and the first jump's coordinates are loaded into the nav computer. You have the con."

Cambria had shied away from taking another padawan learner after her last one had fallen to the dark side, but the orphaned girl from Denon was already tainted before the Guardian had taken her on as a student from another master. It was only a matter of time and circumstance before the fall was complete. It remained a major regret of the Jedi Knight that she was not able to bring the young redhead around. Perhaps though, it was time she stepped up and mentored another. Definitely something to mediate further upon.

Monastery wasn't exactly how she remembered it. Then again a lot had happened since she had last been there, Mishel was here accompanying her master [member="[/FONT][/SIZE][FONT='lucida sans unicode'][SIZE=14px]Coren Starchaser"] and his beau [member="Romi Jade"]. And there was another reason for her being here, [member="Alessandra Creed"]. It had been revealed somewhere between Tatooine and now that the two were siblings thanks to their mother, Valessia. It was in fact [member="Marakai Al'Orren"] who helped reveal this and she had been there begrudgingly helping the two cope. Master Jedi Al'Orren had also informed Starchaser and Mishel that she would rush ahead of the group to help look for dangers, even if Mishel was half hoping that the shapeshafter would greet them at the Tavern here on Maurius.

Instead there was a rather large an unusual group made up of Exiles and Confederacy members. The speeder pad was busy as many arrived here as the meet up point, and Mishel hatched an idea. While Coren was inside the Miner's Pick she was going to set up a snow fort. After all who knew how long Coren was gonna be in this place and she knew that where [member="Adron Malvern"] was so too would be Alessandra. That part was leaked to her thanks to their mother who wanted Mishel to keep an eye on Ale.

Mishel quietly built up a small fort in between buildings.

Dressed at both Coren and Mara's insistenance in layers and a beanie the young woman prepared a makeshift snowball gun, while making snowball ammunition. When it was done, she would wait - wait for Alessandra to show up and then BAM, snowballs. At least that was the idea, and somehow Mishel could hear Mara groan with irritation and huffing off. Maybe the half-Felacatian was around here after all.

All the while, Lav, the Selonian pilot along with the Princess Leia's droid had taken the ship to the main city, Vitalii to resupply and refuel. Hazardous weather conditions made it difficult for ships let alone shuttles to get a look at the Seven Guardians. At the moment the Selonian was trying to learn all that he could about the area and then relay that to Starchaser as best he could.

Vo looks over at the man with the dreadlocks, they were almost like some of the Kiffar south of here. The mirialan looked over at his wife Bira who nodded and then his attention turned back to the man in front of him. "About the Echani, right?" He figured, he tried to tell that woman to wait out before the storm hit. "Yeah, some of the Lotus folks and this Echani came through here not too long ago. Headed up river to the Seven Guardians." Vo looked the man over again, looked like he could take care of himself but then other people shuffled in and his wife set about making more food. There wasn't much up here most especially at this time of the year, "if you're thinkin' about headin' up there take some provisions with you. There ain't much of a general store, but the Fentaro Brothers might have a few things for you."

Bira, Vo's wife moved to serve folks at the tables. She kept an eye for the newcomers, and as Madelena gleamed the room for information she would get mostly town gossip but one or two people would reveal that the storms this year have been the worst anyone had seen. One of the two at least would have thought about the Echani and the Lotus members that came through here. Wondering about their safety, it was a harsh trail during normal circumstances but now? One could only hope that they were alright. Ghost Snow while relatively unseen would find a group of dogs not too far from the fireplace, their owner set out some food. A wise idea to eat up befor heading out may come to mind.

Another man approached Vo, this one with rough looking hair. He asked what they had, "mining, snow, and fish and not necessarily in that order." Vo answered and the man didn't look like any of the normal humans from around these parts. And he looked much like the others, here for a purpose. Maurius hadn't seen this kind of foot traffic in at least two seasons. "Listen, if you're lookin' for them folk I was just talkin' about best bet is it hook up with these ones here and head out together. Weather ain't gonna be kind to anyone tryin'a be a hero."

For those who had yet to arrive at the Miner's Pick, Monastery would direct their vessels to land at Vitalii and advise taking the speeder to Maurius. Large ships would be detained in orbit, smaller, personal ships less than fifty meters would be allowed to pass through Monastery's orbit while the CIS inspected the larger ones and asked for reasons why they would be here. The droid tending to the speeders would also advise those going to Maurius to make their trip quick. An even larger snowstorm was expected to hit the mountains, and while many within Maurius had shelter within the mountains... Anyone else would be left to fend for themselves unless they retreated down to Vitalii or found shelter within a cave.

The Minister of Commerce opened the door and chocolate eyes landed on [member="Adron Malvern"]. She remained still for a long moment, taking him in before she moved forward and her arms slid beneath his coat and around his waist. She was freezing. This whole place was a damnable ice box and she hated every bit of it. She let her face press against his neck as a shiver ran down her spine, despite the fur-lined overcoat she wore, and a very muffled greeting would meet his ears. “Where have you been?”

She knew the answer to it. Training, sleeping, working. As the Minister of War, he was just as busy as she was but the raven-haired Creed woman was feeling excessively petulant. She was cold and it made her exceedingly bad-tempered. Alessandra curled into the warmth of the Serenno man and exhaled slowly. Monastery was some new, fresh hell, that had decided to make itself her problem. Why?

Her sister. [member="Mishel Noren"].

The too proud and too haughty daughter of [member="Valessia Brentioch"] and [member="Gunther Creed"] seemed to find herself in a standstill. At first, she hadn’t believed it possible that some miscreant street rat was in any way, shape, or form related to her. Or that her mother could have possibly had more children…But here she was. Alessandra and her mother hadn’t quite sorted everything out yet, but in the meantime, she had a new family member to look after.

The girl was such a heathen. Her manners were horrid. They might as well have picked her up from the wild swamps of Dagobah after years of starvation and no contact with society. But, she was her sister. Alessandra felt something when she was around. Protective? She didn’t know. She didn’t like it—but there it was. “I hate this place.”

Too many light-sided fools running around like chickens with their heads cut off. She wanted to go home. Back to Geonosis where the sun blistered and the air was so hot it was hard to breathe at high noon. But, she could hardly go home, when half of the CIS was here. She’d even seen [member="Srina Talon"] running around but it was hardly surprising. It was her sister that had pulled them all here.

Ugh. Sisters.

The Miner’s Pick was a dive. This planet, ought to be glassed. Why it the name of the Force was everything so cold? “We’re going to be late.”, she murmured, lips still incredibly red, because despite the weather she still looked as if she’d stepped from the silver screen. Flawlessly beautiful, with the same, purple gem on a chain that hid her Force Signature. For perhaps the first time she didn’t really care about keeping a timetable. All she wanted to do was disappear back under the covers, preferably with a certain Malvern, and wait for spring.

She sighed. Heavily.

“Where were we supposed to meet them again? Outside, for sure. I don’t think we’ll be able to miss the search party.”, Alessandra spoke carefully as some of the crabbiness left her voice and she donned the hat of the Minister she was supposed to be. She pressed a kiss to his neck, discrete, and soft though she definitely left a little smudge of lipstick behind. “If I die here…”

“I’m haunting all of these Jedi for all of eternity.”

With that, she slipped her hand into his and pulled them down the hall, down the lift, and outside. Hell. This place was a white, snowy, wintry, disaster zone. No wonder Nysana Talon was missing. The pair would begin to pass right by the cruel trap that Mishel had put into motion. Ugh, Sisters.

There were no amount of times that Adron could lay eyes on Alessandra and not appreciate every subtle feature that made up her stunning beauty. Seeing her was enough to bring a slight smile to his lips, one that only showed itself when she was near. He eyed her for a moment before she closed the gap between them and wrapped her arms around him. The warmth flooded his coat and he responded by silently placing a hand on her back and another over the back of her neck. He held her closely to him before arching a brow down at the question. It was a bit obvious wasn't it? It was not like the man was especially secretive or even intricate in his routine. "Busy, the same as you." He responded, before pressing a tender kiss on the crown of her head.

Adron was not ignorant to Alessandra's deep hatred of everything below seventy degrees. Unlike her, he had grown in frigid mountains that never rose below a freezing climate. Weather such as this was what made the man most comfortable, yet it also made her the most unbearable. Generally cold weather had the effect of putting Alessandra in a bad mood that was equally amusing and agitating.

"Come on, let's go." He told her, leading her away from her room and down the hall towards their destination. Alessandra voiced her distaste of the world and it was met with a soft chuckle from the Serennoan noble. "You would not have survived in my home. This is pretty warm climate compared to the mountains." He teased, tapping his chin a bit in a mock expression of thought. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're cold." Of course Adron hated this world as much as Alessandra, if not more. It was a horrendous waste of his time. As the Minister of War it was not his job to go searching for every lost puppy that The Confederacy had misplaced. In fact, the only reason he was here was to accompany Alessandra and [member="Srina Talon"]. Had Nysana not held the name Talon, her fate would interest Adron as equally as an ants.

"They'll live." He reinforced, glancing over to Alessandra who seemed to be getting slightly more used to the cold climate. Not much, but a bit.

Her comment caused Adron to shake his head, almost deciding not to respond before he felt the warmth of her lips pressed against his neck. He glanced over to her with another smile before his hand fell into hers. He did not speak, yet Adron did call onto The Force as their hands met. In the mountains he had learned how to keep himself warm by using The Force to hold his internal body temperature at a constant. At this close proximity, Adron was a able to use this technique, Tapas, on Alessandra. She would feel a bit of the chill from the winds fade away while Adron spoke once again. "I can't believe one person has caused all of this fuss." He said, glancing around. "I hate being surrounded by Jedi trash." He said, not caring to hide the agitation in his voice.

I am a son of the Mountain.
It was no coincidence that the bartender before Cardinal had known exactly who the man was looking for before he had so much as broached the subject. He glanced over to Madelena, showing an interested expression before his attention was restored to the green skinned man who stood behind the bar. "Looks like we came to the right place." Cardinal responded, gesturing for the bartender to continue. When the bartender spoke of Nysana and the jedi she had been accompanying there was a glimmer of confidence that filled The Dominus. Time and time before the Knight's were tasked to a missing persons situation where there was no true hope of finding anyone, merely a show of interest by the Viceroyalty. As it appeared this would not be a similar case there was some cause to rejoice. Of course, the woman was far from found and that meant there was still much work to be done.

Turning to Madalena, Cardinal gestured to the bartender with a slight incline of his head. "He's seen her. Apparently they went up the river. We'll get some supplies and head that way. The rest of our squad will stay here in case there are other leads to follow." He said, gesturing over to the bar. "I'm going to go and get us some supplies. Stay here and see if you can find anything out. It seems were not the only ones visiting."

As his helmet materialized back around his head, Cardinal would make his way back outside. He was intent on finding a few supplies in case their trip took longer than expected. He had overheard some of the locals speak of a winter storm threatening to overtake their routes of travel. If that was the case they could find themselves in deep chit fast with no supplies.

There was… Nothing. Nothing useful that Madalena could glean, at least not with the amount of effort and mental penetration that she was using now. Town gossip, weather reports… Nothing about a missing person, a Talon, or anything else that would have been useful to them. This was part of why she didn’t enjoy playing detective; it usually felt out of her league. Point her in the direction of someone who deserved to be introduced to the pointy end of her knife, that was what she was mostly good for. A sharp, honed weapon. A woman who left a trail of dead behind her. A woman who knew she could not dig deeper into people’s minds right now because not only would that get noticed, but that would be taken as a darksider’s attack too.

She sighed.

Returning her attention to the Dominus, she nodded as he explained that he’d be getting some supplies before they went up river, and left her to keep an eye open.

Turning around again, emerald green eyes scanned the place. The Dominus hinted that there were other people after the Talon sister, but from what Madalena could find, there was no one here who actually did. Was she missing something? Was someone managing to shield themselves entirely from her? She sighed, taking a sip from her waterskin.

She was definitely not detective material.

Basically the writer is a trash person and forgets things. But Coren Starchaser was helping himself to a drink and making it known that he was here. No real use in sneaking around after all. Anyone who was looking for him just needed to hunt in the Force. But for now? He needed to figure out where he was going from here. Mishel was nearby, so he knew if stuff really did go downhill, he’d have her around. But for now he wasn’t going to worry to heavy. The drink was flowing and the pilot nodded.

“Weather going to be alrgiht?” Coren looked out on the landscape. Monastery was a new world for him and that complicated things. Arrival with a bit of research, but still, stepping out, he wasn’t wanting to get himself in over his head. He could handle people, but he wasn’t particularly looking forward to that.

“How are the locals looking? Is there any way I can help without dragging too much attention to myself?” He didn’t want to broadcast to the galaxy that he was here. Not that he was exactly going to be hiding.
