Into the Eye of Kad: Mandalorian Dominion of Kadia HexAE20

Into the Eye of Kad
Mandalorian Empire Dominion of Kadia
Divider_1.png

Location: The Defiant Mantis, debris field
Objective: 1 Save the Prison

Kadia, a cataclysmic system so close to Mandalore one could hit it with a bes’briik, has seen its’ last independent days. The debris field surrounding Dead End Prison and the dead planet Kadia was rife with supplies, ships, the fodder of the Eye of Kad’s deadly black hole. The dregs of the pirates and slavers, who the Mandalorian Empire threw off of Ploo, Er’kit, Hela and Taris consolidated around a dead world, their captured leaders locked away on Dead End Prison. Word broke that the Infernal was missing, that attacks on Onderon and Commenor brought the forces of Mandalore elsewhere than a dead world and prison outside its’ borders.

The assault started with a prison riot, continued with shots fired on the outer hull of the prison, to decompress the blast doors protecting the main hangar. It was time to rescue their leaders, time to take what they could with the Empire’s borders so unprotected.

Oh how wrong they were.

“Captain Kierke, bring us through the debris field at half speed. Give the safe-trail to our sister ships. Weapons, power up. If debris shivers or something looks odd, destroy it. Upon proximity, unleash the bes'uliik'e. Troops to your dropships.” Mand’alor Yasha Cadera, newly minted Alor of Clan Cadera, scanned the debris.

The Eye of Kad. Destruction without limit, wrapped in the void of cacophonous space. “My Kad…”

“Ma’am?” Captain Kierke looked to the Infernal, who for all intents had not removed a lick of her armour since returning to the Defiant Mantis since Dromund Kaas.

“Ready the drop ships and the squids for deployment. Any who are entering the prison, with me. We leave in 3.” Abruptly turning away, Mand’alor the Infernal made for her entry squid, it was time to take back the prison.

Objective 1 : Save the Prison
The Prison has security features where if control is lost the facility will drop into the black hole. This will incidentally kill all remaining prisoners, including those the pirates arent trying to rescue, as well as all staff and crew.

Objective 2 : Explore, Loot and Plunder
Circling the massive black hole in the Kadia system; the Eye of Kad, is a debris field of broken rock, former planets, asteroids, and wrecked ships. Some of these ships have loot. Its a dangerous place to loot, but theres valuable stuff, including a rumoured Hutt treasure ship.

Objective: 1 Rescue Pirates From the Prison
Enemies: The Mandalorian Empire

“Oy, Captain, they’re here… I think.” Donovan said, sitting on top of the Mandalorian prison guard he’d boffed with his plasma rifle. The Pirates made their way through the hangar, holed up by the next in a series of blast doors. Their alcove had droid access, and Donovan patched in.

“Watcher mean you think, Dono? Issat it or not?” Captain Si Troenskjegg asked, from his floating chair. Limbs blown off in the last attack at Er’kit, he clumsily tried to slide a deathstick in his mouth with two mismatched robotic arms.

“I think that’s them.” Dono pointed at a smudge on his screen, then grinned as it moved and there a Mandalorian Alor-Class ship came into view. “It’s them!”

“Start Stage two.” Si sent the transmission out to all the pirate forces, who through the gravitically mishmash debris field, began to shudder off and turn to fire on the Mandalorian forces coming in.

Rioting inside the prison began to intensify. If the Mandalorians didn’t get to the prison soon, the crew had no recourse but to send the entire facility into the black hole, with no escape for all.

Standing by [member="Yasha Cadera"]

It hurt and felt fresh still
Wounds gained from liberating commenor
So much loss carried on her shoulder
So much hate carried within her

She was glad however she had plenty saved and knew her daughters were ok at home, however stardust...didnt want to be home yet. Her vod needed her help and it was the perfect distraction for everything going on...from him...

Helmet on her side, she stood by her mand'alor yasha, eyes directed forward towards the prison slowly growing larger in the view port....crazy to put such a prison near a blackhole yet made sense as well put the worst people possible near something thatll rip you to nothing...be a fitting fate for some she could think of

never seen a black hole this close....such beauty in something so deadly

Word spoken out loud to no one in particular, glancing to yasha she placed her helmet on letting it wrap around her lekku ans lock as she turned following right behind her ready to fight with her once more

Atasihd Zi

A
Location: Dead End Prison, In A Cell
Objective: 1a - Be Rescued from the Prison
Enemies: The Black Hole

Some six months ago, Atasihd Zi had taken a contract that left out one key detail: the target was an innocent child. Sid may have been a bounty hunter, but he had his own convictions. His own rules. The slaughter of the innocent, the helpless, was a thing he could not bring himself to do. No, that which faced his intent to end life should be able to defend itself against his advances. In the end, he didn't fulfill the contract, instead levelling a threat at the originator of the contract. That should have been that. Three months ago, he discovered that it wasn't, for sometime after that contract, he took one to join a group of hunters stalking a terentatek as their quarry.

Little did he know his invitation to the group had an ulterior purpose. Tricked into becoming bait for the beast, due to his inherent sensitivity to the Force, Sid had barely escaped with his life, due to one other of the group experiencing remorse. That's when the child contract caught up with him, as he was laid up in hospital, too helpless to resist. As soon as he was just well enough, the broken Togruta was tossed in a cell and left to rot. Healing in this manner was slow, and it made him weak.

He had hardly left the cell in the month and a half since it had become his new home. The condition he was in made Sid an easy target for anyone that needed somewhere to bury a fist, or subjugate, in the prisoner hierarchy, and made his cell the safest place to be. He felt shame at his pitiful condition, and he did feel some anger at more than that. The thought of vengeance cycled through his mind at least once a day, beaten back each time by the better self instilled in him by his early years on Shili. A thirst that grew more potent the longer he was waylaid.

A thirst that might never be sated, if the prison itself was doomed.

Objective II: We need a Foothold.

Planets died in proximity to the Black Hole that drank the light of nearby stars into it as Alkor watched. The aptly named gravity well made much of the area around it inhospitable. Someone saw fit to build a prison here at the edge of existence, and the middle aged Mando had to hand it to them.

"Escaping from this installation is improbable without the right ship," he mused. "But that means the area is perfect for an outpost."

He had technicians and engineers on hand from various Mandalorian companies, all eager to have a hand in this undertaking. A Mandalorian stronghold here as well as control over a prison that could hold their enemies? It was a strong investment.

"We're going to need to clear the debris, obviously," one of them chirped. Alkor nodded and pointed toward a few of the ships collected around the Kalam, a research and stealth ship predominantly. Then, he lifted a finger and indicated the Deathwalker positioned above them.

"That's not going to be an issue," he told them. "We have the firepower to clear out most of the planetary dust and larger meteoroids. Our biggest concern is deciding how much space we need to put between the station and the Black Hole in order to ensure stability."

"We'll get right on it, sir," one of the engineers snapped as he hastily made his way to do some preliminary calculations.

"Hurry, hurry! We don't have much time!" The old Mandalorian turned pirate queen walked with quick steps towards their destination. "And remember, try not to kill too many of them." Her Weequay partner grimaced and the others around her groaned.

"Oii! You heard the lady! Let's get a move on, yeh?"

Dead End prison was home to thousands of prisoners, some justly imprisoned, others not so much. She didn't know which she was here for, but Koda had given them a list so she could only assume the former. More than likely they were Mandalorians imprisoned here at some point by the Death Watch or some other group. She wasn't normally into the business of smuggling people, but with the Empire away on so many campaigns now seemed the best time to get into the business.

"Oi! Mum! Looks we got dem weird Mandalorian squid things headed our way, small fleet just dropped out of orbit!" Kyra clicked her teeth in annoyance.

"Lets get a move on then, I'm too old to be fighting Mandalorians."

The gravity cannons lurched as rounds exploded toward their targets. Seconds passed and the engineers watched in awe as the gravitic anomalies took shape in the midst of the debris and began to pull massive chunks inward in a vacuum. Matter folded on itself as they remained at a safe distance, commentating on the events as they transpired.

"That nearly cuts the cleanup time in half," the Chief Engineer remarked, one eyebrow quirked. "You certainly thought this out, Centaris."

"We need to fortify the western front," he explained. "Any and all areas of space that can be committed to defensive structures needs to be taken into consideration. Every wall between threats and Manda'yaim is more armor for the Mando'ade."

"A pragmatic viewpoint, but not altogether a bad one," the man chuckled. "You think more like a soldier than a scientist."

Alkor looked on as the small gravity wells began to dissipate, collapsing on themselves. The teams committed to clearing the leftover refuse began their approach. "We're going to make sure no one questions the might of Mandalore ever again," Alkor told the man. "It takes soldiers, scientists, farmers- all of us to make that happen."

Loss hung off Stardust in palpable droves. The Twi’lek seemed to come around more these days, and Yasha was glad for her presence since Ithor. The texture of Yasha’s life changed that day in the Ithorian waters, and Stardust was a pillar of that shift.

The destruction around them, like their inner selves was breathtaking. Life was peaceful there in the shadow of the Eye. The old shattered and obliterated, driven into the destructive centre to be reborn at a later date by a quasar’s pulse or trick of the Force’s ethereal hand.

“The deadly is beautiful, most of all.” Yasha’s words hung between Stardust and the Yalilyr around her, as they travelled to their drop ships and their squids.

The stomach-churning jilt of the squid’s release from the Defiant Mantis yanked her equilibrium to the side, until with a grappling smash, the squid opened and the Infernal launched out of its’ berth, sword unsheathed and craving to have at the pirate flesh.

“Destroy the resisters! Settle the prisoners! Aide the Security before the prison is consumed by the Eye of Kad! OYA!” With the bellow across the comms of all the Mando’ade present, Yasha roared through the corridor, her sword cutting down the prisoners who, once released from their cells, refused to return and instead battled in an escaping resistance.

She added as she entered the squid getting in right beside tasha as she grabbed onto something her moping attitude slowly changing as her blood began to boil as the fight started growing closer to the point she grinned behind her helmet and popped her neck

That stomach churning rush made atar settle a bit but her foot tapped as the drgaon worke sits way back to the front of her mind, once she heard the sickening sound of metal being punctured as it opened and star roared and jumped out behind yasha as her saber splashed one down quickly before switching to her sword and hit it against her armor and roared again

ye be judge once! But thy judges judgement was clouded now be judged by the drgaon, the jury, judge, and executioner!

Swinging her blade again screams reached her ears as the poison did its work on those she cut that wasnt fatal

With [member="Kaine Australis"]
MandoDivider.png
These were the two men left in charge with overseeing the prison?

Jor wasn't sure which displayed more incompetence; these two buffoonish characters or the decision to put them there. Either way, he was here to clean up their mess. Never leave anything important to the local populace.

A prison complex built next to a black hole was a nice touch, too. Jor guessed it was to provide the ultimate failsafe in the event of an uprising, but it wasn't exactly a failsafe if his own life was now at risk of being swallowed up by an endless void.

All thanks to these two.

Jor stood behind both Kaine and the prisoners on the freighter, waiting to make contact with the derelict prison complex. The freighter groaned under the strain of the black hole's pull while Australis did his best to muscle the ship towards its destination and away from peril. A light over Jor's head in the ship's atrium flickered and twitched on and off as the ship's circuitry came under duress.

"I hope you know what you're doing, Kaine."

The drop pod launched with the rest of her vod, the shaking inside was violent as it was loud. At least some of the sound was absorbed by the buy'ce fastened tight in case she had to elect early. She knew her orders, help regain control it seemed simple enough. Not like there was hundreds of prisoners willing to rip her other limbs off in the chaos. As the pod hurdled towards the prison it would Impact with several small rocks along its way nothing much to worry about not until something larger impacted with the front shredding the tin can that Cynthia was inside of. Two small lights began to sweep as the pod spun around off target. Her hand struggled to reach for the emergency release from the g-force that was pulling her entire body to the side. With a firm tug of the yellow and black leaver the door would pop off then a moment later her body jettisoned out. The rebreather provided the air that was needed and she had an hours worth of it. "Guys I have a problem." She said over the coms angling herself to wards the prison with enough time to see the pod clash and explode against its exterior.

The prisoners were loud, too loud. Some pounded on the energy fields that caged them, even at the risk of burning their hands. They had recieved little resistance since they'd landed. Did they know who they were coming for?

Kyra tapped the side of her helmet, the touch activating a mapping software that was part of her HUD. A red arrow pointed left which indicated their target wasn't far.

"Oi! Mum! Archer's sayin' them Mandalorians 'ave got some sort of signal trynna remote in!" She cursed as she turned the corner. These Mandalorians were persistent. She couldn't hold up her crew much longer. They seemed to be pushing through the ships she'd brought with them.

"Alright, then-" a hand pulled her out of the way of a yellow blaster bolt. More guards.

"Stuns only!" she shouted and fired her blaster and the round stun bolt floated towards its intended target.

Deius Koman'na
Location: Asteroid Field near the Eye of Kade
Objective Two: Search for Riches and Treasures
Ship: AP-89 Crux-Class Heavy Freighter

A light tapping sound emitted from the controls, an Astromech droid worked tireless to pilot the its master's ship. Said Master had moved over to the Holo projected map of the surrounding space, it mapped out nearly perfect of asteroids and other ruined ships and of course the most worrying thing of all; the black hole. The space anomaly had been the ruin of countless planets, stars and the debris caused by the destruction had fell many of star ships and countless smugglers to their doom for seeking a quicker a route out of the system.

They weren't kidding. Deius pondered on his next move, in fact he barely had much of a plan to begin with when he had chosen to assist with the scavenge in this system. The minerals in the asteroids were worth quite a lot, the remains of the planet certainly would give space miners a pretty credit chip, but none of that gave the young Mandalorian pause.

The forgotten salvage of long dead star ships though did give Deius a lot of interest, and for that matter he needed to carefully locate the right star ship. While at his current distance, the Black Hole posed no threat, and many of the larger asteroids would prove useful cover from other smaller faster moving debris, no the real threat came from the local pirates and other security patrols. As well as other Scavengers.

The riots and attacks on the prison and local authority would keep many guarding the riches of Kadia occupied. His astromech droid beeped loudly and alerted that the scanners had found a ship adrift in the void. A Bulk freighter from the Corellian variety, that certainly appeared promising, further more the scans had shown no hull breaches, and only its engines appeared ruined. Most likely a piece of debri or an asteroid moving faster than it could dodge.

Deius readied himself a little space void walking.

The debris field continued to slowly deteriorate as they brought in Bes'uliike to blast the smaller fragments. Science vessels primed the area for use by measuring precise distances between stars and the black hole itself. The tests concluded with an optimal positioning for the construction, and Alkor gave his approval for them to begin.

"Isn't there a pressing operation over at the prison?" one of the scientists asked. "I heard-"

"I trust the others who are already there to handle the situation," he waved a hand dismissively. "I have to put faith in the abilities of the Mando'ade to do things."

"Are you gauging their ability to function without oversight?"

"No," he answered quietly. "I am building Mandalore's defenses. Now let's get the framework laid out and bring this project home. Yasha will be expecting results."

The prison erupted in such a lad-awful ruckus, the Mandalorian guards and staff of the place went from riot gear to full tactical in less than twenty seconds.

Captain Si Troenskjegg cackled as the ones they’d ‘subtly’ reminded of their colleagues in the prison. The Veemoon… Vemonkies?

Vegan. Te Veman, them guys.

Anyhow, them blokes needed to rescue their people, before the Mandos infiltrated or sent the entire prison structure to the event horizon of the Eye of Kad.

“Si, there’s a drop pod or something, it pinged off the ship! Something hit it! HAH! It’s a goner if nobody rescues the bloke inside!” Donovan gloated, fist pumping in the air.

Further on, Kyra put the stuns on and kept firing. It was about time some action took this place! Especially after the Mand’alor showed up with her posse.

“Start shooting the prisoners! The ones we don’t want. Play their hand, make it so they have to tank the prison!” Si yelled, immediately pulling out his blaster and walking toward the cells and Atasihd's in particular.

The energy shields faded from the prisoner cells, as the pirates mounting an offensive against Stardust and Yasha began to shoot back.

“Feth! Quo! Quoron, can you save Cynthia!? She’s out of containment and needs a help, brother!” Yasha switched her comm channel to Cynthia Solus. “Hold on, Cynthia, I’ve got vode narrowing on your position. Hold on, you’re almost in.”

The prison broke into a firestorm from the would-be rescuers and prisoners with makeshift blasters, shivs and enough wit to use them. Firebombs made of fermented liquids and rags flew through energy fields, which flickered.

The narrow corridors began to fill with inmates and pirates, who passed those they could whatever blasters they had on hand. The riot was growing, guards holed up in the nearest station beginning to panic at controls, as a filter of barbituates began to saturate the air.

“Star, we’re going to need to smash through the line… I’ll cover your attack. Try and make for the guard station!” Activating the M1-Shield on her wrist attachment, the shimmering field of energy snapped in a wide arc. Blaster bolts sizzled against it as the Mand’alor, almost as large as the corridors themselves, barrelled through inmate and pirate with her shield up and hammer swinging one-handed to crash upon the sods who challenged their forward trajectory.

Stardust would have her back, she also knew what to do.

Trust in vode… how amazing was that?

“Open the door, Guards! On my mark!” Yasha waited for Star, then counted down to their reinforcement position.

> Among the secondary wave of dropships deployed to the Dead End Prison, only one housed a representative of Talus. As for what the rationale was for sending exactly one member, as opposed to "zero" or "many" instead, inquiries may be addressed to Sora Talus. The prerogative to decide when, where, and to what extent the military assets of the clan are mobilized rests well above Besenth'osk Talus's station. Talus'alor1 says go, Talus'ade2 go. Questions are for agol3. ▓

> The beskar'ad4 sits motionless within the capsule as his pod approaches the station. Perhaps, at such a time, organics would be rehearsing their combat training, or visualizing what the situation on the station would be as soon as they set down, or going over one last metnal inventory of their equipment to make sure they haven't forgotten anything. But not so for a beskar'ad, for whom all of those thoughts are just data bits in a processor. ▓

> Abstract the concept of wires and electronics as nerves and tissues, though, and the same statement could be made about sentient beings' thoughts being data elements within an organic supercomputer. The difference, in that case, is that droid computers are a long ways from the propensity for error generation compared to the brain. Neither do droid brains shy away from idleness, so a droid's thoughts are not prone to working merely for the sake of avoiding monotony. ▓

> Besides, inventory had long been established. For this mission, the skirmish droid had been equipped with an
X-45 munit'tracy'uur5, the AAP-II weaponry suite (conventional for the BL-series), a set of five CryoBan grenades, and a wide-beam sonic stunner. Well in advance of the host ship's arrival at Kadia, a map of the station and a manifest of the prisoners had been uploaded into his central computer. And finally, his targeting systems had been outfitted with sensor tags belonging to the other Mando'ade on this mission, including none other than the Mand'alor herself. ▓

> Consequently, Besenth'osk knew exactly where in the jail the friendlies were, where in the station he would be arriving, and what he would be doing once he got there. ▓

> Speaking of those sensor tags, one of the beacons was currently transmitting from outside of the prison boundaries. The source of this anomaly was the one known as Cynthia Solus. ▓

> The solution which Besenth'osk could provide was not a rapid one, but given his current confinement in the station-bound pod, it is the best that can be achieved. He sends a transmission to his ship, an
M22-T Krayt Gunship. The encrypted message provides it with the coordinates of Cynthia's location, and puts the ship into autopilot mode. It will make the jump to hyperspace and arrive in the system, then move to pick her up, but its current location is at the muster point. One can expect several minutes before it arrives. ▓

> It is likely that help will arrive her way before the ship makes its way to her. But if it does not, then at least there is this contingency in place. ▓

> Moments later, the dropship bearing this beskar'ad touches down in the prison station, behind friendly lines. The pod jettisons its front door to permit egress, and Besenth'osk sets foot in the Dead End Prison, photoreceptors aglow. An overlay of the locations of the friendlies with the prison map tells him that they have formed an offensive line along the only route available. With only one way in, he can do nothing more than join their offensive thrust and push through to aid in subduing the prisoners' riot. He breaks into a run to join the rear flank as quickly as possible. ▓

The first wave of men and women to be sent to the prison were meant to break through the barrier that had been left by the pirates and whatever forces were attempting to let this place all fall into a black hole. At the very least, the prison needs to have its people taken from the prison so that our vode do not perish and become literal spaghetti noodles. Considering how a black hole, in theory that is, would have so dense of a gravity, that a mere inch from one point on your body to the other, would feel a drastic increase of gravitational pull, as to literally pull and "stretch" whatever came into it. Including light itself.

As much as many have wanted to discover what would truly happen in a vessel that could withstand that kind of damage, and torque, it's impossible, and would kill all those inside as to not be able to record what was happening. We would never truly know. Secondary to that, I know that it would hurt like hell.

Still, I prepared myself to get into the second wave of drop pods. While most of the others were in the first wave to set up the main basis, the second wave was to come in and replace wounded, killed, and to possibly evac. However, over the lines, it was clear someone else had some problems. We had a person who was being flung into the floating prison, and needed a little bit of help. I shook my head. This was not a good situation for anyone. Let alone having to catch up to whoever it was.

I raced to any possible ship to be able to control my movements too her.

"Solus, if you can try and move away from the prison and towards the hole. Just trust me."

You see, there was no way that I would be able to catch up to her if she were rocketing towards the prison. By the time I even got out of the hangar, she would be flatter than a pancake. Well, she wouldn't be flat, instead she would literally have body parts going in every direction as the G-forces brought on by going over hundreds of kilometers per second to a sudden stop would impact like falling to the ground from miles up, only multiplied by about a couple thousand times.

To be honest, I'd rather save a whole person in there armor and intact, instead of in pieces.

Vaulting over the top of the ships cockpilot, I brought down the canopy and turned on the ship. Lifting off before the seal had been closed, and pushed out of the barrier from the ship, to that of the open space.

"Stay alive as long as you can. Headed your way."

Aedan sat not on the bridge but in the belly of a gunship his eyes closed as his chin rested on his chest mentally counting down from thirty as he knew they were approaching a prison that reports stated was under prisoner control after a rather impressive riot. He opened his eyes as he felt the ship start to shudder violently a savage grin on his lips as he knew that they were tearing their way through the black holes gravity well now. This was a risky move but they were needed now finally with a massive shudder the Alor-class Dreadnought seemed to blink into existence over the prison and mere seconds later the hangar bay doors opened and countless gunships and transports lifted off flaring towards the prison. As they moved a pre recorded transmission was sent out to Mandalorian and Pirate forces. "To all those engaged in unlawful events here it is HIGHLY suggested that you cease and desist immediately or this ship shall open fire without a moments hesitation. To Mand'alor the Infernal and all Mandalorian forces this is Pirate King Miles here to provide support. If you could let your people on the station know not to shoot the 2+ meter tall beings in Black, Crimson, and Violet armor that would be appreciated. I am sending a taskforce to assist in reclaiming the prison and putting the prisoners back where they belong." He smirked as seconds later the Alor-class opened fire with all of its armaments at nearby pirate vessels the IFF read as the same ones who had spaced their cargo of slaves recently and Aedan's clan still held a grudge. Turning the large ship so the Ventral hull pointed at the prison so a large number of drop pods launched at it rather suddenly. Aedan unstrapped himself in the gunship he was in moving to the rear and standing before the ramp as he held onto an over head bar calmly a rebreather strapped over his face just in case as his armor glinted from under the long cape he wore. Behind him sat the 25 Dark Jedi adept from Bogan part of his personal guard while on the other transports sat either members of the Red Fang or Aegis Security who were under a rather long term contract with Aedan. He smirked savagely his visible eye gleaming yellow for a moment at the thought of what was to come.
