So for those who haven't seen it, I've set up shop at this homestead place thing, more or less as a home for Gabe and his family, along with [member="Avalore Eden"] and [member="Meeristali Peradun"] (who are family at this point). However, something I've noticed, and something others have noticed as well, is that there is a distinct lack of public threads on the board. So I'd like to try something and see how it goes. But first, here's where the idea comes from.
When I first started writing, back in 2007, the threads I was involved in were basically a single thread for a planet. So when you went to Naboo, you had one thread to write on, no matter where you were on the planet. If you want more detail, [member="Kira Corsai"] and [member="Eralam"] can tell you all about it. It was crazy and fast paced and awesome. But different. You basically just posted on the thread and reacted to what happened. Sort of like fishing, you threw out the bait and saw who showed up.
So here is my idea. I'm gonna start a public thread for the Homestead some time in the near future. It's in Galactic Alliance space, located on a moon of Sullust (Sulon). The idea of the thread is that it will be free floating. People can show up, make some toast, plop down on a sofa, tend to the sand garden, train in the facility, tend to the agriculture fields, help repair aquaducts, check out the sap tree, etc. And the idea is to create this sort of spontaneous circumstance where you may be put into a position of writing with someone that you may not have written with prior to this. Of course, I expect it to make sense for people to be there (if you are a not part of the GA or an ally, you should have a good reason for being there). However, if you don't know for sure, feel free to ask.
