Be nice.

I have no idea why the Republic side of this is so confused. There are a half dozen or more threads that buil up to this, faction admins from both sides negotiated and agreed upon terms. I understand your concern about losing territory on the map. In that regard, this is just like any other invasion. If you lose, site admins determin what, where, and how the map is effected. There is not a single thing that whining, complaining, or arguing can do to effect that.

That being said... I am getting sick and tired of getting the same kark from you and Circe again and again. From whining and arguing to derailing negotiations and attempting to start post-negotiation threads to derail the terms of the invasion. Then there's a certain someone messaging me on skype and outright begging me to "let the Republic win" at Rochr. If this OOC meta bullcrap doesn't stop, I swear I will dominion and invade a bright orange circle around the Republic and claim what's left of your territories one inch at a time for the Mando'ade.
Its mostly not the active GR members that are confused. But we get alot of input from all over, sometimes that is confusing to us....

I am sorry that you feel that way about the entire GR though, I recognize the lack of terms set for the invasion but I and the GR has accepted that the negotiations are over. I am just in here when someone tags me and then I try to reply, otherwise I am merely waiting for the invasion to start, pass two weeks and then see how we can determine the outcome in a fair way.
I'd suggest the same for you :)

We are talking about different negotiations ;)

When a major faction calls for an invasion they OOC contact the faction staff of the faction they are attacking. Together the two faction ooc teams determine rules for the invasion, this includes how long the invasion will be and how to decide at the end of the invasion which faction won.

That negotiation (the one to set ooc terms) is over and the result is on the first post of this thread.
The ic negotiation aint over until you ic finish/quit it. :)
But its worth to mention that the win/loss will be determined on the 20th regardless.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"], my understanding is the Mandalorians are coming in to place Alderaan under their faction's sphere of influence because it's leaving the Republic. If Alderaan decides not to leave the Republic after all, there's no need for the Mandalorian's to invade, unless they're committing an act of war, which would put the Mandalorians who agreed to the peace treaty in a tricky spot.

I'll admit that I'm having a hard time keeping up with the hundreds of pages of threads associated with current events as this is not my full-time job, so if I'm off the mark here let me know and I'll get on with my life, or at least the IC threads I've been tagged in.

First one to legit woo Alyesa - wins.
*runs a hand through his hair* H-hi, there.

You're over thinking it.

That had to be the most underwhelming response to [member="Geral Varta"]'s very long and thoughtful post.

Yes unlike the Mandalorian we in the Republic care for the Map game. Hence we are troubled when invasion feels a bit unclear. Its how we are. Lesser Role Players... please bear with us... But, hey, I got the solution for you! Dont invade us and you wont get the whining.

*clears throat* Umm...Mantic? We can't afford to care THAT much about the map game. If we do, we're only going to develop harder hearts, because things are looking Grimm, brother. We have to take things as they are with what resources and people we have. We can't be at each others throats with this passive-aggression and snark. It doesn't matter what faction our alts are in. In the end, we're all writers. *insert heart warmer here*

It's clear that an invasion is going to happen. The best thing to do is to rick roll with it. Time to batten down the hatches and write like the wind, Bull's Eye, cuz there's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne.

Jack Sparrow seems to me that is something to be written in the invasion not a private thread. Kinda makes the objectives of the invasion moot. Don't you think.
Oh, just let him be a pirate, you. :p Just kidding.

I think of it more as either "gaining an edge" or "trying to reach a middle ground", before starting off the invasion, so that we're not at all in a disadvantageous spot of bother on the Republic side. Of course, things will be decided in the invasion. [member="Jack Sparrow"]'s just doing his job. Will the Alderaan writers let his efforts unfairly unbalance the story of the invasion? From what I've seen on their views, decidedly not.

You know what, everyone? This all actually reminds me of Manaan from KOTOR. Like, what Manaan was like before they became neutral to both sides. That's a pretty cool thought.

I'm concerned that the Mandalorian writers want to push us to accept the invasion, which the active GR writers are already totally okay with.

The reason this concerns me is that I've pointed out several times that not a single measurable means to victory has been outlined, and it appears the Mandalorian writers want us to gloss over this fact in order to secure what seems to them to be an already won invasion.

This is unacceptable. My issue is not that there is an invasion. I'm plenty happy with combat-oriented invasions, non-combat oriented invasions, whatever. But this OOC thread was not even supposed to be posted when it was; [member=Lady Kay] had asked [member=Draco Vereen] to withhold publishing anything about the invasion until it was known/decided what the impact of [member=Jack Sparrow] and [member=Alyesa Organa]'s current thread would be on the events themselves.

I do not think it's too much to ask for a solidified goal by which to measure one's victory. In fact, it's illogical to argue against it unless one is intentionally trying to disadvantage another. This is not how we repair relations, and saying "It's already been negotiated" is simply untrue: From my discussions with Lady Kay, Draco was not supposed to post this until she had completed a write up of more fleshed out objectives. Lady Kay was actually at work when this was posted, and she has been ignored in her attempts to rectify the current mess.

If you're going to shame us into participating in the invasion (that we've agreed to participate in), the very least you could do is cooperate with the design of some solid, coherent objectives aside from "Win." This is moronic.
