Jungle Fever [TSE Dominion of Florn]

9uuwexZl.png
The world of Florn held little cultural significance and profitable economic ventures were few and far between. There were no massive veins of Doonium, no hidden caverns bursting with Kyber crystals. The native population numbered in the hundreds of millions, and yet little existed in the way of centralised government or even large-scale urban centres.

In short, Florn was doomed to an existence of ignoble anonymity, or would have been had it not been for the nearly unmatched deadliness of the natives, sentient and non-sentient alike. In the darkest reaches of this verdant world, terrible monsters lurked, while even the most common of beasts boasted razor-sharp claws and gnashing teeth, spurred on by primal instinct and supernatural influences to hunt down any who would dare set foot in the towering jungles that covered the planet’s continents.

No, this foreboding world was no place for the weak, though the dangers of its untamed wilds had long attracted the most daring of hunters and the most cunning of bioengineers. This was a world forgotten by time, a world that the Sith of old had left behind during the golden age of the Sith’ari King Adas, though even they, in their ancient wisdom, had failed to tame Florn, with the consequences of their mistakes being felt to this day...

For some, this would likely have been reason enough to shun this world and its pernicious jungles. Not so for the Sith Empire and its vast war machine, for what others saw as a grave threat they considered a grand opportunity. In the name of the Sith Emperor, they would do what the Ancient Sith could not, they would subjugate this most untamed of wildernesses and bring its indigenous peoples into the fold, new personnel to fuel its inexorable conquests. New citizens, for an Empire that had long since abandoned hateful xenophobia for cold pragmatism.

OBJECTIVES:
I: Not many sentients could survive on a planet as deadly as Florn, let alone flourish; the native Lamproids have done just that. While lacking in culture, they are far from stupid, though it is their impeccable reflexes and near-unmatched strength that has attracted the eyes of the Sith Empire. Establish diplomatic relations with these ferocious beings, particularly in regards to securing new recruits for the Sith-Imperial Legion.
II: The ancient Sith Warlord Sek’nos Rath led a disastrous effort to conquer Florn in the name of the Sith, bringing with him an experimental World Engine to terraform the jungles. However, before he could make planetfall a disastrous ambush in low orbit caused the accidental deployment of the device and destabilised its Sith power crystal. To this day, the malfunctioning world engine continues to twist the indigenous beasts into deadly, aggressive monsters. Fight your way to the world engine and deactivate it before the Sith power crystal becomes critical and detonates, potentially wiping out all life on Florn.
III: A group of pirates, smugglers, and outlaw techs calling themselves “the Lost Souls” have been tracked to a shadowport in the Oort cloud surrounding the Florn System. While normally above the concern of the Armada, a recent influx of hyperaccelerated nerve implants amongst outlaws and worse yet insurgents has been traced to this group. This cannot be allowed to continue. Capture or dispose of the criminals, and more importantly ensure that whoever is behind this predicament is introduced to the hospitality of the Saaraishash.
IV: BYOO

Objective Numero Uno: Make landfall and meet the Lord.

Location: Above the Magnus battlecruiser.

Another world in the sights of the war machine, now Mythos counted not only with the star destroyers he built with the oversight but the soldiers he had recruited in nathema as well. Mythos looked at this planet with different eyes than the upper hierarchy,of the empire, he saw first and foremost a massive Jungle training ground to build a specific jungle warfare regiment... his mission today allowed him to create such a thing or at least begin it's creation.

He wore his golden armour, was flanked by the banner of the empire, soldiers as far as the eye could see inside the battlecruiser and coming down into orbit his "Marinos". The Marinos were a special breed, a special regiment compromised of all the turncoats of the Commenori forces that along with Mythos defected.

This was to be a multi faceted operation involving Mythos,' own personal task force, the Imperial task forces and the armies of the planet. The goal was, through this training, incorporate them all together.

Mythos would fall upon the planet flanked by every power he could summon, freighters and frigates bombarding the sky out of hyperspace. The Empire is here.

"Get the Marinos ready, prepare the Vornskr legion for aerial assault. Inform topside we mean no harm. I come to see Lord Kaku"

Lyell Pavish

Chasing the Almighty Credit
Objective: Obtain Nerve Implants, Survive (3)
Location: Lost Souls' Shadowport, Oort Cloud

"Lie down on table. I take nerves now, implants come next week."

Lyell Pavish stared at the Devaronian in the bloodstained apron, then over at the collection of very sharp looking surgical instruments, and then back. "You know," he said, starting to turn away, "on second thought..." A moment later, the horned humanoid burst out with a strange, barking laugh. "Is only joke. Why you have to be mad? Seriously, you feel no pain. Is over very quickly, swear on medical license. Real one, even." That braying laughter broke out again, and Lyell's second thoughts intensified. Still, he'd come this far. In a galaxy increasingly overrun by gods and monsters, he needed an edge. Hyperaccelerated nerve implants might just be it.

So much of what he did relied on speed - a quick draw of the blaster, a swift turn of his control yoke, a rapid dodge into cover, all might well save his life.

"Your bedside manner needs work," he muttered, pulling off his jacket and shirt and lying on his stomach on the cold metal table. He'd paid upfront, credits he really couldn't afford to spend and now couldn't get back, so he might as well go through with it. Terrible logic, really, but he'd always been something of a risk-taker. "Maybe is not good idea to insult man with sharp scalpel and large needles pointed at brain and spine," the Devaronian retorted. "Also, may have said slight untruth. Now you sleep and not hurt. When wake up, hurt very much. So sorry!" Before he could say or do anything else, Lyell felt the prickly darkness of anesthesia creep over him. Out like a light.

Sure enough, he didn't feel the surgery. His mind drifted through strange, disinfectant-scented dreams as the operations of the Lost Souls' shadowport carried on all around the busy black market clinic. Cargoes changed hands, substances of all kinds were smoked or injected, credits were wagered and won or lost, and rooms - along with company - were rented by the hour. So far, the teeming mass of criminals, rebels, and outcasts that sheltered here remained blissfully unaware of the fleet approaching to seal their doom...

Objective I: Add more cogs to the Sith-Imperial war machine.
Allies: Major Vobrot (NPC) | [OPEN]
Location: Omicron Shuttle, en route to Lamproid settlement.
Post Nr. I

Eyes closed, Adrian nonetheless felt the slight vibrations that marked the shuttle's departure from hyperspace, an impression soon confirmed by the cheerful voice of their pilot. It was with a tinge of apprehension that the young Knight opened his eyes, for while he was supremely confident in his own abilities, Florn had a reputation for swallowing up the most competent of warriors and spitting them out in chunks. And he, despite his skill in the mystical art of sorcery, was no warrior, not really. It was not for nothing that the major and he were accompanied by a pair of bodyguard droids and a squad of heavily-armed Legionnaires, despite being on a diplomatic assignment.

Gaze swivelling towards the Zabrak, he couldn't help but feel a hint of admiration. Even he, a Knight of the Sith, was slightly worried, but the steely-eyed officer betrayed no hint of such weakness, his chest adorned with medals of accomplishment and bravery. Perhaps that was why they had been chosen for this assignment --- a sorcerer used to far worse than a particularly deadly invertebrate, and an officer with a reputation for unflinchingly leading his men from the front, even in the most hellish of circumstances.

As the sleek grey shuttle slid through the upper atmosphere, Adrian went over the details of this particular assignment one last time. Supposedly, they were to meet with the head of one of the more technologically advanced... tribes? Nations? Societies? Whatever they chose to call themselves, they had access to a significant portion of the relatively few starships on the planet, making them a vital connection between Florn itself and the nearby Lamproid colonies. Not to mention that their familiarity with technology approaching the galactic standard would ensure that any recruits they managed to secure would be easier to integrate into the Sith-Imperial war machine. Immense natural talent was one thing, but one couldn't very well send a soldier into battle unless they understood how to use their own equipment.

Vestille Thumahra

World Engine Exclusion Zone, Florn
Objective II :: Enter The Zone, Defuse The World Engine

The unease of jungles had since shifted since his time on Nathema.

The 12th had been mobilized to Florn in accordance to the Sith Empire's operation to save the planet of Florn and all life that inhabited it, if only to claw the system into their ever expanding borders. The brief had been relatively simple; a terraforming machine designated as the 'World Engine' was sought to be utilized by an ancient Sith Lord that had his plans unravel before him and saw the World Engine become a destabilized corruption of life upon the surface of the planet. What was once perhaps a docile and innocent creature had become a predator with an endless hunger and what was already a predator was no doubt more dangerous and lethal than it was already. As if the fact that the World Engine was corrupting and twisting all life within its reach into monsters, the crystal which powered the device was reported to soon become critical and wipe out all life on Florn. The Colonel wasn't an expert on Sith technomancy and wasn't informed on just how this apocalyptic event would occur but it didn't matter. All he knew were his orders; cull the mutated creatures and prevent doomsday from falling upon Florn.

As Vestille made planet-fall alongside the 12th, the plan was as simple as the briefing had been; they were after all fighting nothing more than mutated creatures and they were by no means intelligent enough to form battle lines and create a front of war. The three Army Groups that formed the Regiment had been outfitted with additional flamethrowers and fuel in order to operate them. Whilst there was no real time to try and conserve the environment and cut their way subtly through the foliage, simply burning it away ensured that any creatures with intent of stalking and lying in wait for a surprise assault were forced to flee or would simply also burn alongside the lush environment that they called home. It was as soon as each Major from their respective Army Group reported that they were ready that Vestille gave the order to advance. The flamethrowers formed in their positions as the vanguard began their sweeps of flame as critters and smaller animals just outside the reach of the World Engine ran instinctively away, into the open maw of the Sith device that twisted and turned.

That would no doubt be the last innocent thing they saw during their advance forward.

Objective: 1 Meet and Greet

As a representative to the cheif of the capital he was also in chance to meet the entierty of the government that had come. Preparations were met accordingly, the imperial fleet stood in standby and Mythos awaited further orders to proceed from the governing party. It was unusual, but he decided to be courteus. Once the fighters began to orbit the planet and the rest of the imperial fleet stood on the ready he had his signal.

He took an imperial transport and went as a representative. His armor polished but still dented from Commenor. His weapons primed at his back and waist, soldiers and imperial officers ready, he gave the command.

Falling from their star destroyers and dreadnaughts came the party, escorted by the fleet frigates and fighters and interceptors. Mythos lead the first vehichle himself, The Talon interceptor.

He arrived in the invisible vehichle first deep through swamps and forests, his skill on the ship alone keeping him alive. The port he arrived in was already expecting him, the royal party also stood ready to receive him with a specific requested guest they had with him. Mokar Baki, crime lord of the capital.

The thrusters shut off while the ship remained cloaked, the advanced design for all to see, they did not know it was not made originally in The Empire, but it had it's seal.

Mythos emerged from the ship and it was still cloaked, it blended with the golden armor until he stepped off. The port was silent then, Mythos scanned his surroundings and locked eyes with the Lamparoids.

"Well Met. The Emperor greets you all" He spoke, in their minds with their own language, his hands gesturing to the sky where the emmisaries of the Sith had come. The Inquisition would come in the later date, Mythos brought down the military.

"As agreed. Let us send our troops in a joint training exercise in order to incorporate all of our forces into the Empire. Mine included.' He said telepathically, all the while inching closer and closer to the main hall opposite the port where he had landed. He had arranged to meet with the leaders personally before they met with the officials and the other imperial repredentsrives to request their generals and officers be on the ready. Military terms were always understood, always.

"I will relegate command of all transfer of power and or utilities to my more trained counterparts in the ministry. I will handle the care and protection of your soldiers."

Mythos smilled while hoisting up his helmet, nodding to the generals beside him and heading off with the military personell and leaving policts to the politicians, the empire had people for that after all. An incorporation of this particular military could be tricky, weapons and ammunition wise as well as physical training and technical schools.

"Take me down to the swamps"

It was about time he got this golden armour dirty and see if the grime and dirt would rub off.

Location: Florn System.
Allies: [member="Tabigarashu Madara"]

As discussed in the previous weeks with GenPals' Cassandra Paige Cerbera had begun the process of creating a growth place for her masterwork.

Florn had been picked as a suitable location.

While the Sith Empire focused its efforts on the world itself, Cerbera looked towards one of its smaller moons. Private, unassuming and uninteresting for most it was the perfect place. Its locale was similar to its larger mother planet that it orbited. Deadly and beautiful to Cerbera. While she had hoped to meet miss Paige here (it would have been very amusing to her), a different opportunity presented itself. Such a large creation of hers had drawn the attention of the Saaraishash.

Apparently they were still rather miffed about the sudden appearance of the Rebel Alliance along its borders and they scrutinized things a bit more focused these days.

They send a representative, one Tabigarashu Madara, High Magister of the Saaraishash. Apparently they (Saarai had been firm) were Nezumi and that interested Cerbera immensely. Now she waited in the makeshift spaceport that had been established in the jungles for their arrival.

This would be interesting.

Objective: 1 Train and gain the lamporoids

The swamps reminded me of Dagobah where i raised my son, where i regained my ability to be lethal in combat without the power of the darkside. This Empire, made by Kaine Zambrano, a man i knew first as Darth Vronskr, now known as [member="Darth Carnifex"], gave me strength.

His uncle Braxus Zambrano, known to the galaxy as [member="Darth Prazutis"] is at this moment the man I work for, i consider him my supervisor. Wishing to bring him something great I dediced to create this, the Vornsk Legion.

Comprised of a Naval fleet manned by the Lamparoids, a Ground Force of my own Anubians and Nubians, an Armor of Sith Imperials and the help of a regiment of the Sith Imperial corps of Engineers the Vornskr legion is unlike any other. My plan? Train then to be the best Infantry Regiment with rapid deployment in the Empire. That is a gift the Emperor will love....

"Aplha Team on me."

I was leading a flank element through the bog of the swamp. It was now nearing the darkness of the night and i knew the home field advantage was on the enemy team. The force warned me about their impending attack.

Using my limited knowladge of pyrokinesis I prepared my attack. When the blast of the dummy grenade eliminated my left flank i unleashed a small inferno on the dry woods directly in front of me.

Chaos.

My military, my men and my soldiers practiced chaos on a daily basis, the Lamparoids and the imperials did not. With the speed of my Anubians and the steady aim of my riflemen we overtook the position and cleared the area.

Now i proceeded to teach. Teach what they did wrong or right. I will repeat this until their entire military is better, until they hate me, until fatige and hunger take their hearts. I will do this until many die, over and over again until perfect. They will hate me...

But they will earn the name Vornskr.

Objective II

A series of high-pitched howls echoed across the jungle canopy, followed by the buzzing of energy and a distinct wail of pain as smoke and the scent of burning flesh filled the air. Blood oozed upon the leaf-stricken floor, the corpse of a large beast sprawled awkwardly where it had fallen. Two of its limbs had been cut clean off, the wounds cauterized, and its body was littered with hundreds of smaller similar wounds. The man who stood over the beast was gargantuan in his own right, a cloak of maroon and gold hanging from broad shoulders as a blade of sunfire dissipated in his hands.

"Move the corpse onto the transport for study, the engine is close."

The soldiers milling behind the man grunted in response, gathering around the beast and hauling it onto a gravsled to then be carted back to the landing zone. Each of them was outfitted with hyper-accelerated nerve implants, critical for surviving on the harsh jungle world of Florn. The Empire had learned their lesson the first time they sent a force to the planet, all of whom had fallen victim to the planet's hyper-aggressive wildlife and were slaughtered to a man. Now the force sent to Florn was outfitted with advanced cybernetics and were accompanied by the Lords of the Sith, for the latter did not need the aid of technological might and cunning to survive such adversity.

They had the Dark Side of the Force.

And their Lord of Lords, their King of Kings, Darth Carnifex walked among them like any other soldier, his armor marked with blood and dirt from their trek through the wilderness. This was one of the many attributes of the Sith Emperor that endeared him to the Legion, his willingness to forsake the safety and security of command and stalk among the front lines with the grunts, risking his own life as he brought ruination upon the Empire's many enemies.

They would need his superior skills in this environment, the closer they approached the malfunctioning World Engine the more aggressive and monstrous the native life grew. The beast they had just slain was but an adolescence, and they had already encountered much larger much more fearsome monsters.

Yet none were as fearsome as they, and they would show nature exactly why that was so.

Tabigarashu Madara

Good things come in smol packages
The Saaraishash ship that brought Hirou to the moon of Florn was unassuming, but most certainly NOT a Nezumi ship. It seemed perfectly normal. Probably because it was. As it stood, traveling in such large accommodations seemed very over the top to Hirou (for such a small creature, anything this large, dedicated to their use, seemed opulent on purely that axis alone). But these days Hirou rarely traveled alone, and the ship needed to accommodate others, so it was what it was.

The Nezumi stepped out of the ship, nose twitching and quivering as they scented the air. A pair of Saaraishash Agents flanked them, but kept a distance as the small creature walked toward [member="Cerbera"]. Saarai had made sure the Nezumi was up to speed on her accomplishments.... and her dangers. Hirou was suitable forewarned and forearmed, but also perfectly pleased to meet new people. The warnings, after all, mostly included what happened to those who disrespected her, and Hirou was nothing if not respectful.

Wearing the smart little jacket Saarai had commissioned for them, Hirou bowed neatly at the waist when they came close to the green skinned woman.

"I am High Inquisitor Tabigarashu Madara, though my friends call me Hirou," squeaked the little voice as they looked back up (and up and up) at her.

"I like to hope that you will be comfortably calling me that as well."

Traditionally, Nezumi were stingy with their chosen names. They kept them close and tight, given only to those they loved and trusted. Hirou had come to a new view on it, in their time out in the galaxy. The little Nezumi led with that name, hoping in turn that the act of it would help them become friends and trusted.

So far, it had served them well.

black_3d_pyramid_glow_red____by_cytherina-d5gzbe0.jpg
World Engine, Deep Jungles of Florn

It was a relic lost to time.

A great pyramid of black metal interlaced with streaks of red, raw dark side power flowing through the entire structure that buried itself in the heart of Florn's deep, dense, hostile ridden jungles. A true testament to the ability of the ancient Sith it throbbed with dark power blanketing the landscape in a nauseating flood, a silent hum of apparent machinery could be heard the closer one made it. It was a structure with the ability to terraform the entirety of Florn and change its inhabitants, the ultimate sign of oppression. But something went wrong, in ancient times something caused the deployment of the World Engine that has bled dark side energy into the indigenous beasts turning them into sinister, ravenous monsters. Beasts that shouldn't have been so aggressive became hyper aggressive killers that operated with an intelligence on par with the most sinister of Sith spawn.

The closer the [member="Darth Carnifex"] came to the reputed World Engine the more frequent the attacks became, the more complex the tactics the creatures used. They were ambushed by mutated Ackley twisted by the dark side their eyes burned with molten fire they moved that much faster, hit that much harder. They would circle and attack them again from different sides including pincer attacks. They were just one of the many vicious, gargantuan monsters and twisted creatures that had been warped by the power of the world engine. Even one without the force could tell they were twisted by the dark powers, these beasts often killed for the sake of killing. They enjoyed tearing into the soldiers just to listen to their screams, to feed off their fears, to savor their pain as they crawl after limbs have been savagely torn off.

They did not want these new arrivals here that much was certain, and the closer they made it the more aggressive they became. The energy pulsed from deep in the jungles heart, they didn't have long...before the malfunctioning structure's power source became critical, and these beasts wouldn't make their journey any easier.

Ancient Times...

Betrayal.

They dared to declare him as weak? Sek'nos Rath? In his moment of triumph the snakes struck out attempting to steal the glory and prestige for themselves. But he didn't get this far without being more than just an efficient killer. They dared to try and weaken him, to dull his senses and distract him from seeing the assassination attempt coming right as they lowered the World Engine. He stood in front of the great conduit as blood stained the floor, all except for one of the traitors had been struck down and now it was the commander of his personal guard, Abelor. Blood dripped from his lanvarok as his lips twisted into a snarl and the pair collided their lanvaroks clanging against one another in glorious combat. "That was pathetic. That was all you could muster? Against me? Have you learned nothing from me." Sek'nos roared.

While his opponent was formidable he wasn't nearly as skilled as the Warlord a veteran of many of these attempts. To stay on top one must remain constantly vigilant, and without the poison he wasn't a match for the one he once stood for. Sekn'os swung low and cut the man's stomach open spilling it's contents out, with only Abelor's hand to keep it held in the massassi stumbled back towards the far end of the room. "I will mount your head on a pike and display it for all to see, to witness what a failure you have become." Sekn'nos said, but Abelor's face held a grin he still held his lanvarok up in his other hand.

"Your victory may be assured, but you won't live to enjoy the spoils." Abelor said roaring defiantly. In that instant he realized what his opponent had done. He maneuvered himself close to the great Sith power crystal, the crystal that held the energy torn from the cores of stars. They were volatile creations but they held enough power for the world engines needs. Sek'nos shrieked in horror as he sent a powerful telekinetic blast towards him, it pushed Abelor back but not far enough, the lanvarok's blade scraped across the surface creating a small crack. But the crack was enough and in a flash it was over. A terrible explosion of dark side energy atomized the pair completely, the sheer force of the triggered and flowed through the pathways of the World Engine and right out into the ship lowering it. The explosion killed every single Sith it came in contact with, sending the great pyramid down into the dense jungles below, the energy of the crystal bleeding through the construct. But as the years ticked by its state would slowly change from stable to volatile, to unstable. If it were to reach critical....

Death.

Objective: 1. Train the Vornskr Legion.

There is a reason i requested the crime boss to be in the meeting, they would all oversee the training excercise, but he was to go to my ships and load his cargo. With the Sith officers courting the royals on decrees I was in the swamp, shoulder to shoulder with my soldiers and the legion.

My armor made me visible in this swamp at first, but after the seventh dive into mud and grime due to simulated indirect fire it stopped shining. I shouldered my rifle and took my fireteam over three ridges, one saddle and took position on a hill.

The empire was here in force, My Emperor going headfirst into what i felt as an anomaly, a strange but powerful surge at the heart of Florn, The World Engine. I stood on the hill, my soldiers surrounding me as we called the end of the exercise. It was a victory for all sides, every unit came off with a lot of experience in jungle warfare but we were not done yet.

When i knew that all leaders of their military and our own surrounded me i began to recite the incantations. Lamparoids being succeptible to mentalism i devised an illusion. Using illusions and holograms i explained cover and concealment, survival tactics, protocols for infections and disseases while in humid enviorments and camouflage. It was a class worth a few hours, it was worth it, it was always of use...

"You will incorporate yourselves into the empire and form a legion, everything is prepared for your inclusion including but not limited to a salary increase" I said to them, all of them present, knowing that the base salary of the lamparoid military was at best half ours. These small details would seal the deal with these creatures.

"Now when it comes to armor, naval and technological powers. We have a different training Ex to try out" I said, the military lingo still heavy after so much time. Florn had an interesting atmosphere, especially at low altitudes. I knew exactly what i had to do, i had designed it already.

"In the Koarek Swamplands we will have several dogfighting areas to train in low altitude dogfights. In orbit we will have to train in boarding and naval salvos. The vornskr legion will focus on capital firepower. It is important that for those of you joining our navy, to learn about firepower and naval prowess." I knew that as i spoke their ships and ours began the dance of death in the stars, even if it was simulated.

In the darkness of the night we settled down on the hill, an incredibly large and well supplied power surrounding me. Tomorrow we would study the battle of Geonosis and the importance of armor in the battlefield.

[member="Tabigarashu Madara"]

It was absolutely delightful to see the Nezumi traps down the ramp and towards her.

Such an interesting creature.

"Hirou, darling, it would be my pleasure to consider you a friend of mine." She bowed lightly and even made a graceful gesture with her hand to sell the aesthetic. "May I say that you are rocking that suit? You look absolutely splendid in it." If there was one guilty pleasure that Cerbera participated in (quietly usually) it was fashion. There were so many interesting ways to make statements simply by the shade of your dress, the cut of your collar and more.

Cerbera enjoyed it very much.

Truth to be told she believed that everyone needed a hobby or two. You couldn't spend all your time doing experiments and subsuming worlds.

"Do you prefer to walk or would you like a ride on my shoulder?" Cerbera asked curiously. It might have seemed, in that moment, that this person they were talking to wasn't an alchemist who had caused much horror and trouble across every corner of the Galaxy. That they had found a heart, a soul. In truth much of it had to do with one specific thing: curiosity. Hirou was a curiosa to her and if there was one thing that Cerbera took good care of it were the things she was interested in.

Of course, usually those things ended up... unhappy anyway.

Science above all, no?

Objective: 3

Came to Shadowport Hanger in: Crawling Flesh (Courier-Class yacht)

Armed with: First Degree Burn (Laser Pistol)

Wearing: Civilian Dress

Equipment in vicinity: Skin Shears (Purple Double Bladed Lightsabers.

Resistance Epidermis.

It had taken nearly 3 weeks to set this up.

Assuming the identity of someone, even if one is a shapeshifter, carries with it unique caveats.

One can replace, for example, someone who already exists. This is not difficult. The most idiot Sith apprentice can get to a local billionaire alone and snuff them out quickly. One would think this was the most practical thing a shapeshifter would attempt, and ninety percent of the time, they would be right.

But this method has heavy drawbacks, and is ultimately only a short term solution unless one has time to commit to the roll long term, in which case it would require weeks and months of near constant observation of the targets habits, and while The Amalgam had time to spare, as well as the means to shorten the process considerably through knowledge tearing she had found, over the years of operating, that it was ultimately much more cost effective and practical to invent an identity, and build it up. Which is what she had done here. The Courier Class was meant for low key travel anyway. It was not registered to the Sith Empire, which was another bonus.

She had crafted a fiction on her own, rather than relying on Imperial resources. She was currently Lucretia Lister, a mid-tier weapons merchant looking to purchase large numbers of the implants and establish a long term relationship. In truth she was here to discover the source of the Nerve Implants.

This had actually been a problem she herself had experienced first hand. A man she had been hunting for The Empire on Korriban had reflexes as good as hers. Only the fact that her lightning was faster than his trigger finger had stopped her head from getting blown off.

So of course, the thought that soon there would possibly be hundreds of such people who could match, or even exceed her reflexes was a business hazard that simply could not be tolerated. Even if The Saaraishash had not given out this assignment, she would have had to seek this place out eventually for the sake of necessity.

Her current form was middle aged, blonde, with a fair skin tone, clad in a gold satin dress that stopped at the knees and gold shoes. She currently had brown eyes, face regal and structured. She had been escorted off the vessel by her pirate hosts and relieved of her weapon, a high capacity laser pistol. The sort of weapon unlikely to draw attention save for its fine construction. It was a weapon that only a true marksman would get the most out of.

The Lost Souls pirate that had taken pistol whistled at it, admiring the white, pearlescent, contoured grip and the transparisteel frame.

"Nice gun...if you're into competition shooting."

"It gets the job done, I assure you..." The Amalgam said with the voice of Lister, a regal effect to her accent.

"Of course, we can't let even a potential business partner like yourself travel around our fine facility armed. You understand."

"Completely. Lead on." The Amalgam replied patiently. She could see multiple blaster turrets, some connected to security cameras. Terax had loaned her the money to wet the appetites of their greed.

"Your Zygerrian contact spoke highly of you...called you an excellent accountant with dozens of connections to mercenaries throughout the sector. Strange we could not find much on you." The Pirate remarked.

"I rarely surface to do business personally unless a product that truly has my interest comes along. And these Nerve implants you are offering has many of my own potential clients quite interested, I assure you. Depending on what I see here, I may arrange--and pay--for over a hundred surgeries to start, as well as whatever other medical operations you might be conducting. But I DO expect to be impressed. These implants had better not fail after only a week or something."

"Lady, I guarantee our work. These Hyperaccelerated Nerve Implants well get you through the nastiest life forms on Florn itself, including those damn Lamproids. Damn things give me the shudders every time I see 'em."

"They're a vile looking creature, I do confess..." The Amalgam replied, filing the masked pirate's fear away for later, as she was led out of the hanger and through a number of security checkpoints, getting scanned for electronics. She had none on her. Just the dress and shoes now. The shadowport looked clean and orderly...there were even multiple warning signs. It'd actually be a shame to destroy them...they were efficient...they had operated this facility for a long time without drawing attention. The fact that they were getting it now was largely because...ironically...success bred attention.

In that way, they had something in common with her.

They were both, perhaps, too good at their job for their own good. And in someways, that flaw was as fatal as any that had killed major Darksiders in the past. Palpatine's had been arrogance. Vader's had been sentiment.

But if one were to ask The Amalgam herself what her fatal flaw was, and had she been in a sporting mood and no fear of the consequences, she would have answered, before shortly killing the questioner thereafter, that it was a Bounty Hunter.

The shapeshifter reached the sterile operating rooms that had been set up. They took their work seriously for pirates. She was starting to understand why they had not been caught sooner. Very disciplined. Very cautious.

But there were always gaps. No one was totally incorruptible. And however good a pirate was at keeping a lid on their operations, one must remember that a pirate is a pirate. She had seduced one of the lower ranking pirates who worked here under her standard alias. He had been some hotshot pilot kicked out of the GA for smuggling. Not the most upstanding sort, as with any pirate. All it took was her blinking purple eyes and walking up in that skintight combat suit and he belonged to her the instant he had laid eyes on her in that nightclub. No Force Persuasion necessary.

It had been so easy to convince her budding slave to smuggle her equipment aboard in his freighter. He had complied without hesitation. She knew these pirate types because she had been types. She knew how such men thought. What they believed they were entitled to. A tease and a wink, and a twist of a lithe frame. It was that simple with some men. He'd told her he had left it under the bed in the guest quarters her current alias would be staying in. The Honey Trap strikes again.

"I have a demonstration ready...we prepared it just for you..." the pirate said. "Please...this way..."

The Amalgam followed her host further into the facility.

In truth, he was pleasantly surprised. He had expected primitive, but this odd fusion of primitive and high technology momentarily caught him off guard. Then again, this was one of, if not the, most technologically advanced groups on the planet. Even if their numbers were far more modest than the considerably more state-like societies being visited by some of the more higher ranking envoys.

Still, as his gaze fell on the Lamproid guards sporting plasma cannons evidently tinkered with to fit their strange physiology, he was confident that he had made the right choice. Better take charge of recruiting a small number of easy-to-integrate troops, than play second fiddle to some Lord or another as they recruited primitives in droves.

Back straight, he all but marched forth from the shuttle, the Major at his side. While he normally drifted towards a more casual amiability, the Lamproids were predators of the highest order. He had no intention of doing anything that might mark him as prey; not because he was not reasonably confident in his own security, but because few natural predators, even sentient ones, were particularly willing to deal with beings which they would rather eat.

"The representative greets you, Dark One, and you, Major." Inclining his head slightly towards the Lamproid he assumed to be the leader, the young Knight returned the gesture, leaving it to the alien-looking protocol droid to serve as translator. "And I, in turn, am pleased he agreed to see us. Tell him that I am looking forward to discussing how we might form bonds of cooperation and friendship between our two peoples." A tad bit unconventional for an Imperial diplomat, but it was not like the Sith Empire was planning to occupy the planet. That would be too costly, for too little gain. No, the system would certainly be added to their vast Empire, but he seriously doubted many would set foot planetside, at least with the exception of particularly trying training exercises.

Objective 1: Regimental and Branch live fire

Sun set and sun rise, early in the morning. I stepped out of my tent and took the time to smoke, the dark bota already a routine in my mornings in the feild. I brought in the Thrawn Battle Tanks, my Hellhounds and set up the Hammers for artillery trainings. This was to be a cross branch, joint execrise to increase accuracy when firing as a convoy and combined arms.

Across several miles, on the line vehichles were being placed, tanks primed, infantrymen ready with their weapons and supply vehichles behind that line with live amunition. Having live ammunition made saftey a concearn now, the targets at the end simulating Galatic Alliance defensive possitions and tanks also simulated getting hit.

I finished my smoke, donned my armour, gathered the officers and headed off to the tower. The tower we made we did with their technology and my C.A.R.G.S system. I was able to see everything through holograms and the system. The range would go hot in a few minutes, i took the time there to inspect the Thrawn tank lined and my infantrymen possitions, i ordered a few changes last minute.

Seconds before range went hot, i saw everyone priming their weapons, tanks locked on target. The silence before the storm, the morning dew mixing with the fog made visibility bad, it forced the military present to use every tool in their disposal to shoot accuratley even in these conditions.

RANGE IS HOT. LOCK AND LOAD. PICK YOUR TARGETS.

The speakers barked out the start of the training and it was beautiful to see what happened next. The regiment of the Vornskr legion opened fire, coordinating with those next to them so they would cycle their fire. The tanks blasted the larger targets, easily their more powerful blasts lead the orchestra of destruction, the infantry picked up the slack and firepower when the tanks on their left and closest proximity were reloading. The tanks on the father proximity picked up the fire alongside the infantry. The feild looked like hell, the defensive possitions we had created for the targets resembled the battle of Geonosis and mimicked their turret positions.

Their guns talked more than the soldiers themselves, the machine gunners with the M-400 would fire in alternating bursts and if there was an issuie with one the other would fire for the malfunctioning one until it was back on line. After a minute of fire, tanks pulled back, infantry bounded back fourhundred meters to simulate a tactical retreat.

This was a complex and hazardous manouver. The line was broken into five companies, the first, third and fifth would pick their weapons and run back, hitting the ground and shooting back every three seconds. The second would pick up the rate of fire, blasting the hell out of everything to cover their retreat. They would repeat this until the companies bounding back were set along with their tanks in the positions fourhundred meters back.

They moved flawlessly, they lit up the feild and surprisignly they did not fire into enemy teams or their sectors.

This was good, very good. Once the first three companies gave the signal the second and fourth companies bounded back as the mortar teams blasted the firing positions they were first in as they ran back and the first three companies covered their retreat.

The entire exercise was being shown live, in all it's explosive splendor to the Majors and Politicians up in the city. I smiled while holding my helmet under my arm and gestured to the place that once was a swamp and now it resembled two and a half miles of explosive demolition grounds.

"As you can see Major Vobrot, distinguished ones. Fellow knight. We are more than capable of combined arms warfare. We are becoming quite proficient."

Objective: Cement Releations- Secretly Acquire some business.
Location: Lamproid Counsel Structure

Ari strode down the ramp of the imperial Shuttle, newly arrived at the landing pads reserved for governing officials. Oddly in quite was devoid of decoration, craft and much else besides a basic architecture, that betrayed hints of previous colonization to her eyes. She'd studied the Lamproids history quick detail. Xim the Despot had ruled here once, as had the Republic, and she was sure they would be quick to rollover now...

And then strike later, as was their nature. Which is why she was here, to pacify the leadership, to keep an eye on any problems that arose. Also to strip their world dry as best she could.

These implants could make lucrative trade......

"Commander-"

"Stop. You must not call me that." Ari retorted, holding up an open palm too her aides.

"What do we call you then?"

"Ma'am will suffice. We mustn't give these folks the impression we are here as military power, nor I as a Sith Acolyte. I am Director Zannareth, Diplomat of the Sith Empire for all intents and purposes here today."

"Understood Ma'am, the guard then?"

She shot two side long glances at the black armored security that'd come with her. Their armor was scrubbed of Sith Empire symbols, but did bear her personal seal. However their commlinks might be an issue.

"Bring them. Two steps back off my left flank at all times. You will be on my right. Commlinks internal to their helms only When we meet the Council, render them honors as you would render the Emperor himself."

"Understood Ma'am. Anything else?"

She stood in contemplation, eyes roving the pad, flanked by her associates. And then finally spoke.

"Yes If anyone steps out of place, or mucks this up...... they can consider themselves terminated from my employ."
And from the verse itself, by my hand.

"Very well."

"Excellent. Shall we then Gentlemen?"

"Yes Ma'am."

They strode towards the doors and streamed into a large ceiling dome chamber, with the most rudimentary furniture of exotic jungle tree. Her eyes met the Chief of the Counsels, a taller Lamproid, with many scars. She guessed prowess in battle had put those on his frame, and he; at the head of the table. Accompanying were six more, whether advisers or members she could not tell.

"Esteemed members of the Council of Lamproids, it is our pleasure to present, Ari Zannareth, Diplomat and Director of Zannareth Holdings."

Ari bowed, her entourage following suit.

The Lamproids hemmed and hawed in some strange language.

She sneered inside.
Prehistoric beasts. What a waste of good resources...... and life in general....

Darian watched it all go down, a well hidden layer of envy washed through him as guns flared and cannons roared. He was a violent soul, a controlled violence, but violent nonetheless. That was the sorta stuff Darian truly lived for, he loved the thrill of combat and all the other chaotic nonsense that came with leading the forces that would evidently bring the Galaxy to it's knees. Simply but, he wanted to be down there. Firing weapons to some actual form rather than sitting here with lofty politicians he could care less about.

And the tattooed face of the Major made that rather apparent, he intently studied the forces as they fought. It was a well oiled machine, not unlike his own forces who he mercilessly trained into a cohesive and effective fighting force. He saw all that same skill here, a nod of a nostalgic agreement to merely how the whole force had shown itself to operate.

Of course, he held some reservation. It was simply a natural thing to do, he hadn't seen this force before. Never did he look overly deep into other formations, when one of the men spoke he eventually spoke up in his own slightly accented and cold tone.

"Have they had any proper combat experience? Otherwise, quite impressive."

Darian didn't give out praise lightly.

The Lamproids would never be able to match the human portion of the Legion is sheer numbers, not when one considered the sheer vastness of Sith-Imperial space when compared to the small number of worlds where the Lamproids were the majority. Especially when one considered the fact that a great deal of training and technological modifications would be needed to integrate them into the Sith Empire's well-oiled fighting machine. As he gazed upon the massed live-fire exercise, however, he realized that that didn't matter. Their reflexes where as impressive the Empire had hoped, already making up for their relative lack of training as a unit and the difficulty of making standard technology usable by them.

A predatory smile played across his mouth, eyes glittering with pleasure. Once they had been fully trained, once they had made combat as a unit as natural to them as eating or breathing, and once their equipment had been fully tailored to their alien physiology... oh how their enemies would know terror. He could already imagine it, mighty shock regiments made up of these ferocious beings crashing through enemy lines with a practised efficiency concealed by their ferocious exteriors. By the look on the Zabrak's face, he could tell Major Vobrot agreed, an assumption soon confirmed as the firm-faced man spoke up for once.

"Agreed, Major Helsic. Once fully trained and tempered by the fire of war, they are set to exceed all expectations." A slight bow. "It would seem your training regimen is equally impressive, my Lord. I will be sure to mention it in my report."

Just like that, the man fell silent once more. Adrian, usually the talkative once, stayed back for once, though his expression displayed his pleasure. Even he had to admit that his experience with military matters was limited at best, no, his speciality was the physiques of the beings themselves. The way they worked, the way they could be improved. Perhaps, in time, the impressive capabilities of the Lamproids could be harnessed and enhanced through the science of Alchemy, but for now he would restrain himself. It would not do to soil this promising new cooperation between these beings and the Empire at large through careless experimentation.

Mythos had trained various species in warfare, he took pride in the fact he trained Gungans into a demolition team than then sank Chazwa. Most generals would never waste their time training races they considered weak or a waste of time, Mythos had no such qualms, he had fought beside the smallest creatures and still managed to create chaos, bloodshed and surprisingly enough quite clever tactics.

The soldiers now would cycle their positions so every unit would get a chance to train then they would do it all over again at night using the C.A.R.G.S. system to shoot at night, a night live fire, a much more challenging training exercise.

In the tower Mythos was among the buzzing of officers and ammunition specialists and site coordinators. The Lamparoid, Nubian and Anubian soldiers moved fast, barking orders faster than Mythos himself. In one hand, under his arm he held his helmet, in the other he held a large cigar of Dark Bota while he graciously bowed to the compliments of his brothers and the Major.

"We have trained in Advanced Jungle Warfare thanks to this terrain. I emphasized camouflage, survival and cover and concealment as the major focuses of jungle warfare. The vornskr legion will be very proficient in these types of terrain. The idea is to be able to fight in this terrain as combined arms. We still have much to go brother, tonight..." He stopped, gave a wry smile and took a long drag of the wicked herb.

"Tonight is the NIC. Night Infiltration course. You can come take command of a unit for the exercise, if you wish to test their mettle and yours"
