Jedi Mission; Ryloth Investigation

'This is going to be a long trip.' thought the Templar in response to the....eagerly uttered words of the Twi'lek before him. He had no idea how the Jedi accompanying her did it; how they tolerated the excited dialogue that made him want to punch innocent and cute things square in the jaw...but he would never voice such thoughts. Instead, he was polite, kind and warm and did his absolute best to keep bearing. After all, he did not want to offend the Order and risk straining relations between the two organizations. So, with the...endurance of a saint...he "happily" replied.

"Well well, Mrs. Mason, you seem to have quite the fans! I'm hoping the Council hasn't been keeping such close tabs on me as they have you." he joked, before turning to the excited Knight. "Well, I thank you for coming prepared, and I'll definitely be taking up your offer on that water and archaeological kits. I think that, in the interest of time, your tale about how you came into possession of the maps may have to wait; but I'm sure that you can share it with us later. Until then...Shall we get started?"

@[member="Leina Snowfire"], @[member="Feena Mason"].

Josh had finally gotten over his headache and walked out to meet the Templars... In time to see Leina having a field day in her excited speech. Every red button and beeper was going off in the Jedi Councillor's head as he facepalmed. The headaches seemed to return just like that. This was going to be a long day...

Making his way toward @[member="Feena Mason"] and @[member="Josiah Denko"], he smiled politely. "Ah, you must be Mrs. Mason and Mr. Denko then?" the Weaponmaster asked calmly. "I see you've already met Leina" he said, chuckling a bit, though secretly he had only just met Leina and already he wanted to headbutt an Ewok.

This trip could not end soon enough.

"I'm Joshua DragonsFlame. Member and Weaponmaster of the Jedi Council" he introduced politely, smirking a bit. "I'm sure Miss Chuchi, Knight Jekk and Master Serianna will be happy to meet you as well, once they've finished their preparations" he added.

"I'm hoping Miss Snowfire hasn't given you much trouble?" he inquired curiously, motioning toward the rather overexcited Knight who within a couple of minutes had successfully given him two separate headaches. He almost wished he'd brought Ben, who might be patient enough to calm her... Or even Aleidis Ijet, if she wasn't busy with Chancellor stuffs, to get her to take a nap. Though on that thought, he would have to ask her, since they were training together about if he was capable of being able to learn to put people to sleep...

His ears still rang as he absentmindedly massaged his temples as he waited for them to reply. He had the patience of a saint, though he had hoped Leina hadn't soured their relations with the Templars...

Sarianna had been listening and walked out carrying the equipment with the packs for the archeological corps. It was standard for them but she still preferred her utility belt with her twin staffs. Slowly the closest to a battlemaster among the knights walked forward removing her one staff and extending it to guiding stick length while it tapped the ground. "Oh she is just expressing Councilor how this is for most. it isn't everyday we have a chance to find a piece of history. Even if it is only a saber created in the ancient forge it could prove invaluable." Her sashed eyes fell upon the templars and Sarianna gave a deep bow securing a pack wit water on her back, then offered one for each. "As i understand the area we are headed to is a canyon. We should get going if we don't want to get caught in a storm."

Vorhi nodded, walking over and grabbing a large pack and slinging it over his shoulder. "I brought my kit, but thank you. I was an archaeologist before I joined the Templars, and I rather enjoy a good dive," he said with a smirk as the woman with a heart filled pink, vibrating energy like cotton-candy with fizz in it cheerily frothing about. Then, another man, holding up a piece of his spirit, as if he were bottling it for a special occasion, introduced himself. He was collected, but there was a good deal of energy running through him. Still waters ran deep, in this case. Finally, there was a woman with a blindfold. Another Miraluka. He wondered if his eyes glowed the same color hers did. You never could a good look at yourself without using remote viewing, after all. She wasn't a full blood, she had real eyes beneath the blindfold--but she still saw as he did. Neat. He smiled warmly, and gave them both a quick bowing salute. "Greetings to all of you. So, which way is the Mysterious canyon, according to the mysterious star chart?"

He smirked as he looked at them. The young lady was right, they had best get out of here before a storm came. He really, really didn't like the weather here. He stayed cheerful. A free dig, working with enough people that he could actually share some of the workload. Some days, he really liked his job.

Jekk had only finished his short meditation when he noticed both Leina and DragonsFlame heading towards the hanger. Quick as it was, it had allowed the Knight to clear his mind just enough to prime himself for the upcoming mission. Drawing upon the Force had bestowed Jekk with a surplus of energy reserves in the past, especially during his strenuous training sessions. Despite his relative inexperience with Force abilities, physical augmentation was an artistry the Knight had mastered in his youth. It only served to benefit him, given his decision to study under the school of the Jedi Guardian class.

With a quick step, Jekk swiftly followed DragonsFlame and Snowfire, just a few feet behind. Upon arrival, the Knight could see how everyone had already become acquainted. A man whom introduced himself as Master Josiah Denko broke the ice, and the rest followed. Jekk chose to remain silent, instead clasping his hands behind his back. He then bowed his head in a display of deference. He wasn't well-versed in the traditions of the Templars, but they seemed to be the counterparts of the Jedi Order. If so, they deserved the Jedi's utmost respect; of that he had no doubt.

As Sarianna and the Templar with the stylish straw hat suggested they commence the mission immediately, Jekk finally spoke. "I whole-heartedly agree, sir," he announced, his voice strong and clear. "At the moment, the current weather seems to be ideal. But Ryloth is known for its violent storms, so it would be wise to begin now, before it's too late."

Leina looked around and took a pack as she smiled and gave a nod to the others. "Yep yep lets go we." The twi-lek turned around and started to skip as she hummed to herself letting the wisties flutter and then stopped. She checked the map again and turned it rightside up before pointing the other direction... then took off again at a skip while speaking. "The ancient Je'daii were so cool, I have been reading all about them on the trip and they... They used to travel around the galaxy and gather knowledge from all corners of it. Some went out so far as the ancient world of Ossus. Some even at the time went to Ziost and met the ancient sith. Oh there were the Taungs and that was how they discovered the Zhell. "The great temples on Tython were the starting point for all students, a pilgrimage between them that would seek to balance out the students mind to prepare them for the life of service in protecting the people of the galaxy. Oh there is so much history just here alone and now star maps, they were products of the Infinite empire who spanned the galaxy but it might not have even been their technology. Sometimes that gets put under scrutiny but the fact is the star maps are living kind of. In as much as they self repair and can last nearly forever, they display the gal;axy in real time with visual recordings showing rotation of planets and that points to suspected Celestial technology or it should. Something that can observe the galaxy from that high up and show everything."

"Now the one that we have found pointed out several locations but it was here for a reason, while we might not have been brought along on the others we can still prove ourselves useful. The world here had a reason for the Je'daii to come which means we might simply be standing on the location they were searching for, it isn't often we get to discover new and exciting things.. Oh I am actually glad to be here. The archeological corps has been working to get to the bottom of the ship so we can safely extract it and return it home to Tython... We might even be able to fix it up and have it as a monument to our past. That would be quite a sight to behold. Are you getting all of this? I can repeat myself if need be and oh we have backpacks with and this is important now listen friends aquatic breather, grappling line and hooks. There are a few carabeanors just in case of spelunking, a first aid kit, glow rods and food rations. There are emergency flares, thermal blankets, filter straws for water, flint and waterproof matches, some lighters, bacta patches, antidotes for several venoms from poisonous creatures, head lamps and several maps loaded into a datapad, a sonic mapping device we can use."

Josh closed his eyes as the Jedi Councilor walked, having given up on her explanation due to his failure to entirely comprehend what she was saying, and instead trying to block it out with the patience of a saint.

It didn't stop Josh from muttering under his breath "I wonder how much it would hurt to stab my lightsaber into my ears....."

Feena followed, gripping tightly at the first aid kit she had brought with her. When the twi'lek went off about all that the group of Jedi had brought, Feena wanted to speak up and say that none of the medical supplies would be necessary. Feena was widely considered the greatest healer in the Galaxy. Antidotes did little when feena could simply pull poison from the blood stream. Still, she said nothing on the subject. She was more interested in the fact that Miss Twi'lek here seemed to be under the impression that jedi truly were the protectors of the Galaxy.
That was an amusing notion.

Quickly, Jekk followed the group, turning on his heel instinctively. The incessant prattle dribbling from Snowfire only amused the Knight, and he allowed a slight, sheepish smirk to crawl across his face. On the contrary, a good majority of the group appeared to be bemused by the Twi'lek's never-ending dribble-drabble. Councilor DragonsFlame himself seemed bothered almost to the point of bewilderment. This did nothing but amuse Jekk even more.

Hands clasped behind his back, the Knight calmly walked over to the Master known as Feena Mason. He was aware of her extraordinary abilities. Truthfully, her status as a healer was such that some considered her the best healer in the known Galaxy. As Jekk approached her, he politely bowed his head. It was an absolute honor to meet her. "Please excuse my comrade, Mrs. Mason," he said softly, a smile clearly visible. "She's rather... Enthusiastic."

"Oh, enthusiasm is nothing to be sorry for, especially in one so young."

Feena forced a smile and nodded in the direction of the young Twi'lek.

"Jedi aught to all study her passion for... whatever it is she is passionate about."

Vorhi smiled and half jogged alongside the young woman. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and honestly, he'd take a ruin in crevasse over some stuffy boardroom full of diplomats any day. He liked to get some dirt under his fingernails. He smirked as he kept up with Lein'as conversation. He'd parried veermoks and dance with aryxes, but she was incredibly fast. "Yes, the Star maps were supposedly the Infinite Empire's chief means of Astrogation. Although, using that technology with modern translation software has been know to be tricky. Did you translate the dialect manually, or did the Map also develop adaptive Xenolinguistic features?" he asked, wondering at her response. After all, wasn't every day you got to see history this old, even as a Templar Seeker.

Leina kept walking and looked around as she spoke seeing the others. "Shh, you guys are really really loud and the Gutkurr are around. They are really meanie heads and started walking around looking. Then slowly her hands came up while she made sounds while walking forward and one of the large rocks perked up... There was a reason she was here on a world that had dangerous creatures. She could talk with them and slowly Leina clicked her tongue to match the creatures speech. Then her hands went on its head and Leina spoke while it licked her hand. "This is chomper... he is my new best friend."

Leina looked at Josh and clicked her tongue a few times with the chomper to match him. Then raised her eyes. "Well why do you think master Syn sent me here, beyond the need of being a skilled conversationalist I can translate, talk to and understand the languages of over several million forms of communication. Including but not limited to archaic basic, Rakatan, Killik hive mind pheromone signatures. We are going after something that fell or disappeared when several very powerful species that have survived well into the present are still around. Knight Je'daii is a top researcher, Master Ike the top of the pyramid in terms of complete skill with ancient cultures. Master Je'gan knows what to look for on Ossus, master Synlidwirh has contacted his friend on Dathomir, Padawan Quenladose is from Kashyyyk and was raised in the shadowlands and iridonia is a full team of jedi."

Her face remained curious while she looked down again and clicked getting a nod from the gutkarr then clicked her tongue. "Yep yep I agree Chomper... Your very right." Then she looked back at Josh again while shaking her head. "You don't really know anything about why we are here beyond it being a mission do you? We all have very good skills that can help us uncover the truth. Mister Vorhi is like Knight Je'daii a student of history with it as his muse, Misses Feena is a skilled healer that we would nee in case of emergencies, Mister Josiah and Knight Sarianna are here in case of problems to defend, senator Chuchi is able to negotiate if and when the time comes. Knight Jekk is here to be back up in case we start to really get attacked and need him and I can communicate with everything here."

Josh listened patiently as the young Knight told him mostly what he had already known. He chuckled as her jabbering took a surprisingly disdainful, scolding and slightly cocky turn. Taking it in good humor, and without missing a heartbeat, the Knight fired back calmly.

"You haven't considered that I was briefed on everything before everyone else, have you?" The Councilor asked, the words forming calmly despite the situation. "I know full well the skill sets of everyone on this team, Knight Snowfire. I know Senator Chuchi, Sarianna and Jekk Reth personally as well, I know what they can do. I myself was sent here in case things go wrong, along with Jekk" he said with a slight smile.

What he hadn't told her was that he had also been sent there in case Leina had made a problem of the mission due to her... Unique behavior, himself being a final smooth over operationist if Chi was unable to smooth things over. Sadly, they had neglected to brief him on what exactly Leina's possible issues were, and he regretted it when the headaches had started. Now he knew why they'd sent him there, besides taking advantage of his skills as the, as stated by Syn during his time in charge, Council's Weaponmaster.

"As for my reaction... I was informed of your skills with beasts. I've studied the field, though have not persued it myself. I was under the impression that it took time and patience, while you jibber jabbered for a few seconds and the animal became obedient" the Councilor said calmly. "Your... Attitide toward said situation is a bit surprising for a Jedi Knight as well, forgive me for being a bit surprised, as well as take my apologies for my reaction toward your beast taming, as well as me not being informed of the severity of said skills"

"And on that note, Miss Snowfire... If you are finished attempting to berate your allies... Which I do not appreciate the tone you have taken in your statement, by the way... That's not how to address a fellow Jedi Knight, and you know better then that" he stated, calmly and gently, but in a firm way that made it obvious that regardless of his patience, he wasn't happy with what she had said.

He didn't say superior when speaking of himself, instead using the equal term Jedi Knight. Force sakes, he hated that word being directed towards him, Council or not. To him, he was a Jedi Knight until stated otherwise, and an equal to his allies.

"I would appreciate...." He began as he closed his eyes, attempting to sense anything else that might have come sneaking around as they argued.

"If we could please continue the mission, I would hate to keep our allies, the Templars, waiting for long. They have been gracious enough to give us their time and asssistance, which is much appreciated and I would prefer if we were courteous to them as if they were one of us" he said with a smile as he opened his eyes. His eyes chanced upon @[member="Josiah Denko"] as he scanned the area, giving a slight smile and nod in recognition. He remembered Josiah from Nar Shadda... His sister worked at the bar there, Josh had remembered scaring off several would be suitors to the girl who had been aggressively hankering for a piece of her tush. Of course, he had also been there when Josiah and said sister started arguing and things had began to combust... He was curious as to how they were doing now, but decided he would ask Josiah when a moment was free.

Jekk stood aside, shifting his weight cautiously, as Leina apparently tamed a random, dangerous animal. Animal friendship was not an ability the Knight had studied, nor was he familiar with it. Of course, Force powers in general were mostly uncharted territory for Jekk, whom focused greatly on lightsaber combat and the more physical aspects of the Force, as per his choice to study under the class of the Jedi Guardian.

Then things took a turn for the awkward as the Twi'lek reprimanded DragonsFlame. Jekk's eyes widened ever so slightly at the young Jedi's disregard for the Weaponmaster. Indeed, she almost directly implied Joshua had no knowledge of the mission. Thankfully, DragonsFlame managed to retain his composure and calmly refute her claims.

As soon as Joshua mentioned his name, Jekk straightened his back. For the Council to have assigned him to a mission of such importance, well, it was an insurmountable honor. It indicated that they valued and recognized the young Knight, and Jekk was most definitely grateful.

The Eternal Queen
Feena was... getting impatient. She did not come along to stand here and wait while the jedi talked among themselves. She was so glad when the one named @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] brought this matter up.
The healer sighed, crossed her arms, visibly agitated with being kept waiting.

Vorhi watched the kids argue. Good grief. These were the legendary Jedi? Go figure. He sighed. Obviously, there was goign to be a pecking order issue that needed resolving, and obviously, it wasn't his problem. So, he did the sane thing. He kept moving. He smirked weakly as they continued discussing. "We've all got our knacks. So, tell me, what exactly is the plan over this canyon?" He asked diplomatically hoping someone would answer his question. After all, changing the topic might do more good than harm, if the children can't play nice.

Sarianna listened as she walked forward tapping the staff and paying less attention to the councilor. There was much to be said for one who knew everything. It was called dangerous and a sign of pride, she could see much of the one who had been in the lower city with her. For now the words of the others came hearing the templar, a canyon was usually easy enough to deal with. They had rope and some repelling equipment. "For the canyon, we will need to be careful, I do not know what your experience is I am afraid. Knight Snowfire perhaps your new pet knows where we could get down easier."
