Lily was not feeling nervous about the class. While it was definitely a class that she had not done before, she did not view it that differently from the classes she had taught younglings in combat forms and how to fight. This was about the Force and it was surrounding on a power that she had only more recently felt more comfortable in using in a practical combat situation. Stasis and Stasis Field was a powerful ability if the user was able to get it to work. Freezing an enemy, even for a short time, was a death sentence when you were a skilled combatant. Lily had developed her skills so that she could affect a radius of people but it was not something that she used often. There was always a cost when it came to the Force and Lily couldn't rely on having the stamina to pay that cost too often herself.

Looking around the very large training room, while she wasn't expecting a massive class, the Jedi Knight did think that giving plenty of space between students would be important and Lily wanted to make sure that there was enough breathing room to train. Utilising droids was something that was fairly practical with this ability, it was exciting or interesting. As much as some droids had personality and provided some feedback, there were limitations and it was not going to be helpful feedback when it came to the Force. Instead, Lily had thought about just offering herself as someone that students could attempt to stun, but there was problems with that as well. There was no guarantee it would work and time constraints.

Then it came to Lily that she needed to approach the training from the mindset of how or why would someone use this power. From there, she should form the class. Being outnumbered was the main scenario for the higher level ability, but it was still an approach for the more lower level Stasis ability. Freezing one opponent to manage the numbers better, so Lily sought out assistance from fellow Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters, as well as some of the soldiers that she had gotten to know well within the High Republic. See how the students got on with attempting to stun a diverse group of targets.

Of course, there had to be a demonstration from Lily as well, just to show how she utilised the ability and the intention effect that it would have on targets. So that the Padawans would have the best framework to work from. All Lily was doing was waiting for the volunteers and students to arrive. Then she could begin the class.

It was not something he was particularly fond of doing, but Lira had a good point. If he wanted to be a better father someday (no, they don’t have children right now!) he needed to learn how to be a better leader. Right now, as good as he was at his job, he didn’t have a great deal of social skills. He was not going to go to some cotillion alone, that was not happening, and frankly she was not going to them either so there was something else, this.

Connel was able to teach, it was a social situation but he could control, or at least help control the flow of a class. That was why he was walking into the training area of the Shiraya Temple, no, this was not his class, but when Decoria sent out the feelers for those who might be able to help demonstrate, Lira happened to see the message and gave him that grin of hers. The Corellian didn’t tell him what to do, but this would be good for him and they both knew it so he was there.

I can help with demonstrations.

Kadeon Virell arrived early. Not because he was especially eager for a lecture. No, if there was going to be a challenge involved, Kade preferred being the first one in the room.

The young Knight stepped into the training space with the easy confidence of someone who had spent most of his life being one of the most physically gifted people around. His athletic frame filled the doorway for a moment before he continued inside, green eyes sweeping over the gathering students and instructors.

A grin tugged at one corner of his mouth. Not a bad turnout. His gaze settled briefly on the woman leading the session. Well. That explained the turnout.

Kade straightened slightly, running a hand through the braids hanging over one shoulder before offering Lily a bright, practiced smile. "Master Lily." His tone carried just enough charm to make it clear he knew exactly what he was doing. They were officially peers, “Master” was not technically required. Though Lily was a far more experienced Jedi and even Kade’s ego wouldn’t allow him to discount any respect she was due.

"Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned." The smile widened a fraction. "And trying not to make everybody else look bad."

He was joking. Mostly. Then his attention shifted toward Connel. The grin didn't disappear. Connel looked like the sort of Jedi who had spent enough years in the field to have stories worth hearing. The kind of fighter who probably knew a dozen tricks Kade hadn't seen yet.

That alone earned a measure of respect. But Kade's competitive instincts immediately added another thought. Wonder if I can keep up with him. Or better yet—Wonder if I can beat him.

Not in anything important. Just enough to know where the line was. The young Knight folded his arms across his chest and settled into place among the students. Whatever the lesson turned out to be, he intended to leave an impression. And preferably the best one in the room.

Normally, Koris preferred honing his skills in the field rather than within a classroom. Academic study had never been one of his strengths, a trait that had been evident since his days as a Padawan and one that had often tested the patience of those responsible for his training. The young Alcedian was much like the wind itself ever changing, difficult to predict, and rarely content to remain in one place for long. It was that same restless nature that had ultimately brought him here today.

Not wishing to stand out too much among the others gathered within the room, Koris had decided to forgo most of the gold accessories that normally accompanied his Jedi attire. Instead, he wore only his dark purple robes, adopting a far more restrained appearance than usual.

If he were being honest, the main reason for his attendance was his interest in learning more about the Force ability known as stasis. It was a technique that, in hindsight, would have proven incredibly useful during his years operating as a smuggler.

While waiting for the event to begin, his attention drifted to the other attendees. Several faces seemed familiar, yet their names stubbornly escaped him, leaving him quietly wondering where he had seen them before more then likely in passing during his travels throughout the temple.

Oryn sauntered into the large training room, ready for class. He usually was among the first to arrive. Not so today. He wasn't late, but nor was he early. These days he had spent every free minute working on the little carvings for his lightsaber hilt. He was getting so close now…

Surveying the room, even watching a few who came in after him, Oryn felt a growing sense of concern. He had thought this was a class for Padawans, but as far as he could tell, he was the only one here… Kriff. Had he taken a wrong turn? This was going to be way to advanced, and he was going to fall flat on his face in front of all these Knights… Kriff, kriff, kriff.

He thanked the Force he had already attended a class on Force Stasis with Braze Braze . This should just be brushing up on old skills, surely…

The Nautolan remained quietly observing in the back, wearing the standard muted white robes with gilded trim. The others moved around more freely and loosely, wearing their comfort on their sleeves. No wonder. They were Knights. Jedi fething Knights.

Force send he wasn't about to become royally embarrassed.

Lily watched as other Jedi filled the room and gave a nod of her head to each as they approached the training room. "Greetings, everyone. I am Knight Decoria, but you may call me Lily. As Battle Master, I am normally focused on training Padawans in fighting techniques, whether Lightsaber based or training with other weapons, or hand to hand. However, I decided today to focus on a power that I think is most useful in crowd control. An ability to use when the numbers of your opponents outnumber your own." Lily explained in a measured tone of someone who has found herself very comfortable as the teacher.

"Stasis is a powerful ability that freezes an opponent in place. At higher levels, you can cause an area of effect where you freeze many opponents at once. For today, we are focusing on a singular opponent. To do this, I was thinking it would be best to partner up, test yourselves with attempting to conjure the ability and freeze an opponent in place." Lily paused for a moment with a sly, slightly mischievous grin on her lips. "Then we can attempt something that would be more real world applicable."

"After you feel confident with the power, you can spar with myself or Knight Vanagor and see if you can freeze us in place as we attempt to actively fight you. Nothing lethal, but with enough conviction to ensure there is some stress to the situation." Lily figured it would be a good addition to the lesson since she wanted to make sure that they could see the benefits of using such a skill in a actual fight.

Kadeon listened with his arms folded across his chest, his attention fixed on Lily as she explained the lesson. Stasis. Now that was interesting.

Most Jedi classes focused on how to hit something, block something, or survive something trying to hit you. Useful, sure. But freezing an opponent in place? That sounded like the kind of trick that could end a fight before it really started. The sort of ability that let you look impressive while doing it.

His grin widened slightly. As Lily continued, Kade glanced around the room, sizing up the other students the same way he once assessed opponents before a game. Old habits died hard.

The Nautolan Padawan in the back looked like he was trying very hard not to be noticed. Kade remembered that feeling from his early days. No point making the kid more nervous than he already seemed.

Then there was Koris. The Alcedian carried himself differently. Not stiff. Not uncertain. Restless. Like someone who preferred learning by doing rather than sitting through lectures.

Kade understood that mindset immediately. A fellow Knight, too. Now that looked like someone worth testing himself against.

His attention briefly shifted back toward Connel. The older Knight still occupied a place in Kade's mind as both a potential teacher and future challenge. Someone whose experience deserved respect.

Someone Kade eventually wanted to see if he could keep up with. Or surpass. Lily's mention of sparring against either instructor earned an immediate spark of interest. Now that sounded fun.

Actually landing a Stasis on an opponent actively trying to fight back was a different challenge entirely. The kind that separated training room success from something useful in the field.

Kade rolled his shoulders and pushed away from the wall. No point waiting around. He crossed the room toward Koris with the easy confidence that seemed permanently attached to him.

"Koris, right?" A grin appeared as he extended a hand. "Kadeon Virell. Kade."

His eyes briefly flicked toward Lily before returning to the other Knight. "Looks like we're partners."

The statement carried the same confidence as someone announcing a score before the game had started. "Besides, if we're gonna be trying to freeze Jedi Knights later, we might as well get some good practice in first." His grin widened. "And if I'm gonna impress the Battle Master, it'd be a shame to waste the opportunity to gain the attention of someone so attractive."
