- Improved Weaponry compared to the base variant: The ISTFM version adds an additional 2 heavy laser cannons and additional missile launcher, giving it a significant advantage in firepower vs your average galactic starfighter.
- More Expensive To Field: As with most things in the galaxy, the higher the quality, the higher the cost, and this still applies to the ISTFM variant of the Standard TIE fighter. It is not as widely seen as its mass produced predecessor as a result, with only wealthier galactic individuals and factions being able to field it en masse.
In many ways it is the same as the base Imperial Standard Tie Fighter, with the exception of nearly twice the additional firepower without the reduction of any combat capabilities, at the cost of being more expensive to purchase to cover the production and R&D costs.
